The DJ Hawaii

We got married May of 2022 at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and Tony was awesome! We had a shorter program and just had an intro into our first dance. He was so much fun and totally our style of fun to get our guests excited overall. He took our music selections and added hits of his own to make the most fun playlist. Overall, we were super happy we went with him and would highly recommend!

Before I get into it, just book Tony, it will be one of the best decisions you can make for your wedding day. Our wedding was one of the best parties of our lives thanks to The DJ Hawaii (aka Tony So). We have the somewhat now-typical COVID wedding story where we were supposed to get married December 2020 but then we decided to push the date back a full year. So we had been in contact with Tony since Fall of 2019, and had overall been keeping in touch with him for OVER two years. When we had our intimate wedding ceremony with just family in 2020, we even asked Tony to create playlists for the entire evening so we felt like we had a DJ there and he delivered without even being there! Fast forward to our new date in 2021. After much anticipation, anxiety and over two years of planning, we were finally were able to have our wedding in Hawaii. Tony not only served as just one of our vendors throughout the process, he gave us planning advice, kept us updated on what was going on on the island (regarding daily Covid restriction changes) and was just an amazing resource overall. He is personable, responsive, and has a warm personality and working with him doesn't feel like a typical wedding vendor business relationship. He embodies the welcoming and laid back vibe of the islands. I want to emphasize that my husband and I were always pretty adamant that we wanted a DJ and not a live band. This is because DJ's have more flexibility in terms of adjusting to the crowd, the vibe and changing genres more effortlessly. Tony was able to do this to perfection. Tony can read a room and was able to adjust the music to match the energy from us and our guests. This became apparent when a lot of us started dancing while the servers were trying to serve dinner. This pretty much set the tone for the night as we were asked to sit down so could be served our dinner lol. Needless to say, Tony absolutely killed it. The music and transitions were so on point and it kept our guests on their feet for 4-5 hours. We still have friends asking if they can fly Tony to the East Coast for their weddings (that's saying something). So if you're thinking about your wedding entertainment, look no further. You will find everything you need and more with Tony. Music truly sets the tone for your wedding and is one of the most important considerations for the guests' experience. Pretty napkins and centerpieces will kind of go out the window when you start having so much with your friends and family and the music is a HUGE part of that. Book Tony NOW. He's not only insanely good at what he does, but he's also become an amazing friend. We love you Tony!

