The Gilded Vale at Clover Hill is a stunning wedding venue in Lenoir, NC. The property sits on a knoll and 70+ acres along the Yadkin River, overlooking the Yadkin Valley and nestled in the vale of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains. It consists of various beautiful spaces perfect for this once-in-a-lifetime occasion.
Before the big day, you and your soulmate-to-be can enjoy browsing various locations at this one-of-a-kind wedding venue. You'll get to choose from the Greek Revival Home, built in 1846, and an original 1810-1830 barn with hand-hewn dovetail timbers, also known as Mollie's Barn. The property also features Mae Ann's Cottage, Patterson Barn, and a recently built two-story library, Legerwood Surrey House. Each building tells a story, a collection of memories that represent generations of owners and our collective past.

OUR FAMILY
Hey there! We are Kris, Alicia, Garrett, and Douglas Huffman, the family behind The Gilded Vale at Clover Hill. We purchased the Clover Hill property in 2024 after much prayer, discussion, consideration, and a quickly growing desire to see this beautiful property and home once again return to the splendor it deserved and serve our community for many more generations to come. It has and continues to be a privilege to be a small part of her history and to live amongst a community of people who respects and appreciates that history as much as we do!
A bit about us: Kris was born and has spent his life in neighboring Wilkes County working in the construction, electrical and building manager industry for 20 + years. Alicia spent her childhood in Happy Valley and moved to Wilkes, where she met Kris, to assist in Administration and operation of The Villages of Wilkes (Skilled Care and Assisted Living) with her mother for 20 + years. Kris would inevitably join them there to oversee the buildings and grounds until the business sold in 2020. Kris, Alicia, and Douglas currently live in Ferguson and now enjoy dedicating much of their time to the preservation and restoration of Clover Hill and her beautiful grounds. Carron, Alicia’s mother, joined the project to restore May Ann’s cottage (old caretaker’s cottage) for extra guest sleeping space in 2025. Our family along with many extended family members work to make every event absolutely perfect!
