The Grand is so beautiful that there isn't much need for extra decorations -which saves money and stress! Caroline is a joy to work with. She always responds promptly and is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of weddings. I definitely recommend The Grand!

Nestled in the heart of Dothan, AL, The Grand on Foster is a breathtaking wedding venue, providing fabulous backdrops for all your romantic celebrations. This elegant setting, found in the historic downtown area, curates a dreamy atmosphere for every couple who chooses to gather with their loved ones on their most special day.
Open to spouses-to-be since 2010, this building actually dates back over 120 years, adding a sense of magical grandeur to the occasion. The Grand on Foster's charm is seen in all three of its spacious ballrooms, alongside the enchanting outdoor Courtyard. With space for up to 500 of your nearest and dearest, this property will leave you in awe. Begin festivities in the Upstairs Ballroom, where ceremony dreams come to life. Here, five brick fireplaces, lovely views, and two draped balconies make for amazing photo opportunities. The Orleans Ballroom is stunningly intimate, with an open floor plan, exposed brick, dramatic chandeliers, antique moldings, and a Brazilian Cherry hardwood dance floor. Step back in time in the St Charles Ballroom, a setting that boasts Italian Renaissance furnishings, decadent goldleaf mirrors, and a stained glass window from the 20th-century American Gothic style. Couples who wish to host their soirée outside can head to the Courtyard. Previously a jewelry vault, this space has been renovated and features a bar, brick walls, a 14-foot fountain, and secluded balconies. You and your party can also get ready in their Parlor for a truly seamless morning preparation experience.
The Grand on Foster is a full-service event venue. The staff will be by your side throughout the planning process and can provide a recommended vendor list for your perusal. Your rental fee includes tables and Chiavari chairs, as well as setup and cleanup, taking care of the details for you. An in-house bar has all the barware required for a refreshing drinks service. Meanwhile, lighting and sound will ensure the ambiance is top-tier throughout the day.

We had our wedding at the Grand. We currently reside in Macon Ga, but majority of our family is in the Wiregrass area, so we decided to get married in Dothan.
Pros:
1.The venue i...
s beautiful and has charm especially if you envisioned a vintage wedding.
2.The price is also reasonable considering it can accommodate 200+ people in their ceremony space, reception space and courtyard area.
3. They were very quick to respond with questions, and if my venue coordinator did not know she would ask the head venue coordinator.
4. You are able to arrive as early as 8am and you have it all day with an on site venue coordinator (it will be best to still hire event coordinator)
5. No hidden fees
Cons
1.) not wheelchair accessible for guest. They only have stairs to the upstairs ceremony space, so if you have guest with disabilities, they will not be able to attend the ceremony upstairs.
2.) The main ballroom can only hold about 90 guest if you envision a ballroom reception. If you have more guest they would have to be in a separate ballroom or in the courtyard area causing your guest to be split. We had about 150 guest. Half of our guest were unaware we had a live painter, missed cake cutting and toasts due to the rooms being split. A venue with open space with all guest in one area, and just another area for cocktail hour would have suited us much better.
3. We booked the venue a year before our wedding date, and apparently our venue coordinator and point of contact changed, but no one made us aware of this. I only found out whenever it was time for us to set up a date to go over floor plans. The new coordinator was new. She was nice and kind, but it would have been nice to know we had someone new before 3 months before our wedding date.

ment pictures there before the wedding. I would recommend this venue to anyone. If I had a complaint, it would just be that we found out a week before the wedding that the cleaning fee was not included in the venue cost. I'm sure it was probably in the contract but was not stated in the initial meeting. Overall, I had the wedding of my dreams thanks to The Grand and its staff!

ld be stressful planning a wedding in our hometown of Dothan, Alabama, so we decided to let Veronica Philpot assist us in the planning and we are extremely happy that we did. Veronica impressed us from the start by lining up vendors for us to talk to each chance we were able to make it to Dothan. She worked with our budget and was able to get us everything we wanted. Veronica's talents showed greatly on the day of our beautiful wedding as she kept everything organized all while allowing us to have a stress free day. Multiple guests even had positive comments in reference to her organizational skills. We highly recommend the Grand on Foster and Veronica Philpot.

ht. It was an absolute pleasure to work with The Grand's Wedding Coordinators. Our coordinator felt like a member of our family towards the end. Not only were we overwhelmed with the beauty of the exposed brick walls, the hardwood floors and the crystal chandeliers; we were overwhelmed by the love and assistance our planner gave us. She went out of her way to assist in any way possible to make sure everything was a dream! In addition to the wedding day festivities, we used the venue for my bridal portraits. The Grand on Foster makes everything look AMAZING!!

I didn't have to worry about anything the whole night. The outdoor space is absolutely stunning as well, and if you get the chance, TAKE YOUR PICTURES HERE. Our pictures are incredible, our reception was incredible, and the Grand is incredible.

y other venue in Southeast Alabama's Wiregrass Area. Our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be and more. We received tons of compliments from our guests on the venue. I used one of The Grand's wedding planners. She was AMAZING. She was never too busy to help me, and she went out of her way to make everything the way I imagined.
