The staff at the Classic Center helped make planning our wedding easy...and even better, they helped make the big day as stress free as possible! It was such a gift to have set up, take down, and food service all coordinated through this one stop shop. And the food was so good we even got compliments from our photographer! I would 100% recommend the Classic Center - they helped make our special day more everything we hoped it would be!
We had our reception at the Classic Center, in the beautiful marble Atrium ballroom. It was absolutely stunning ! I loved that the catering was in-house (as was the cake designing- even for my groom's cake!). It made things so easy, and because of how gorgeous and classy the Atrium is (along with the drapery and up lighting package we added), we kept our decor and florals simple and elegant. We were able to fit 19 guest tables, our sweetheart table, a 6 person live band/stage, huge dance floor, a photo booth, and two big bars without feeling cramped at all. I'd highly recommend the Atrium of the Classic Center.
The Classic Center is the way to go when having a reception in Athens. They did everything from chairs to food and that made it SO SO easy! They have many options for food and cakes. We also had our rehearsal dinner here and that was perfect too. I highly recommend using the Classic Center for both your rehearsal and reception. Guests told me that they liked having the rehearsal and reception in the same building (but different rooms) so they knew exactly where to go.
Loved the Classic Center for our ceremony location. The lighting in the Firehall was amazing...it brought lots of drama and brilliance to an otherwise rainy, winter day. The staff was great at handling our wish of having our seating arranged in a circle. The sound system was good, but the CD player was kinda bad, so we ended up plugging in a laptop to make sure the music was perfect. Definitely recommend!
We had our reception in the Oconee River Room at the Classic Center. It is a beautiful room with brick walls and a very down-to-earth setting. The food was delicious - we received many compliments! The people I worked with in the planning stages were great and always willing to help me in any way I needed. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the wait staff did take away many full, unattended glasses of beer/wine when people were on the dance floor or away from the table. Other than that, it was a wonderful reception and we had a great time!
The Classic Center ended up being a great venue for my New Year's Eve wedding reception. I held our reception in one of the event rooms in the foundry building. Services included the event space, tables, linens, plates and glassware, food and the bar. I was a little weary about the menu, because you choose from several set menus but after 2 tastings we settled on a menu that we were very pleased with. The Classic Center was very willing to accommodate any of our wishes, just remember that any extras come with a price tag! Overall I thought the classic center did a great job, especially since it was a holiday.
We had our reception here and we loved the venue- it held all 400 of our guest with room to spare which in Athens is hard to find!
We could not have been pleased more than with The Classic Center - The Athena Ballroom is just gorgeous. Our event planner, Tray Alley was over the top & the catering service & food was fabulous. I can't tell you how many people have told us it was the prettiest wedding they have attended. Definitely check out The Classic Center.
After we booked the venue- they were really bad at letting you know how the process is going to go, and what they are going to help you with. That was very frustrating. After we got closer and they gave us a number for our event coordinator there and it go a little better. They help you with a lot.
There is always something going on there- so know that you might not even get to have your wedding rehearsal in the same room as your actual wedding. And if you are planning on doing some decorating on your own you might now be able to do it til the morning of your wedding. If you are having them decorate it though- there is no problem!
Make sure you are very specific for all of the things you want.
Also- there are fees for them setting up the chairs and stuff that they dont really tell you about- know that.
But honestly overall- they were very helpful- and my wedding turned out beautiful.
I loved the raw space. The brick in the room is incredible as a backdrop for picture taking!;Don't have the drapes in front of the brick back wall--they're ugly and rob the room of its character.
