The Gables at Chaddsford is a beautiful venue! Our wedding was during a transitional period for their management group, and while at times we were a bit on edge, the current management team that they have put into place did an outstanding job with our special day!
When faced with adversity the banquet team stepped up to the challenge and made our wedding day a day to truly remember. They took care of us hand and foot from assistance with set up and break down, to ideas to really bring the night alive.
We would recommend them to anyone looking to book a venue in the area.
I first off want to say that I would have changed nothing about my wedding day. The day itself generally was very smooth and all the guests raved about the food and the venue looked beautiful. The drinks were well made and there was never a shortage.
Now the reasons for why this venue gets 3 stars:
-The turn over is very high for staff: my husband and I had booked the venue back in March of 2021. Since signing the contract to our wedding day (May 2022) we had 3 event coordinator changes with the final change being about 2 weeks prior to our wedding. Every time the staff changed we were never alerted and only found out due to calling the venue (as they never responded via emails).
-It was always a fight to get our contract which was already signed to be honored - with each staff change we were constantly having to make sure all details were accounted for and even we (as a couple) noticed missing details the day of our wedding (pasta course was skipped, none of the staff really ran any behind the scenes timeline etc.). Furthermore, we had to re-negotiate previously agreed upon pricing details of our contract (e.g. cost of signature drink and champagne for toasts) with each staff changeover. This includes the final staff change, only 1 week prior to our event.
No way to get in contact with the venue. I filled out the inquiry form twice, and called 3 times, with each time being promised that Carol would call me by the following day.
Over a month later and only thing I got is on their generic email list.
Don't waste your time with Gables.
BEWARE! We went and saw the venue and loved it. We discussed everything with Cathy and signed a contract. Since then, Cathy has left and there has been little communication with her replacement, Angela. Someone else, Kavon, has stepped in and is now telling me our reception needs to end an hour earlier than we originally discussed, shorting us an hour of open bar that we've already paid for. He says it only matters what we discussed with Cathy if I have it in writing. BE CAREFUL! This new team is nothing like the old one and things have gone downhill fast since Cathy left. Get everything in writing!!
Absolute worst communication skills you will ever encounter. We've had our contact person change 3 times, each time being told "oh this person was let go" with no reaching out on The Gables part to let us know this. The turnover must be insanely high here. You will go months without an email update. We changed our date to later in the year due to Covid and was told that the date was held and deposit received (we assumed they used part of our already existing deposit to hold the date as a courtesy considering the run around we had received), only to find out later that it was not, and now we have 6 months to throw together a backyard bash. Honestly, it'll be far less stressful than chasing The Gables for communication. We're out a few grand, so I want to prevent others from making the same mistake.
I started my experience with The Gables in June 2019. After many emails and a tour my fiancé & I decided that it was the venue for us and signed our contract in November 2019 for a June 14th 2020 wedding. COVID-19 postponed this wedding and a new date of May 16th 2021 was rescheduled. I reached out numerous times to check in and was passed off between three different people. It was not until April 2021 when I had to reach out again to find out what was happening & was informed I was passed off yet again to a forth person. I emailed her and tried to set up a meeting, with nothing planned and less than a month away from my wedding. I was deeply offended when I called for this meeting & my venue staff was not aware that I was an out of state bride. I had to set up the zoom meeting, which was postponed due to technical issues on Gables part. We had a phone call later discussing as much as we could and I sent a detailed email going over everything afterwards. We also scheduled our rehearsal dinner during this meeting so we would be able to eat & practice for the next day. I was told I would be receiving up to date documents, which I never received but I let it go.
On Friday, May 14th I was called after 6:30pm and told that I was now being passed to someone else, my FIFTH person. I met the person assisting with my wedding that I had been planning for over a year and a half the night my wedding, which is insane.
When I dropped off the groom's cake the morning of May 15th, our reservation for rehearsal was added into Gables computer in front of us. We were told we were not forgotten, but that is the way we felt. Surprisingly that night we were put up in the venue area, sectioned off with an unsupported wall that was installed incorrectly and did fall over at one point. Someone could have been seriously injured. I felt like we were intruding on the night wedding and sympathized with the bride.
Our service that night was upsetting. If Gables was unable to host our rehearsal, I would've liked to know that beforehand and find somewhere else to do it. We had to continually ask for drink refills. I went to the bar and got a pitcher of water for the table. Food on the menu was not available. We even had a guest almost choke on an uncooked ravioli. We did not make it a big deal or want to make a scene in front of our guests. It was also never communicated with us that the ceremony space would be in use the whole night of to rehearsal dinner. Again, if we would have known this, we would have booked somewhere else for rehearsal. Instead, we had to rush through a small rehearsal under the stairs which was unorganized.
We were assured that the night wedding would be torn down and would arrive at a clean venue. This was not the case. Instead of enjoying my morning in the bridal suite getting ready with my friends and family, I was stressed running around making sure everything was done. The venue is clearly unorganized and understaffed. When I originally made my contract, I was told not to hire a coordinator. I wish I had and regret this.
We had further issues with our vendor meals and the buffet opening late. This pushed back our schedule and interfered with photography. After reading recent and current reviews the restaurant is receiving, I am not surprised at all anymore with the service I received. The Gables is losing its reputation and this is upsetting. I really believed in this venue and as a bride was let down.
My wife and I had a beautiful wedding day at The Gables at Chadds Ford. The staff were flexible in last minute changes due to weather and having to move our ceremony indoors. Everyone was professional and helpful in asking what we needed that day. The food is absolutely phenomenal and everyone raved about it after. Everything from the hors d'oeuvres to the main course were amazing. In planning our wedding for the past year with Kelly and Carol (the coordinator and decorator) they did an amazing job in making the planning process easy. Unfortunately they were no longer with the company the day of. Nick and staff took over the job and were very professional and did everything they could to make this day special. We unfortunately had some discrepancies with management post wedding due to covid and our wedding contract. We would still highly recommend this venue for your event.
