We knew we wanted our wedding reception to be beautiful, but, more importantly, fun! There was never a question for us that we would have a live band, but we weren’t certain which group to pick since we do not live in Vermont where we were planning to get married. One of our vendors had worked with the Funk Collection before and suggested we check them out. Wow. Not only could they play current hits but they knew all the funk, soul, classic rock, and jazz songs we love. We hired them based solely on what we heard on their website and an email back and forth with Tom. When it came to the actual reception, though, we realized just how good they are. They kept the party going all night, shifting easily from ballads to blues and soul to fast and slow dance numbers. We were having so much fun we asked them to play an extra hour at the end which they were able to accommodate. All through the reception and all the next day our guests commented on the great energy and talented playing the Funk Collection provided. If you have a wedding or another big event coming up and the Funk Collection is available, our advice? BOOK THEM!
These guys rocked!! From start to finish, they really made the party. On top of the amazing funk music, they handled introductions for the wedding party and made announcements throughout the night so people knew what was going on. I wouldn't have thought this a big deal, but had been at weddings in the past where people looked to the person with the microphone for guidance ("can we dance now", "can we eat", "what is going on") and blew it. These guys kept things rolling all the way through. They learned all the songs we asked for first dances and mom/dad dances so there was never recorded music for the big songs which was awesome of them. All in all great band, nice people, had a blast.
