After deciding to get married in Manchester Vermont we looked at all the venues in town. We initially were unsure if we wanted to have any wedding festivities held at the Equinox as we were worried that with having several weddings on the same day the Equinox would not give us adequate time and attention….. how wrong we were.
We ended up having our reception at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel but wanted to get married outside. Due to limitations at the Taconic with hosting both the wedding ceremony and reception outside we contacted the Equinox who were amazing to work with and helped us secure the Pond Pavilion to hold just our ceremony.
Working with the Equinox (we specifically worked with Ella) was truly a fairy tale experience. We can’t get over how incredibly kind, timely in communication and most of all how accommodating they\ Equinox was. It was extremely obvious that Ella at the Equinox was passionate about what she does compared to our coordinator at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel who was clearly just coming to work every day to get a pay check.
From the moment we booked with the Equinox through our wedding day Ella, our coordinator at the Equinox was prompt to get back to us with any concerns, was kind, professional, and flexible.
The wonderful experience we had at the Equinox was the exact opposite of the experience we had at our reception site at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel. At the Kimpton Taconic Hotel it was impossible to get prompt communication with our coordinator and she was extremely cold and unprofessional. It felt like pulling teeth and was frankly an upsetting experience compared to what the Equinox provided us with.
On the weekend of the wedding the coordinator at the Taconic continued to do the bare minimum. In contrast despite us only having a ceremony at the Equinox Ella was continuing to go above and beyond and even offered to bring coffee to me and my bridesmaids staying at the hotel down the street. Ella even saved the day when she located some hair spray and brought it all the way to our room at a different hotel.
Given our experience at both venues we can not recommend the Equinox enough, they truly made our wedding experience incredible and we can not thank Ella and the team at the Equinox enough.
(Abbreviated to fit) Whatever you do, don’t get married at the Equinox Resort in Manchester. Let our experience help you avoid a nightmare.
The setting is undeniably stunning, and that’s how they lay the trap. As soon as you’ve signed the contract the bait and switch begins. There are 2 fundamental issues, the event staff is woefully underresourced, the the hotel desperately needs a major renovation. To be fair to the one employee who was consistently incredible, Jackie, who managed the room blocks, you are great. But the organization of the room block doesn’t make up for an underperforming events team.
There is also a fundamental assumption to note. For our family, the $100k - $150k+ in revenue the wedding brought to the hotel is a lot of money. A lot, a lot, a lot of money! It’s the largest amount of money we’ll spend at one time. That’s a college education. For the Equinox Resort, that makes you 1 of 3 weddings they’ll do that weekend with 3 more the next weekend, and they know you’re not coming back again. Any corporate event or corporate client is going to be more important than you are, and that's not an inference, the Head of Sales said that specifically. Think about it with 3 weddings most weekends, they don’t have 3 bridal suites, they just say any room in the Orvis House is a “bridal suite.” After seeing how dirty our room was when we arrived, the front desk tried to move us to the largest ‘suite’ in the Orvis House to apologize. The head of sales stepped in, “It’s reserved for the MInister's conference, they come back every year.” The room was so bad we had to find another place for the Bride to get ready off-property the morning of the wedding so it didn’t ruin the getting-ready photos.
The event staff. They’ll tell you everything is set up, and by the time you get to the event, it’s too late to have them execute all the details they’ve missed. “There’s just not enough time,” you’ll hear. Your choice is to spend the most important hours of your life fighting with them over all the things they failed to execute or spend the time with the people who love you and came to celebrate your big day. They prey on this fact, it’s predatory. Get to the finish line and then say we can’t possibly do all the things we told you we would. If the details are important to you, go somewhere else. Ultimately, if you can bring in your own event staff to overcome their deficiencies, and you tell your guests to stay somewhere else, it’s possible to have a great event. You could work around them, but if you have to spend that much energy, just go somewhere else.
Our original wedding coordinator quit, and after a month of unanswered emails, we reached out to the staff. As soon as we’d signed the contract it was harder to get her to reply, which made it more difficult to notice when she’d stopped replying at all. When we called, the hotel’s response was, “oh she quit weeks ago.” Was someone going to tell us? Then we were ping-ponged back and forth between other coordinators throughout the rest of the time. No one had ownership, and that continued so much so that there wasn’t even a wedding coordinator at our ceremony. The Equinox did not even have a wedding coordinator at our wedding ceremony. When the Equinox shuttle forgot to pick up the bride, there was no one there to assist. 15 minutes after the wedding was scheduled to start and all the guests were all seated, the bride decided to walk herself to her wedding.

