The Cottage at Lake Fairview was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. The recent renovations took it from an average venue to a space that completely fit what we were looking for. The outdoor lakeside area is beautifully lit, and the indoor reception hall looks refined and sophisticated while not being too stuffy or overly formal. While we did have some issues confirming the correct invoicing amounts and the accuracy of the charges, the Cottage's day-of staff were wonderful - so warm and kind and did everything to make our day stress-free.
Amazing venue!. The most amazing vendors to pick from. When planning a wedding we all know it can all add up but having a list of everything you need at one price is the best way to go. Whenever i see friends or family they all say our wedding was the most fun and beautiful wedding that they had ever been to! My husband and i are very happy with our wedding day. Tabletop catering is the way to go. We paid extra for plated entrees and it was worth it. Mackenzie at table top is amazing ask for her! Friends and Family We’re very impressed by the food as were we. This venue is an all inclusive. Alcohol separate.
The staff and supportive businesses at this venue really sell the experience! Their packages were reasonable and all of the recommended vendors were easy to work with. They all contributed to bringing our vision to life and it wasn't too difficult with such a gorgeous venue. We got so many compliments on the venue, the staff, and the experience. They are an excellent choice for any size wedding!
The owners make this experience MISERABLE. Do yourself a favor and find a different venue, the flip switches as soon as you sign a contract with them. Peggy is extremely disrespectful, not worth the added stress because of her alone.
Peggy & the venue contract stated that the $500.00 security deposit is non-refundable & I had no problem with that. The contract states that. Peggy let us know when we met with her and asked that if there was a cancellation that would be the only non-refundable amount. We gave the 50% deposit of $2,146.25 that was due at the signing of the contract on February 25, 2022. The October 7, 2022 event was canceled on April 11, 2022 and Peggy has decided not only is she going to keep the $500.00 security deposit but that she is going to keep the other $2,146.25 even though she was given six months notice of the cancellation of the October 7, 2022 event and the contract does not state that she can keep the $2,146.25. So, now I am having to get a contract attorney involved after trying to work with her since April 11th to have her refund the $2,146.25. So, moral of the story, do NOT believe what Peggy says. I could understand there being a problem if it was a last minute cancellation, but when SIX MONTHS notice is given, there is no reason to lie & steal someone's hard earned money. The $500.00 non-refundable security deposit is plenty of money to keep for basically doing nothing but reserving the venue for 45 days. Do not believe what Peggy says, KNOW that if you cancel she will keep ALL MONEY even though the contract I signed does NOT give her the legal right to do so. Buyer Beware this business lies and steals.
The scenery is beautiful, the people I was with were lovely. The person running this place was not, she was cranky from the minute we dropped our stuff off up until we left. Trying to get us to get our belongings together earlier than we we’re supposed to. She was telling the guests to start packing up a half hour before our party was even over. She was rude to the bridal party and anyone else she spoke with. I overheard her telling one of the workers that she was going to donate the leftovers without letting the couples family know. I would not recommend this venue to anyone , it too stressful of a day for anyone , be it the bride , families, guests to have to deal with this. Plus they don’t do anything for you.
I attended my friend's Pascale's wedding on Saturday and it was the most beautiful Wedding I have ever been to. We were all concerned about how Hurricane Ian would fare the outdoor setting but Peggy the owner of The Cottage on Lake Fairview went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend having a Wedding here. The lighting in the trees and over the tables felt like you were in an enchanted garden. Thank you Peggy! I am telling all my friends about your beautiful Cottage on Lake Fairiview!
This was the worst wedding host i’ve ever met.Her name is Peggy. Bride had an itinerary that was checked with the owner & when the grooms got there at 11 like they were supposed to she yelled at the men and told them they couldn’t come until 1, no one else was allowed to come until 1 but the bride and bridesmaid were supposed to come at 12 and couldn’t. She was walking around being disrespectful and rude to the guests and members of the wedding party, she called the bride and my grandmother “a pain in the ass”. We had the venue until 9pm and at 8:30 she was telling ALL the bridesmaids to have their stuff packed and ready to go but we were trying to enjoy the night and dance with the bride. at 9:20 she had thrown all object out of the cottage onto the floor. People’s clothes, wallets, hats and every belonging in there. 3 wallets were misplaced with cash missing, she was the only one with access to the cottage. During the last dance (the privacy dance) she told everyone to leave their stuff on the table and come back for it, but when we all came back my cousins purse was missing and only she was out there. She tried to keep some of the food and desserts for herself and when we found them we took them back. As the wedding was ending she told the guests they could take any of the decorations but we told her many times we wanted to keep them, they were ours and we paid for them. Her family’s car was parked out back with ours because we were loading up our decorations and she was shoving some of OUR decorations in there. Multiple people watched her.
