At The Farm, our story is rooted in Montana heritage and thoughtfully reimagined for unforgettable wedding celebrations. Originally built in 1903, the iconic red barn has stood for generations as part of a working ranch in Bigfork, MT. In 2020, the Averill family began a new chapter, taking over management of the Wrangler Springs property and embarking on an extensive restoration of the land—reviving pastures, fences, barns, and fields across 500 acres. Today, the ranch is once again fully operational, raising cattle, horses, and crops while preserving the traditions of the Old West. At the heart of the property sits the barn—a space long admired and ultimately transformed into a gathering place meant to be shared. What began as a structural restoration evolved into a careful, six-month remodel led by local craftsmen, guided by a simple goal: preserve the history and character while introducing thoughtful touches of elegance and comfort. Throughout the barn, original elements have been intentionally preserved and repurposed. Historic horse stalls now serve as one-of-a-kind bar and seating areas, while former tack and feed rooms have been converted into restrooms. Reclaimed wood from the property has been used for trim and finishes, and the building’s original lighting, hay trolley, and architectural details remain—celebrated rather than concealed. Even the imperfections—the aged wood, timeworn marks, and unlevel windows—tell the story of the barn’s past, now complemented by rustic wood flooring and warm, ambient lighting that create an inviting setting for dining and dancing. Set atop a hill, the barn offers sweeping 360-degree views of the Flathead Valley, with a striking turquoise, spring-fed pond below providing a stunning natural backdrop. Located just 30 minutes from Glacier National Park, The Farm offers couples an authentic Montana ranch experience—both scenic and deeply rooted in place. The property’s continued growth is supported in part by the Paladin Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to preserving Western heritage by teaching farming and ranching skills to youth in the Bigfork community. This connection to land, history, and community remains central to everything we do.
