Kim Pawley Helfgott is the owner and lead floral designer for The Garden Studio. Kim designs bouquets and floral arrangements for a limited number of weddings and events each year to ensure the highest quality of excellence. Kim will work closely with you to create a floral design plan that will complement your wedding colors and enhance your venue. The Garden Studio has built a reputation for flexibility, responsiveness, and attention to every detail to achieve your wedding vision. The end result is floral arrangements that are unique, beautiful, and memorable.
Background:
Kim decided to pursue a career that combined her lifelong love of gardening, nature, and art after many years providing training and technical assistance to improve human services. After working with floral designers for many years, she opened her own floral design studio in Annandale, VA to create a highly customized floral design experience for wedding couples.

From our first meeting, she understood what I was hoping to achieve, and over the following year, was patient and detailed in updating our agreements with every new request that came to my mind. From the time that I started working with Kim, she was so great about giving ideas and suggestions of what will and will not work based on the venue layout and the limited set up time that we had. She offers a walk through meeting at the venue to go over exactly what you are looking for in the placement of the flowers. Unfortunately she had an injury and was in the hospital right before the meeting but she was still so responsive and took the time to make it work with the videos that my planner had sent her.
On the day of the wedding, my bouquet was even better than the inspiration photos I had sent her. She made all the colors POP and it was so so visually appealing. My bridesmaid's bouquet was just as stunning and the flowers for our moms matched their outfits perfectly. The ceremony and reception flowers were exactly what I imagined, and I could not stop starting at them all night.
Kim is so professional in her communication and delivering the results that you want. At no point during the process did I doubt her ability to capture our vision. And she had captured it perfectly. It was so dreamy, whimsical, romantic, and classy, with vibrant colors on a rainy wedding day that made it truly felt like spring. If you are in doubt, I say to go and hire Kim! The flowers were such a highlight of the day!
Edit to add: It's been about a week now and while the flowers are obviously dying, I haven't stopped admiring my bouquet everyday. I'll be staring at the pictures of the flowers for years to come!

She had numerous calls with both myself and my mother, revised proposals numerous times, AND even came to our venue (an hour drive for her) to see the space and do an in-depth walk through to talk about our floral vision. I know nothing about flowers but she really worked to ask me questions and show me options to pull out from me what I wanted for the day. And let me tell you she created something more beautiful than I could ever envision. The pergola was stunning and better than any inspo pictures we looked at, and her and her team put it together on a cold day with high winds. And the main large floral of my bouquet was so beautiful and got me so many compliments, and Kim grew it herself! I was stunned! If you are considering Kim, just hire her already!