The Gables was the perfect venue for our wedding. The food and drinks were amazing and the setting could not have been more perfect. The best part was how easy they made the entire process. We did not need to bring any of our own decorations if we did not want to and they had all the perfect options for the farmhouse kind of setting that it was. In the end the guests, myself, and most importantly my wife (the bride) could not have possibly been happier with our experience here. I cannot imagine a better place to have a wedding
We got married at The Gables last fall, and I can honestly not say enough amazing things about the ENTIRE experience! I knew, in general, that I wanted a more modern twist on a “farmhouse” wedding (which The Gables fit perfectly), but I didn't know what details I needed or how to organize them to make that dream a reality. Carol and Kelly and the entire Gables staff were able to take my limited vision and turn it into what I could only imagine in my head. The process of planning this wedding was almost entirely stress-free due to the knowledge and professionalism of everyone we worked with here. I was able to rent most of the decorations from the venue and drop off a few of my own decorations the night before, and when I showed up on the day of the wedding, everything was set up beautifully, better than I could have ever imagined! The details that they incorporated throughout the venue were absolutely perfect and were small things that I never would have thought of including, if it weren’t for their expertise. The Gables staff also worked with our other vendors to ensure everything ran smoothly the day of the wedding. To top it all off, the food and drink selection was fantastic and we did not have to worry about hiring a separate caterer. We have heard countless times from our guests that ours was one of the most well-organized, fun, and beautiful weddings that they have attended. Thank you so SO much to everyone at The Gables for making our experience so beautiful, fun, and stress-free!!
Most beautiful views and amazing staff ! Wedding day couldn’t be any better !
The Gables at Chadds Ford was the first venue that we visited when planning our wedding. We fell in love with the modern rustic décor and the gorgeous outdoor ceremony space. Kelly and Carol from the Gables are two absolutely amazing women, who helped make our wedding vision come to life and make it the most perfect day ever. Throughout the planning process Kelly and Carol were very responsive and worked with us to make everything just the way we wanted it. The day of the wedding the staff was very attentive and ensured that we and our guests had everything we needed from start to finish. The food is mouth wateringly delicious and out of this world! Every single one of my guests loved the venue, the food, and the staff. I could go on all day about how incredible the Gables at Chadds Ford is… they delivered on everything they promised and then some. It was absolutely the right choice and I highly recommend it to everyone!! Thank you so much Carol and Kelly for making our wedding so very memorable and special!!
My daughter's wedding and reception were held here in May of 2019 and it was fantastic! The venue is romantic and beautiful and the food was excellent. We had many, many comments about both from our guests! But what our guests didn’t see was the efficient way the staff worked behind the scene. We had read tons of reviews about how wonderful the staff is during weddings and they were absolutely right! Kelly was on top of things from the start, from our first visit to the last bit of clean-up at the end. She handled all of our frantic phone calls in the weeks before the wedding with grace and efficiency and was extremely flexible and reassuring. She was very visible during the hours before the ceremony and kept everything running smoothly. She even jumped in and took care of a few things that we forgot to do in our distracted and excited states! All of the staff were professional and achieved the perfect balance between being right on hand and yet still out of the way. I was amazed at how easy they all made it look but I know they were working their bottoms off! The final surprise was how affordable it was. I kept expecting some hidden charge but it never came. My daughter had the romantic wedding of her dreams and we were able to stay within our budget. I have been telling everyone about The Gables and highly recommend it! It’s definitely a hidden gem of the Philadelphia area.
Wedding and reception in June 2007 and friends thought I had hired a separate wedding planner - the restaurant did so much to help set up our flowers and decorations to make it stress-free and beautiful. The Gables was the most budget friendly while looking the most exquisite in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
I am so grateful and happy to have had my ceremony and reception at The Gables! From the initial communication and meeting I felt very listened to and the whole team functions as a loving family, everyone was very organized and consistently responsive, especially to all my random emails the whole timeline from booking to day of. The food at The Gables is DELICIOUS and I could write long mouthwatering reviews about every dish there but I will sum it up and say you and the guests will not be disappointed or hungry! The venue itself is stunning and just the right classic and rustic feel. The bridal suite was perfect, accommodating, and chill, and we were happy to hang and get ready there the day of. We had the ceremony outside in front of the beautiful waterfall under the lush pergola.
The reception area was perfect and the staff and servers were wonderful.
One thing I truly appreciated is that I didn't have to do any "DIY" stuff, they have random pallets and barrels and lanterns and things that you can rent (for way cheaper than buying) so that I didn't have to do any projects or even buy and then have a bunch of random stuff left over after the wedding. Carol is one of the best humans on this planet (but honestly everyone at the Gables is!). Thank you so much Gables!
Just stop looking and book this place!
Kelly and Carol, and everyone at the Gables were AMAZING to work with!! We had so much fun working with them throughout the entire process. They are so sweet, so kind, and they truly take care in making your day exactly what you want it to be. We rented almost all of our decorations from the Gables, and we loved every piece! The food was delicious, the service was great, everyone was wonderful. Nothing but 100% positive things to say about these people and this venue! We would absolutely recommend them for your next rustic elegant event :) thank you to the entire Gables team, you guys are amazing!!!!
Friendly and experienced staff. Easy to work with and coordinators have expertise at its best. Food was amazing and the venue is very pretty with a rustic flare. Our wedding day was really perfect
We had an absolutely wonderful wedding at The Gables! It's a gorgeous venue and the food is absolutely phenomenal. We had so many people tell us that our wedding was the best that they had been to and a good deal of that had to do with the great staff. We did feel like some of the coordination was spotty at times, but overall we truly had a great experience! I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for an exceptional wedding experience :)
The Gables is an amazing place and was the perfect spot for us to have our wedding! The entire staff is so incredibly helpful, professional and fun! We had a great time working with Kelly, Kayla and Carol. They were all so helpful and easy to work with. They made a very stressful process into something that was fun and organized. All of our emails and phone calls were returned quickly so we never felt like we weren't in contact in the days and weeks leading up to the big day. Every single guest came up to us and gave amazing compliments about the food. It is fantastic! We had our rehearsal dinner there the night before and that food was amazing as well. There is no way any other venue could have been as perfect as The Gables. If you're still searching for a wedding venue, stop searching now and call Kelly to book at The Gables! You will not be disappointed.
Thanks to the Gables at Chadds Ford (and Carol in particular!) for making our wedding day magical! Bryan and I chose The Gables for its "rustic elegance," reasonably-priced, delicious food, and the turnkey service offered by the venue. We booked the venue nearly two years prior to our wedding date and were very happy with the process from the tasting to the final walk-thru. We loved that all food was prepared on site, that The Gables took care of the alcohol and room set up, plus had many extra items to rent in order to add additional ambiance to our day. We opted for a garden ceremony, rented the covered patio for cocktails, and had our reception in their wedding venue - everything was perfect! Thank you to the staff at The Gables for making our wedding day so special. We've received nothing but positive feedback from our guests and are so happy we chose such a unique and lovely venue.
