eeting, I could tell that Vanessa was truly focused on creating a cake that captures more than just my pinterest pins and asked about the atmosphere we hoped to create at our wedding, inspiration from my dress, and our unique styles--and we were very happy with her prices, as well. She worked seamlessly with our florist to create a stunning 4-tiered semi-naked cake with flecks of gold leaf and three delicious flavors (because we couldn't choose just one). Her cake was so beautiful, its photo got its own page in our wedding album.

. I enjoyed tastings before and all the details that Vanessa brought in terms of flavors, frosting and linen. Unlike many individual vendors, the chocolate rose provides a great online booking and payment system! Overall, we were quite glad to have picked the chocolate rose for our special day.

part was choosing the flavors for the cake. So we chose 4! One for each layer. Many of Our guest came up to me during the reception and asked who “did the cake”. Best wedding cake ever❤️ Plus we had black and white cookie favors for each guest to take home. They were packaged so meticulous and were amazing! en helping us design our cake and she did such a great job at bringing all of our visions to life. At the tasting, we knew right away that our guests would fight over it. When we saw the cake on our wedding day we were so pleased, we felt that this was one of the best features at our venue! We had a small wedding, (around 70 guest) and we literally heard from everyone how much they liked the cake. Many of them told us that they had to have multiple pieces of cake because every flavor was so delicious. Some even asked if there was any more cake hidden away and they were surprised when they found out that the cake was Gluten Free. Our flavors were Coconut Rum, Black Forest and Strawberry Almond so not just one lousy Gluten Free flavor. We will definitely go back for not just cakes but all things Vanessa makes, for our next events. She is truly amazing and so easy to work with. We won't hesitate to recommend The Chocolate Rose to any of our friends not only for a wedding but for any special occasion!

She executed my cake requests beautifully and the end result was just stunning. We went with a darker grey icing with gold accents and she was super willing to go along with this more non-traditional request (and figure out how to make it taste great). Added bonus for Instagram loving people- Vanessa keeps her feed up to date so you are able to see her most recent creations through your whole planning process. Would HIGHLY recommend the Chocolate Rose to future couples!

s special, what was unique to our relationship. We came in with pictures of other cakes that we liked, but had other ideas we wanted to incorporate and did not know how. We're archaeologists (we met on an archaeological dig) so we wanted to include that in our special day. She took that and ran with it, giving us all sorts of ideas of unique ways to pay tribute to our profession and our story. Her suggestions were things I would never have thought of on my own, but would make our day uniquely us. She never let us settle for something we had just seen on Pinterest. She is an artist and really takes the time and energy to make the perfect cake for each couple. I was really nervous about the final outcome of the cake, as I was unsure how it would all come together (we'd never seen anything like it, after all-- how many archaeologist cakes are there?) but it was better than we ever could have imagined. It came out better than perfect. Her craftmanship and attention to detail was astounding. We gave her a really complicated image to replicate, in a small and cramped space, and she executed it flawlessly. We couldn't believe it! It was the perfect centerpiece and everyone couldn't stop saying how amazing it was. She also provided us with archaeology themed cookies to accent our tea bar, and those were fabulous as well. We couldn't have asked for a better treat! And, to top it all off, Vanessa's cakes are HANDS DOWN the best cakes we have ever had. The unique and expertly crafted flavors are so yummy and moist. I could quite literally eat her cakes (and cookies) for the rest of my life and be so happy doing it. Her frostings are so flavorful and rich, but you won't ever feel overladen with sugar and sweetness.

She coordinated with the venue for setting up and did so very discretely and without an issue. All of my guests thought it was such a cool idea to do a dessert table instead of everyone getting the same piece of cake. She worked closely with us to ensure that the flavors, décor, and themes were exactly what we were envisioning for our big day. We ordered 19 dozen cupcakes (5 different flavors) and a smaller 2-tier cake for the cutting ceremony. Vanessa went above and beyond and made us vegan carrot cupcakes for our vegan guests. They were a HUGE hit among the vegans and “meat-eaters” alike! She hadn’t been asked to make vegan cake before, so she baked a few test batches of cake and frosting to ensure that she created a product that she felt happy standing by and serving. Our guests raved about the other flavors too and at the end of the night… there wasn’t a single cupcake left (we had 140 people)! We were so lucky to find Vanessa and so pleased with her cupcakes and the service she provided.

Beyond being a fantastic baker, she has an extraordinary talent for art. Her creations are not only extremely delicious, they also look so amazing you don't want to eat them! I also give her a lot of credit because she was able to do all of this for me 1800 miles away. We lived in Texas while planning our wedding back home on Cape Cod. She was able to handle this task in a way that I completely felt stress free of it! It was so fun on my wedding day walking in to see this beautiful creation. I cannot rave enough about how phenomenal The Chocolate Rose Cake Shoppe is. You're not only getting quality of taste, but also quality of presentation. We are huge football fans and i wanted to incorporate that into our wedding some how! After i got to see our cake for the first time and was already taken back with happiness for it i went to our cupcake display and could not believe it.. blown away it was the best thing i have ever seen! Just goes to show Vanessa can create anything you want and bring your visions to life AND have it taste amazing. We loved working with her, she is so kind, so thankful for her!

Vanessa also worked with me on the cake design. She took one look at the ribbed design on my Wedding Dress and was able to incorporate it into the cake...both the ribbed effect and the lace! The Cake turned out wonderful and my husband and I are looking forward to the first anniversary cake she provides! Our wedding cake was so beautiful we didn't want to cut into it and our guests are still raving weeks after! We also love that although she will freeze the top tier, she offers the alternative of contacting her before the first anniversary and she will make you a new "top tier" at no additional charge!