To start with I wouldn’t even rate this place 1 star if it wasn’t for the view alone that was the only great thing about this. The owner Peggy was the most rude and hateful woman I’ve come in contact with she was awful toward the bride on her special day along with the wedding coordinator who was doing everything and Peggy sat there and name called people then tried to bark orders at people who don’t even work for her. She seemed to be drunk the whole time I saw her at the venue, she was not personable at all. At the end of the night she quite literally was throwing us out as we were packing all of our things up she was throwing our belongings on the floor, trying to take decor that the brides family purchased, and was overall very unpleasant. Please do not book here because no bride deserves the treatment that Peggy gave.
i would just like to say peggy is the most disrespectful women i have even met. she was stealing items we bought and provided for the wedding. at the end of the night she threw peoples clothes on the floor that were in the cottage. she was saying very disrespectful things to the bride trying to ruin her day. if you are thinking about getting married here please dont peggy will scam you and ruin your day.
The owner of this place, Peggy, is freaking amazing!!! She could not have made us feel more welcome on our wedding day, and she bent over backwards to make sure it was absolutely incredible for us. If I could give her 10 stars I would. If you want an amazing experience for your wedding, definitely go here. She has a beautiful outdoor area for ceremonies and receptions with lights and sound system and a beautiful lake backdrop behind the arbor. Originally because we had to downsize our wedding, we were talking about going to the courthouse because we wanted to have a small ceremony and then a bigger reception later on after Covid at her venue. But she would hear none of it. She said we could have both the ceremony and the reception at her place for the same cost. Any question I had she was always there to answer. I could not have asked for a better wedding coordinator And will recommend her to anyone I speak to about a wedding in the future. We truly feel like she is a part of our family.
I was the DJ at this venue on 3/21/20 and I wanted to share how incredible my experience was at this venue (this was my first time here). Right when I pulled up to the venue, the owners/ staff were super friendly and helpful. When I entered the reception area in the back, I was super impressed with the layout and the view. I have been DJing for about 10 years now and I personally love outside venues... the reception was not only outside, but it was literally right on the lake! Not many people get to experience dancing with their loved ones under the stars, on a beautiful lake. Not to mention, how incredible the sunset photos of the bride and groom were.. some of the best I have seen in the industry! Over the years I have found that the dynamic of outside weddings is much different vs. having a wedding in a standard hall. People tend to stay longer at outside weddings because they're not stuck inside with music (not everyone wants that). Yard games can also be played, which people tend to love at weddings! Overall if you want an unforgettable wedding, with an amazing few, and affordable prices, definitely look into this place!
I recently attended a wedding at The Cottage on Lake Fairview and I cannot say enough great things about this location. This is truly a unique venue with endless possibilities. The staff was extremely attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of. The food was deliciously served hot and fresh. The outdoor space they have there is absolutely stunning; the open air, the space and the beautiful sunset over the lake. Needless to say this venue is a hidden gem. Watching the bride and groom's first dance with the Florida sunset in the background did not disappoint either. There was plenty of space for everyone to sit back, relax and celebrate. I would highly recommend this wedding venue – it will not disappoint!
Had a great time at this venue with my family. Being on the lake was so relaxing and calming for everyone, on what can be a stressful day, ha. Loved the view of the sunset which made the Bride and Groom look beautiful, they also had beautiful lighting for the evening. Would recommend!
What a beautiful venue! The gorgeous sunset on the lake is the perfect backdrop for photos. The lights all around are magnificent and make it feel like a wonderland. Love this place!!!!
Gorgeous intimate venue with an amazing view. I recommend this place hands down.
I have to say, my fiance and I were buying a home and we decided to get married before we closed. This left us little time to prepare and we got lucky that The Cottage on Lake Fairview had an opening for us to have our Wedding. This was so last minute and Peggy had everthing we needed to pull off the most perfect wedding. I didn't have to go anywhere else, from Tables, Chairs, Linens, Bar, and someone to help me coordinate it all. We were just so blessed. I can't imagine what one would do if they had the time to prep and plan. I would recommend The Cottage on Lake Fairview to any bride that wants a lakefront wedding in Orlando.
If I could give 100 stars I would.
The cottages at Lake Fairview venue was everything we expected and imagined. It was absolutely perfect. We worked with Peggy for an entire year and everything that we wanted done and everything in every way that we imagined our wedding to look like she made happened.... We don’t have enough thank you’s to give to Peggy and her staff for Providing the perfect venue. if you’re looking for a venue for any occasion please please look into the cottages at Lake Fairview.