My wife and I got married at the Gables in June of 2018, and we were so happy with the venue and cannot recommend them highly enough. We started our wedding planning well in advance, and Kelly and Sam were with us every step of the way. They were kind, calm, organized and available whenever we had a question and were prompt with their replies. They readily met with us whenever we needed and kept in touch with us in the months leading up to our big day. Kelly made sure our day ran seamlessly; there was nothing we worried about. The grounds were impeccable, the wait staff professional and attentive, the food DELICIOUS (and served piping hot - so important!), and the reception room beautiful, cozy, charming, and romantic. We loved every moment of our big day at the Gables. The only small caveat we have for future newlyweds is to ask Sam and Kelly early and often about their microphone (for the outside ceremony.) It was difficult trying to figure out if it was going to be provided and when it was, the volume was close to inaudible. It was a minor glitch, but it may be something to consider.
Thank you so much, Kelly, Sam, and Carol, etc. We are blessed to have chosen the Gables!!

I hosted my future daughter-in-law's bridal shower at The Gables. As a former wedding coordinator, I understand the importance of attention to every detail, no matter how small, and I highly recommend The Gables for weddings, showers, or any special event. The Gables is a beautiful venue and made for the perfect place to celebrate the bride. But, the attention in detail was truly a result of the staff, led by Carol. Carol and her staff were hands-on from the moment we arrived to set-up and ensured that everything was impeccable and beautiful. The food was fresh, delicious, and professionally prepared and served. Our bartender was friendly and kind. It was an affair we'll always remember and I'm looking forward to future events at The Gables. Cheers!
Our wedding at the Gables was amazing! Food was delicious (which is rare for wedding venues) and the set up was effortless. The staff went above and beyond to create a perfect day. They were so much fun to work with and did an excellent job!
Our experience at The Gables was such a pleasure. They handled every aspect of planning with prompt professionalism and made our day so special! Our guests raved about the venue, food, and employees. I would recommend this venue to everyone, especially those looking for an intimate and personal experience.
There isn’t enough room to write about how incredible The Gables was to work with. I am a meticulous planner with very particular ideas of how I wanted everything to look; Kelly and Carol absolutely nailed it. When Carol walked me into the finished reception room on my wedding day, I was brought to tears! Every single part of our day was perfection! In addition to how incredibly beautiful everything was, I have never heard more praise about food at a wedding!! I must have heard 50 times from my guests about how incredible their meals were! Every single detail of our day was handled with such care, it is evident that Kelly, Carol, and their teams have a true passion for what they do. If you want your day to be unique, lively, and taste amazing, this is your venue!!
Our daughter's wedding reception was held at The Gables in September, 2018, and we could not be happier with how it all turned out. Kelly and Carol and the entire staff are exceptional. Communication was excellent. They are passionate about what they do and it shows. They took care of every little detail that we requested. It truly was awesome. We received SO many compliments from our guests. Our daughter and son-in-law are thrilled with how everything turned out. Do not hesitate to have your event at The Gables at Chadds Ford!
We had our intimate, 30 person wedding here this July (on a Tuesday!) The Gables team was so helpful and amazing. Carol and Kelly truly took the time to get to know us and make sure all ran smoothly on the day. The food, atmosphere, and service, could not have been more perfect. The outdoor area and barn for the reception were just gorgeous. I loved being able to get ready in the bridal suite. I could not recommend it here enough
We truly can’t say enough about this location and staff! We got married on 3/17/18. The Gables worked with our vision, price range, and helped brainstorm. The staff was AMAZING, particularly Sam and Carol. They made my wedding day so special and they were a delight to have with us through the process and the day of!! The food is incredible. The venue is gorgeous. They worked so hard and did it so cheerfully! Even the servers/wait staff are kind, professional and a joy to work with. This venue is a goldmine! It’s beautiful, fabulous staff, fair pricing... I could go on. Definitely worth every penny!
Wedding planning is stressful. From the details to the budget, it all takes a lot of work and finding the right venue is crucial. When my then-fiance and I searched for wedding venues and visited the Gables, we fell in love with it and knew it would be our venue. Aside from its great look, the banquet staff was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helped us immensely. Kelly, Samantha, and Carol worked with us on everything, walking us through the planning process, accommodating our budget and quirky requests, and ultimately pulling off a fantastic wedding reception and ceremony (our ceremony was in the beautiful garden outside). Carol, who inspired confidence from our first meeting, not only brought to life our vision for the decor of the venue, but then went above and beyond, exceeding all of our expectations. Both the reception and ceremony settings looked beautiful.
I cannot recommend the Gables enough. A bride wants her wedding to be a memorable experience, and the Gables staff made it a resounding success. The guests could not stop talking about how wonderful everything looked, how good the food was, and how much fun they were having during and after the wedding. Both my husband and I cannot stop talking about how well everything went.
We had an amazing wedding day at the Gables! And no complaints in the months leading up to the day either, as both Sam and Kelly were really helpful and responsive via email and phone. We really loved being able to pick out every single component of our wedding, from the decorations, details, appetizers, etc, and understand the costs of everything upfront. Working with the Gables staff was almost like having a wedding coordinator, but without the added cost. Our guests also loved the venue and everyone had a really great time. Overall, beautiful space with amazing and helpful staff.
My husband Alex and I just had our wedding at The Gables last Saturday, 10/21/17. Kelly, Samantha, Allison, and the entire team exceeded our expectations in making the entire day perfect from beginning to end. The attention to detail blew us away and they set up the indoor and outdoor spaces more beautifully than we could have imagined, without any direction from us at all! The entire planning process was seamless and we knew we were in good hands. The food was incredible, as always, and our guests raved about how amazing the entire wedding was. The only negative was when we had to leave at the end of the night! We would highly recommend The Gables to every engaged couple out there looking to have a stunningly romantic, intimate wedding. We wish we could do it all again! THANK YOU for making our dreams come true!!!
The Gables executed our vision to perfection. I had my doubts that steak for 100 people would be cooked and satisfy the guest and I was pleasantly surprised five stars to this venue and all its workers our coordinator Sarah was the best very patient very informative worked with us on everything and The Decorator Allison as I stated executed our vision perfectly. Very reasonably priced I would recommend this venue to anyone okay
We had our wedding here in June and it was just beautiful!! Everyone was praising the venue, especially the reception space. And our guests raved about the food as well. The food was just as amazing for our rehearsal dinner which we also had here, with food selections different from what we had at the wedding. Every single item on the menu was delicious! The wedding coordinators were great to work with, and the prices are quite reasonable for such a unique space. It does not feel like your standard banquet hall--it has its own historic, timeless charm that left an impression on everyone who was a part of the day. We are so happy we chose The Gables for our wedding!
