The Fleurtations Motown & Soul Band

If you are wondering if a Motown & Soul band is a good idea for your wedding, the answer is a resounding yes! Fluertations is an AMAZING band specializing in Motown & Soul music, a genre choice that makes it that much more special/memorable for a wedding (trust me - just read below). We spent a lot of time researching bands because guest experience was our #1 focus (aside from the food, music was super important to us!). Wedding bands can be hard because you want your guests to dance all night, you want the music to reach all ages/preferences, and we in particular were not looking for a typical cover band kind of thing. We searched around a bit and when we fell upon Fleurtations, we immediately fell in love with the music. I mean these musicians are seriously talented and passionate – their voices! Their overall sound! It was a masterpiece – at times, I couldn’t believe this was our wedding! You know when a band manages to just bring everyone together and keep the good vibes going? That was them, all night long. I am the bride and I didn’t even leave the dance floor once, haha. Motown & Soul is so good for reaching people across age groups and preferences. Its just classic and people come together around that! Some people at first told us – oh, you should really get a dee jay for your wedding because it can be better for dancing, but we were set on a band. So we put together play list so we could play pop music for part of the night (they have a great Bose system and so can totally do that if you want, but I do not recommend it because they are TOO AMAZING to have stand by while you play it). After they played the first set, I immediately regretted that decision and asked John if the band could play the second set (we had hired them the whole time but were going to play the playlist for an hour or so). They were totally accommodating on the fly and played the whole night after all – and we could not have been happier. Our guests seriously danced the WHOLE time! Many people were smitten (including us) by the voices of some of the vocalists – truly gorgeous. We also hired Fleurtations for our ceremony music and they did an outstanding job on that, as well (big shout out to Kelly and the other members who rocked Louis Armstrong to Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald – simply beautiful, I will never forget the memory of walking down the aisle to La Vie en Rose!). Finally, for everything they did and brought to our day, they fit in nicely within our budget (though, guests probably thought we broke the bank to hire them – there are 9 of them and we had them for hours!). We couldn't be happier with the music on our wedding day. Our guests raved about them and still compliment us, stating that it was the best wedding band they’ve danced to. This group is new to the scene, but I have a feeling they are going to really hit it big in New Orleans and beyond. They are extremely talented, super professional musicians who were a joy to work with on such a special day in our lives. So I’d say it’s a WIN-WIN-WIN. Just hire them, they are an outstanding group of musicians! You'll be so happy you had a unique wedding band!