Ryan,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how important your wedding day was, and while we strive for excellence, it’s clear there were some areas that didn’t meet your expectations. Our team, including leadership, has been in co...
ntact with you and your partner after the event to address the concerns you raised and ensure everything is resolved. We had a full team dedicated to your celebration, even after your main contact left, and worked hard to ensure the event was properly managed. We value your feedback and remain committed to providing exceptional service, and we’ll continue to focus on the details that matter most to our guests.
Equinox Pond was the perfect place for our 65 person fall wedding. Ella, our event coordinator, went above and beyond to make our day perfect and flawless. She made every step of the planning process seem a little less stressful. Ella took charge of all of the decor which she did flawlessly. Ella became very close to my husband and I and will always be dear to us.
My only critique is for the hotel staff who were rude and not polite at times. Ella was wonderful in assisting with any issue when had regarding our room and was a great advocate for us.
Any questions?
We got married at Equinox resort on 6/8/2024. I cannot say how perfect the weekend was. Jill, Jackie we so fantastic with all accommodations throughout the weekend. Diane and Ella stepped up when our original event planner was no longer available. They both were so fantastic answering our million of questions building up to the wedding and being present for whatever we needed the weekend of the wedding! We had some concerns of rain and they were flexible on our options and allowing us to make a last minute decision to go ahead with outside ceremony which was perfect. I could not recommend a better place to get married! We had rehearsal on Rockwell patio/ballroom and wedding on 1811 lawn and reception in the tent. Everything went very smooth. Thank you Equinox!!
We had our wedding at The Pond Pavilion at The Equinox on Sep 13th 2024. It was beyond a doubt the best weekend of our lives thanks to the many amazing people at The Equinox that supported us. First and foremost, Ella, the event coordinator. From the day we booked through the day after our event, she was by our side answering questions and going far above and beyond to ensure our wedding was memorable. All of the staff at The Equinox, from the shuttle drivers to the bartenders and servers to the many behind the scenes, everyone was incredibly helpful and kind. They are a well-oiled machine that has a great process in place but at the same time made sure you felt like you were the only wedding they will ever host. The service, the views, the food.. everything was spectacular!
We could not recommend hosting your event at The Pond Pavilion enough- it was absolutely incredible and the perfect fall weather we experienced made it even better. If you are planning on hosting a smaller event (75 or under) and appreciate nature, the pond and the mountains, do not hesitate to host your event here!
Ella was such a thoughtful and diligent planner – she went out of her way to ensure we had the best day. It was so comforting to have her guide us through all the details from the moment we connected to the very end of our farewell brunch. The Equinox was a gorgeous venue, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!
Our wedding ceremony and reception was at The Equinox's Pond Pavilion. It was the perfect location for a private, small (20 guests) wedding.
Because our wedding was small we were able to book one of their packages, which meant they took care of the set-up, catering, and booking the photographer, florist and wedding cake baker (among many other things that came with the package). In essence, handling nearly everything on our behalf.
Our venue contact was Ella S and she was AMAZING. She patiently answered all of my emails and phone calls, and ensured our wedding day was just about perfect. The other day-of staff were wonderful as well.
Ella made all of my wedding dreams come true! I never thought I would be able to secure a date at the Equinox Pond. I found it on a hike one day with my dog and thought it was an absolute dream - one of the most beautiful places in the world. I reached out to the Equinox after my original wedding plans hadn't worked out, but never followed up because I thought I would never be able to get a date at my dream venue, the Pond. After a month, Ella followed up saying there were still openings for 2024 - an absolute dream! If she hadn't reached out it never would have happened. I also never expected this dream venue to be within my budget, but the Equinox was priced very similarly to other venues and was just as expensive as getting married in my parents backyard.
Ella continued to make our wedding dreams come true throughout the planning process, from helping us create an entirely gluten free menu with the chefs to sourcing particular Patron tequila to facilitating shuttles that picked up my guests from all over town. Not only that, she was an absolute joy to work with and brought order to the craziness of wedding planning with her color-coded emails. This wedding would not have happened without her and I couldn't have made it through wedding planning season without her!
The wedding was a dream - the pond is stunning, my guests said that the food was the best wedding food they've ever had (!!), and everyone was so kind and welcoming throughout.
Our wedding was amazing thanks to the staff at the Equinox. Special shout out to Ella, she was the perfect coordinator. Our day went perfect thanks to her!
We had our wedding in May of 2025, the first wedding at the Meadow Tent of the season! From the beginning, the staff at the Equinox was great to work with. Jill, Jackie were great accommodating all the overnight guests rooms we need and Ella was super attentive in the planning details of our big day. We lucked out and had the best weather and weekend ever. Can't thank the whole Equinox staff for such a warm and welcoming experience from start to finish. We can't wait to come back to visit!