Classy yet casual - the details are so meaningful and gorgeous. Such a perfect and comfortable location as well. Really felt welcome and at home there. Food is incredible.
From the start of our venue selection process through the last drink served during our reception, The Gables went above and beyond to make this the perfect day for us. Kelly and Samantha are FANTASTIC to work with. They are responsive, flexible and accommodating. They paid attention to all the details that were important to us and set up the space exactly how we had it pictured in our heads. Every guest of our wedding has said the location was beautiful, food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We couldn't be happier with our selection of The Gables for our wedding reception.
My husband and I got married on 7/21/17 at The Gables. Our day was beyond perfect! Sam, Kelly, Chef Dave, and the rest of The Gables staff worked hard from day one! They were very accommodating to all our wishes, from setting up long tables, to having a sparkler send off, and everything in between.
Our ceremony and cocktail hour were in the courtyard, which has breathtaking landscaping and a beautiful terrace Inside, our reception had a very rustic look and was decorated beautifully. There is also an adorable cottage where the bridal party got ready, which made it very convenient to do everything all in one place.
The food was delicious, from the appetizers to the main course. Guests were also a given a fairly big portion! Many guests raved about how good the food was.
In addition, Kelly and Sam made sure everything ran smoothly and happened in a timely manner. They were very helpful with creating a timeline.
We are still getting compliments saying what a wonderful wedding it was. Beautiful place, fantastic food, amazing staff! Would highly recommend.
Our 7/14/17 wedding at the Gables was perfect! Samantha and Kelly made everything so easy, and Allison made sure everything was decorated beautifully. Every request we made was accommodated. Even though it was down-pouring on the day of our wedding and we had to use a tent for the ceremony, the event went off without a hitch and was our dream wedding! Great food, great location, great service, great people.
The staff at The Gables went above and beyond. They took care of everything! The room looked amazing, the bridal party was served drinks by none other than the owner, herself (you rock Ann). The food came out hot, and absolutely delicious. The service was well timed and people couldn't get enough of the fresh rolls and honey butter! The staff made sure I ate and checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect. The even collected the decor at the end of the night so I could pick it up the following day. I would highly recommend The Gables to any bride & groom looking for the perfect wedding venue!
I cannot say enough about The Gables! Kelly and Sam are great to work with and so helpful! They are super responsive and willing to help in any way! The ceremony and reception venues are rustic elegance at it's best! They have an amazing selection of rental items too! And the food is absolutely amazing! I could not get more compliments from guests for what an amazing wedding it was at The Gables!
Got married here last week. Would select the same venue if we had to do it all again. It is beautiful with minimal decorating. Made the process as stress free as such a stressful event can be. My only complaint would be that when we made an appointment to pay a deposit and book the venue months ago we drove for an hour and couldn't find anyone there to help us. Almost didn't want to select the venue after the experience, but SO glad we went with it anyway. Very happy with the Gables overall!
My husband and I were married in early June 2016. It was supposed to rain on our big day so we had our ceremony in the covered courtyard and had our cocktail hour and reception in the barn. I loved the rustic feel of the Gables, I thought everything about it was just gorgeous!
We had an early ceremony, 10am, so getting everyone ready in time was hectic. The two young girls who were helping us were fantastic. They kept us all on time, and running smoothly! I believe the only hiccup we had was a few days prior, I had arranged to meet the main event coordinator to go over entrances, sign/decoration placement, ect and she mistook this meeting as us just dropping everything off. Her assistance who helped us the day of were there that day and helped us settle everything.
The food was wonderful, and were just the right portion sizes for lunch. The Gables overall was very affordable. I was seven months pregnant at the time of our wedding and we were on a tight budget. For 65 guests i believe we spent around $12,000.
My wife and I were looking for a unique place to host our wedding ceremony and party and we found the perfect spot at The Gables. We were married there on January 1st, 2016. Kelly (the event planner) and Ann (the owner) were amazing to work with. We were fortunate enough to have the entire venue to ourselves. We had our wedding ceremony in the meticulously decorated ballroom upstairs. Our cocktail party was downstairs at the bar and in the restaurant. We then went back upstairs for our dinner and dancing. Our food was incredible. I will never forget the bacon wrapped shrimp!! We opted to have steak and crab cakes and everyone loved them. Our cake was DELICIOUS!! Weddings can be very stressful...Ann and Kelly made sure every detail was covered. My wife and I were 100% free to enjoy the day. We are going back tonight to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't be more excited to see the staff. To anyone considering this venue for an important event, rest assured this team will make sure you get the event of your dreams.
We just had our wedding at the Gables about a week ago and I can't say enough good things about them. The food was delicious, the banquet room looked beautiful, and all of our guests loved it there. Kelly, Samantha and Alex were the best, we didn't have to worry about a thing everything was taken care of for us that day. I had bought a bunch of decorations that went along with the rustic feel of that room, but quite frankly I didn't even need them. They had so many of their own lanterns and candles (that actually matched the ones I bought exactly). I would highly recommend having a wedding there-nowadays every wedding/banquet facility feels the same, almost boring. The Gables banquet room truly has an elegant, unique feel to it than all the other places we looked at. Us and our guests loved it!
GORGEOUS venue for ceremony and reception!
My husband and I recently got married at Gables on October 7th 2016. Our wedding was about 90 people total, and we chose Gables because the space worked well for our size and had the rustic-chic atmosphere we were looking for. Gables also charges a la carte - so we got charged for nothing we didn't want which we liked a lot.
First I have to say the service from everyone that I worked with up-to and day-of was outstanding. Kelly and Sam were awesome, and Ann and Alex were so helpful during the day! Everyone there truly loves what they do and it shows.
I thought it was so helpful that they 'spruced' up my decorations by filling in matching ones. They filled in any gaps my wood rounds left with their own, set up extra candles, extra votives, basically anything extra that the design needed.
Overall the food was quite good. The s'mores station was a huge hit with my guests. I will say the filets were almost all overcooked, but that does tend to happen at weddings when food is cooked en masse.
