The Common Good Band was so amazing and easy to work with for our July 2, 2022 wedding at Olio in Peabody, MA. Our guests all commented on how fun and engaging they were! Jess even went into the crowd on occasion to hype our guests on the dance floor. We had a couple of calls leading up to the wedding to plan the PA system for our ceremony, playback music for our cocktail hour, special dance songs and our favorite band songs for the reception to dance the night away. No other band would have got my husband to actually sing a line from a song, which I still can’t believe he did! At the very end, our friends chanted “one more song” when they were about to pack up and the band was kind enough to actually play one more song!
We had the Common Good play at our October 2019 wedding in Boston. Our guests are still talking about how good they were and we can't agree more. They are so down to earth, easy to work with, and professional. We didn't have to worry about a thing with them leading the party. We told them what our preferred music style was, gave them the songs for our first dance etc, and they took care of the rest. It was so nice to have this peace of mind during our wedding planning. Jess was an outstanding emcee and her voice will blow you away, she even came into the crowd and got me and my wife singing. They will go the extra mile to make your party special. They made sure that we heard all the songs we wanted and pulled them off seamlessly. But Common Good really shines when you let them do their thing. They will read the room really well and tailor their set to make sure that everyone is having fun.
This review is long overdue. We had The Common Good Band play at our June 2018 wedding. THEY WERE AMAZING! We cannot say enough positive things about the band, their music and our experience. Jess was great to work with throughout the process. The band had everyone dancing all night! We would highly suggest The Common Good for anyone considering a band for their wedding. We look forward to watching them play again!
Our guests never left the dance floor! The band fulfilled every request. They sang happy birthday to a dear family friend, played our favorite songs all night, and made sure our guests were on the dance floor for the surprise confetti launch. They offered a tremendous value for both our ceremony and reception. We would absolutely recommend them to others and use them again!
Where do I even start? If you are looking for wedding a band - look no further! I would highly recommend The Common Good for anyone who is looking to have an amazing party at their reception! Not only were they great to work with during the planning process, but on the big day they delivered! They were super accommodating to all of my ever changing needs and kept me calm and relaxed during the entire planning process and throughout the day. They worked with all of my vendors to ensure the timing of everything was taken care of and everything went so smoothly. They are true professionals and really care about making your day special. Our guests raved about how talented the entire band was and everyone was on the dance floor the whole night! They learned quite a few extra songs for us and even let me come right on stage to sing a song with them! It was like celebrating with a group of friends! I feel so lucky that they were part of our big day!
We hired the Common Good for our wedding in September. They absolutely rocked and the dance floor was packed all night! Our friends and family all had great things to say about the band, what a fun group! The Common Good was the band at my sister’s wedding too so we obviously already knew they would be fabulous. They didn’t disappoint the second time around either and I would highly recommend. Jess actually did my sister’s wedding, but Ray Ray (Jess’ backup) was the lead vocalist at ours since Jess was out. Both are honestly amazing, you can’t go wrong!! They are also very reasonably priced. Book early to get your date since the deposit amount is reasonable too. Then they typically handle all the details close to the wedding date so don’t sweat getting request lists together early or worry if they are slow to respond etc.
The Common Good played at our wedding party (they provided cocktail hour music and music at the reception) and they rocked it! We loved them, our parents loved them, our friends loved them--even our grandparents loved them. Working with them was incredibly fun, easy and accommodating. They were very good at reading the crowd and playing the right tunes; they learned our first dance song and even let us pick out the songs we wanted during their break. They also let us use their microphone/stand for our ceremony; and Jessica was our MC. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
The Common Good was incredible! Many of our younger guests were skeptical that we were having a band instead of a DJ, but they could not stop raving about it afterwards. The Common Good had people up on the dance floor before the salads were even served and had to urge people to sit down to eat! Jess was great to work with and extremely accommodating. She was an excellent emcee and really helped keep the flow of the evening. We didn't have to worry about anything. We are glad that we can continue to hear them rock out at the East Bay Grille in Plymouth!
Where to begin...if you are looking for a awesome wedding band to keep the partying going and have everyone on the dance floor all night look no further. The Common Good were AMAZING. My guests can't stop talking and asking me who I hired. From first speaking to them to the end of our wedding they were fantastic. Jess was so easy to work with and had so many suggestions about song choices when I had no idea what to do (entrances, processional, recessional, cocktail hour). Jess kept the party moving along and catered to everything we needed and wanted. Even during the breaks the dance floor was packed with their song choices on their ipod and even some Portuguese music they downloaded for my family to dance to. They got the crowd into every song no matter what it was. I was on the dance floor all night and my feet paid the price in the morning. They played so many different types of music because they have so many different people that sing. They played everything from old school, rap, country, rock, etc. People told me they requested songs that got played too! We also hired them to play the ceremony and cocktail hour and they did great. If you are looking for a band and want a group that knows how to party and keep the dance floor full, look no further! Thank you Common Good, you made our wedding a great time!
Amazing band!!! My husband and I first saw The Common Good at our friends wedding in 2014 and thought they were the most talented and fun wedding band we have ever seen. When we got engaged we immediately knew we had to book them for our own wedding. I booked them first and then chose my wedding date based on the bands availability, haha! These guys (and lady) are true professionals. I let the band decide what they were going to play based on what they noticed about my guests and the mood of the night. The Common Good did not let me down. All my guests danced all night long until the very last song. It was so much fun and 5 months later I am still getting compliments on our wedding band. If you want your wedding to be a blast, HIRE THEM. You will not be disappointed, I promise!