Tony was AMAZING as our DJ for our wedding and had people on the dance floor all night long! Even my grandparents and other people in my family who don't normally dance were out there. It was SO much fun! He is very good at reading the crowd and playing what works. We would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Let me just start by saying that music at a wedding is EVERYTHING! I can attest to this having just had my wedding on June 30, 2018. Sentiments of happiness, excitement, hope, love, and nostalgia are elevated by song selection and the tone of the wedding is set by an evolving playlist. Every wedding is unique…the bride and groom might like two different types of music, the crowd might be filled with people young and old. Understandably, picking music can be as tricky as settling on a radio station during a family road trip! Therefore, song selection and music flow become a dynamic artform at a wedding. I was lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes look at this process after my fiancé and I locked down our friend Tony (The DJ Hawaii) to mix at our wedding. Tony spent a great deal of time going over our desires and expectations as well as his suggestions as a seasoned wedding DJ. He started by having us fill out “The DJ Hawaii Planner” worksheet. This got my fiancé and I organized and provided space for us to list everything from songs we wanted played at cocktail hour, to the name of our florist, family VIPs, wedding details, etc. I felt so relieved that he sought out so much information since he would be helping emcee and orchestrate the flow of the day. After we turned in our worksheet, we met up with Tony for brunch to review and brainstorm. He was so professional and explained that from studying our worksheet, he already had a good idea of our style and the vibe we were going for at the wedding. He also described his game plan and how he would be matching song tempos to aid with smooth transitions while simultaneously reading the crowd to see what to play next- wow. After the meeting, we kept in contact with Tony to solidify details. He was quick to respond and was always so kind and understanding of a little bridal indecisiveness- lol. Additionally, he handled all the logistics for his DJ equipment rental and travel for my destination wedding on Maui. At the wedding, Tony was the backbone of the production. As I mentioned above, he emceed to let the guests know where to go and what to expect…his style is to be positive and upbeat but not over-the-top. He created such a fun environment that my guests literally started dancing at 6:30 pm, before the sun had even set (I have never been to a wedding where that happened)?! My brother was one of the first people up on the floor…he started moonwalking to Michael Jackson. Next, my mom joined him (which I did not expect?!) and then more and more people left their table to come up and dance. The crowd was LOVING the songs Tony chose and just when someone thought they were going sit back down, another song they loved would come on! It seriously made me beyond happy to witness my friends and family having such a fun time. The experience was magical and surpassed all my dreams and expectations. At the end of the night Tony cued the music for my secret *lip sync dance routine* (a surprise gift for my husband) …Tony had secretly cut and edited the music for me! With the help of a professional choreographer and months of practicing, I was able to *s l a y* that routine and my husband absolutely loved it- yay! Ultimately, my hubby and I are so thankful that we chose The DJ Hawaii for our wedding because the experience would not have been the same without him! DJ Tony So was our DJ for our wedding at the Four seasons on 11/18/17. He was phenomenal! I am from Chicago, so I had not met with Tony until 2 days before the wedding. We met that day and gave him some information about ourselves. He was willing to have us send him 2gb of music to peruse through two days before the wedding! He definitely understood our style and was fantastic! He also brought AV equipment last minute to put mics on people during the wedding part. DJ Hawaii, Tony So, is great to work with and I highly recommend him!!

Tony was worth every penny! My husband and I were impressed at how he was able to keep the majority of the guests on the dance floor the entire night. We are not big music people but we gave him examples of songs we liked and he took it from there. We do not live in Hawaii so it was tough figuring out who we wanted to use. The price range for DJs are pretty wide but if it sounds too good to be true, you may not want to go with them. Tony was on the mid-higher end than all of the ones I researched but once we met with him, we instantly knew that we wanted to go with him. He has a ton of years of experience, and has the best personality. He was very responsive with email and was flexible in meeting with us when we only had a small window open to meet. It sounds like Tony is well-known and has a great reputation in Hawaii. I would not skimp on your DJ/MC. He definitely had a huge part in making our wedding day a memorable and enjoyable night for us and all of our guests!

After speaking with DJ Tony So at a Wedding Expo in March, we knew he was the perfect fit for our Halloween destination wedding. He was very knowledgable, friendly, and engaging. Having worked many weddings he really understood our style and our guests expectations (East coast weddings are all about dancing!) We had an eclectic style including classic rock during the dinner hour, ska for our entrance, 311 for our first dance, hip hop, MJ's Thriller, and top 40 but he managed to seamlessly integrate the songs and mixes all into our perfect for our wedding soundtrack. DJ Tony So had our guests on the dance floor the entire night despite the humidity and they still haven't stopped complimenting him! In addition to making our reception exceptional, Tony helped to make our ceremony memorable as well. Our ukulele player was stuck in traffic and unable to play during the ceremony, so Tony quickly stepped in playing all of our requested songs ensuring that the ceremony was everything we dreamed of. There is a reason he comes so HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and if I could give more than 5 stars i would!

Planning our Hawaii wedding from NYC was challenging - but after a conversation with DJ Tony, I was hopeful that he would deliver on his word - and he did. He met with my fiancé and I a few days before to sort through the music choices - he really helped us to move our vision along! He was extremely attentive during the entire wedding (ceremony, dinner and party!). He totally picked up on the Canadian-Australian party vibe and kept the energy at high the whole time. Awesome!

Reached out on October 29. Tony reached back out on October 31 asking for a good time for us to connect. I asked if 11/1 would work. No reply. Reached out again on 11/2. No reply. Leaving review on 11/16.