I had so many people tell me how beautiful the venue was. The lights hanging inside the reception hall really gave it the glow we were looking for. The team was really flexible with what our vision was for the day. Our dog was our ring bearer and a lot of places didn't allow pets, but Kelly and the team didn't bat an eye when we told them that was a must-have for our day.
We also ordered the Level 2 open bar package - we have a, shall we say, enthusiastic group when it comes to drinking? Yet a number of people commented to me that the bartenders did a great job of not being light on the mixed drinks.
I will also mention that we had our rehearsal dinner here too on the upper patio. What a beautiful place to enjoy family and friends with the stone walls and foliage all around you. Food was excellent for the rehearsal dinner, and the staff was tolerant of some of our more well-lubricated guests :-)
Overall this was an awesome place to have our wedding. We keep saying that we wish we could go back and do it all over again, we had so much fun. Thanks to the Gables for a great, once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Amazing from beginning to end. Ann, Kelly, Samantha, Alex and Chef Dave delivered a beautiful reception with outstanding food. Our guests couldn't believe how delicious the food was, how great and friendly the service was and how beautiful the The Gables is, especially the reception. We loved the food so much that we already went back to have dinner, 3 weeks after getting married. It felt magical and I'm so glad my husband and I decided to get married there. We will be eating there frequently from now on!
My husband and I were married at the Gables at the end of July. We elected to get married outside without a tent, despite the scorching heat. Everything turned out absolutely beautiful, and was seamless from start to finish. Kelly was awesome throughout the entire planning stage, and really worked with us to ensure that we had the things we desired, while staying within budget. The night before the wedding we were able to drop everything off at the Gables - something that didn't happen until 11pm and yet the whole team was accommodating and did not mind that we were there so late. Tommy, Alex, and Sam were instrumental in making sure that everything was executed flawlessly on the day of the wedding. They had everything set up as I envisioned, and required very little guidance in the matter. My mom stopped by the morning of, and everything was basically done with nothing left to do. We elected to go with mini cheesecake desserts, rather than a traditional cake, and they set up a dessert table more beautifully than I ever would have imagined. The appetizers and entrees were fantastic, and our guests are still raving about the food to this day. The price for everything, particularly food, is much lower than most in the Philadelphia area, and yet you don't compromise one bit. They even have a closet full of things available to decorate with, such as mason jars and various signs, which helped us cut costs without ending up with a bunch of decorations that we would not need after the wedding. We loved the Gables and recommend it to anyone!
We can't describe how amazing out wedding was. The Gables is the perfect place for a wedding. We hardly had to bring any decorations because the building and the outdoor area is already beautiful! The workers there are awesome! Very courteous and flexible! We had our ceremony out back along with cocktail hour, the reception was above the restaurant. We also held our rehearsal in the outdoor patio. The chef is amazing! The food was awesome for both events. Working with the Gables was great! We would highly recommend this venue.
My daughter got married, last weekend, August 7, 2016, at the Gables. The wedding was absolutely perfect! The event planner, Kelly, was extremely helpful, from the first time we met her, in November, until the big day. My daughter, her fiance, and I were going to look at two other venues after seeing the Gables, but once we saw the gorgeous outdoor wedding area, reception area, and great bridal suite, our minds were made up. We didn't need to see any other place! Kelly and her assistant, Sam, answered all of my daughters questions, and made sure that everything went smoothly and perfectly. The outdoor ceremony area was gorgeous, with flowers everywhere, surrounding the stone wall, with the waterfall. The staff were very attentive, and made us feel really comfortable. Tommy kept us fed and happy as we spent the day getting ready in the lovely on site bridal suite. The cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, was lovely, out on the patio and deck. The reception area, inside, had rustic charm, beautiful wood floors, and wooden gables in the ceiling. It felt open and airy. No decorations were needed other than some flowers on the tables. Little white lights were provided by the venue. The cake table had pretty candles to set it off. The food was delicious. One of our guests said it was the best wedding food he had ever eaten!!! All of our friends and family couldn't get over how absolutely lovely everything was. They said that they had all driven by The Gables, but never realized what an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue it was! I highly recommend The Gables, in Chadds Ford, if you are looking for a lovely outdoor/indoor wedding venue, which is rustic, yet charming, and doesn't need a lot of decorating. My daughter made some cute chalkboard signs she placed around the venue. If you or your daughter/son are planning a wedding for the spring, summer, or fall, check out the Gables, you will be very happy you did!!!
We had started working with Rick at the Gables and then Kelly took over, but it was a seamless transition. She was so patient with multiple emails loaded with questions, wanting to make sure everything was prefect for our big day. Cocktail hour had to be moved inside due to weather, but everything still went very smoothly. The staff was so friendly and did a great job setting up all of the decorations that I had taken them. It was the perfectly elegant venue for us, super intimate and allowed us to dress it us for the formal garden party feel that we wanted. We can't wait to go back for our first anniversary, if we even wait that long!
My husband I were married at The Gables on the most beautiful day in June, June 17, 2016. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was beautiful, the food was great, but there are a few things about the Gables that I caution any bride & groom about when looking into this place. We originally met with Richard in July o 2015 when we were interested in booking at the Gables and he sold us on the place, he promised us the world and the wedding that we wanted. We reviewed the contract with him, he called a few weeks later to set up the date and said that we would be in touch. The was the last we heard from Richard as he no longer works there and is working with his wife who supplies the cakes for the Gables(which were absolutely amazing). The communication at the Gables is absolutely horrendous and inexcusable. We were left waiting for weeks at a time on responses for details about our wedding, some of them simple, some of them not so much. We also had our rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding at the Gables, which was also fabulous, but because it had rained earlier that day, there was a big tent up over the ceremony area. When I spoke to Kelly earlier in the week I said I would only want a tent if it was going to rain that day...which means please no tent if it is sunny. The night of the rehearsal dinner Kelly promised everyone that it would be down for the next day and it was overheard by several member of the bridal party. The day of the wedding we arrived to the site and the tent was still up. I asked Kelly about taking it down and she said no, that it was staying up because that is what I wanted and there was no way of it coming down. She went as far as telling my photographer that the pictures would look better with the tent, as well as several other excuses like the wedding the next day needing the tent. I'm sorry this is my wedding, not somebody else. If I want the tent down, it's coming down. My MOH was finally able to get the tent down after giving Kelly her credit card information and $424 dollars later it came down within 5 minutes. The front right of left area of the garden was flooded during the ceremony so nobody could stand on that side. My son's suit was left at the Gables and after calling on Saturday morning we didn't receive a call back until Thursday, oh and the best part, the top tier of my three tier cake was put into a Scotch-Brite cardboard box leaning on its side. My DJ ran the whole entire show for the night from start to end because Kelly lacked the ability to lead and play bridal coordinator. We were also supposed to be refunded $700 for not using the tent, but that didn't happen either. No couple should have to deal with this kind of nonsense and unprofessional-ism. When contacting someone at the Gables, nobody responds until weeks later and when you respond back to them right away, it takes several more weeks. That is not how a business is run. We will not be returning to the Gables and I caution any bride or groom looking into getting married there against it and to search elsewhere with a more competent staff.
