Stunning venue for special events. Hosted my wedding there and it was the perfect spot for an intimate wedding and our guests loved the venue! There’s an amazing sense of history here, which is perfect for a destination wedding like Savannah. My husband and I stayed the night before the wedding at the Gingerbread House and it was great. The rooms on the second floor had been renovated and they were inviting and cozy.
The venue manager Ann was really nice, accommodating, and replied quickly to any inquiries; unfortunately, I didn't get to meet her in person due to an emergency but she nonetheless made sure that we had everything we needed for our event. The bar staff was fantastic as well. I highly recommend The Gingerbread House, it's the perfect venue!
The Gingerbread House is a fantastic place to hold an event! The architecture inside and out is beautiful. The size of the space is perfect for a small gathering. Ann and her staff were very accommodating throughout the process of booking, planning and the day of our wedding. They’re quick to respond to questions and concerns! The bar staff they hire are also wonderful! We highly recommend using this space for any event!
I booked our wedding at the Gingerbread House before the Sarah/Michelle switch over. I was initially concerned because I read the past reviews about lack of response from Sarah….but sometime in the beginning of 2021, Michelle had taken over as coordinator and she was absolutely amazing! I am very type-A and need to be on top of everything and plan ahead, etc. Michelle was excellent at keeping me updated on everything she was doing, communicating with me, and answered my questions pretty much immediately. When it came down to it, I wasn’t stressed at all because I had no doubt in my mind that everything would be perfect….and IT WAS! From my cake, to my flowers, to the venue and the ceremony - I could not have asked for a better venue or coordinator. It was easy and beautiful! If you read past reviews, don’t let that get in the way of choosing this beautiful venue! I didn’t really work with the past coordinator, but I can tell you that Michelle is the best and will make your day AMAZING! ♥️
Thank you so very much to The Gingerbread House for hosting our wedding this weekend. Our 80 guests were blown away! Sarah was great to work with- and on the day of Amanda took charge of every detail and executed everything perfectly. If I would have asked her for a pink glitter pony minutes before the ceremony, you would have seen one prancing down the aisle and I would never be the wiser of how hard it was to get! We basically ended up having the run of the house for the entire weekend, which made everything so much easier and less stressful! Our guests raved about the food, which was a special vegetarian menu they made to accommodate us. The DJ was great for both the ceremony and reception. Everything ran smoothly and on time, and everyone had a great time in this beautiful old house. Thank you!
The gingerbread house itself is absolutely magical!! I am in love with this house! The food was amazing and I highly recommend this venue for a small, intimate wedding. Make sure to hire a wedding planner to help you out with all the details along the way and day of. We were a little nervous on how things would turned out but it went very smoothly and the guests, my husband and I had a great time.
Loved loved loved The Gingerbread house!!! Was so Beautiful and amazing!!! We will definitely be back in the future💖
Gorgeous menu, historic location the catering was fantastic. The flexibility of using vendors was easy. The bar package was a hit at the wedding. My wedding was wonderful. Enough room for 100 people. I had the ceremony outside reception inside. Eveyone loved the food. The site manager was not present for my wedding but had communicated everything prior. It was nice to be able to stay over night. I was very apprehensive prior to the wedding but my day went off without a hitch and was gorgeous so all's well that ends well. I would definitely recommend, I felt like a princess and if I had to do it all over again I would!
I can’t say enough great things about the Gingerbread House!! My fiancé and I had an unusual elopement because our immediate family included 18 people. Sara had no issue with helping me plan exactly what I envisioned!! The house is absolutely gorgeous, our ceremony was in the parlor, everything was womdweful!! Thank you for making our special day even more perfect!!
The new manager is wonderful and I enjoyed working with her! She knows her stuff. The Gingerbread House was so beautiful and we had such a great reception!
My wedding was everything that I wanted! The home is beautiful and served our group well ! Sarah, the manager, also did the planning for me and can't say enough great things about her. Excellent service and attention to details. She took great care of me. All the way around it was a great experience, start to finish! Highly recommend The Gingerbread House
I got married at The Gingerbread House last week, and everything was just perfect. Sarah was great to work with and made the planning process easy. She was wonderful on the wedding day and went out of her way to help us. Amanda, her assistant, was great too and a lot of fun! The house is gorgeous and perfect for our wedding!
I just recently had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Gingerbread House and everything was perfect. There were a couple of issues (like not informing all brides of an arbor being put up) when they went under new management, but Michelle exceeded expectations with the issues and everything was beautiful. The area was intimate, the atmosphere was amazing and my guests and I had so much fun. We were extremely pleased with the outcome of the day and event altogether.
I've been working with this venue since last year. This year I started working with Sarah and she has been great. She has worked to tailor our package to make sure it fits us. We were previously told that we could only have 20 guests including us which meant we'd have to cut out a lot of family, but she let us know we could add additional guests which made us very happy. Its a great location with all inclusive packages unique to any other venues we looked at in Savannah. The house looks gorgeous and we would recommend anyone to use this venue for a destination wedding in Savannah.
We were so excited to have our wedding at the Gingerbread House and my mom even drove all the way down to Georgia for us from New Jersey to check things out in person before we booked (I live in London and my fiancée lives in Iowa.) Unfortunately I think the wedding planning is under new management because we spoke with a woman named Sarah and she was both disorganized and in the end was quite rude. We asked for some changes and clarification in our contract and she quite obnoxiously went back and forth with us via email telling us that the terms we wanted added in were unreasonable and that no venue in the area would include them so if we wanted to look elsewhere we could...we looked at 4 other contracts in the area that had exactly what we had asked for so I'm no sure if she is new to the area or new to wedding planning but the whole experience with her turned us off. I had two different calls with her initially and both times she seemed so pleasant and would say she'd email me with what we had discussed (I.e. Preferred vendors, our contract, etc) and then I'd never receive anything and have to chase it up from her a week or so later. I'm not sure if they're just that busy and stressed that they can't keep up with new customers but the idea of having her be our "wedding planner" with the few weeks of interaction we did have was very helpful in making up our mind to go elsewhere.
We had a June wedding reception at the Gingerbread House and loved every moment of it! Brittany was so helpful and accommodating throughout the process. I had a marvelous experience, our guests loved it, and I’d highly recommend it for a bride looking for a unique Savannah wedding/reception location.
My daughter was married at the Gingerbread House on December 31, 2015. With Michelle's help, we rented the courtyard behind Foxy Loxy for the ceremony and held the reception inside this lovely home. 100 attendees were cozy but not crowded and the older folks appreciated being able to escape the dance music and converse and relax in the living room. The bride and her close friends slept upstairs, enjoying being alone together before the big night.
Michelle was professional, available and made wonderful suggestions. She reached out when she needed information from me and reached out again patiently if I didn't respond within a few days. She always answered promptly when I needed information from her.
On the big night Michelle and her crew worked seamlessly alongside my team of helpers to make my daughter's wedding in the Foxy Loxy courtyard and reception in the Gingerbread House stress-free, beautiful and very happy.
Well I just had the opportunity to tour the gingerbread house this evening and its so beautiful. Michelle was very sweet with hearing out a prior issue(bad experience with a concierge) and has been very opened to work with me. Even though my fiancé and I have not picked a venue yet, we will recommended family and friends to the place. Just make sure to call and speak with Michelle one on one.