We got married at the Equinox this past weekend and it surpassed our wildest expectations. We worked with Ella who helped us from the very beginning - touring the various venues, coordinating our tasting, and of course providing so much support on the weekend of! We had our rehearsal dinner at the Pond Pavillion and ceremony on 1811 lawn, followed by reception in the tent. Our guests loved the beautiful spaces and exploring all over Manchester. 12/10 weekend!
From start to finish, we could not have been happier with our wedding at the Equinox! The entire resort staff was nothing less than accommodating, making us feel at home each time we came to visit and throughout the wedding weekend. Ella, our Equinox coordinator, went above and beyond to ensure a seamless, fun and stress-free wedding day. From tying hundreds of ribbons onto custom menus, carrying my train in the rain, and everything in between, she was an unbelievable support system that my husband, bridal party and I didn’t even know we needed! Thank you thank you thank you to Ella and everyone at the Equinox <3
We had such an amazing experience working with the Equinox. This venue truly offers it all! we did 3 events there! Rehearsal, Wedding, and Farewell Brunch. Each event was hosted on a different location on site with a different menu, and our guests loved the convenience of being able to stay on site throughout the weekend and explore the local food, hiking trails, and shopping! This was such a stress free planning process with the help of the Equinox planner Ella, and she was such a life-saver throughout our events. Can't reccommend this place enough for your wedding, big or small! We did only 25 people, an intimate family wedding, and it was truly so special.
We hosted our wedding at The Equinox in October 2023 and it was everything we had hoped for and more! Ella was amazing to work with; she went above and beyond for us and executed on every detail the weekend of. Jill Vallo was also tremendously helpful with the room block and special accommodations for our family. The bartender at the Falcon Bar was a star of the weekend; she stayed open late both Friday & Saturday night for our guests. And the hors d’oeuvres and dinner prepared by Executive Chef Joseph Stewart for our reception were delicious. The list goes on and on and guests are still raving about the weekend. We wish we could relive it all over again and are so thankful for Ella and the whole Equinox team!
We had our rehearsal dinner at the Equinox Pond Pavilion and it was a dream come true! I grew up hiking around Equinox pond and had always dreamed of having a wedding event up at the pond since I was a little girl. Ella and Allison made that dream come true! They were so easy to work with, incredibly responsive, and just all around so helpful. Ella communicated with my fiance to plan the rehearsal dinner and was so organized and on top of it. I didn't have to worry about any of the details! The day went so smoothly, even with rain! We will remember it forever and always cherish those memories every time we hike up at Equinox pond in the future. We also had our post wedding brunch at Equinox Resort in the Colonnade Ballroom and it was incredible! The ballroom is beautiful and the food was amazing. Our guests are still raving about the waffles and the bacon! HIGHLY recommend this team for everything wedding related! Thank you Equinox, Ella and Allison for helping us execute our dream wedding!
We had a wonderful wedding experience at the Equinox. The Pond House with the reflection of Equinox mountain and it’s intimate, rustic feel made the day feel comfortable and relaxing.
The staff at the Equionx hotel were friendly and professional. Ella Salcido, our wedding coordinator, with the help of Allison McMaster, weddings and corporate events, saw us through the process of reserving the date to handling every detail through the day of the wedding. They worked with our various vendors beautifully and took care to make sure everything went smoothly.
Food and beverage was wonderful, thanks to chef Joseph Stewart and his team, taking special note of allergies and any preferences.
We hosted our wedding at the Equinox Pond Pavilion, an amazing physical setting on a pond at the base of the Equinox Mountain. We had our ceremony and the reception in the same location. Consider this largely an outdoor venue. Views are amazing and the historic boat house rustic but absolutely beautiful at night. We were lucky enough to be able to light the fireplace which created a gorgeous light and warmth throughout the space. We had outdoor fire pits as well. The team there is fabulous and met every need we had. The food excellent
Working with Ella was easy and efficient. While the rain had other plans for our day, the space was so beautiful that our guests didn't seem to mind!
Ella, our events coordinator was exceptional, she helped us in every detail of our wedding, she answered every question, and responded quickly! I was the calmest bride on my wedding day. My wedding was small and they took care of the decoration, I only gave them the elements (something that I didnt expect) The food and the service was amazing. The vendors that they recommended were exceptional! our family stayed at Equinox and they loved it!! Beautiful venue!
