The City Club of Cleveland

I'm so happy we chose City Club to have our reception this past June. It was an great location within walking distance to hotels and much more reasonably priced than many of the other downtown/Flats locations we looked at. Packaged can be highly customized depending on your needs/tastes, and even the most minimal package includes decent liquor in the pricing. But perhaps what sets City Club apart from any other venue is Micki. Events are managed and run by Micki Kennedy, and she was sent from the heavens above to make your wedding run smoothly. First of all, NO ONE that I corresponded with throughout the entire planning process was more responsive than Micki. She always responded to emails quickly and thoroughly, even during nonbusiness hours. Secondly, this woman KNOWS what she is doing. She thinks of everything -- things that, after over a year of planning hadn't even crossed my mind, she was all over and contacting me in regards to. Everything is in writing, everything is planned to the T, and she is able to guide you when you have questions/are unsure/need more information. We wanted an outdoor ceremony, and she even helped us find a venue for the ceremony (which was totally unrelated to City Club)! Finally, Micki and her team GET IT DONE. It is safe to say that my wedding day may have been a total and complete disaster if it weren't for Micki and her team. Although they provide centerpieces free of charge, I wanted to make my own. I also made fun details to add to the "theme" of my wedding. All I had to do was make the stuff, drop it off, and she and her team handled the rest. They set everything up, made it look great, and I didn't have to worry about how I was going to set up my reception area and still be on time for my own wedding. They also dealt with all my outside vendors for set-up and take down, and Micki helped to orchestrate the actual event, much like a planner would do. Oh and let's not forget to mention that at the end of the night, she took all our gifts/cards, boxed up all my decorations and centerpieces, and locked them in a separate room for us to pick up on Monday (and then helped us load our car!). It was so nice to spend time after the reception with our friends and family instead of having to deal with getting our stuff home or to our hotel room. Which reminds me, our honeymoon suite was included in the package, as was the cake (delicious!!), downtown parking for all of our guests, and centerpieces/flowers. I could not be happier that we found City Club and had the pleasure of working with Micki and her team. Give her a call, check out the venue, you will not regret it.

We hosted our wedding reception at the City Club of Cleveland in July, 2014. Our reception exceeded our expectations. The food was wonderful! The portions were very generous for a wedding (the most food I've ever seen at a wedding) and everyone raved about how delicious it was! Micki, our event coordinator, was wonderful! She is so professional and her attention to detail is amazing. The whole wedding day was such a blur of schedules and keeping on track that it was so nice to show up to the reception and no longer worry about anything. The staff made it so easy for everyone to enjoy the evening! We also got many compliments on the overall organization of the event and how smooth everything went. Overall our wedding was a hit and I think that is all because of the City Club! We HIGHLY recommend the City Club of Cleveland to anyone looking for the perfect reception venue-because that is exactly what it is-PERFECT!

My wife and I recently had our wedding here and we can not recommend this venue enough!! Micki and her team were fabulous from beginning to end. We knew we wanted to have our reception downtown, and after shopping around City Club definitely stood out. The value was unbeatable, as City Club was much more reasonably priced than most of the downtown hotels, but still came with superior service. The central location was also perfect. We also loved that City Club came with in-house catering, provided the wedding cake, and had a working relationship with the Wyndham. Micki was also fantastic from the start, as she was very responsive, easy to get along with, and willing to work with you on prices/what you wanted. The tasting was when we really began to see how great of a choice we had made. The food was fantastic, and we ultimately chose the Chicken Francaise and Beef Tenderloin. The tasting/planning meeting was not overly long or stressful, but Micki did a great job of planning out all the finer details with us. Leading up to the wedding, everything was great. Of course we had to make little changes here and there, and Micki was responsive and receptive to our needs. The day of the wedding was absolutely amazing. The place looked beautiful, cocktail hour was fantastic, the bar service was great, food was amazing, and Micki and the staff were incredibly attentive and kept everything on schedule. The party was so much fun that we actually ran over a little bit, and Micki was completely fine with it. Overall, we had so many people come up to us and compliment us on how amazing the reception was. Just some little extra things that we also thought went above-and-beyond---they provided little things like the card box, the cost included the wedding cake from Michael Angelo's which was also amazing, and they helped pack everything up at the end of the night to take to our cars. Top-notch from start to finish.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the City Club of Cleveland on May 18, 2013. I dont know if I can put into words how pleased we were with the City Club. The food, decor and service the day of our wedding was AMAZING! It was everything we imagined and more for our wedding day! We recieved so many compliments from our guests! Micki also made the planning process so much less stressful. She was alway available to answer questions, offer advice and make our lives easier. Because of that attentiveness our day went off without a hitch! I have not a single complaint about our experience with the City Club and I highly recommend it! It is truly a hidden gem downtown for weddings!

Everything was perfect from day one. Very flexible with scheduling meetings to view the venue as well as our planning meeting. I was able to plan all the linens, food, centerpieces, liquor and any extras in one meeting with one person. This made for a really stress free wedding!! They also provide parking passes that match your invites to include for your guests. I would email questions and have a response usually the same day! I was very pleased with everything! If you are looking for a friendly, easy, stress free, gorgeous venue this is the place!!!

