The Grand Belle is a beautiful barn, perfect for weddings. We met the owners and they showed us around and gave us some history of the barn. Once we decided to go with them, we planned our rustic wedding theme to go along with the barn setting. The coordinator, Sarah, was absolutely amazing the day of our wedding! We could not have done it without her! Any time we had questions, Sarah was able to answer them for us. The bartender and staff were also very nice. Here is a short breakdown of the positives and negatives of our experience:
Positives:
- Absolutely beautiful venue, perfect for some amazing pictures.
- Helpful coordinator (Sarah), who was incredible on our wedding day to make sure every little detail was taken care of.
- The bride suite was perfect for hair/makeup and preparations for the wedding.
- Lots of backup plans for "just in case" situations (weather, seating, etc.).
- Bartender was quick and friendly with guests.
- Staff members were very helpful on the wedding day, making it smooth and less stressful.
Negatives:
- Only 2 food vendors to choose from (we went with Chowhound which was absolutely incredible!). They limit the food vendors because of their work ethic, attention, and cleanliness.
- Seems like a lot of "rules" for the venue, but isn't anything to worry about. Just follow the rules and all will be fine.
- We didn't realize beer was not being served at cocktail hour downstairs, and only served upstairs. This is something we might have missed in the details, but it wasn't a big deal.
We suggest going through every little detail of your wedding and communicating with The Grand Belle on your ideas. They will work with you on figuring out options and helping you make your special day memorable. All of our guests had a great time and told us how beautiful everything turned out. We highly recommend choosing The Grand Belle for your wedding!
Our wedding at the Grand Belle was a wonderful experience. We booked well in advance, so our timeline for deadlines was quite spaced out, but anytime we had questions we received an answer. Sometimes not too timely, but never longer than a week. The owners were helpful in the process and extremely accommodating when we needed tweaks or things done. The space itself is wonderful. It dresses up beautifully and has a warm feeling but doesn’t appear too dark. We were blessed to have perfect 65 degree May weather, so we were able to see the GB in its fullest. We had an outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour in the basement, outdoor activities, and a bonfire later in the evening. With the barn door open, guests were able to naturally flow in and out of the venue and the space felt very large. That being said, if the doors are closed it can feel a bit small. We had 150 guests and it felt like an intimate gathering during dinner which was perfect for us. The venue provides bartenders, but you’ll have to provide the alcohol. We’re very happy to have chosen the Grand Belle and if you have a wedding in the 120-160 range, this venue could be perfect for you

There are three levels to the barn, surrounded by three acres of green grass and trees, which means plenty of room for up to 160 guests. Upstairs is an expansive onsite bridal suite with a full private bathroom and a separate changing room. A fieldstone wall walk-out basement for a designated cocktail hour space while you take pictures. A stunning main floor with original barn wood all around. All of this is climate-controlled, with air-conditioning and heat to accommodate all types of Michigan weather.
The Grand Belle provides many offerings for you and your guests during your wedding day. The venue can be rented fully furnished, with tables, chairs, buffet tables, a cake table, and more to accommodate you and your guests at a countryside reception. The dedicated event team will be on-site to assist with the setup and takedown of your event. Moreover, the venue can provide a trusted list of local vendors to add to your experience.