Toni as our emcee and DJ is very professional. He help us all the way through the day of our wedding. My guest loved him and I will definitely recommend him to my friends.

Tony was so wonderful to work with , and he did a fantastic job playing the music @ my wedding. He kept the crowd entertained, and there was not a second of dead air or silence. I really recommend people to use Tony for entertainment.

Tony was awesome. He knew how to get people on the dance floor and keep them their. He also had a great selection of dinner and entry music! He was great to work with and I'd recommend him as a wedding DJ!

We used Tony as our DJ and Emcee. He was amazing. At first I was hesistant to pay so much for a DJ/Emcee, but it was worth every penny. He kept the crowd entertained and the music was great. In Hawaii a lot of people leave right after the program and don't stay for the dancing. Tony did such a great job that almost all of our guests stayed until the very end of the night and a large majority danced. Tony really greated the "good time" "party" atmosphere we wanted and encouraged our guests to enjoy themselves. This was especially hard to do given our wedding was on a Sunday and a lot of guests had to work the next day. Nonetheless Tony was able to work his magic. It was also nice to have a professional emcee versus trusting a friend. By having a professional I didn't have to worry about any embarrassing stories being told or someone drinking too much and not following through with their duties. Tony met with us three times before the wedding to make sure he had all the information he needed and kept the program on track all night. It was so nice to be able to come to the wedding and enjoy it and not have to worry about the schedule at all. I would highly recommend Tony if you are looking for a DJ and/or Emcee.

We are soooo happy that we chose Tony for our big day! Everyone had an absolute ball – people can’t stop talking about how much fun our wedding was! The music was beyond unbelievable. Tony definitely can definitely read a crowd! All along, all I wanted was for us and our guests to be relaxed and have fun. We planned the schedule of events around maximum time on the dance floor, hoping and praying that we would just have a good time. Thanks to Tony and his amazing MC/DJ skills our wish for the day was a reality! I also have to mention how well he controlled the schedule and directed things while being flexible when adjustments were needed. I really could not be happier with Tony's services and we're thrilled to have so many great moments to look back on.

Tony So is definitely the best DJ I have ever encountered. He is so personal and does exactly what you want. We didn't have an MC for our wedding and he played the perfect part. He got the crowd going and definitely set the mood for our wedding. With discussing our music genres, he knew exactly what we wanted. We didn't want the typical electric slide and typical wedding music. He definitely mixed it up for us just the way we like it. I am glad to have gone with him as our DJ

All I know is that you are making a big mistake if you do not book Tony. He is talented and very professional. He practically ran my wedding for me. And he played music that got everyone dancing. Seriously, everyone. I had explained to my fiance, who is not originally from Hawaii, that people don't really dance at local weddings in Hawaii but Tony proved me wrong. Even my grandma danced! Everyone had a great time and was disappointed when we had to end the party.

Tony told me from the very beginning that he would be able to get everyone attending my wedding to dance. I was hesitant because my guests were all older than 50. However, on the day of the wedding every single person was dancing. It was amazing! Even my grandparents were dancing. He is definitely a miracle DJ and is worth every penny. He made our wedding day awesome!

We absolutely loved working with Tony. Things ran so smoothly and we know it's thanks to him. He got people out on the dance floor which we were worried about. We could not have asked for a better DJ/Emcee.

I had Tony So as our DJ for our wedding in Lanai, Hawaii. He was by far the best choice that I could've ever made. He had everyone dancing the entire night including a couple that were 62 and 61 years old - that's how good he was. After months, we're still receiving compliments about our choice of DJ. I highly recommend Tony So for your event - again, he's simply awesome!

Ou DJ was awesome because he met with us prior to the wedding to make sure he played all the songs we wanted to be played. He also hired a Professional Emcee that everyone absolutely loved. He works at a radio station here in Honolulu. Our DJ also worked very well with the emcee, the band, and the videographer.;Book him early!
