The Grand Barn At The Mohicans Treehouse Resort

We were asked for some colors/inspo photos, but what we were provided was sort of a generic "fall" theme, and more like a vase of flowers and not a bridal bouquet for carrying specifically. If you have a specific idea on how you want things to look, you'd want to provide your own. The cake was more than adequately sized for our very small 10 person guest count. It tasted OK, a generic cake, got the job done. The contact-less check-in was a bit nerve-wracking because there's nobody on-site to help troubleshoot and nobody answers the phone directly. You have to leave a message and hope someone responds timely. They did within the hour, but not very comforting when it's the day of the event. The access codes didn't arrive when they were supposed to, but ultimately someone did call back and email them. There was no explicit rain contingency communicated and there was some confusion with the vendors about which area could be the rain backup as it ended up raining about 16 consecutive hours. It's rustic, as part of the charm, but be aware there was zero trail safety lighting between the Treehouse and the guest cabin, and the groom ended up severely twisting an ankle and there was no ice or first aid kit available, you're entirely on your own for injuries. There was also poison ivy growing up into easy accidental access that one of the guests had a bad reaction to. It's absolutely not ADA or elderly/mobility challenged friendly so consider your guests, and it's non-paved roads to access, and they suggest you send out maps and written directions as GPS and cell service is spotty. I would have preferred more of these limitations were clearly communicated during the booking call so we had the full picture ahead of time. I don't know that it would have affected our decision, but the little things that kept popping up to warn people about added stress. The photographer was lovely on site, although I haven't seen the photos yet. Again it was pouring down rain and there isn't well-lit indoor options with the Treehouse or cabin and she was not setting up a light kit, so there's not really a contingency plan for bad weather. I'd suggest bringing your own aesthetic umbrellas and factor that into makeup choices. The photos on the website include indoor portraits, but that was not offered as an option, so the rain plan has to be pro-actively discussed even if it's not in the forecast, as ours wasn't until the last few days. Don't expect them to reach out. I probably would stay there again as a little trip, but it I were booking a wedding again, I'd have a LOT more questions about safety, contingencies, if there's anyone on site or immediately available if there's issues, all of the access limitations guests should know much farther in advance.

sts enjoyed dancing on the patio and the bonfire, and the glowing lights just made for the perfect evening. Amy, our day of coordinator, did a wonderful job keeping everything on track and making sure the timing of things went flawlessly. All of our guests just loved the venue, and we did too!

nning and the day of seamless. The venue itself is one of a kind and I truly could not imagine my wedding day in a better place. I could rave about so many different things about this venue, but our day of manager, Amy, was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t say better things about her, she truly went above and beyond and made sure everything went smoothly for us. I don’t know what we would have done without her.

the venue in March of ‘22 so, many questions were asked). The ‘rental room’ they offer relieves SO much stress of trying to find decorations and signage, I highly recommend adding it. The list of vendors they give you is a BIG help, utilize it. Our event manager was truly wonderful the day of, we are incredibly thankful to have had her help. A special addition to having a wedding here is being able to stay in a treehouse connected to the Grand Barn AND have friends & family stay at the venue the night of the wedding. How neat is it that your guests can just walk back and go to bed after a night of celebration and laughter?! I truly could not imagine a more beautiful venue to get married at. Everything exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to come back and stay again!

veryone who had a hand in getting everything executed did so like the professionals that they are. Our event coordinator, Amy, was such a delight to work with and made sure everything was going according to plan. Amy made sure that all of the curveballs were already handled before we even knew about them. Without her, our day couldn't have been such an amazing and magical experience for us all. It was wonderful to hear from the guests how cool it was in their treehouses and cabins. It's like everyone was able to have a unique experience with each place being so different. We've now stayed in The Silver Bullet, The Tin Shed as well as The Nest with plans to eventually stay in them all. Each time has been different experiences in the best ways. We would highly recommend having your wedding here because you couldn't get a better place or better staff to help make it amazing and there's no doubt they deliver that time and time again. You should also come here for your weekend getaways. There's no better place to spend some time.

had excellent communication, friendly and quick to respond to any/all questions, and an Event Day Manager for day of communication. We had Emma & Ellie as our EDM & Bar staff, they were both amazing! Going above and beyond for our family/friends. The weather didn’t cooperate with us, so we had to move to the pavilion but Emma was ON it! Got everything handled very last minute to do the switch and was running around to assure she was getting everything done that needed to be so our day would be perfect! Could not have picked a better venue to trust with our special day! Would HIGHLY recommend! I fell in love the minute we pulled up to our first visit!! We are so happy we picked The Mohicans & our guests all raved about the venue as well!!

ut the beauty and uniqueness of the venue. The bridal suite is gorgeous and the staff assisted with professionalism and kindness. They gave us a preferred vendor list and made it so easy to book everything we needed. The "Nest" treehouse that is included is just the cutest and they decorated it so special for our night. Do not think twice or hesitate to book this venue.

edding day, and our wedding was exactly as we pictured it. Our guests loved the venue, and our wedding party and families had a blast staying in the cabins and treehouses that night (especially our toddler nephews)! We would not change a thing about our wedding day, even if we could (well, except maybe the fact that it drizzled for most of the reception - but even then, the party continued on the covered deck)!
