Our sales person always responded in a timely manner whenever I had any questions. My bridal attendant was there every step of the way during my wedding and the maitre d made sure...
everything ran smoothly the day of our wedding. The Estate at East Wind is absolutly beautiful. Our guests could not believe how much food was there for cocktail hour. The cocktail hour room was enormous. There was plenty of room for everyone to sit. The room where the reception was held was beautiful. If you're looking for a beautiful venue East Wind is the place.
It has been a week since our wedding at the East Wind Inn in Tenants Harbor, Maine and we are still blown away but what an amazing experience we had.
Venue:
The East Wind Inn is a...
small 20 room inn right on the Harbor with an incredible outdoor space for a wedding. A large lawn extends down to the water and with plenty of room to situate our ceremony site for 75 people and tent for our reception. From the ceremony site you can view the whole harbor and Southern Island, and the boats in their moorings made the wedding a truly "Maine" experience. You might be concerned about a lobster coop being so close to the venue, but don't be. No bait smell at all and most of the work is done in the morning so noise is a non-issue.
Wedding Coordinator: Chelsea
Chelsea was a true gem in the whole wedding planning experience. My husband and I currently live in Pittsburgh (Husband grew up in the Mid Coast) so planning from afar required some help. She did a fantastic job helping us decide on what package to choose, working with our vendors, offering suggestions for a timeline for the wedding day, assisting with a wardrobe malfunction, and generally keeping the pace of our event smooth and completely off of our minds.
Chef and Food: Chef Colin Hatfield
Colin's menus are so delicious, all of our guests enjoyed their food and we did too! We went with a plated dinner, but buffet is also an option. The service time, and the quality of the food was perfect. We opted to have a tasting with Chelsea and Colin and enjoyed the opportunity to talk with him about his menu. But honestly even if we didn't have the tasting we knew we would have been in good hands.I was especially relieved to know that Colin has a completely peanut free kitchen. As I have family who have severe allergies, I was happy to know that their list of allergens would be totally avoided and that my family members would be able to eat!
The Inn:
We, and Most of our immediate family and bridal party, stayed at the Inn the Friday before and Saturday of the wedding and the rooms were so lovely. Breakfast in the Wan-e-set restaurant in the inn is included, which everyone loved and appreciated. With our wedding package, we were able to coordinate two "get ready" rooms, one for me and one for my husband. They were ideal.
Staff and Event experience:
The staff who assisted with our wedding were professional, kind, and generally seemed excited for the wedding! Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. All of our experiences with them were amazing.
After Party:
We were able to include an after party in the Quarry Tavern for our guests, due to noise ordinances requiring the outdoor party to end at 10pm. The space was perfect and the staff who bartended for us were great. They even allowed us to set up a speaker to play music, no issue there.
From the moment we saw the East Wind Inn we knew it would be a great place to have our wedding. But on our wedding day, we looked at one another and both agreed that no other location would have been as amazing for our event. It was a perfect day and so much of that had to do with the staff at the East Wind Inn. Thank you for such a perfect weekend!
If you are considering a sea-side wedding in Mid Coast Maine, please visit the East Wind Inn - you will not be disappointed!
The East Wind is a beautiful venue with great food! Our wedding was held in the Southampton ball room and our Maitre D Scott and Bridal Attendant MarieLou were simply amazing. They...
did such a great job at following our requests which made the party run super smoothly. Best of all, they were always checking up on my husband and I to make sure were well fed and hydrated (we were surrounded by so many people we often forgot to eat and drink). Scott and MaryLou made our party a complete success!! The only reason I am not giving this venue 5 stars, is because our Event Coordinator was often difficult to get a hold of and she could be short on the phone I often felt rushed off the call. She also took up to a week to get back to us at some point which was quite disappointing. Setting that aside, we had an amazing wedding!!
Setting up the Room Block was easy. I was contacted by them via email after I had booked my wedding. Between a couple of emails, one phone call and sending a fax, it was done. Sim...
ple! The staff was very friendly at the hotel. You book room blocks in groups of 5. Easy enough. The rooms were beautiful, everyone that stayed there loved them. Check in and check out was really quick and simple. The hotel bar stayed open an hour after my wedding...and we eventually went outside to the terrace when the bar closed. Everyone enjoyed their stay here that night. Thanks East Wind for a great night in your hotel after my wedding!
This was only the second venue I viewed and I fell in love with the Estate room as soon as I walked in. The process of setting up our wedding was smooth and easy and the people wer...
e so awesome to work with. They wanted to help in anyway possible to make sure every detail was perfect.
Gotta say, I loved the Estate and if I could do it all over again, I'd still go to East Wind.