Kelly and the entire gables team made our day so special. They were so easy to work with throughout the whole process and even the day of they were so flexible when the weather didn't cooperate and they made our wedding so incredible. The food was delicious, they set up all the decor better than i ever could have thought, and the whole flow of the day worked so well. Also the grounds are incredible for photos! We had planned to go to Longwood gardens, but changed our mind because of the weather. Honestly the photos from Gables were so much more beautiful than i could have imagined. Gables was the perfect place, great to work with, and a great value! Would highly recommend to any bride interested in a simple yet elegant wedding :)
Kelly, Tommy, and Sam were extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process and solely devoted to me and my bridal party's needs on my wedding day. We had to rearrange last minute because of weather, but they still made everything appear effortless and beautiful. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces looked exactly how I wanted.
We loved the Gables! Our guests raved over the food (which was unique and beautifully executed), the friendliness of the staff, and the venue. We got married in June so the outdoor ceremony space was in full bloom. One of my hesitations in booking this venue was that it is so close to the road and would not feel private, but everything was intimate and lovely and road noise was not an issue at all. The team was easy to work with and did an excellent job of ensuring that the day ran smoothly. I feel like this venue is an excellent value!
Simply Perfect!!! my husband and I had the most perfect day. Everything was flawless and as smooth as can be from the time we arrived, up unitl the very end. Ann went above and beyond for us. We could not have done it without her and for that we owe her a HUGE Thank You. Looking forward to seeing her soon.
Highly recommend The Gables for you special day!!!!!
My husband and I are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Tommy, Kelly and Ann of The Gables to plan the wedding of our dreams!! The team was extremely professional and attentive and went well beyond the call of duty to make sure every detail was taken care of. The beautiful barn and grounds offer the unique farmhouse chic look that we wanted for our wedding and photographs amazingly! Months later our guests are still raving over the amazing food and service! I can’t say enough great things about this venue and how happy we are that we choose The Gables to host our special day!
Tommy, kelly, and the owners were fabulous! They helped settle my nerves prior to the wedding and were very easy to communicate with. They were flexible with my decorating details (including willing to turn on 110 lantern lights) and the ideas came out better than I planned because of their skill. It was the first time my photographer attended the gables and she told us it was one of her favorites of all time. Tommy shared wonderful picture ideas and worked with our vendors to make sure everything went off without a hitch. Our guests loved our reception. Many spent time on the dance floor or outside by the fire pit. I also recommend having a smores bar for kids and adults. The food of course is memorable and our guests loved the dinner choices available to them. Have the wedding of your dreams at the gables.
We could not have been happier with the reception at The Gables. With a thunderstorm and tornado warning, they were VERY accommodating. Erica (head banquet contact for the reception) asked me a few questions about my preferences for service, and I let her know that she can make the call and I am so glad I did! Everything was beautiful and everyone had a GREAT time!
Rick and Kelly were so helpful throughout the planning process. Both were helpful and kind throughout everything.
Tom was amazing the day of when my girls and I were in the bridal suite getting ready as well as throughout the reception. He was looking out for us, making sure we could get pictures in their patio bar (due to thunderstorms we could not go outside)
All staff (management, wait staff and bartenders) were willing to do whatever they could to make our guests happy.
I can't thank The Gables enough for a wonderful reception.
I had both my ceremony and reception at the Gables in Chadds Ford and it was perfect. We had a small wedding so it was really great to have a beautiful setting like this. We were married outside in a beautiful courtyard (and totally saved on flowers because they have a gorgeous garden and fountain there already!) The cocktail hour was on their patio and then we moved into the big banquet room for the reception. It was like getting 3 locations in one. They also are a restaurant so they took care of all the food and they work with an amazing baker so I got so many different things taken care of all at once. The Gables has a bridal suite on property so my bridesmaids and I got there early to get ready. They honestly had everything I needed and it was an amazing price and saved me a lot of hassle because they took care of so much. We also got a gift card for a free anniversary dinner at their restaurant for a year after the wedding which was nice.
I can't even express how amazing our wedding was at the The Gables. When we initially booked last year, Marianne was the coordinator in charge. I really liked her and was a little leery when I found out she was no longer working there. BUT, Kelly stepped in and didn't miss a beat! She was AMAZING to work with! Now, I honestly couldn't imagine working with someone other than her. She was so accommodating, always got back to my incessant crazy bride emails quickly, and did everything she could to make our day perfect.
The pictures on the Knot do not even do justice to how beautiful the venue is. They recently did some renovations - as much as I loved the venue last June when we booked it, it was even more perfect by the day of the wedding!
The food was delicious - every single bite! They worked with us to create signature bride & groom drinks which turned out perfect. They made all my decor pieces work exactly as I imagined them.
We did our cocktail hour outside in the garden (luckily, we had amazing weather!), and everyone loved it. We were able to have an acoustic guitar player outside and it just fit perfectly. I also appreciated being able to escape to the bridal suite right off the garden when I needed a quick breather/to freshen up, etc. They set aside some hors d'oeurves for my husband & I in the suite along with some champagne and sparkling water. Much appreciated!
On the day of the wedding, Kelly & Thomas were so helpful. We had an issue with a shuttle not showing up to bring guests from the hotel to the venue. Thomas handled all the calls, etc with that. I panicked for a second, then he took over so I could relax! Even more, when the shuttle still didn't show, Thomas got in his own car to go pick up some of the guests!! That is truly going above & beyond.
If your looking for an intimate (we had 110 people), setting that doesn't have your typical ballroom feel (with amazing food and wonderful employees!), check out the Gables for sure!
