About this vendor
The Figge Art Museum is a unique wedding venue located in Davenport, IA. This gleaming, luminous glass building overlooking the Mississippi River was designed by David Chipperfield, one of Britain's most renowned architects. It offers a stunning stage for any event, and promises a celebration that will stand out.
The opaque and translucent surfaces on Figge Art Museum's exterior are its own work of art. Inside, the Grand Lobby boasts a dramatic open floor plan, high ceilings, terrazzo flooring, a contemporary lounge, and striking river views. Your guests will celebrate among the Midwest's finest art collections and world-class traveling exhibitions. If desired, you may opt to expand your party outdoors, to the terrace on the south or the plaza on the north. You also have the option of full museum rental, which allows your guests time to stroll the galleries and special exhibitions. If you're planning a more intimate gathering, consider the Dining Room and Bar. A neutral color scheme and modern decor make the dining room easy to transform to suit any wedding theme. This intimate space is the ideal location for rehearsal dinners, luncheons, or gift-opening brunch. It also features large windows offering spectacular views of the river. The adjacent bar has a relaxed lounge feel, and can be stocked with your favorite top-shelf beverages to meet the needs of all your guests.
The Certified Wedding and Event Coordinator at the Figge Art Museum has approximately 15 years of experience, and will be there to provide guidance through the planning process and be a point of contact the day-of to make sure your wedding and reception at the Figge Art Museum is a beautiful experience for you and your guests. In addition, the venue offers a wide range of event rentals, including tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, and silverware. For your convenience, the team will provide setup and cleanup services, and your guests can even enjoy discounted rates at select nearby hotels. What a wonderful event we held at Figge Art Museum! Josie and her staff were on top of it when planning the big day for my bride and groom! Chelsea was wonderful to work with as well for the catering! Highly recommend them all and hosting your event there!
Such a beautiful space and the flow from inside outdoors to the terrace gave it a spacious and expansive feel. And the view of the Mississippi River is so unique.
Staff was incredibly welcoming and professional. Everything was executed flawlessly. The catering was delicious and our guests raved about everything.
Perfect evening- five stars!!!
The Figge is a beautiful rental space. When I looked into renting, I read many mixed reviews about experiences and they seemed to be tied to museum event staff at the time. I found this to be very true and in my case, unfortunately, my experience was negative.
The day of my wedding was perfect, but attempting to confirm details or get answers from the staff prior to my wedding was like pulling teeth. At one point, I had to call the company the Figge contracts with and ask if my point of contact still worked there because it had been months that I'd been attempting to reach her. There was no honest attempt at righting the lack of communication, nor did I receive an apology or explanation as to why I hadn't heard from anyone.
I was shocked by the lack of follow through during my experience too. For example, early on in the process, I met with three of our wedding vendors in one day. The Figge was our first meeting, and I had several follow up questions and was promised an email with the information I'd been requesting. Then we went to our second vendor, who finalized details and emailed us information and confirmation details within an hour. The third was our floral and decor vendor. They sent us an itemized contract and quote within two hours of our visit. I didn't receive anything from the Figge by the end of the day, but figured it was fair to give them a week to reply. So I did. And I waited another week. After two weeks, I started reaching out asking for the answers to my questions via email and voicemails. I had to chase down the information I was looking for, ultimately receiving it from my contact's supervisor months later because I wasn't getting responses to my outreach. The most frustrating part was the supervisor gave me 75% of the answers right away on the phone and 25% by email within 45 minutes of our phone call, solidifying my belief that I wasn't asking hard questions!
I also signed my rental contract over a year in advance, yet received an "updated" contract SIX days before my wedding that was thousands of dollars higher than the original. If you are a bride reading this review, you can understand how stressful that can be to have such a burden added to your plate the week of your wedding. Again, the response we received to our concerns was not customer service oriented. Instead, the staff acted the surprised we were upset with the bill because, in her words, "the contract is just a suggestion." What?!
I would not recommend contracting with the Figge. Don't settle for anything less than 5 star service for your big day.
Excellent venue for a wedding reception. The space is beautiful with multiple rooms (bar, cafe, grand ballroom, patio), the catering was excellent, the staff wonderful to work with, and set-up just as planned. There is plenty of parking in the area, and the space lends itself to flexibility. Five stars for sure.
Exceptional! The customer service is wonderful. The food was amazing. And this place is very beautiful! Couldn't have asked for a better location for my Wedding Reception. Highly recommended!
I held my wedding reception at the Figge Art Museum and have nothing but praise for Dave, Dave and all their staff. They worked beautifully with the other vendors I hired, set up and tore down everything for my family, leaving only the loading of the decorations into the vehicles for us. The food was AMAZING and they even prepared extra food for my husband and I to eat later on! Dave worked so well with us as we were planning this wedding from 200 miles away. He responded to emails and made sure everything ran smoothly. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride that is looking to have their reception in the Quad Cities. It was worth every penny we spent.