Overall, we had a great experience with the Equinox. They were attentive, kind, and so helpful the week of the wedding especially. It seemed liked they paid closest attention to us as our wedding got closer because they have a wedding or more every weekend at their facilities. The spa team went above and beyond in helping to set up a private yoga class. For our wedding, we chose the Lincoln Lawn for ceremony & cocktail hour, and the Colonnade Ballroom for reception. The views on the lawn with the spa and mountain backdrop cannot be beat - absolutely stunning and such a charming Vermont feel. It got pretty warm in the ballroom with everyone dancing because of record high heat on our wedding day and AC couldn't keep up, but our guests just rolled with it and didn't slow down the partying.
Just about everyone we worked with at Equinox was exceptional - shout out to the front desk team with our welcome bags, they were all so wonderful to us and all our questions. Unfortunately we did hear from many people that some of the bartenders at cocktail hour/ reception were rude towards our guests. Not everyone, just a select handful which is disappointing to hear but we personally had only positive interactions with all staff as bride and groom. Other than that, we had the most dreamy wedding day imaginable and we are so happy we booked the Equinox. Also highly recommend working with a wedding planner to help execute your vision and liaise with all vendors. We worked with Sarah from Big Apple Bride and she was phenomenal - we never had to stress about anything and she made it all so seamless: https://bigapplebride.com/ along with our phenomenal team of day of vendors:

Fantastic venue. Ella was especially helpful!
We chose to get married at the Pond Pavilion at the Equinox. We knew the moment we first saw the venue that it would be the place we would get married. The Pond Pavilion itself is a really cute space with a lovely fireplace on the pond, but its really the outdoor space where you have the ceremony that won us over. The pond itself, sitting at the foot of Mount Equinox, reflects the foliage and the leaves wonderfully. It was an amazing place to get married. From there, everything only got better, believe it or not. Most everything was taken care of for us - the setup, the catering, everything was included. And the food was absolutely incredible! The staff there were also excellent - everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. The venue coordinator Ella in particular was really helpful, and really helped make our day great. All in all it was an absolutely perfect choice. 10/10 would reccomend!
I have been dreaming of having my wedding at the Equinox for the past fifteen years, so this weekend was a long time in the making. Not only did it meet my expectations, it far exceeded them. I cannot say enough good things about working with the Benchmark team, the on-site team, Jill Vallo in accommodations, and Ella Salcido in event planning (the greatest collaborator on the planet!!). Everyone I encountered was kind, responsive, helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. Most notably, everyone went the extra mile when they had the chance to do so - something that is rare in hospitality today! The setting was perfect, the food was delicious (start to finish!!), the ambiance was welcoming, and all 175 of my guests had the time of their lives. Here's to hoping there is an Equinox vow renewal sometime in the (distant) future...
We had our wedding at the Equinox in September of 2022 and it was perfect. I could not think of a more beautiful wedding venue. We got married on the 1811 Lawn and had our reception in the Meadow Tent. The weather was amazing, and we got glowing reviews from our guests.
The team at the Equinox made us feel so supported throughout the entire wedding planning process. They were accommodating and responsive. Ella, Amanda and team really want to help make your wedding day perfect. We used almost all of their preferred vendors, and that made the day even smoother. They have great relationships with everyone and they know the Manchester, Vermont wedding scene well.
I do recommend hiring your own day-of wedding coordinator to help with certain things. The onsite team at the Equinox is amazing, but there are so many moving parts to your wedding day that having the day-of coordinator was very helpful!
We looked all over Vermont and NH, and soon as we walked in and met with Rachel - we knew this was the place. Every staff member was kind and courteous - always reaching out to make sure everything we were planning was coming along and if we needed anything to help. The day of our wedding, was no different, with vendors and family members pulling you in every direction. The Equinox staff seamlessly kept our day going without any disruptions. The rooms, location, and views around this small town are beautiful. I must say the only downside is that they can double book weddings on the same day as they have 3 locations available; however, only 1 coordinator. I give Rachel all the credit for keeping it together will all the multiple fall weddings.

We felt honored to be part of your wedding day! Our wedding sales manager has a team of helpers along with our staff to ensure every wedding is exactly as you had envisioned. And yes we do have three venue's for wedding, but fortunately they...
are very far apart so our brides feel as if they are the only one here. We hope to see you for your annivesary.
I try not to have favorites because I feel a wedding coordinator should maintain a certain level of objectivity. That being said, I ADORE everything at the Equinox Resort! From the resorts luxurious and historical accommodations to the attentive and professional staff. You can’t go wrong. Rachel and her team were amazing and were so attentive to my couple and their guests! I wish I could give 6 stars! The town of Manchester is magnificent and charm is around every corner. Selecting this venue for any aspect of your wedding weekend is sure to exceed expectations regardless of the season.

Thank you so much for such a glowing review! We hope to see you for your anniversary if not sooner.
