The Forester Hotel

The Forester is a wedding venue located in Forest Lake, IL, a city founded on the motto of “Love of Science and Nature.” The hotel takes this motto to heart, and prides itself on preservation and tradition as well as innovation and modern amenities. Lake Forest is an idyllic destination on Chicago’s North Shore that provides breathtaking views of Lake Michigan, sandy beaches, and centuries-old cobblestone streets. You and your loved ones are invited to explore the town and then gather in the boutique-inspired hotel for a beautiful and bespoke wedding experience. The Forester Hotel is a contemporary and chic property that just opened in April of 2021. The venue has two large ballrooms that can be customized for your ceremony and reception needs. The smaller of these, the Lupine Room, accommodates 80 guests, while the larger Aster Room can hold up to 120 people. Both spaces feature floor to ceiling windows that bathe them in natural light. A pre-function room can serve for day-of preparations, while you are welcome to get ready in one of the 10 suites that the hotel offers. On-site accommodations are plentiful, as the hotel boasts 156 spacious and comfortable rooms and suites, which can be booked in blocks for out-of-town guests. The hotel’s restaurant, Oaken Bistro + Bar, provides seasonal bites for your reception meal, craft cocktails and beer, and a locally-baked cake for your centerpiece. The staff is friendly and helpful, and an on-site coordinator will work with you to plan your big day. All tables and chairs, linens, and dishware are included, and amenities include free parking and a fitness center. While the Forester doesn’t provide a shuttle service, they can recommend a preferred vendor to ferry your guests to and from the venue.