The second the Common Good started playing, everybody at our wedding was dancing. They had our crowd on their feet for our 6 hours having the time of their lives. Jess was great as on emcee and made sure everything moved smoothly. The band had a great rapport with our rowdy crowd and I would recommend them to anyone. Many of our guests were commenting that the Common Good was one of the best bands they had ever heard at a wedding. Thank you, the common good, for an AMAZING night.
From the moment The Common Good started playing I had guests coming up to me to say how good the band was. Everyone was dancing from the moment they started playing until the very end! They played everything! I cannot express how much fun they were and how they made our wedding awesome!!
The Common Good was nothing short incredible at our wedding. Jess was so easy to work with and was a perfect emcee. The band learned our first dance song (which was rather unique and almost 5 mins long) and they were able to edit it down to the time length we wanted and it was seamless. My husband and I were so amazed at how absolutely perfect it sounded. They also learned my dad and I's first dance song and pulled off a perfect transition to a flash Thriller dance we had planned. We had people telling us and my parents that they never dance at weddings, but after ours they were sore for days and couldn't get off the dance floor. Their transition music was 100% what I requested and again just seamless. We saw them play once at a showcase at Kings and we loved them. All 3 of the singers have their own unique sounds (1 female, 2 males) and they are able to cover such a huge variety. We got endless compliments on how much everyone enjoyed The Common Good. I can't wait to see them perform live again around Boston!
The Common Good played at our wedding and were, in a word, phenomenal.
We found the Common Good at the wedding band showcase at Kings in Boston, and after watching them twice, were ready to book. The booking procedure was painless and Jessica was immediately available to speak with us about our preferred setlist, the general feel of the wedding, and anything she could do to help.
The band was able to provide amplification for our ceremony, an audio feed our videography team described as "bomb," and perfect emcee services during the reception. Nothing, though, was as impressive as their sound, with guest after guest asking us how we found the band and remaining on the dance floor for hours. The Common Good was able to read the room and keep the tunes flowing until the venue shut down.
We couldn't be happier with the band and highly, highly recommend their services to any couples looking for a kickass wedding band guaranteed to rock all night.
Our guests are still raving about how much fun they had at our wedding 10 days after our event!
The Common Good are fun, young and play every genre of music from the classics to modern day hits. We even hired one of the members to play at our ceremony and, same as the reception, he did a beautiful job.
They took the time to listen to our requests and kept everything on schedule from the speeches, to the father/daughter & mother/son dances, to the cake and the rest of the party. They even took the time to learn to play our wedding song for our first dance (not a common hit) which made our debut extra special.
Highly, highly recommended. A band will always cost more than a DJ, but relatively speaking, this group is affordable and well-worth the money. You won't regret hiring them!
The Common Good played my wedding on September 27, 2014 and were AMAZING. Everyone from the bridal party to the venue wait staff and bartenders raved about them. If you are looking for a band to get people out of their seats book them. I never left the dance floor.
We were so thrilled to have The Common Good play at our wedding! We actually lucked into it - having had another band originally booked a year in advance, but essentially breaking up/replacing members 2 months before the wedding - stressful to say the least, but as soon as we saw The Common Good and found out (amazingly!) they had our day open we knew it was meant to be. Although it was stressful at the time, I am SO happy that it happened the way it did or else I might not have had this awesome band at my wedding! They were fun, energetic, and were so so so easy to work with. By the time I got to talk to Jessica on the phone, it was only 2-3 weeks before the wedding. I told her that our first dance, father/daughter, mother/son dances all weren't on their song list, but playing them on an iPod or whatever would be just fine if that was okay with them. Well, they blew me away and learned every single song, and sounded like they had been playing them for years. We were so impressed with them in every way. Everyone from my 6 year old nephew to my Grandma were on their feet and loved these guys!! Our guests kept talking about them and how great of a time they had at our reception!!
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect band to help celebrate our wedding weekend with! My husband and I are from the Boston area so we got to hear them play 3 times at local bars before the wedding season. They learned new music to play at our ceremony and met with us to go over details of the day. Jess and her band mates are not only talented musicians but also incredibly kind and so easy to work with. Our wedding was on an island in Maine and they travelled all the way there for us. They helped to create a fun atmosphere during the cocktail hour and played music that all generations enjoyed dancing to at the reception. We have received so many compliments on the Common Good since our wedding! My husband and I are looking forward to getting to hear them play again in Boston this winter!
Picking a band for my wedding was the hardest task of the whole process for me. The Common Good was even better than I hoped they would be.
Jess was amazing to work with. She was easy to get in contact with, beyond helpful with planning and even more amazing on the actual day.
Literally everyone I have talked to about my wedding has mentioned how great the band was. They played to the crowd with a variety of music and got EVERYONE up on their feet dancing. They were the best part of the night. I would HIGHLY recommend them!!!
We had the Common Good play at our Wedding at The Mountain Top Inn in VT. We had 220 people at our wedding and every single person danced. Jess was so fun to work with which made planning music really fun.
So many guests told us this was the best wedding they have ever been to because the band was so amazing. They played non-stop dance music that kept our entire wedding going all night.
My thighs still hurt from jumping around in my wedding dress all night!
Their breaks were smooth and they played great DJ dance songs to make the breaks unnoticeable.
Most importantly, this band prefects "Shout" a wedding staple that was amazingly executed by The Common Good. :)!
10/10 BEST BAND EVER!
The Common Good did an AMAZING job at our wedding. They are so talented and are able to perform many genres of music. They even learned a couple songs for us. Very professional and helped with the overall flow of the day. Awesome job. We were on our feet all night. All of our guests were very impressed. Highly recommended!