We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Equinox over the summer. We held an intimate ceremony and dinner following. It was absolutely perfect and the natural backdrop is stunning. The views are incredible and we found the staff more than accommodating. It was everything we hoped it would be! Dinner was delicious and we found them easy to work with. Memorable!!

Such a beautiful time of the year to be married. Thank you for such lovely comments on our staff and we look forward to seeing back at the resort soon.
The Equinox shines in the high-season in Vermont, but for our winter/christmas wedding they glistened! About 4 months before our wedding the wedding manager left the Equinox, which left us a little shaken, that it until we met Rachel. She connected with us right away to continue the planning process and keep our momentum going. She was upfront about what she knew and what she needed to find out, and was always responsive and friendly. In addition to Rachel, I want to give a shout out to Jillian for helping with our room blocks. She was on top of things that we didn't even know existed when managing room blocks! In addition to Rachel & Jill, the entire Equinox staff helped make our wedding weekend go off without a hitch. Every step of the way we were met with a smile and making sure we were taken care of. The staff went above and beyond from champagne in our room, to chef whipping up garlic aioli for a guest, polite turn-down service, extra water in our bridal suite, and superb bellmen. We knew that we were in good hands having our wedding at the Equinox, but they all exceeded our expectations once again. We are sure to be back for many years to come.
I never complain but I would just like to warn those looking at the Equinox. We originally loved the Equinox because of the beautiful location, ability to have all the wedding activities at one spot and the friendly staff. After signing the contract, the friendliness quickly faded. We had picked the Equinox to be able to have our guests Stay there. The Equinox agreed to have a certain discount for the rooms to make it more affordable for our guests but when it came time to doing the actual room block they would not honor the discount and essentially no one was able to stay there and guests had to scramble to find elsewhere to stay. Then my wedding planner decided to quit a week before the wedding. We were given another wedding planner who was great but the day before the wedding she passed us off to a different wedding planner not even associated with the equinox, who I had never met and barely saw on my wedding day. Thank goodness our other vendors were fabulous or this day would’ve been a mess thanks to the Equinox. Also, the bar in the wedding was about 3-4$ more expensive per drink than the bar inside the hotel so a lot of our guests would frequently leave during the reception to the bar to get cheaper drinks. We were told originally we would be the only wedding there but a few months before I find out from my florist that there was another wedding there that weekend (not that big of a deal but just another lie told to us). Aside from all that, the scenery is beautiful and the food was great but be careful when choosing this vendor.
It's been nearly a year since my husband and I were married at the Equinox (yes, this is embarrassingly belated), and the only negative thing we have to say about the planning process was that it eventually had to come to an end. Every day, we look at each other and say how badly we wish we could go back to Vermont and do it all over again.
The resort itself, nestled right in the shadow of the mountains, is breathtaking. And from hiking, to outlet shopping, to fly-fishing and cheese tours, there really is something for everyone in Manchester. What makes this place so special, however, is the staff.
The minute we met Charlotte Callahan, the Equinox Wedding Coordinator, we knew we were in good hands. Charlotte's patience, enthusiasm, responsiveness, sense of humor, and knowledge of the industry are just a few of the things that make her a joy to work with. For nine months straight, Charlotte fielded our endless questions about anything and everything from vendors, to logistics, to decor, all with a smile on her face. She's a peach and a true professional, and we cannot thank her enough for all her guidance in making our night at the pond so perfect.
Another leading lady we were lucky enough to have in our corner was Ruth Whitelaw, the Equinox Director of Catering who was the day-of coordinator the night of our wedding. Like Charlotte, Ruth was nothing short of an all star. Want a table taken down? Ruth's already done it. Need batteries and a birthday candle? Ruth's already got some. Lost the father of the bride? Ruth's already found him. Ruth did everything in her power to make sure our big day went off without a hitch, and we couldn't be more grateful.
Additional shout outs to Kenny Valenzuela for all his hard work during our ceremony and reception, Nick Abraham for being so friendly and accommodating to all our guests at the front desk, Jody Hewes and Mimi Alford for all their help with our room block, Kim Albert for the endless laughs at our rehearsal dinner, and Jonathan Erthwhile for singlehandedly bringing all the leftover cupcakes, cookies, donuts, and Ben & Jerry's ice cream back to our suite for the after-party like some kind of superhuman dessert angel. Y'all are absolutely amazing.
I guess what I'm trying to say is if you can get married at the Equinox, do it. The resort's rich history, staggering views, and unparalleled service are truly second to none, and we are so thankful to have celebrated our special day there back in September. Book it- this will be the best decision you've ever made.
