We hired the Funk Crusaders as our wedding band, and they truly exceeded our expectations. They were excetionally easy to work with which can't be understated in wedding vendors! D...
espite some logistical hiccups on our wedding day (including a brief spell of rain) they handled everything with such grace and cheerfulness—even pausing during their setup to get me a glass of water!
When it came to the music, they absolutely nailed it. Their customizable setlist had something for everyone, creating beautiful memories as family members of all ages filled the dance floor. I was amazed by how good the music was and how entertaining they were, and their lights, outfits, and overall vibe made it feel like the best party ever.
I can’t recommend the Funk Crusaders enough for any event where you need live music—they’ll make your occasion truly unforgettable. <3
The Funk Crusaders were absolutely outstanding at our wedding. Mike was so easy to work with in coordinating the music for our ceremony and reception. They provided all of the eq...
uipment, and funky musical chops needed to ensure our day was incredibly special. We received so many compliments throughout the evening that we're hoping to see The Funk Crusaders again soon at other family and friends events!
The absolute highlight of our wedding, hands down. Just book them! We are SO HAPPY we booked the Funk Crusaders! They were so much FUN! I can't count the number of guests that came...
up to me to say how amazing the band was. Mike and the band were super professional, punctual, and most importantly, rocked our socks off! They gave us a huge selection of songs to customize the set list for the event, and they even learned a few custom songs for us. The MCing was smooth and kept the energy up and kept the night moving on schedule. We had a complicated outdoor venue but they had no problems setting up for the cocktail hour and reception. They really made the night something special for our guests. We will be following their schedule and plan to see them at at all of their public shows whenever we can. Thank you so much Mike, Jim, Wade, and the rest of the Crusaders!
We were so happy to have the Funk Crusaders play our wedding! Our dance floor was PACKED! We hired them after seeing them at a friend's wedding, and couldn't have been happier with...
their professionalism and great energy :)
Having the Funk Crusaders play at our wedding was an absolute dream! Their personalities are laid back, funny, and energetic. I loved their good natured humor, and it was so easy t...
o create a customized set list to get our guests dancing. Funk Crusaders were communicative, punctual, and professional. Not only are these perfect qualities for a wedding vendor, which can be a highly stressful experience, they were also very affordable for a live wedding band. In addition to playing around 20 songs, they also D.J.-ed a playlist that we created to establish the personal wedding experience we were looking for. It was the best of both worlds and a knock out experience for our guests to get down on the dance floor.
The Funk Crusaders were phenomenal in their performance, DJing, MCing, correspondence and overall professionalism for our wedding reception. The night would not nearly have been as...
lively and fun (and affordable) with any other band.
Mike, the band correspondent, was very responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. He gave us the option to request specific songs from their deep catalog or simply allow them to design a setlist for us. He also offered to learn a few songs not on the setlist that we wanted to hear (we requested “Love Never Felt So Good” by Michael Jackson and they nailed it). As an MC, Mike followed our wedding schedule to a T and kept the event rolling at a smooth and unforced pace. During band breaks, he put on a playlist that was programmed to play as soon as they stopped. Sounds trivial, but it kept people on the dance floor with no break in the action.
The performance itself was perfect. The setlist they designed alongside our selections catered to all generations. The band specializes in Motown, funk and rock, so our aunts and uncles were dancing just as much as our friends and cousins.
We highly recommend choosing the package with brass instruments. It didn’t cost much more than the standard package and was still more affordable than ALL the other bands we looked at. The sax and trumpet did the songs justice and made every song kick.
Put your wedding anxiety to rest and pick this band.
The Funk Crusaders played out wedding and were the best part of the whole night. People afterwards could not stop talking about how great the music was. They had everyone (all 150 ...
guest) on their feet for over 4 hours dancing non-stop. Even learned a few songs special for us. They have tons of great energy and really connected with the crowd all night. The members of the band were all very nice too. All around best experience we could have asked!
