The Gawnes

I can’t imagine our wedding without the Gawnes. They were so helpful beyond taking amazing photos. They had so many great references and recommendations and were instrumental in helping us nail down the details of our day. Our photos were everything we’d dreamed for and then some and the gallery that they organize them with is just wonderful. All of our guests were so impressed with the photo website/display. We would choose the Gawnes a million times over and highly recommend them for your special day! I know we’ll be in touch with them forever and will continue to use them for all of our future photography needs! ☺️

When I was planning wedding, I had no idea what I wanted or needed. The Gawnes made everything so easy - from offering amazing engagement picture locations & suggesting poses to making everything super comfortable & helping design the invites and wedding book, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. And the pictures are AMAZING. like, truly stunning. Cannot recommend with higher regards!!!!

My husband and I hired the Gawnes for our wedding, and they were a terrific choice on every level. They were reasonably priced, flexible, and delivered truly incredible photos. (They are also lovely, kind people whom we were lucky to share our special day with!) Maria captured the best moments of the evening, even the little ones that we didn't even notice. She had a great eye and memorialized our wedding better than we could have imagined. They are worth every penny and then some. We couldn't be happier with the result.

The Gawnes are amazing people and photographers. Our photos are beautiful and captured our day perfectly. We have received so many compliments and I cannot wait to hang them in our home. They went above and beyond and took pictures/video of my grandma and I the weekend before my wedding because she was not comfortable attending due to covid. Brian and Maria are hands down not only the best photographers, but one of the best people my husband and I have ever had the pleasure to meet and work with. They are an absolute dream team together. You will be spending a great amount of time with your photographers on your wedding day. So to have people who are not only phenomenally wonderful at what they do, but also incredibly fun, positive and excited, hilarious, at what they do is just as important. I can easily say that Brian and Maria were a big part as to why my husband and I, family, and guests had such a wonderful wedding day. We’ve already seen a few teaser photos before we see the final photos, and we are ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE. I almost cried. They just perfectly captured our feelings and emotions perfectly with their photography. They made getting our big family photos very organized. They have fool proof beautiful poses that they asked us to do, mixed with some hilarious and very heartwarming candid photos. What drew us initially to them was the breathtaking sunset photos from their portfolio, and while we have yet to see them, we are SO excited to see them. If you have any reservations at all, don’t. Like AT ALL. We want Brian and Maria to do our maternity photos and family photos in the future. That’s how wonderful they are. We love you guys!!!

We heard of the Gawnes through the Z Mansion, where we originally planned on getting married. Once we saw their pictures and talked to Brian at the fair they do on Wednesdays at Z Mansion, we know there was no one else we'd rather work with. I told Brian we wanted to face the fountain at Z instead of the gazebo, he said with our date and when the sun would set, the gazebo would be better for lighting. When I told Brian I didn't want to do first look, he said doing first look helps get rid of some of the pre-ceremony nerves and walking down the aisle is still a special experience, despite seeing each other before. From that moment, I knew they had my best interests at heart and wanted to give me the best pictures of my wedding. I trusted them fully, and I was not disappointed. We didn't end up getting married at Z Mansion, but I have zero regrets doing first look and their creative and artistic vision captured the most beautiful moments of our day. We are obsessed with our pictures and absolutely loved working with Brian and Maria. To say they are amazing would be an understatement. I absolutely recommend them to anyone getting married. Your pictures are a big part of how you will remember your wedding forever, and they capture the best ones.

We know how lucky we were to book The Gawnes so far in advance, and we loved every moment of our experience with them. They had great recommendations about everything and were super helpful, not to mention amazing photographers (and people). Neither Matt nor I take many photos normally, so we were a little concerned that we would be uncomfortable with the wedding picture process, but Brian and Maria put us both at ease immediately. Having them take our pictures felt easy and natural; we didn't feel out of place or awkward for even one second. We loved, loved, LOVED working with The Gawnes! I'm already thinking of how/when we can work with them again in the future. Having a husband and wife duo makes for such beautiful pictures from every angle. But above all, their energy and kinda spirit made each of our photo sessions comfortable and relaxing, rather than awkward and nerve racking. We personally felt like they took the time to get to know key factors in our relationship, which then transferred over to our photos. We would recommend The Gawnes a thousand times over!

