Kathy has made birthday cakes for my family for a while. When I needed a cake for a reception for my son and his new bride....I reached out to her and also two others. I included...
a picture of what I wanted. I received two negative comments and outrageous prices. But Kathy's reply was honest and willing. Now keep in mind, I always want something "different". This was a tooled leather (like a saddle) cake as our kids are cowboys.
She told me she had never make this but she would love the challenge. She would practice and share the results with me. Which she did. I was pleased and gave her the go ahead. She wanted to make a small version and put it in the refrigerator for 3 days and then review it. This was bc I needed it over thanksgiving and she had made plans to be out of town. The sample cake was great and we proceeded. I picked the cake up on Wednesday and did not use it until Saturday evening. It was perfect. Everyone raved over how beautiful it was and how delicious it tasted. (No one had to know it was 3 days old). She did that, just to help me out. I don't think it could have been any better on the day it was made.
Her price was ridiculously low for the amount of time and effort she put into this cake for us. She worked hard for the payment and tip she received.
I am disappointed that I can not include a picture in this review. I would love to share this practical cake with anyone that is interested. Becnor1732@yahoo.com
