The Dogwood in the Grove is a chic wedding venue in Saint Louis, MO, featuring stylish modern decor and luxury furnishings. Two stories of elegance and class, the lounge-style venue can accommodate once-in-a-lifetime special occasions with delicious catering and professional services. Couples are sure to feel at home in the urban setting, mingling between bar and dancing and enjoying the second-floor patio views.
Established in 2020, The Dogwood in the Grove was purpose-built to host special moments and cherished memories. Every detail is painstakingly designed to create an attractive atmosphere that blends with the romance of the occasion. Spread over two floors, the downstairs marble-topped bar area is characterized by contemporary light fixtures and luxurious furniture in richly accented colors. Moving upstairs, the sophistication continues up a winding grand staircase, opening onto a more private event space. As they climb the steps, couples are enveloped in light and fresh air streaming in through the outdoor terrace. An expansive wall of windows opens to let the outside world in, making wandering from the dance floor to balcony an effortless and inviting feature. Adding to the ambience, a variety of restaurants, bars, and amenities are within a short distance for after-parties and pre-wedding gatherings.
The Dogwood in the Grove offers an all-inclusive wedding event package to couples from ceremonies to grand reception exits. Boasting stylishly restored pine tables, walnut wood chairs, and velvet stools, furniture can be available to accommodate guest lists 120 to 250 people. An in-house design team can recreate each couple’s dream decor vision for the day and provide expert styling advice. On-site catering, full bar service, and flatware are also included in the package, boasting a state-of-the-art culinary experience for hassle-free menu planning and dining. Amenities such as sound systems, microphones, and projector screens can be provided for entertainment options. Additional services include custom lighting and outdoor heating.

As for The Social Affair, our guests couldn't stop raving about the food, especially the pork chop. The double cut pork chop was the largest we have ever seen and was cooked to perfection. The word “no” was never considered in their vocabulary, rather each idea and dream was met with “how can we make this happen?” People often don’t recall what they ate at weddings or what appetizers made their way around, but not our guests. We are still hearing stories of cleaned plates, shared meals, and wondering when we’ll do this all again. Liz, the fabulous mastermind behind the scenes, and her incredible team ensured not a soul went hungry. etween the two spaces (it’s the perfect venue for any wedding size, up to 150! We had ~115 people very comfortably). Wedding planning has a lot of decision-making and the Dogwood team helps simplify the process by including so many tasteful touches with the venue and catering contracts – black velvet chairs, trestle tables, seating vignettes throughout the space for your guests during cocktail hour and the reception, crystal glassware and gold flatware were all such wonderful details!
The Social Affair Catering is a part of the Dogwood family, so is the in-house catering company (the kitchen is onsite!), so you won’t need to find a caterer. And even better – they work with you to build out a custom menu, based on the couple’s favorite dishes. From the charcuterie spread and personalized cocktails for the couple during cocktail hour, to the trio of desserts and midnight snack, the food was all SO delcious.
The entire Dogwood team was truly so wonderful to work with! They really take a team-approach and made the entire wedding-planning process so easy. The team is very organized, was easy to communicate with (and readily available for a call or meeting!) and coordinated with all our vendors and perfectly executed everything we envisioned. The venue is beautiful and we can’t thank Ellie, Kelly and the whole team enough for the personal touches and making our day so special.

All of those kind words only affirmed what we already knew: you cannot go wrong by staging an event at The Dogwood. The space itself is versatile, elegant, and suited to so many needs. Of course, the sweeping staircase is a true centerpiece of the ceremony and our photos, but a particular highlight for many of our guests was the second-floor terrace that allowed folks to step away from the dance floor, catch some fresh air, and admire the sweeping views of one of St. Louis’ iconic neighborhoods, The Grove. But the food may have been the top highlight of the night. Rightfully so. We’ve all attended weddings where the menu featured the standard chicken, fish, and vegetables. Kelly Spencer’s team at The Social Affair went above and beyond to curate a menu that was true to our tastes. They more or less read our minds! After attending a tasting event at the venue, we sat down with the team to talk about the foods that felt most important to us. From our ideas, The Social Affair turned around an entire menu full of perfect surprises for all tastes. And of course, every single item on the menu was absolutely delicious. Seriously. Months later, we continue to hear from guests who loved something they tasted at our wedding. That makes us feel good—and thankful that we were able to find such an extraordinary venue and catering team. We recommend them wholeheartedly for your special event. ng and she was incredibly helpful and organized. She answered my questions and emails and was very timely in her responses as we got closer to the wedding. I know she also played a major role in getting everything set up and organizing vendors on the day of. Kelly was the main coordinator during the event and she was incredible. She was everywhere all at once- ensuring everything was getting set up, that things were moving along smoothly, and ensuring that we always had enough food and never an empty glass. She even stayed super calm and eased my worries during the tornado warning lol. I received so many comments from guests on how amazing the staff and bartenders were as well as how AMAZING the food was! The Social Affair is the exclusive caterer for the Dogwood and literally everything was 10/10 delicious. I received so many comments on how fantastic the food was and the variety of options they had was excellent. I could literally go on and on about how amazing The Dogwood was. Kelly and her team at The Dogwood and The Social Affair were such a pleasure to work with. From the minute we picked our date they were attentive, responsive, helpful and best of all, fun. They met with us to coordinate all of our floor plans, decorations, and vendor needs. Kelly met with us personally to go over our entire menu from passed hors d'oeuvres and charcuterie, to an entire coursed menu for our guests. Her team worked tirelessly to bring together all of our vendors, coordinate them on the day, and set up the venue perfectly. They answered every panicked email we sent in record time and put us at such ease leading up to our reception. From start to finish they made our day effortless and special.