We hired the Gawnes to photograph our wedding, and both the process and the result were incredible. It was absolutely worth the investment! We had interviewed several photographers, but we knew they were the right ones for us the moment we left our first meeting. We are both normally very uncomfortable and awkward when pictures are being taken, but they make it so easy to relax. They're hilarious too, which it turns out is pretty important if you want to be smiling in some of your pictures. They're VERY good at the technical stuff too - our ceremony was in full sun, and our reception was outdoors at night in very low light, and all of our pictures came out amazing. We also really enjoyed the collaborative album-design process after the wedding. We're super excited to get our wedding album! Thank you Maria and Brian!!

Maria and Brian Gawne are incredible. We didn’t shop around too much for photographers price-wise so I can’t give any advice there, but we got the package from them that included our engagement photos and a beautiful photo book. They were super helpful getting us started with other pieces of the wedding planning as well which was amazing. The engagement photos were incredible and our wedding photos, of course, were even more perfect! They kept the entire process fun and easy which means a lot on that crazy day! The Gawnes are the best!

I do not think there are words to describe how much I love The Gawnes!!! I met them at one of the bridal fairs in town and felt like we instantly clicked. After I had a meeting with Brian and Maria, I just knew we were going to be friends (Maria ALSO loves Hamilton, Gilmore Girls, and Harry Potter!!! I MEAN HOW CAN SOMEBODY BE SO COOL?! And Brian is one of the sweetest people EVER and these people are HILARIOUS. It was just non-stop giggles with them!) Not only are they fun, nice, and sweet- they are the most talented photographers I have met. They have an insane amount of experience and know how to photograph a majority of Tucson BEAUTIFULLY - their sunset photos are LIFE. They photographed my husband and I so well - I have always been so excited/nervous about what my wedding photos would turn out like (my husband is a little shy and is not a fan of having his picture taken), but as soon as we did our engagement session I knew I had ZERO to worry about, they kept us both comfortable and not awkward (I am REAL good about being awkward in photos) and they helped make it FUN to have our pictures taken! A lot of people that have seen our wedding photos say I am photogenic - and I say, oh no, The Gawnes are just SO AMAZING and took the best photos and documented our day so beautifully - our wedding photos turned out better than I ever could have dreamed. The photos are so perfect and I cannot stop smiling every time I look at them. In the package that we got - there is an album that is from this castle in Italy that is essentially an Italian Hogwarts and the albums created there are the most beautiful things - Maria designs them and they are seriously AMAZING. I am forever grateful that The Gawnes were our photographers - they helped the day be amazing and I honestly felt like they weren’t there as photographers, but as friends who also happened to be amazing at photography! I have also told them they are my photographers for life now - that is how much I love them. If you want to add to the experience of your wedding day in addition to having beautiful, fantastic pictures that will make people’s jaws drop - I HIGHLY suggest you meet with The Gawnes and hire them ASAP STAT!!

The Gawnes were great to work with! They were warm and fun, and they made sure we had many incredible photos to choose from. We really appreciate that they shoot film as well as digital, and we were super happy with the way the film shots came out—so timeless!

Best photographers we could have asked for. We met them at an open house at the Z Mansion where they had a large amount of photos to display for us, and were very straightforward on cost, what they offered, and how things would flow before and during the wedding day. They were simultaneously so, so professional and down-to-earth. They found special ways to relate with us to make the experience more comfortable and fun. They also presented back up plans just in case, which gave us peace of mind. We didn't even give them examples of photos we wanted and they exceeded every expectation I had set in my mind. We've compared our wedding photos to others (I know shame on me but I couldn't help it) and my husband and I agree we would 100% recommend the Gawnes to everyone and are so glad we chose to work with them. ... A few weeks fore the wedding they sat down with us and created a schedule of how the day would go, regarding photos, how long they would be there for, and how to keep the before wedding photos timely and organized. On the day of, they showed up early, acted professional and patient when a few family members showed up late, and took advantage of any spare time to catch more beautiful shots. They pay attention to detail, and have an amazing talent to create the most romantic and beautiful photos. It seemed like they had high quality technology, and worked well as a team together. They also provided a live gallery of over 800 photos of our wedding day and we even went with the smallest package! You can tell this is what they are passionate about, and that they can recognize the important special moments. I would 1000% recommend the Gawnes over and over. We are SO happy with our wedding photos and will treasure them forever!

