we had many people come up to us and tell us they were the best wedding band they've ever heard. It played like a concert with applause for each song, it was so so enjoyable. They also played our cocktail hour and ceremony and it was beautiful and perfect. If anyone is considering a band for a Maine wedding, they should 100% use the Dapper Gents for a memorable, unique wedding. You won't regret it.

as we went about re-planning our big event. We ended up having Jake and Danny as a string duet for the ceremony and cocktail hour, both of which they nailed! They even perfectly learned a handful of songs for the day, including an unreal cover of 'Rihanna - We Found Love'. After dinner we pivoted to having Jake DJ for the dancing. We had a pretty good feel for the specific jams our guests wanted to party to and Jake was truly accommodating as we worked through playlists and do-not-plays. He even made sure my 3-year-old niece got to hear and perform to her favorite song "Bubble Butt" surrounded by our laughing guests before she retired for the evening. All in all it was a perfect day and a huge part of that was thanks to the super-talented Dapper Gents. We absolutely recommend!

(and even sent a recording in advance so we could practice) - we absolutely loved it. Jacob then became the DJ for our reception and the dance floor was never empty. They were super and easy to work with, we would absolutely recommend the Dapper Gents!

Honestly, what else could you ask for as a guest to a Portland Maine wedding, than The Dapper Gents local music, local raw bar and local beers-- we were happy to show our guests this awesome part of Portland! Jacob was easy, flexible and so accommodating, he went above and beyond for us and they are so talented. My husband and I look forward to catching a live show of theirs this winter at a Portland bar. guys have loads of music experience: masters in music, anyone? Undergrad in jazz? And they’re incredibly fun & extremely professional. When music is your full time job, like it is for these four, professionalism is a non-negotiatable. And getting people to relax, enjoy and have fun is paramount. Music preference is just that: preference. If you’re a fan of country music or are a metal-head & that’s what you expect(ed)—like the previous reviewer—don’t blame the band. That’s on you, babe.
