Everyone should be lucky enough to have their wedding at the Delaplaine. The space itself was very unique – cosmopolitan and classic at the same time – and event director Marilyn a...
nd her team worked hard to make it extra special. Marilyn’s passion for weddings is clear when you meet her, and she was a dream to work with – creative, friendly and had an incredible vision for the big day. Her team did great work with the décor (something that was included with the price, amazingly). She also helped with the logistics with the ceremony and the reception.
The Delaplaine was PERFECT for our wedding. Marilyn was a perfect contact: honest, dedicated, concise, and creative. She definitely dealt with my crazy ideas and requests and hel...
ped me execute. I really wanted to make sure all of our vendors were friendly and taken care of the day of and Marilyn knew and understood that naturally. The Delaplaine’s location on the creek in downtown Frederick has a wonderful reception space. It was so romantic and clean. For our ceremony we had the option of doing it in their indoor gallery or getting a permit for the creek. It was so nice to have a rain-option/plan b if we couldn’t do the ceremony outside. And because our ceremony was outside, we could have our cocktail hour in their gallery. Guests LOVED it and all art that wasn’t wedding appropriate (maybe a piece or two that I didn’t like) were hidden away. Anyway, Marilyn went above and beyond and I can’t thank her enough. If you want a wedding in Frederick, The Delaplaine should be a top contender. The space, what they offer, and their team, are a perfect combination.
What a great venue! We had both our ceremony and reception at the Delaplaine and they both were perfect! With the venue being an art museum, we didn’t need to do a lot of decorat...
ing as the art was the decor. Marilyn and her staff are pros... Marilyn has great attention to detail and very good recommendations. She supplied us with a list of vendors for everything we needed. She has a large choice of centerpiece supplies, which she is more than happy to share. She orchestrated the making of our centerpieces and they were beautiful! All her recommendations regarding lighting and set up for the reception were spot on. They made the experience so enjoyable and seamless. They made our day a memorable one for sure! We highly recommend this venue.

My husband and I could not be more pleased with how our Sept. 2014 wedding went at the Delaplaine! Marilyn and her staff went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect....
The quality of the service we received for the price far exceeded our expectations. Marilyn was a delight to work with and was extremely helpful and flexible. Our guests really loved the convenience and uniqueness of our venue selection. I highly recommend considering the Delaplaine Visual Arts Center for your event and supporting the arts - I cannot say enough great things about this organization and the people!!
From our very first meeting to our wedding day, the staff at Delaplaine were amazing. So much is included in your venue fee (unlike most!) and Marilyn really goes out of her way to...
make sure the day is just perfect. Such a unique space and I am beyond thrilled with how our day turned out. Thanks!
Working with the Delaplaine staff was a breeze and Marilyn who is repsonible for the rental space was our saving grace. She has a ton of materials you can borrow from her (most of...
them free of charge!)and is an expert in putting these things creatively together, especially if you are on a budget. The ceremony was outside on the bridge, which we had picked as she had suggested and it looked amazing. The reception was inside and was exactly what we needed and wanted. My wedding coordinator had bailed on me the night before and Marilyn saved the day and picked up all of the pieces. My wedding would not have been as wonderful without her!!! Would recommend their space for any occasion.

ator and was amazing. Not only is she awesome at what she does, but she is so creative and was able to come up with creative was to add to the venue for little cost. She even created chair covers last minute for us when we realized our chairs were not going to work with the height of our sweetheart table.