Every experience my husband and I had with the owner & staff at The Gables was excellent. From multiple planning meetings, to the menu tasting, to the day of our wedding; we always were made to feel special and taken care of. The Gables is a beautiful and unique venue with both an indoor and outdoor space that our family and friends loved. The staff on the day of our wedding (Kelly, Tommy, and Erica) did a fantastic job setting up, serving food & drinks, and making sure that everyone was having a great time. The head chef, Dave, takes pride in all the food he serves and that was evident in all the food served at our wedding. Everything served during cocktail hour, salads, and through dinner was delicious! Our wedding day was unforgettable and we would highly recommend The Gables at Chadds Ford!
If you are looking for a beautiful wedding spot that you can have the ceremony and reception in one place, stop right now. The Gables is the only place you need to look at.
We had our wedding at the Gables back in October 2014. My wife and I were looking for a place that was small, quiet, well priced, and had a rustic feel. We found it all at the Gables. The best part that we did not think about was the amazing owners and staff. Ann and her staff were and still are some of the most amazing people we have ever met. The number one reason we booked our wedding at The Gables was because of Ann (and her hugs). She made us feel like family by the way she was detailed, patient, supportive, and accommodating. Anything we asked for, she was willing to make happen. Every detail was covered multiple times, there were no surprises with prices, food, design, etc. The only surprises were the ones where we told The Gables to make it their choice, and their choices did not disappoint.
From the beginning to the end, I never was worried about our plans. The only time I worried was when I said to my fiance, "Is planning a wedding always this easy?"
We planned a visit to The Gables, went home to talk it over, and then immediately found the date that worked. A quarter of the way through the planning, the wedding director at The Gables left to work at their other restaurant down south. The planning staff never missed a beat. I did not even realize the other planner had left because everything picked up right where we left off. We did not want the beautiful upstairs area or outside because we did not have many people, so Ann was willing to let us use the beautiful stone patio for our wedding and ceremony. We had a mid afternoon wedding and the timing was perfect. There was no rush to get things started or end at a certain time. Everyone was so accommodating. The Gables even held off their construction project to move their stairs because of our wedding in the patio area. The patio looked amazing! We were able to do our own flowers as well.
My wife loved the bridal suite and Ann was even there to help my wife when she had a small emergency. The staff set everything up so nicely in the suite and in the patio area. The pictures turned out great outside and inside. Ann was even in a handful of our pictures because she became part of the family through the whole process. During the reception all staff members where there to continue to make sure everything was perfect. I really cannot say enough amazing things about the staff at The Gables. So many people in our family said how wonderful the staff was, how beautiful the set up was, and how everyone they talked to said how they really enjoyed themselves. These were not statements of people being nice, but statements of true sincerity about how wonderful The Gables took care of us and all our guests. We have been back to The Gables 5 times since our wedding for lunch, brunch, or dinner and we live an hour away. The experience never changes, it is still amazing and we still get great hugs from Ann.
We felt welcomed, it was relaxed, and everything was taken care of. I highly recommend you waste no more time and book a visit to The Gables.
The wedding I attended was in the beginning of August....a very hot day of 97 degrees. The upstairs room was extremely warm. I would say at least 80+. Room holds up to 150?? Sure. If there is no dance floor. They had 123 people and we were on top of each other, having to carefully navigate our way out to the bar or bathroom but not without asking people to get up from their seats to make way for you. The parents table was served first. Our table received their dinners 50 minutes later. The only good thing I have to say is that the outside is beautiful but not on a day like we had.
We used The Gables at Chadds Ford as the venue for our October 2014 wedding. We chose the venue based on the food and decor, and we were not disappointed! The appetizers during the cocktail hour and the main entrees during dinner were fantastic; I've received many great compliments about the food, and my mother even tracked down their salad dressing recipe! The banquet room was gorgeous, and all of the extra touches were set up meticulously by the banquet team. We were blessed with great weather the day of our wedding, so we were able to enjoy the outside space during the cocktail hour and during the reception which allowed for our guests to spread out and not be cramped. Eric and the rest of the servers and bartenders were very courteous and attentive; and I have not one complaint about their service. And working with Rick the final weeks before the wedding was super easy. He was responsive and answered all of our questions. I would definitely recommend having an event at The Gables at Chadds Ford.
I recently got married at The Gables at Chadds Ford and I had an absolutely amazing wedding experience. I worked with Ann Kolenick and she was such a pleasure to work with throughout the whole experience. She made me feel like I was important and not just like I was another bride coming through. From the day we visited the venue to the wedding day, Ann was present and involved throughout the whole experience and that truly meant a lot to me. It really helped make the whole wedding process run smoothly. The outside terrace is beautiful and definitely was what made me fall in love with this venue. I loved how everything turned out for my wedding day here at The Gables!
It's hard to put into words just how utterly fantastic everything about having my wedding with The Gables was. From the initial planning stages a year and a half ago, to the last song of the night on October 4, 2014, every single detail went off without a hitch. And we owe Ann, Rick, Eric, and Marianne a lifetime's worth of gratitude for making our wedding vision come true.
Just a stone's throw from Longwood Gardens in Chadds Ford, PA, The Gables was the perfect setting for my rustic-themed wedding. Because the reception area is located in a converted barn, there was really no decorating necessary; however I couldn't help myself and collected/made a lot of decorations to add a personal touch (all of which were set up and taken down by Eric and his fantastic crew). The area boasts beautiful hardwoods, sky-high ceiling beams wrapped with lights, incredible chandeliers, and punched-tin tiles in the bathrooms. There are also floor-to-ceiling windows that make the entire place feel magical.
Our ceremony, which lasted all of 10 minutes or so, was hosted in the back garden in front of a beautiful arch that's draped with sweet potato vines and surrounded by amazing landscaping. Two fountains added just the right amount of romance. The "aisle" was a brick walkway leading up to the fountains and archway. Pictures online really don't do its beauty justice, especially in the afternoon setting sun.
My bridesmaids and I got our hair and makeup done in the bridal suite, which was complimentary. Eric, the most amazing man in the world, was there from the time we arrived (at 8:30 AM) until we left a bit after 9 PM. He brought us fruit, cheese, and coffee in the morning, and delivered a bottle of champagne right at lunch. If we needed anything - and I mean ANYthing - he was on it immediately, no questions asked, and always with a smile on his face. I'm a control freak and was having a hard time putting my "vision" into someone else's hands, but Eric made me feel at ease about everything. He was professional, kind, and I know our wedding day was made even more perfect because he was a part of it. I cannot speak highly enough of Eric - even our guests loved him to pieces.
