The Griswold Auditorium

We recently got married and used The Griswold Auditorium as our reception hall. We got married at a beautiful gazebo on the water called Mahan Park Gazebo which is walking distance on the boardwalk of the Kalamazoo River to the Griswold. It is an old beautiful building (great for pictures)! It was $500 and for a wedding venue, that is an incredible price. They have a kitchen and seating/tables for up to 200 people (I believe they actually have enough between round and rectangle for 250 or so). We had 200 people and it was a comfortable fit. We had an outside caterer who cooked right on site. There is a bar area and also an upstairs open area where we put our dj so there would be more room on the floor. We were able to set up the day before and clean up the day after. This place is great for any bride on a budget who doesn't want a cheap looking wedding! Definitely look into it. Also, if it was raining, we would have been able to use the actual auditorium part of the building upstairs for $50 extra. Vicky Knuckles runs the building and was an incredible help. Check it out :)
