My son was married at this venue May 30. I was mortified when I went to the venue to be sure it was wedding ready and discovered, overgrown bushes, weeds, dead trees, and overgrown...
pathways. Although they were able to get a landscape company there to clean up and manicure to the best of their ability the day before and the morning of the wedding rehearsal and dinner. we had gotten a lot of rain in our area and the drainage system at the venue was not working properly, so there was an abundance of mosquitoes. The evening of the rehearsal dinner there was a realtor and a potential buyer looking at the property because it is currently for sale, but we were not made aware of this at the time of booking the venue they were just wandering around looking at the property while we were holding our event under contract with the owner, which was very awkward .the morning of the event, the adjacent building which holds the restrooms and has a different pump system. were not working no running water at the facility and no functioning restrooms. They were able to rent a restroom trailer, which arrived sometime after noon. Which means the wedding party was left to get ready with no functioning restrooms and no running water. They had to drive to the closest gas station until the restroom trailer arrived. The venue handled the tent rental and the dance floor but three days before the wedding we were informed there would be no dance floor so we had to spend additional money to build a makeshift dance floor. In the end, it did work out everything came together.
The pictures that are advertised for this venue are not recent. They are pictures taken when it was owned by the Ridge family which lives next-door when the venue was pristine and gorgeous .The current condition of this venue is nowhere near how is represented in the photographs. there is no string lighting in the trees or along the pathway. One of the fixtures is even over, ran by a hornets nest.
The venue is ran by a third-party hired by the owner. They definitely did the best they could with what they had been dealt, but it never should have come to being handled last minute two days before an event at the venue. Conversations were had, and things were said, but not fulfilled completely or possibly it was just miscommunication. They did not have dumpsters to dispose of the trash and we were told to leave it there and they would do it. We were also told for all the trouble they would put up the tables and chairs, and that did not happen now we are being charged additional fees for that cleanup.
If this venue is sold and the proper person is in charge, it will be a beautiful venue, but in its current condition and current ownership, I would not recommend having an event here
I would say the owner lost money on this wedding because he did not plan ahead or maintain the facilities or the property properly and it caused him additional money in the long run to make a accommodations for our wedding. I’m assuming he’s upset and that’s why he’s claiming no one ever told us about putting up the tables now there’s an additional $250 fee for cleanup. I’m not sure why we would have put everything up went out and disassembled the dance floor, but left the tables and chairs under the tent just because everything else was cleaned up except for that because of what we were told.
Again, this is just our experience
