First of all the venue is absolutely gorgeous! It sits on a hilltop overlooking downtown Seattle, downtown Bellevue, Lake Washington and on a clear day, the Olympic Mountains. The... facility is very well maintained and from what I understand undergo constant updates and improvements. The grass is perfectly manicured, the flowers beautiful and abundant that it'll compliment any wedding or event held there. It's very clear they have a great management team that take pride of maintaining the space.
We were assigned with a Newcastle Wedding Coordinator who unfortunately left the company 2 months after we booked the space. Kimberely, our replacement wedding coordinator, took over and the transition was seamless. She and the staff were extremely accommodating to our sometimes seemingly odd requests. For example we had several guests who were on a Buddhist diet of not eating garlic, onions and green onions. The chef was able to provide a special entree for these guests (even through we opted for the buffet for everyone else). They were also encouraged to go to the buffet line for sides and veggies which had little signs to tell them whether or not it had garlic, onions and green onions. In addition, Newcastle was able to assist in my vision of the dessert table. Think of Style Me Pretty type dessert table where I had streamers, garland and pom poms hanging from a curtain rod. Newcastle attached the curtain rod with a fishing line from their wall/molding so it looks like it was floating. These were just a few things we were able to assist with. I could go on and on about Kimberely and the staff!
We had our ceremony in the Prestwick Terrace which is their permanent outdoor tent structure. There's a lot of draping, high ceilings, very open space. Our cocktail hour was in the patio, where lots of picture taking happened there (especially as the sun was setting.) Our reception took place in their Ballroom, very spacious and decor elegant, not stuffy.
All of our guests can't stop talking about the venue and view! It's definitely one of the prime locations to get married in the greater Seattle area. Whenever I'm asked where I got married at, it usually followed by 'you got married there?!' with 'oohs' and 'ahhs'!
I do want to mention that Newcastle hosts as many as 3 weddings a day! You might come across another bride in passing but they do a good job flipping quickly/efficiently and putting up (attractive) barriers to separate the parties. Also when we went for the tasting, the food tasted absolutely delicious but then on the day of the wedding, the food wasn't as memorable. Maybe being a foodie and it being my wedding, I'm being over critical. The venue is also a little on the pricer side but I think for a wedding to remember for years to come, it is well worth it!!!
