About this vendor
Operating out of Kansas City, MO, The Cottage Rose is a boutique floral studio that services weddings and other special occasions. Led by mother-and-daughter owners Marydee and Ferrell Richardson, this creative team works with couples' ideas to craft beautiful floral arrangements. These seasoned florists specialize in bringing visions to life and creating personalized experiences. You can call on these seasoned florists to create personalized floristry for the heart of your celebration.
Initially, The Cottage Rose began with Marydee and Ferrell, then grew into a full-service team. These florists practiced their craft in shared spaces, apartments, basements, and back alleys before setting up in their studio in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District. This team creates a variety of designs and custom installations.
Wedding service with The Cottage Rose team begins with a questionnaire. This kickstarts the process of collaboration and discussion. These creatives will learn about your vision, then write a proposal and create a personalized inspiration board. Once you’re satisfied, these florists and coordinators will make these designs a reality for your special day.

We had the pleasure of working with Ferrell from The Cottage Rose at Meyer's Castle wedding venue, and the flowers turned out absolutely gorgeous. She has such a great eye for desi...
gn. The florals were elegant, modern, and complemented the decor perfectly. They looked incredible with the table lamps, we honestly couldn't stop admiring the combination! Everything felt so effortless, beautifully curated, and truly magazine worthy. If you're looking for a florist who can create something both timeless and unique, do yourself a favor and hire The Cottage Rose. Highly recommended! :-)
Gorgeous gorgeous flowers. Worth every penny!
Like many, we had to change our wedding plans significantly during the pandemic, and at the last minute I decided I would like to have a bridal bouquet for our small ceremony. I re...
ached out to Ferrell a month before our rescheduled date just to see if something would be possible, and she went above and beyond to accommodate my request! I hadn't originally planned on having any flowers, so I'm sure my direction was vague and not particularly helpful, but what she came up with absolutely blew me away! The one-of-a-kind bouquet she created for me became one of my favorite elements of my wedding day and added a bright pop of color and fun to a day that had had to change so much from our original plans. She delivered it personally herself on the wedding day, and I can't thank her enough for her creative vision and kindness during that time, highly recommend working with Cottage Rose for any floral need!
The Cottage Rose was one of the vendors I knew I had to have for my big day way before I was even engaged. Let me tell you, they lived up to every single expectation. The florals w...
ere of course absolutely stunning. You can tell that they take such care with their work. The mix of dried and fresh flolrals was breathtaking for my fall wedding. I felt like my vision was clearly seen and recreated exactly how I had hoped it would be. The Cottage Rose also provides you with vases, candle holders and so much more you that you can rent fo your big day, which is so helpful. Communication was always open and clear. I was never left guessing about anything. If you can't decide who to have flower your wedding, chose The Cottage Rose. You will not be even a bit disappointed.
When asked my favorite detail of my wedding, it is hands down my florals. The Cottage Rose was the first vendor that I booked, because they had been my dream florist FOREVER. Ferre...
ll worked with me through three different reschedules (and three different decor styles) and all three of them were literal perfection. Outside of her obvious floral talents, Ferrell is amazing at helping couples narrow and curate their vision. The Cottage Rose made my wedding a work of art- and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.
I cannot recommend a florist or any wedding related vendor more than I recommend The Cottage Rose. I went off a friend's recommendation to use Ferrell (who works in the KC wedding ...
industry) and have been more than impressed and pleased with how everything turned out for my wedding day. I used The Cottage Rose for my florals AND day-of coordination services. Ferrell was super attuned to my budget and style from the beginning and was always SO on top of our communications. She was invited to my Pinterest mood board and created her own mood boards based on that as well as our discussions during meetings for what my wedding florals would look like. It was no surprise when our florals, candles, details, and rentals came together SO stunningly. Some people will tell you flowers aren't a big deal and people don't notice them in weddings but it was one of the most commented on topics of my big day. I had countless DM's from my Instagram stories raving about the flowers. Dalton and Kat were my day of coordinators and went above and beyond to help with every little thing from setup, breakdown, loading leftover food/cake in the car, storing gifts, and communicating to-do's with me. I loved working with both of them. As a CPA I've found that many people in the wedding industry are not as professional as what I'm used to in my day-to-day corporate life but Ferrell, Dalton, and Kat were by FAR the most professional and polished vendor contacts I have ever worked with. I'm floored and beyond impressed over how gorgeous the day was and how easily everything came together. I am so grateful for this local KC gem!
Couldn't be happier with The Cottage Rose! Ferrell and her team brought my wedding day to life with everything from floral installations, personal flowers, and day-of coordination ...
services. As I continued to plan my wedding, I kept adding a la carte items because I kept wanting to see more cottage rose magic on our special day.
Ferrell was so helpful during the planning process, like helping me make decisions after I reached decision fatigue. She was also incredibly understanding when we postponed, which made rescheduling a lot less stressful. Her services continued after our wedding by drying some of our florals, adding to the mementos we get to keep.
Kat and Dalton were amazing day-of coordinators who took SO MUCH weight off my shoulders. They helped me enjoy our day without feeling responsible for the timeline or unexpected guest needs. It was so nice being able to add the day-of coordination service without having to find another vendor.
I love The Cottage Rose for their boho, free-spirited floral arrangements. However, no matter your style or what you envision, The Cottage Rose can make it happen.
This team is the best of the best. To say they brought my vision to life is an understatement. I also should mention I was having trouble explaining what was in my mind, but they h...
ave so much experience and creativity that they took my thought and produced a PERFECT vision board and description that I used to bring to all my other vendors.
I also utilized their day of coordination services and it was so much help. Kat and Dalton went above and beyond to help guests with their questions, make sure vendors had what they needed to set up, and were just two welcoming faces that made me feel like everything was being worked out and I had no need to step in and worry. Cannot stress how amazing this team is with organization and full on artistry to produce what they did for us.
