The Gauger Estate

I’m Gabi, and The Gauger Estate has been my family’s home for generations. My grandfather, Eugene “Big G” Gauger, built the Gauger House in 1962 for his growing family, and later added the Lodge across the field as a place to gather for dinners, cards, and community. Those simple moments of togetherness are what inspired me to grow the Estate into what it is today. In 2020, when the world shut down, I came back to my family's home and started renovating, re-imagining, and pouring my energy into creating spaces that could hold not only my family’s memories, but yours too. With the help of family and friends, we’ve shaped the Estate into three connected pieces: the historic Gauger House, The G Lodge, and Fay Flower + Food Farm. (Named for my grandmother) Weddings here are personal and flexible. Couples can exchange vows surrounded by flowers at the farm, celebrate in the Pavilion behind the Lodge with music and dancing, and stay overnight in our suites, rooms and cabins. We provide thoughtful touches—like a décor room full of items to use, and farm-grown flowers for bouquets—so you don’t have to stress over every little detail. What makes this place special isn’t just the buildings or the land—it’s the feeling. Couples often tell me it feels like home from the minute they arrive. That’s exactly what I want: for you to feel welcomed, supported, and able to celebrate in a way that reflects who you are. Your wedding won’t be “just another event” here—it will become part of the ongoing story of this family-run estate, and we’ll be honored to host such an important chapter of your lives.

Ellie Brown first fell in love with The Gauger Estate not as part of our team, but as a longtime guest and supporter of our events. After years of being part of the community here, she joined us officially as our Director of Wedding Marketing — a role that perfectly combines her professional skills with her passion for the Estate. When she’s not bringing her vision and creativity to our weddings, Ellie works full-time at Union College in Schenectady, NY. Her background in higher education gives her a sharp eye for detail, organization, and clear communication — all of which shine through in the way she helps couples connect with our space. We are absolutely blessed by Ellie’s talents. She has a natural knack for aesthetics and branding, a gift for making couples feel understood, and an infectious positivity that makes the planning process feel both fun and stress-free. Her ability to balance big-picture vision with small, thoughtful details is one of the many reasons we’re so grateful to have her guiding our wedding marketing.

Steve brings a wealth of experience and a lifelong passion for cultivation to his role as Farm Manager at The Gauger Estate. With a deep background in gardening and land stewardship, he has spent years honing his skills and building a relationship with the soil that shows in every corner of our farm. From tending fields of vibrant flowers to managing the day-to-day rhythms of our produce and garden spaces, Steve shines in his ability to balance both the practical and the beautiful. His knowledge keeps our farm thriving, while his care ensures that couples and guests get to experience the land at its fullest — whether through lush ceremony backdrops, fresh farm-to-table ingredients, or simply the joy of walking through a flourishing garden. Steve’s steady presence, expertise, and hands-on leadership are at the heart of Fay Flower + Food Farm. We’re grateful for the way he helps the land tell its story and for the role he plays in making every wedding and event feel grounded, alive, and uniquely ours.

Krystal is the newest member of our team, but she quickly settled into her role as though she’s been here for years. As House Manager, she oversees all of the lodging at both The Gauger House and The G Lodge, making sure every space is clean, comfortable, and ready for guests. From coordinating check-ins to handling special requests, Krystal ensures that each guest feels cared for and every detail is in place. Beyond her professional role, Krystal is a devoted mother to three girls and a homeschooling teacher. That experience shows in the way she manages our spaces — with patience, attentiveness, and a motherly touch that makes every guest feel at home. Her warmth and dedication help create the welcoming atmosphere that defines The Gauger Estate, and we’re so grateful to have her bringing that energy into everything she does.