My Husband and I held our wedding reception at the City Club on April 13, 2013. I simply can not say enough positive things about The City Club, especially Micki! My husband and I have such a love for Cleveland and we were committed to a wedding in the heart of downtown. Most of our family came from out of town and we wanted to showcase what a great place Cleveland is! Unfortunately, our budget didn't agree with any downtown locations ... until we found The City Club! In addition to an afforable price the service at The City Club was outstanding! From the moment we first visited to the end of our reception we were treated like gold. They were organized, helpful, patient, and fun. The food was delicious (my dad is still talking about the veal chop!) and every sinlge one of our guests had so much fun. We highly recommend The City Club for downtown Cleveland weddings!

My reception was held at the City Club and it exceeded my wildest dreams. Micki (the event coordinator) was out of this world and her professionalism and attention to detail was impeccable. The food was the best wedding food I have ever had and my guests are still talking about it. We had the coconut crusted chicken and beef tenderloin for our entrees. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this vendor!

my husband and i got married in july 2010 and absolutely loved the city club. we got compliments from our friends and family that it was classy, fancy, and the food was great. they were very accommodating when we had dietary restrictions and cultural traditions we wanted to respect. the staff was excellent and let us hang out in a different room before the reception to let us relax. i was amazed at how plentiful the appetizers were. i only wish i'd had more time to eat and enjoy them. Micki really understood what kind of look i was going for and also worked with me on pricing to help me have my dream wedding. in my opinion, if you want a downtown reception, skip the hotels and book the city club!

The best part about the City Club - many of the things I needed to do for my wedding planning I could take care of in one place! The food was wonderful and Micki and her staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and organized. I could not have asked for a better team to keep a very hectic day on track and enjoyable. We were able to walk into a beautiful reception, enjoy our friends and family, and when it was time to leave we did not have to worry because all of our belongings had been gathered for us. I would do it all over again at the City Club if I could!

We had our wedding reception at the City Club on September 10th, 2011. EVERYTHING went off without a hitch! Micki is OTB (On-The-Ball) with everything and took such great care of us! I am a very particular person and we had numerous meetings to discuss how I wanted everything to look. Micki went the extra mile to meet with me whenever I wanted to make sure all of my concerns were taken care of. Every one loved the food and the decor and the layout of the place! I can't say enough good things about this place- everything was included which made my life so much easier- linens, centerpieces (including flowers), the cake, our hotel room on our wedding night, cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres, alcohol, champagne toast for the bridal party, parking for our guests and delicious food! If you haven't checked out the City Club- then you are missing out!!!

I elected to have my reception at the City Club of Cleveland. It was an all in one package. Our linens, center pieces, cake, and catering were all included in the package we purchased. In addition there is a walkway for the guest from the parking lot to the building which is great in the event of inclement weather. The pack up all of your gifts at the end of the night and put them in the car for whomever you designate to take the presents. They decor was just beautiful! They were able to match our color scheme perfectly (tiffany blue and silver). The bakery they work with made us a fabulous cake which we also received many compliments on. There is a rather large room with a TV, couches, etc. for the bridal party which is locked so all of your belongings are safe. I can't say enough about it. The wedding coordinator is a pleasure to work with as well. She is very knowledgeable and prompt with responses. If it's in the budget I would say to definitely go with this vendor.

The City Club was fantastic. Mickey was a joy to work with. Anything we wanted, she made sure it happened. She was very honest and up-front with everything. We had both the ceremony and reception there, including a cocktail hour in-between. We were able to use the sound system to connect our laptop so we could use our own music (we saved quite a bit of money too). The decorations were very nice (we opted for the free daisies and they were just fine). The staff was very courteous and we didn't need to lift a finger for anything. The food was absolutely amazing. We chose the coconut crusted chicken and grilled pork chops as our choices (plus the included pasta for a vegetarian choice). It was all delicious. The appetizers were as well. I didn't get to taste much during cocktails as we had to mingle, but from what I heard from the guests everything was wonderful. The cake was also included, and it was great. A nice touch was that they provided tables for our "extras" (guest book, digital photo frames, and seating cards) and displayed them using table cloths and fabric in our wedding colors. We also got a separate room for just the wedding party that was set up with beverages and finger foods that we could have (we used it to take parent's pictures and relax before the ceremony). The bathrooms were very clean and they let us bring in our own convenience baskets. After the ceremony, the gifts and cards were locked up for safety, and everything was packed up for us at the end of the evening (again, we didn't have to do a thing). As far as value goes, the City Club was a diamond in the rough for us. We searched all over before some how finding it. With everything that was included (ceremony, cocktail hour with passed hot hors d'overs, use of the sound system, plated meal, full, premium bar open all night, wedding cake, finger pastries, chair covers, centerpieces, and a great staff) we actually came in well under budget (it was set at $15,000). I can't say enough good things about the City Club. I highly recommend them. It's not the cheapest place, but if you add up all the "extras" that you would pay for separately somewhere else, it's worth the extra couple of bucks. We got so many compliments on how beautiful everything looked, how amazing the food tasted, and what a good time everyone had. The only thing I wish we would have done was brought in a few decorations for the front of the room for the ceremony. I'm sure Micky could have recommended something, but we didn't want to complicate things. Overall, I would highly recommend using the City Club. Everything was outstanding.

I liked the fact that we had the coctail hour in one section of the venue and dinner in another section. I also liked that it was in downtown cleveland and was affordable good food and service. It also had great inclusions like parking for our guests hotel stay for the bride and groom champaigne toast for the bride and groom the cake included and flowers provided.
