Kellie was not only amazingly responsive, but she makes damn good cake that tastes and looks amazing! I had people talking about the cake days after the wedding and people asking me left and right where I got it from. Delicious works of art! Wish I lived in the Houston area so I could request her cakes and all gatherings.

Let me start off with I am not a cake lover. However I knew I had to have a wedding cake for my guests, but I wanted something not traditional and unique. I found Kellie after Instagram surfing and let me tell you the process from start to finish was nothing but top notch. The tasting was in the comfort of her home in which she spoiled me with some wine to go along with it. She was attentive and listened super carefully to my thoughts. Kellie’s cake made me love cake and that is a hard feat to do. Kellie customized my flavors and gave me great tips to make it the best product it could be. Also the design was gorgeous. She incorporated my family crest beautifully and it was like a piece of art. The compliments on the cake used only the best words in the English language. Kellie thank you for your amazing work. Kellie did a great job for my son’s wedding. First of all, her cakes tasted SO much better than any we tasted, and we tried quite a few. The frosting she creates is probably the best frosting we’ve ever tasted on any cake. The design of her cakes is outstanding. They are unique, intricate, and beautiful. Kellie’s vision, design, and final product show her utmost dedication to her craft. Both the wedding cake and the groom’s cake were gorgeous. Kellie worked with us through pricing to be sure we felt comfortable with the cost, and she was always easy to reach. The day of the wedding, she could not have made delivery and setup easier. One of our daughter’s most amazing wedding gifts was from her aunts with extraordinary taste & talents. They choose to gift wedding cakes from The Chocolate Llama. ‘Wedding cake(s)’ is most definitely an understatement—these creations were a delicious work of art unlike any we had seen. One was a piano with sheet music and the other a tall traditional wedding cake that tasted as great as it photographed! You won’t be disappointed if you choose to hire The Chocolate Llama. They handled all details professionally and were timely planners helping the wedding couple amidst other demands. As our happily married couple celebrated another anniversary this year, we’re still receiving questions about the phenomenal baker and her work!

Everything that Kellie creates is nothing short of a masterpiece. Her artistic abilities are exceptional, and the joy and passion she brings to her business is apparent in every detail of the product she provides. Oh, and make no mistake, her cakes will forever ruin any other cake you can get your hands on. They are that spectacular. If you make it home with any leftover to freeze for your first anniversary, good luck keeping your spouse from sneaking pieces of it when you aren’t looking.

Kellie and her team are absolutely amazing! They are artists and master bakers! She made the bride and groom's cake for my daughter's wedding and they were stunning AND delicious. Kellie is an amazingly talented artist. She doesn't bake cakes, she creates one-of-a-kind works of art with such amazing detail you can only gape in wide mouth wonder and ask how it's even possible that this is a cake. The Chocolate Llama created cakes for my 50th birthday (that got more attention than me). One was a life-like replica of my beloved pup, Travis, and the other an almost exact copy of my vintage Corona typewriter. My guests were awe struck. Honestly, it was very difficult to cut into these cakes--they were just too beautiful. But eventually we did and it was the most delicious cake I've ever tasted. If I were getting married, the only person I'd call to make my cake is Kellie Herrod. She is an artist extraordinaire and one heckuva baker to boot! I've had the pleasure of enjoying one of Kellie's creations on my birthday--a cake that was a perfect replica of my antique doctor's bag! It looked so much like the original I almost picked it up by the handle! The best part was inside...rice krispie cake with peanut butter chocolate ganache...so decadent and delicious! When my niece announced her engagement a few years back, I jumped at the chance to recommend The Chocolate Llama. ​Kellie's personable and attentive approach allowed her to perfectly capture the cakes of their dreams. The bride's cake was a tower of pure beauty and grace draped in delicate flowers that everyone thought were actual blossoms--imagine their surprise when discovering these petals of sugary delight intricately sculpted by Kellie's masterful hands! And then there was the groom's cake--a flawless miniature of his favorite piano! It was so hard to believe it was a cake! We all were dazzled by Kellie's artful and imaginative designs and astounded that these works of art tasted so wonderful! I can honestly say that I have never been more happy to write a review for a wedding / event vendor them I am for Kelly at The Chocolate Llama. We have trusted Kelly with several sculpted and tiered cakes for our clients, grand openings and photo shoots that made their way to Martha Stewart Weddings. To say that we were impressed is a major understatement. Awe inspiring is more appropriate. Why? 1.