Maria and Brian were so much fun to work with. Our photos turned out gorgeous, they are even better than I ever could have imagined. The Gawnes were the first and best decision we made for our wedding, hands down. I am extremely picky and knew I was going to be so picky about our wedding photos. Our engagement and wedding photos turned out absolutely amazing and far better than we could have even imagined. From the first sit down meeting with the Gawnes we knew we would be booking them. Having photographers that you enjoy being around on your special day is so important because they are with you all day long! They were so awesome, funny, and made us feel comfortable through the entire process which made the day that much more fun and special. Maria even bustled my wedding dress for me when nobody else knew how! Their communication was always on point which I so greatly appreciated during such a stressful time. We still get so many compliments on our photos and how they look photoshopped because they are just that good! If you are indecisive, don’t worry this will be the best decision you can make.

The Gawnes were the best decision for our wedding, they had photographed for one of my bridesmaids when she got married so I already knew how wonderful they were to have the day of the wedding but also how beautiful the photos they create are. I am the mother of one of the brides and am so happy that my daughter and daughter-in-law were smart enough and lucky enough to have chosen Maria and Brian Gawne to photograph their wedding! I was involved in all of the pre-wedding meetings and felt instantly that Brian and Maria were a good fit. They are relaxed, funny, detail-oriented, genuine, and talented. As we sat in their little studio space that first time and perused their work, a very favorable first impression was formed that was solidified at each successive meeting. Interacting with them on the "big day" was a dream come true! It was a stimulating, emotional, overdrive kind of day and I was able to let Maria and Brian do their job without worrying that the right photos would be taken. Even though it was a warm September day with lively, distractible family members, the Gawnes kept things moving as they choreographed the photography session and gathered various groups of people. Their candid shots were awesome; they captured both tender and celebratory moments! After the wedding, I had a bit of post-wedding blues and could not recall if our immediate family had been photographed with the brides....I literally cried when I saw all the intimate, warm, and sometimes silly photos that the Gawnes had taken of the various family groups, including several of our little group! One last thing: the Gawnes have a way of making you feel that you are the most important, interesting and good-looking wedding group ever, which is a great feeling! Love the Gawnes!!

One of the best parts of our wedding is the photos! The Gawnes did an amazing job. They helped make us feel more comfortable which created more natural looking photos. Weddings are stressful, and one of the smartest choices we made in planning our wedding was selecting the Gawnes for our photographers. Maria and Brian flew out to Florida to shoot our destination wedding and they were AMAZING!! They were extremely thorough and made sure all the pictures we were envisioning on our special day were captured. We had the best time with them and would book them again in a heart beat! The Gawnes were the best people I got to work with in my whole wedding planning experience. When I first talked with them, they were prompt with returning messages, easy to talk to, and very flexible with scheduling meetings. Their examples and selections were quite impressive. They are also flexible with their packages (swapping things in and out). It was great getting messages from them as it got closer to the big day. That told me they were thinking about us and completely on top of it. On the big day, they took care of us! Maria and Brian split up at first and covered the pre-wedding pictures of the bridal parties separately. That knocked out a lot of photos in half the time. Then they were so fun to work with, and got everyone to relax in their pictures. Throughout the night, they were the perfect combination of "keeping us on track" and "hiding in the shadows to capture all of the moments." In our final meeting to discuss purchasing our pictures, Maria was like an old friend that we were just chatting with, and made picking out pictures for our book such a blast! The Gawnes are great to work with, because they really know how to work a wedding. A process that can be frustrating and hectic, they keep it calm and keep it moving. I've seen others get flustered by unpredictable happenings, but Brian and Maria eliminate that and capture incredible shots and moments. They went above and beyond our own lofty expectations.