We got married at the Equinox Pond Pavilion June 10, 2017. The day was not only magical because it was our wedding day but because the venue is absolutely enchanting. Standing there under the clear blue sky with the back drop of Mount Equinox and its lush late spring greens we said our I-Do's in one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The entire staff at The Equinox was amazing. Firstly there is Charlotte Callahan who was our wedding coordinator. When she first showed us the venue we knew we had to do it there. To be honest it was the first place we looked at!! Throughout the entire planning process Charlotte made herself accessible to us at any time we needed to ask a question or concern. Charlotte is a knowledgeable and genuine person, her guidance and personality helped to make our wedding what it was, Thank you Charlotte :) The staff at the wedding was also amazing and responsive to all our guests needs throughout the night-Thank you all. Then there is the hotel itself, and what a hotel it is. The rooms are gorgeous, the food is amazing and the staff is responsive and kind. The Equinox and their staff is a 10/10 place- thank you- Mike and Trisha
Wedding date: October 1st, 2016
Venue: Equinox Resort & Spa, Manchester, VT
My now husband and I took a trip to check out wedding venues a few years back. We were looking for a rustic venue with a picturesque nature and water around it. This was the first place we visited. Although the Inn looks beautiful, it didn’t match our expectations at first glance. However, upon meeting staff and being shuttled to the pavilion (which could not be directly seen from the Inn), we found the perfect hidden gem. It has an outstanding view of water and mountains as well as the a rustic cabin feel. It feels like you are away but you are still close enough to the beautiful town of Manchester and all that it has to offer. We ended up visiting several other venues on this trip and subsequent trips but ultimately came back to this perfect spot at The Equinox. While others hit one or two of our checkboxes this one checked them all!
The event staff was a pleasure to work with. We initially started off with one event coordinator who ended up leaving during our planning process. While this can be stressful, the transition to our new coordinator Charlotte was very smooth and we were lucky have planned with her! Since we are not locals they were able to accommodate us with our travel plans. The food tasting was phenomenal and we had a hard time cutting down our choices. We decided to go with a buffet style. We also skipped having a cake and decided to go with desserts. They worked with us to create several fall style desserts which were very tasty, including their own homemade cider donuts.
Our wedding day was organized very well and went smoothly. Ruth was the coordinator of the day and did an amazing job keeping with the timeline. Whenever dealing with a member of staff it was a pleasurable experience. If a problem arose whether it be monetary or a type service, it was handled well and reasonably. We had a great experience having our wedding at The Equinox pavilion (they have a ballroom as well) and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for that perfect mix of rustic, history, and nature.
We cannot say enough amazing things about the total experience we had at the Equinox nor do we grow tired of the constant compliments we still hear from our guests. Our wedding took advantage of all the resort has to offer: we rented out the 1811 House, hosted a welcome party at the pond pavilion, and had our reception in the Colonnade Ballroom. All of this required quite a bit of planning and my wife only sang the highest of praises about Charlotte and all the work she did to coordinate our many wedding events. Her attention to detail, prompt responses, flexibility, thoughtfulness to vendors and guests, creativity of ideas (honestly, we could go on and on and on!) let us know we were in the most competent and trusted hands. The beauty of the resort is something to be seen, nestled at the foot of Mount Equinox in the picturesque town of Manchester. The rolling hills of Vermont provided an unprecedented backdrop to our outdoor ceremony that left guests in awe. As someone with a culinary background and just a guy who likes to eat, having a wedding where the guests enjoyed the food was a priority. The Equinox delivered above and beyond anything we could have expected! Over the two-day event our guests sampled over 12 passed hors d'oeuvres, countless desserts, various entrees, and a farewell brunch. The welcome party had a buffet and the wedding reception was a plated event. Our wedding really exposed us to all the exceptional talents of the Equinox chef and kitchen. Many guests told us that the food at our wedding was the best they had experienced at any wedding. One other thing we want to highlight is the exceptional staff. They absolutely went above and beyond to accommodate our guests and make them as comfortable as possible. When a guest complained about the reception room being too hot a staff member brought him cold towels to keep him cool. Charlotte and everyone at the Equinox did an amazing job planning every single detail of our wedding weekend and we absolutely cannot say enough positive things about our experience—they are an incredibly talented team and put together the most exceptional of events. We enjoyed working with Charlotte so much, we hope to stay in touch with her for many years to come!
Our reception was at the Pond Pavilion at the Equinox and it was magnificent. I am thrilled with how stunning our day was- our guests were speechless as they crossed the bridge onto the walkway leading to the pavilion.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was "so Vermont"
we loved it and so did our guests.
The Equinox itself was also amazing! We were treated like King and Queen the entire weekend!
