About this vendor
Make history with your celebration at The Dery Mansion — Lehigh Valley's grandest mansion wedding venue in Catasauqua, PA.
Tucked just 8 minutes from Lehigh Valley International Airport, The Dery House stands as a striking fusion of elegance, legacy, and architectural grandeur — offering a one-of-a-kind setting for weddings, galas, bridal showers, milestone birthdays, and unforgettable events.
Once the estate of George Dery, known as "The King of Silk," this historic mansion tells a story of industrial triumph and social prestige. Dery was one of the wealthiest men in Pennsylvania during the early 20th century, and his home was designed to reflect a life of luxury and refinement. Today, The Dery House is fully restored as an extraordinary event venue that preserves the glamour of the past while meeting the needs of today's most memorable celebrations.
As the largest residential wedding venue in the Lehigh Valley, The Dery House can accommodate up to 350 guests with ease. It offers a flexible range of indoor and outdoor spaces that can be styled for everything from intimate gatherings to full-scale luxury weddings.
Inside the mansion, you'll find two expansive 1,800-square-foot ballrooms, rich in period details and natural light. The ceilings soar, the architecture sings with character, and guests are often awe-struck by one of the estate's most iconic features — an original Tiffany glass skylight, a true work of art that brings history and light together in perfect harmony.
For overnight guests or wedding parties, The Dery House features six private guest suites, each thoughtfully designed to combine old-world charm with modern comfort. These suites allow for a relaxed, all-in-one experience, perfect for multi-day events or destination weddings.
The estate's outdoor grounds are just as captivating. A massive Roman-style portico provides a stunning backdrop for ceremonies and photos, while the lush Victorian garden offers a romantic, natural atmosphere ideal for cocktail hours or outdoor receptions.
Surrounding the house, multiple terraces create beautiful transitions between indoor and outdoor areas, perfect for mingling, lounging, or dining under the stars.
A signature gem of The Dery House is its historic 1920s indoor pool, currently undergoing a careful and artful renovation. Once restored, this rare architectural feature will serve as a striking and unique backdrop for portraits, pre-event lounges, or evening soirées.
Adding to the vintage charm, the mansion includes its original 1920s bar — a beautiful centerpiece for cocktail hours, after-parties, or signature drink experiences that feel like a step back in time.
To ensure ease of access for guests, the venue offers ample on-site parking and private entrances.

As a photographer, working with The Dery Mansion was an absolute pleasure. The venue’s historic charm, elegant interiors, and natural lighting created a stunning backdrop for captu...
ring timeless moments. The staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive, making the experience smooth for both myself and the couple. I highly recommend this location to any couple seeking a romantic and sophisticated setting for their special day.
While the building itself is beautiful, our experience was extremely disappointing. Since the upfront impression and communication was that we had hired professionals, the impleme...
ntation and execution quickly broke down that facade.
Despite a detailed, previously reviewed plans, wedding set up was chaotic — tables weren’t set up as agreed, mismatched chairs were provided (one even broke under a guest), and our detailed seating chart was implemented haphazardly and incorrectly, causing many guests to be seated in socially uncomfortable places and in spaces that didn’t account for physical limitations.
Our bridal suite, rented for two nights, was poorly maintained — housekeeping never emptied the garbage, refilled toilet paper or towels, leaving me unable to use the bathroom when I woke up the morning after our wedding.
On the wedding day, the coordinator's stress clear to us and our bridal party but still found the time to prioritize photos and videos of our event for their marketing materials (as seen on the knot.com). I was also scolded multiple times throughout the event; the first for being 15 minutes late for the ceremony. My husband and I were never even welcomed to the buffet for dinner. Despite drinkware being part of our contract, the venue provided only one cup per guest for the entire night and refused to wash or restock them — my bridal party had to DoorDash additional cups to keep the bartender stocked.
To make matters worse, several wedding cards were stolen from our card box. Police obtained the venue’s security footage and confirmed a 40-minute lapse in the recording right after a guest left for the after-party.
We attempted to address these issues formally with the owner, but instead of responding personally, our letter was passed to the coordinator. The response we received was defensive, exaggerated, and contained untrue statements.
The venue has potential, but the lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic security completely tainted what should have been the best day of our lives. I would not recommend this venue to any couple.
A very charming historical mansion with such a warm and friendly staff. It was a pleasure working at this beautiful venue!