Brian and Maria exceeded every expectation while photographing our wedding day. Their portfolio immediately impressed me and my fiance, Daniel, and we were thrilled when they offered reasonable pricing. Prior to the day itself, Brian voiced some possible lighting issues for our venue's sunset ceremony, and promised to find a solution. Not sure what to anticipate, Daniel and I were highly impressed at the lighting design Brian and Maria were able to assemble on-site, day-of. They made sure not only to capture those irreplaceable moments, but make them also look stunning despite a tricky setup. Because of their dedicated engineering, Daniel and I were able to have our ceremony at the time and in the spot we wanted. This alone was spectacular service. On the day of the wedding, the Gawnes were respectfully punctual and kind in their insistence to keep us on schedule. At a time when family tensions were flaring and friend drama was spilling over, the Gawnes were a cool force to keep things on track. They were professional and efficient, but humorous and friendly. I know they made our pictures better before even beginning to take photos. I can’t speak enough to our gratitude. I have nothing but great things to say about the Gawnes! I am so annoying when it comes to photos and scrutinize every single detail- but I absolutely loved every single photo that the Gawnes took and produced. My photos were magical, nothing I had ever imagined and totally exceeded my (unreasonably high) expectations. I have lost count of how many times I have looked at them! I planned my Tucson wedding from South Carolina, so I relied on pictures and reviews to choose my vendors. I made the best decision when I chose the Gawnes for my photographers! They do amazing work. Brian and Maria are incredible! From our very first meeting with them, to our engagement session, through the end of our wedding reception, they were so much fun to work with. Our wedding guests complimented how professional they were: when we got our pictures back (7 weeks after the wedding, despite the Gawnes having a newborn), there were so many photos that we didn't remember a photographer even being around! They did a great job of capturing the personality of our friends and family, and our engagement and wedding photos are perfect. I wish that we could have gotten a few more sunset/dusk pictures from our reception, but that's the only thing I can think that I'd like to change. You definitely get what you pay for and then some with the Gawnes. They're professional, quick to respond, great photographers, and so easy and fun to work with!

Had an amazing time with Brian and Maria. They were very skilled at what they do and made a fun and relaxing environment. We incorporated our dog into our wedding which added an extra element of difficulty. Maria and Brian were extremely patient which allowed for us to get some great shots of the entire group. They also gave us full rights to the photos on a flash drive which was rare to find. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this power couple and plan to use them in the future for other photographical moments. I would highly recommend them!

These two were absolutely wonderful. My husband and I are super awkward and not great at taking photos and all of our pictures turned out amazing. We didn't have much time and they still managed to get photos of everything I wanted. They were super easy to work with and we ended up getting our pictures a lot sooner than we'd expected. Absolutely amazing!!! We had Brian and Maria shoot our wedding at the Z Mansion on October 1st and everything went flawless. The day went by so fast but they keep you up to speed in a very subtle way as to not feel stressed or worried. The photos turned out even better than my husband and I thought they could! There are a handful of unforgetful days in our time on this planet. You're marriage will be one of them. So to capture the memories your photographer is one of if not the highest of priorities. Gawne Photography is operated by a husband and wife team. They work in sync like few other photographers will. If like us you're not sure what you want they have the experience to lead you to good ideas and familiar shots that simply work. And if you do find yourself with an idea during the shoot they never hesitate to encourage and try to get that shot for you. On your wedding day you'll be so busy, so overwhelmed, that their experience and guidance will be a huge helping factor. They're worth every cent, especially if you're getting married at Z-Mansion where they have home field advantage of what does and does not work. I highly recommend their services. Remember marriage is (ideally) once in a lifetime, so don't skimp on the pictures, and you'll have no regrets with Gawne.

Brian and Maria are absolutely fabulous! My husband and I used them for our wedding (6/4/16) and would definitely recommend them! They both genuinely care that your day goes the way you want it to, and that your pictures come out no less than perfect! Our wedding was outdoors and Brian and Maria pulled off a creative no stress wedding photography session on one of rainiest days on record. Brian and Maria are fantastic! I have been to a quite a few weddings in my lifetime and the Gawnes were by far the most professional and organized (and artistic!) Maria & Brian made one of the hardest parts of a wedding very simple - they made my wife happy! The photos are of outstanding quality and did I mention that my wife is happy??