The Equinox Resort is absolutely beautiful. We had a fairy tale, out of the world wedding and we have had countless guests tell us they have never been to a more beautiful, fun wedding. The resort itself has a great spa and amazing deck with a huge fire pit. It is an awesome spot to hang out with friends after your reception or during your wedding weekend. We had our wedding at the pond pavilion- WOW, it is the most gorgeous spot in the world- Right at the base of the Equinox mountain, with a clean pond, and a rustic pavilion that sits literally in the water. It is like you are in a whole new wonderful world when you are at the pond. There were no bugs either, which was a big concern of some of my friends. The food was amazing and the staff was very flexible. We ended up changing the time of our dessert buffet and moving the DJ outside so we could dance the night away under the stars on the stone patio. The suite we stayed in was the most beautiful suite we have ever stayed in or laid eyes on. It was huge- 2 bathrooms, 2 floors, clean, but still had some old, vintage charm (not to mention 24 hour room service- get that turkey sandwich late night and in the morning, order breakfast because it was to die for). Although I encountered some bumps in the road when planning my wedding at the equinox- with our room block, some catering issues, and a small transportation issue, the staff at the Equinox did everything they could to make any mistake or inconvenience up to me. They ensured I was a happy bride and went above and beyond to make up for anything that i was even a little unhappy about. They did not stop at just resolving the issue. I still am in disbelief that our wedding was truly perfect. Nothing is perfect, right? Wrong!! Our wedding was truly magical and absolutely out of this world. My bridesmaids keep saying they feel bad for anyone who has to get married after us...well, UNLESS they do it at the Equinox too.
I just got married 2 days ago at the Equinox and could not wait to review it. The hotel was amazing and did an absolutely fantastic job. I am from Vermont originally but live on Boston now so outside of a few visits to the site most of the planning was done remotely. Charlotte the event planner was fantastic. She was quick to respond and able to meet special requests even when we asked for them last minute. Jody Hewes was the room block cooridnator and emailed back and forth with me no less then 30 times to accommodate my family and friends and make adjustments whenever I asked for them.
As for the actual site and weekend it was gorgeous. The weather was perfect so that helped, however the hotel was lovely and the staff was extremely helpful. All bellhops and staff knew who my husband and I were and addressed us by name when they saw us. The bridal suite is gigantic and overlooks the lawn we got married in. It fit my 10 bridesmaids. 3 hair dressers a makeup artists and my family easily. We called the front desk for all sorts of things (a steamer, pitchers of juice, etc) and they were brought up promptly.
When it came time for the actual ceremony, everytime I needed direction Charlotte appeared with a friendly direction. I never needed to go looking for her or felt lost because she wasn't there, however she was not hovering or ever present so my special moments with my friends and family were private and uninterrupted.
We got married on the lawn and the cocktail hour was immediately following after and it went off without a hitch. The reception was in the colonade which was beautiful and the staff had taken care of the tablescapes to my exact instruction. we had baked chicken with risotto and summer veggies which was hot and yummy.
ALL of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and that it was one of the most pleasant weddings they had ever been to. I would highly highly recommend the Equinox for a venue.
I hesitated for months to write this because I had such a mixed experience with the Equinox. But I think it's important that couples know what to expect. With foreknowledge, my experience with the Equinox MIGHT have been more positive! I will also say, that my daughter doesn't share my opinions about the Equinox, fortunately for her, it was the perfect day!
My biggest complaint with the Equinox is the multiple discrepancies between a quoted price from one of their employees compared to what I was billed for and/or was part of the final estimate. I would warn anyone thinking of using them not to stop looking at other locations until you finally receive your formal quote. In our situation, my daughter and her fiance let the other options go after receiving a verbal confirmation that they would fit within their TOTAL budget. The final quote was a couple of thousand over the amount they gave them AND it did not include numerous aspects such as flowers, cake, decor, etc., but by then it was too late to start over with a new location. For myself, when I checked out of the hotel they offered to just email me my receipt, but fortunately I had them print it off and found 3 more discrepancies. They were quick to correct them, but they shouldn't have been on there at all.
My second criticism is regarding the quality of food and lodging. The rooms in the main building have not retained their historical charm so I would expect them to be luxurious by today's standards. They are not. First and foremost, there were no closets in our room, only a small wardrobe. So the only place to hang the wedding dress where it wouldn't wrinkle was on the crown molding. Secondly, over the years when they've repainted they haven't bothered to sand or remove the old loose paint so the doors and trim look like what you'd expect in a seedy motel. The mildew in the shower just adds to the overall dinginess. That's not character - that's tacky.
