bly prompt and easy.
I was having difficulty finding a baker at first. Every bakery I went to used the heavy, overly sweet American buttercream frosting. After trying four different bakeries, Vanessa was the only one who was able to accommodate my request for a less sweet meringue buttercream. The frosting was amazingly light, fluffy, and absolutely fantastic. I was so incredibly happy with it.
We chose fresh strawberry, chocolate champagne mousse, and caramel chai latte flavors. Every single layer was incredibly delicious and flavorful. Our venue had trouble cutting cake pieces fast enough because as soon as they came out, they would be grabbed by our guests quite quickly.
I had a specific vision in mind for the design, and after talking with Vanessa, I fully trusted her artistic skills to bring it to life. The final cake was absolutely fantastic.
The delivery and setup couldn’t have gone any smoother. Vanessa and her team handled everything flawlessly. I honestly didn't even know they were there except that the cakes and desserts came out on time and were displayed as we had planned. Everything with The Chocolate Rose went perfectly, and we could not be happier. If you want a wedding cake vendor that is reliable and brilliantly talented, look no further.

Vanessa’s desserts are professionally crafted, beautifully presented, and made with fresh, quality ingredients. We wanted elegant, European-style pastries, and she offered just what we were looking for, although she creates a great variety of selections. On the big, day, we could not have been more pleased with everything. Vanessa had communicated with the venue and florist in advance, and she and her team seamlessly executed a stunning dessert table, their presence going completely unnoticed, as guests dined. (To assure their finest quality and correct temperature, the desserts are delivered and displayed just prior to serving time.) Everything was absolutely correct, beautifully presented, styled just as we’d requested, and simply delicious—a perfect execution! While she is extremely busy and can sometimes leave you wondering a bit, she somehow keeps track of it all and gets it right—trust her! At the tasting, we knew right away that our guests would fight over it. When we saw the cake on our wedding day we were so pleased, we felt that this was one of the best features at our venue! We had a small wedding, (around 70 guest) and we literally heard from everyone how much they liked the cake. Many of them told us that they had to have multiple pieces of cake because every flavor was so delicious. Some even asked if there was any more cake hidden away and they were surprised when they found out that the cake was Gluten Free. Our flavors were Coconut Rum, Black Forest and Strawberry Almond so not just one lousy Gluten Free flavor. We will definitely go back for not just cakes but all things Vanessa makes, for our next events. She is truly amazing and so easy to work with. We won't hesitate to recommend The Chocolate Rose to any of our friends not only for a wedding but for any special occasion!

The tasting was lovely and super fun as I went with my teenage cousins since my fiancé wasn't able to make it. She executed my cake requests beautifully and the end result was just stunning. We went with a darker grey icing with gold accents and she was super willing to go along with this more non-traditional request (and figure out how to make it taste great).
