ng DC locals, we wanted something elegant, yet timeless in our city for 50 people. The Ellington and Bader Ginsburg rooms made that vision come to life. Mia was responsive to each and every email, accommodating us for walk throughs and tastings. When we checked in for the wedding weekend, the entire hotel staff was attentive, especially the valet and door men (thank you Desu!) and made the execution of the weekend flawless. All of our guests were more than pleased with their stay, and many raved about the hors d'oeuvres and entrees at our reception (the sea bass was out of this world!) If you need any events in the Washington, DC area, Mia Thoreson and The Darcy should be at the top of your list. We look forward to coming back on our one year anniversary!

I was so grateful to Mia for answering my endless questions, it was amazing that we were given so much flexibility with the ballrooms (which we wanted to use, when we could set up, etc), and the detail put into the banquet event orders gave me confidence going into our wedding day. We also received delicious treats, champagne, and a card the day of our wedding! Working with The Darcy felt like the perfect mix of something close knit and also grand. All phases of our wedding took place at the venue (welcome reception, ceremony, happy hour, brunch) and working with Mia was so easy and relaxed. The Darcy was very flexible and accommodating on the many details and decisions, from food, to timing, to venue, to guest housing. We are so thankful to Mia and The Darcy for helping us curate and deliver the wedding of our dreams!

We worked with Brittany Harris (the Director of Events) and had a wonderful experience discussing potential details of our reception with her. She was an absolute pleasure to talk with, and despite our intent to have fewer than 60 guests, treated us as if we would be throwing the largest and most elaborate party. We were particularly impressed with the flexible drinks menu options (for example, we wanted local beers and liquors to the extent possible, and Brittany readily accommodated that), as well as the promise of a customized menu from the excellent (and now Michelin-starred!) kitchens. It was clear from the very first conversation that Brittany and her team would be responsive, creative, and would have striven to give us a gorgeous reception, tailored thoughtfully to our vision.
