-About the Ford Piquette Plant
The Ford Piquette Plant is recognized as one of the most significant historic automotive sites in
the world since it is the birthplace of the Model T. Early automobile models B, C, F, K, N, R,
and S were all built at the Piquette Plant.
Some of the first women to work in the auto industry fabricated magneto parts at the Piquette
Plant. They were referred to as the “Magneto Girls.”
-How the Plant Was Saved:
After many decades, the old factory fell into disrepair and was slated for demolition. However, in the
year 2000, a small group of dedicated citizens from the Henry Ford Heritage Association and
community activists banded together and purchased the building.
Restoration of the plant is being done through volunteers. The Window Team, one of the volunteer
groups, has rebuilt by hand more than 290 of the original 355 windows. The replacement glass was
donated by Guardian Industries.
-A National Historic Landmark
Today, the Piquette Plant is a museum and learning center. It was
designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006. It is also a City, State
and Federal Historic site. It has been registered as a National Heritage
Site.
Ford Piquette Plant is owned and operated by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Model T Automotive Heritage Complex Inc. and is not affiliated or funded by the Ford Motor Company.

When looking for a venue we didn't want something that has been done before. After we toured the Piquette Plant for the first time we fell in love. The character of the museum and ...
history it has added such an awesome vibe for our wedding. Ginger and her staff were great with helping us plan our big day and day of coordinating. We have had so many comments on the uniqueness of the venue and how cool getting to walk around and check things out was. If you're looking for more then just a venue and an more of an overall experience for your day I can't recommend Ford Piquette Plant more!
It was everything we wanted and more!!! Ginger and get team were so helpful with planning and set up! If you love fords and old cars this is the place!!!
We are beyond thrilled that we had our reception here. It was a large wedding and right away Ginger and her staff were super helpful in figuring out a way to host everyone. Ginger ...
had great communication throughout the entire planning process and was an immense help on the night of (with her other staff too!) in making sure that everything ran smoothly. The cars/string lights are kept up during the events so it really added to the decorative allure of the venue. We also hired docents to give talking tours to wedding guests during the cocktail hour, which was a bit hit! They even have one car that people can sit and take photos in. Overall, we had a great experience with Ginger and her team and would highly recommend this venue to others!
This venue was perfect for our wedding. Everything looked amazing and Ginger was awesome to work with! I would definitely recommend this venue!
I originally fell in love with this venue when I came to tour it in person in May. My finance and I were in love with the idea of a NYE wedding but we were extremely transparent on...
our vision and date throughout the entire process. The event coordinator never gave us any impression that it would be an issue.
I asked for a contract to review/sign almost immediately and had to wait a week only for the COO/President to say they weren't able to accommodate me. After some discussion she realized they thought I had requested for the 2022 year (which I had actually asked for the 2023 year) and said they would reevaluate for the correct date I actually wanted.
After weeks of following up via email and phone (calling both the coordinator and the COO) I finally got someone to answer just for them to tell me they are increase the venue price over double the originally discussed amount (over $8,000 more) due to staffing issues for my specific date (mind you this is a BYO venue).
I was considering switching my date because I loved the space soo much but on top of the misleading information and lack of urgency to get back to me in a timely manner, the COOs communication style was extremely off putting and left a sour taste in my mouth for this venue. I did not feel like they value assisting me in making this the best day ever.
Jeff Pollock was so helpful throughout our wedding planning. He is super accommodating and timely in his responses. Ford Piquette is a really a cool place to get married and celeb...
rate your wedding. The history and character of the building really make this venue shine. If you like history, old cars, Detroit, awesome vendor staff and want to wow your guests with a unique and special venue then Ford Piquette is the way to go.
Jeff is amazing. After a nightmare pandemic wedding situation he came through for us and executed an event that was even better that what either of us had imagined. If anything wen...
t wrong, we had no idea...and what more could you ask from a venue. Also why have your wedding in a stuffy hall when you can have it in a car museum?! There is also an option to provide a tour for your guests and our guests loved this option. Could not recommend this venue enough!
Jeff Pollock is the most incredible event manager this world has ever seen. He cares deeply for the happiness and joy of the couples. He makes real connections and makes the experi...
ence so perfect and thorough. He was the biggest help and cheerleader for our big day in the midst of the pandemic planning.
This venue is obviously one of the most beautiful lost treasures in Detroit for a wedding, but more importantly, the staff like Jeff Pollock make the experience unforgettable, so why choose anywhere else?
Just wow. This place is beautiful. We had our wedding here on March 7, 2020 and even though I planned every part of it, I could never have imagined how stunning the venue would loo...
k. It was *exactly* what I wanted. The history, the beautiful character of the building, the lights, the mood...all amazing. We worked with Jeff leading up to and on the day, I can't say enough good things about Jeff. He worked hard for us, answered my many questions, was responsive and there when I needed him. Jeff's personality worked well with mine, as he's much more calm than I am. It was easy to work with him and feel like it was all going to work out. While you do need to bring in all your vendors, he does a great job helping you out and suggesting the best vendors. The entire day went smooth and I wouldn't do a thing differently. I honestly cannot imagine my wedding anywhere else and if I ever had to plan one again (God please no), I would want it to be at the Piquette Plant with Jeff. Our guests LOVED the Piquette Plant, we heard several times that it was the most unique, beautiful venue they had ever visited. We ended up loving this place so much we visited many more times than necessary before the wedding just to take it all in. You will absolutely not regret having your wedding (or any event) here, it will be more beautiful than you can ever imagine.
Accommodating and super fun to work with. Tables and chairs included. We added a tour guide for cocktail hour which was a huge hit!
Jeff was fantastic at the Piquette plant. Him and his staff made sure that everything leading up to our wedding and the night of went smoothly. I would recommend any bride to have ...

Jeff - the event manager at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant- was great to work with. He was quick to respond to our questions/concerns, very hands-on the week of wedding and overall just very easy to work with!

If you want a unique venue this is definitely it! The building is beautiful on its own but once transformed into a wedding venue it really is unlike anything else. We just had our ...
wedding there and could not have been happier. I will say that this is not a one stop shop when it comes to weddings. Be prepared to bring in everything needed, plates, bartenders, etc. but the extra work was definitely worth it for the end result!

un it. Asked a couple of times for handicap access but was just told no one was available to run the freight elevator. Bathrooms are also a nightmare. Womens on one floor mens on another floor, so more step climbing. If invited to another wedding their I would no go.

d not have their event-planning department quite up and running. However, once they hired Bob all was well! Bob made sure that our wedding was the day of our dreams. He was prompt to respond to our endless contacts, worked with all of our vendors, allowed flexibility in our rehearsal and made sure that we knew about, and appreciated the uniqueness of the venue. He is truly a gem and the Ford Piquette Plant is lucky to have someone so knowledgeable and personable. The day of our wedding Bob was there, along with many members of the friendly staff, to make sure our day was perfect. We received so many compliments on how beautiful and unique the venue was, and our pictures turned out to be stunning! If you are able to snag a date at this beautiful, historic venue, I highly recommend doing so!