Then there's the food! I was not impressed by ANY of the food during our weekend stay. We ate in the Chop House for dinner one night, the Colonnade for breakfast and then of course, the catered meal for the wedding. Nothing stood out and some dishes were very disappointing. Oh, and don't bother to ask for a French 75, apparently none of their bartenders knows how to make one properly! I also had a meat & cheese tray sent up along with a pitcher of orange juice and $47 bottle of champagne for a light snack while we were getting ready so I didn't have bridesmaids passing out during the wedding. The selection was good and the additional fruit tray was a nice surprise, but the $375 bill, was not! My fault. I should have confirmed the total price with the concierge before signing off on it, but it was a bit hectic at that time. Also, if you choose to use their apple cider donuts for favors, make sure they are made fresh that day. They go stale very fast!
The one thing I will say in their favor is with the exception of the poor service in the Chop House, the rest of the staff bent over backwards to take care of us. If anything, at times they were a bit too enthusiastic, but their eagerness to please and their over all kindness mitigated some of my ire at paying so much for what seems to me to be anything but luxurious.
Vermont is a beautiful and romantic location for a wedding, even in the winter. I'm willing to bet, however, that there are other locations that offer more for less.

Dear retrdmom,
We received your review and thank you for your feedback. We apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations but we are, however, happy that it did not affect the bride and groom or any attendees of the wedding. Tha...
nk you for giving us the opportunity to connect so that we could resolve your issues to your complete satisfaction. Once again, congratulations on your daughter's marriage.
This resort is beautiful and our dream wedding was so perfectly memorable because of the amazing staff and beautiful scenery. Everyone from the wedding coordinators to the bellmen were amazing! The rooms and suites are beautiful and the food is the best in New England.
I had my wedding at the Pond Pavilion at the Equinox Resort. Great Fall venue, beautiful grounds! The food was great, and the catering staff was awesome! The service at the reception was amazing! We loved the bread pudding!
The Equinox provides a wedding (event) planner when you have a wedding there. Lauren was wonderful to work with, and does an incredible job managing the stress. Our entire wedding would not have been possible without her. She coordinates every detail smoothly, and makes the entire process more fun.
Lauren (coordinator) adn Shelly (pastry chef) at the Equinox were incredible, and made the process easy and our wedding day so special and worry-free. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff, the beauty of the venue, the smoothness of each transition throughout the day, or the food and desserts!!! Their extra touches made us feel very cared for and added something more to what is already a fantastic, all-inclusive site.
Overall, our experience at the Equinox was very good. The decor and accommodations were gorgeous, the food was fantastic, and they took good care of a lot of the details. However, there were a few drawbacks. First, it was quite expensive. We had our wedding during the offseason, so the rates weren't as bad as they could have been, but it was still quite high. Second, they switched wedding planners about half way through planning my wedding and the second one (Lauren) left a lot to be desired. She gave the impression of being on top of everything, but forgot a lot of details in the end. Maybe she'll get better once she has more experience, but if I were doing it all over again I would have hired a day-of wedding planner to pick up some of her slack.
overall an amazing and stunning location for the wedding. needed to stay on top of wedding coordinator which was stressful but the hotel is top notch and the food was quite good. Service from the staff working the event was wonderful.
The Pond Pavilion at the Equinox provided the most magnificent backdrop to our wedding day. The Falcon Bar with the live music and huge firepit were wonderful venues following the Rehearsal Dinner and actual wedding! We could not have asked for a better location. If you like the outdoors, but also want to feel pampered, this is the spot for you.
We got married down on the pond at the Equinox. The setting could not have been any more perfect! Our guests raved about how beautiful it was and the service was worth every dime of gratuity. The Pavilion is perfect for small, intimate weddings like mine, and you can't beat the backdrop! Additionally, the wedding coordinator was beyond helpful, everything ran smoothly and I greatly appreciated being stress free knowing she was taking care of everything.
While the reception went very smoothly (minus their forgetting to provide the complimentary champagne toast), the hotel front desk staff leave much to be desired! They we unhelpful, rude, and miscommunicated important information to our guests. We spent the afternoon of our rehearsal scrambling to fix their misdoings!
I can't say enough wonderful things about the Ponds Pavillion at the Equinox Resort and Spa! I would highly recommend this venue for the most beautiful scenery and rustic location! Staff is wonderful and food was the best wedding food any of our guests ever had! :)
I got married at the Pond Pavilion the site was beautiful. Even thought it was a 90 degree day in May something I was totally unprepared for. The site was perfect. The staff was nothing but helpful. The second the ceremony was over I had a bottle of water in my hand something I needed but would never have thought of. Our day was perfect from start to finish thanks to the wonderful staff at the Equinox. My family and wedding party rented our the entire 1811 house they have. It was perfect had it's own kitchen, bar and a beautiful backyard. If you are looking for the perfect weeding venue I highly recommend the Equinox.