Rick, the general manager, was another part of the trio that ensured our wedding day was perfect. He coordinated everything I needed - from the menu to the tables to the schedule for the day - with professionalism and humor. He stepped in when our original coordinator, Marianne, stepped down from her position, and it was as if hands never changed. In other words, an absolutely flawless transition.
Ann is the owner of The Gables and just about the sweetest woman you'll ever meet. She was there with us at our rehearsal the Wednesday before the wedding, armed with a folder of paperwork that included every single detail we'd discussed over the past year and a half of planning. Nothing was overlooked. She helped tremendously with the timing of the wedding procession, made suggestions about when the flower girl/ring bearer/bridesmaids/my dad and I should walk out, and was just an absolute delight to be around.
I will recommend The Gables to anyone looking for an affordable, absolutely breathtaking venue to hold ANY event. The staff was tremendous, the food was amazing, and every single part of our day was simply perfection. My husband (!!) and I are looking forward to going back often to relive the day and talk to Ann and her staff (our new friends).
I recently (10/4/14) had a small wedding ceremony/reception (21 people total) at The Gables. For my event, we rented the upper portion of the outside terrace. Ann and Marianne were great to work with in preparing the event details - very accommodating! On the day of our wedding, the service and food were exceptional. I previously worked in fine/upscale dining for about 10 years, and I have to say that I am impressed! Also, I've received so many wonderful compliments about how beautiful the venue was. The stone terrace provided such a beautiful backdrop for our intimate affair. I'd highly reccomend The Gables for any event!
Our Do-It-Yourself wedding at the Gables at Chadds Ford was a loving event and The Gables deserves a BIG THANK YOU for this! The owner, banquet manager, and staff all had pleasant attitudes and helped in everyway possible during the entire year process of planning. We were in constant communication and we received feedback and answers always within a day of our request/question.
A few days prior, we were able to bring our crafty items a day in advance to ease up the wedding day load and everything was locked away securely until our wedding day. Ann and her banquet manager were there for our rehearsal dinner incase we needed any questions answered or help with the organization of the ceremony.
The day of our wedding we were taken care of from the time we arrived (11a) to the time we left (10p) by Ann, the owner, and her fabulous staff. Myself, my husband, and wedding party were never without assistance. Ann made us feel like we could ask for anything, and when we did, it was granted within minutes.
We specifically chose a restaurant to have our reception at for fine dining. I did not want the food catered. Well, The Gables lived up to our food tasting and my expectations. The salmon and beef were cooked perfectly, and served warm with delicious sides. The guests raved about their meals, cheese board, and appetizers for the next few days to me.
When they were setting up the chairs for the ceremony, Ann made her vendors go back to their location to get the "white" chairs. This is just one example of Ann working hard to make sure our day was the perfect look for us.
The ambiance at the Gables is absolutely stunning and intimate, and is exactly what I envisioned for my wedding. The sun went down, and the candles on the tables and the strands of lights wrapped around the wooden beams really gave us the feel of a beautiful night.
At the end of the evening, it was raining. The staff had large umbrellas and walked each woman out to the shuttle. It was a nice touch to the end of the night, and not something we ever asked of them to do.
My DJ, Videographer, and Photographers all had great things to say about working with Ann and the Gables, and told me it was a great place to have a wedding. The ambiance, and historical and intimate feel make for a great event. The Gables can hold max 130 heads, and we had about 109 with vendors included (not including the wait staff walking around) and it was crowded, but not in a way where I felt confined. It was also wonderful to have the guests have the roam of the outside deck and ceremony area, which was just a step outside from our reception.
I would highly recommend The Gables at Chadds Ford for your ceremony and/or reception!!!
the venue was gorgeous and the food was excellent, but I was disappointed with the wait staff...there wasn't enough servers for our june 22, 2013 wedding venue and the food was served hot, but late.
I got married at the Gables on Memorial Day Weekend (May 25th). We had the ceremony outside by the waterfall. They also had the bridal suite done in enough time for me and my bridal party to use it. Everyone raved about the food and how beautiful our wedding was. My photographer was there for 11 hours and felt he still didnt have enough time to capture the beauty of this place. The best part is, my husband and I now get to go to the gables every year for our anniversary and relive every moment! Looking back this was the perfect place! We made our own centerpieces of wheat grass and origami flowers, the place spoke for itself and we really didnt need huge centerpieces. If you are looking for a country or rustic theme place to have your wedding, this is the place!!!!!!!!
I loved the Gables at Chadds Ford for many reasons when I picked it as my wedding venue. I had a 100 person reception and wanted a casual yet elegant vibe. The planning process was pleasant and the day of my wedding things went very smoothly until the very end. At the end of the evening my Mom asked me about a few fees that were charged to her credit card but because we had a shuttle coming to pick up our guests and things were hectic, we did not have time to ask about the fees amidst the hustle and bustle of an ending wedding reception.
When I returned from my honeymoon, I sent a few emails to the woman who helped me plan my wedding. No response. I finally called and got in touch with another person who told me that my original contact had left. This was a total shock-- 10 days later and she is gone? My emails were forwarded to the owner. The owner, apologized for the lack of communication but told me that the fees were non-negotiable. I explained that I had never even heard of the fees that were charged let alone did not sign anything agreeing to pay them. For example, there was a ceremoney fee for using the patio ($500)- I think this is reasonable however I would have like to be told about this before hand. And also, If I am paying to use your patio then I shouldn't have to hold my ceremony during the lull between lunch and dinner. I was also charged fees for extending my reception. I extended the reception in half hour intervals, once before it started and once closer to the end for a total of 1 extra hour. The owner told me that they charge an hourly extension fee, half hour extensions are never pro-rated. I was so confused, no one had ever told me this and if they did, I would never have extended the reception in half hour intervals? She even told me that my reception was extended 2 hours and when I told her that was not the case, I had to email my DJ, have him confirm the time that he stopped working and forward it to the owner for her to believe me! I just could not believe the lack of respect after spending over $10,000 at her restaurant.
All in all, the owner and I's email conversation ended with her telling me that my guests were unruly and that she did not feel the need to refund anything essentially because of my guests behavior. I feel that her attitude was extremely unprofessional and downright rude, warranting this unfortunate review. I feel so strongly about this negative experience that I will never ever go to the Gables again. I'm even beginning to plan a baby shower for which the Gables would be a great venue but I just can't even consider giving the owner one more dime.
Please, please, review all fees with the OWNER (not just the staff) at The Gables before you consider them as wedding venue.
