eat communication? Yep, Lakshmi, the leader of the group, is awesome. A huge song list? Absolutely- our playlist was a pretty even split between classical and modern pop/rock favorites; additionally, for a very small fee, they'll learn new songs- our recessional was "Everything Is Awesome!!!", and they had no trouble nailing it. Talented musicians? Without question- so many guests told us how much they enjoyed the music, and we only wish we had been able to hear more of it! Now, what about price? For an accomplished quartet in the NYC area, you'd expect to pay an arm and a leg... but of the four or five groups we looked at, Devonshire was the least-expensive! Honestly, it was a steal. We're thankful not only for their hard work and their expertise, but for the memories they helped create.

While the classics always have their place (and the Devonshire Players execute those flawlessly), what drew us to the Devonshire Players was their wide variety of pop songs--both new and old--and songs from plays. Lakshmi was fabulous to work with throughout the planning process and was extremely quick to get back to me. On wedding day, the Devonshire Players arrived early to practice a song one more time before the event began that they had learned specifically for my wedding as a special request from my mom, which was outside of their already extensive play list. Having the Devonshire Players play during our ceremony & cocktail hour created the perfect air of elegance that I was looking for for those portions of the event. I highly recommend this extremely talented group of women as an affordable way to elevate your next event.

I was blown away by the mix of modern and classic songs they cover and they learned 2 new songs for our ceremony. They set the tone for a special and emotional ceremony. I cannot recommend enough!

They played for about 20 minutes before the ceremony started and although we didn't hear that part, we received so many compliments from our guests. Their talent and expertise added an incredible amount of poise and elegance to the cocktail hour, truly making it unique and one that will be remembered for a long time. These women were outstanding and well worth the very reasonable fee charged for such a quality performance. I would of given them a hundred stars if I could have!

Without even planning it, the ladies showed up in coral dresses (which are so in) and matched with small details found within the bouquets that my girls and I had. is so vast - they are the perfect touch to your wedding! We requested a song that was not in their repertoire and they were so willing to go the extra mile and made our dreams a reality. I was so glad that I was able to hear them play while I was taking photos although I was not able to enjoy the cocktail hour. My only regret was that I was not able to thank them in-person at the conclusion of the cocktail hour for helping elevate our wedding and making it so magical!

Firstly, their music on Soundcloud speaks for itself—it's just beautiful, and every bit an accurate representation of what they deliver in person. My husband and I are more contemporary, so wanted more range/modern songs versus classical, and The Devonshire Players more than accommodated us (I'll literally never be able to listen to "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol again without envisioning their string version of it). Not only are these women incredibly talented - to the point that even our very picky/opinionated family were blown away and are STILL raving about them - but they are the epitome of professionalism, from their attitude to their appearance when they come to play on your wedding day. Lakshmi was amazing to work with, as the point of contact for the quartet. She fielded numerous emails where I requested advice or tried to run ideas by her, and did so with so much warmth and kindness (even after we had paid the final deposit, which I cannot say for all of our wedding vendors). The day of the wedding, the quartet played so beautifully that our cocktail hour included multiple people congratulating us.... and telling us how beautiful the ceremony music was. They didn't compete with the conversations guests were having, and were the perfect backdrop to add elegance and beautiful music for everyone to enjoy. The Devonshire Players took our wedding to another level - their talent is unparalleled, their response time to emails helps to put you at ease, and their warmth just radiates. Booking The Devonshire Players helped to personalize our ceremony and reception so much, and we are so grateful to them for bringing so much beauty to our day through their music! Their music is joyful and moving and our guests LOVED their music. We did our first look prior to the ceremony just so we could enjoy their music during the cocktail hour. If you're looking for the best live performance you can find then these ladies are a no brainer.
