The Groove

The Groove was such an amazing DJ service to use. We had the pleasure of working with Andy, and he was seriously the best. He was easy to work with, very responsive, and he helped us with not only the DJ and music aspect of our wedding, but also the overall flow of the event. He gave us advice on when we should allow for speeches and helped us with our timeline. As a very indecisive couple, we really appreciated his expertise and input throughout the process. Andy has also worked at our venue several times so it was really helpful that he knew so much about the event space. We’d use him again and all of our guests complimented our choice of music! Thank you Andy!

Andy was great throughout the planning process. He was very confident which made me feel confident throughout the crazy planning leading up to the wedding! He was great on the day of and even pronounced our names correctly which doesn’t often happen! When a few songs played that I didn’t love he read the room and switched it up immediately. That’s everything you could want in a DJ!

Andy's company is professional with quality service. Andy provided good communication and streamlined planning. The DJ for our wedding, Jay, was phenomenal - he made excellent song choices and was an all around great emcee!

Working with Andy was such a pleasure. He was extremely professional and so easy to work with. There was extensive communication before our wedding day, and he took the time to go over all of our requests and made the effort to ensure he pronounced all of our names correctly. The online portal was very easy to use, and he made sure to play all of our song requests, and the playlist for both cocktail hour and reception was perfection. Highly recommend Andy and would always choose him again if we ever need a DJ/MC.

I paid $450 deposit/retainer fee and unfortunately have had to move my wedding date. Therefore, I've had to waive my deposit. I think it's unreasonable when the initial wedding date is more than six months out . Thankfully the hotel and wedding coordinator were able to switch the dates without needing another deposit, as we don't all have money to dish out twice. People need a little leg room sometimes. I'll be using a playlist now.

Andy was absolutely incredible! He was funny, charismatic, and super knowledgeable. He matched our vibes and crazy music taste perfectly and could not have set things up better for us. We were so incredibly happy to have him be part of our day. 100/10 recommend!!

Andy was our DJ for our wedding in September 2022 and did an absolutely fantastic job. He catered to all of our guests requests ahead of time and made sure everyone was on the dance floor to keep the party atmosphere up the entire night. He was professional, organized, and made recommendations specific to our venue that guarenteed the day went seamlessly. We would highly recommend him for any future event, you will not be disappointed!

Andy was a blast and made our wedding night so much fun! He did a great job of mixing in the songs we specifically requested with other songs that fit in perfectly with whatever the dancing mood was at the time. He also was an awesome MC and helped to push the night along throughout all of the different events. He was very attentive to what was happening at the moment and we received a lot of compliments from our guests about how much they enjoyed him. He was so on top of it that he even noticed our college being mentioned during some of the family toasts and played our school's fight song at the perfect moment! Overall Andy was such a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him.

Andy was amazing and made our wedding day go so smoothly! We had a lot of moving parts, a live musician, and he truly helped to run the show. He made sure there were people on the dance floor the entire time and played a wide variety of music to please all age groups and interests. He was very willing to incorporate requested songs from our guest rsvps, and took inspiration from some playlists we put together. A DJ can make or break a wedding day, and I cannot recommend a more fun, reliable dj for your big day! We also loved that he offered the phone guestbook and photobooth as an add on to our package. He handled all set up and we got our messages back the next day! Thank you Andy for making our dream wedding become a reality!

We loved working with Andy on our big day at The Darlington House! As a couple who's taste in music is all over the place, Andy was able to guide us in making selections that felt true and authentic to how we wanted our big day to feel. He had great suggestions for songs that fit our unique vibe, and kept our dance floor hoppin' all night long. We also used Andy for uplighting and rented a Photobooth through his other company - Starlight Photobooth!

I recently worked with Andy and Tim for DJ services for my daughter's wedding. Andy contacted me very quickly after my initial email and provided me with a quote and all the information I needed. After that we worked with the DJ assigned to our event, Tim English. Tim was great! He met with us by phone to go over the play list and timing of special moments (first dance, grand intro, etc.). Tim had everything ready to go when we got to the reception, he was dressed very nicely, and the tunes just kept coming all night long after that. We literally did not stop dancing all night! It was so fun! These guys do a great job and I would highly recommend them for any event!

In searching for a DJ or our wedding, we had pretty high expectations as dancing was what we most looked forward to doing and Andy met all of our expectations. I reached out to several DJs in the area who provided vague details of their services and did not want to make time to speak over the phone. From the second I reached out to Andy at the Groove, I was blown away by his customer service. He responded to my initial email within a day and we set up a phone call right away so I could decide if he was the right fit for us. I was very impressed with his feedback over the phone and booked him. Closer to the wedding, we discussed our eclectic taste of music from Motown, to 80s new wave, 90s, Latino Pop and Cumbia/Salsa and we were not sure how it would come together. But Andy blew everyone away! He played everything we wanted and more! Every song he played was a hit with our guests. He read the room perfectly and everyone was dancing the whole night. We had so many guests come up to us saying it was the best DJ they have had experience with. Even days later, our guests our mentioning the awesome DJ. So incredibly happy with our experience with Andy and would highly recommend him to anyone!

Andy was an amazing DJ for our wedding. We gave him creative liberty for a lot of it because we trusted his judgement and he did not disappoint!! He was an amazing MC and played perfect music depending on who/how many people were dancing. He was incredible to work with from when we booked him for our wedding through the entire reception. I would 100% recommend him for anyone and would use him again without a doubt!

We had the absolute best experience with Andy and The Groove. He was so fun and easy to work with and I always looked forward to talking to him! He was so flexible and helped us perfectly edit the song we wanted to walk down the aisle to so it worked perfectly. He also did a FANTASTIC JOB WITH THE MUSIC ON THE DANCE FLOOR. He really read his audience and just came in with banger after banger and our hoarse voices the next day from singing the night away further confirmed that! He also helped us when we ran into a little unplanned snafu and helped seamlessly keep the wedding going and keeping the guests having the time of their lives. Andy was professional, fun, and truly cared about our special night and the vision/vibe we wanted to create for our guests. We were referred to him by my best friend, and it also turns out he was the DJ for my sister's wedding 10 years prior! Super dependable and great at his job. We also loved that he played a wide variety of music (as we requested) so ALL wedding guests, regardless of age, found a place on the dance floor throughout the night!

Andy is the best! I’ve known Andy for several years. He provided the music at my former place of employment. I always wished I had an occasion to use him as a DJ. When my now husband proposed I knew immediately Andy had to be our MC/DJ. He did an incredible job. We live out of state, so all our communication was via phone and email. He played great music that kept everyone dancing all night. Our wedding coordinator even came up to me and said she had never seen a bride dance practically every song at a wedding. I could not help it; the music was so good that I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to dance to a great song. We had a lot of guests from Germany and Andy played some German songs. It was a lot of fun watching the Latinos teaching the Germans Latin dances and vice versa. Months after our wedding we still had people telling us it was the best wedding ever, and we know the main reason for that was because of the great music Andy was playing. He played a great mix of Latin, German and American dance music. Andy does an amazing job of reading the crowd. During one of the songs Andy noticed that people were singing along and during the chorus he would lower the volume and all you heard were our guests singing along. He also did a fabulous job with lighting. The up-lighting set a soft romantic feel in the ballroom. Andy also helped with the timeline and kept everything on schedule. Andy is very professional, he always responded to our calls in a timely manner. We highly recommend Andy. You will not go wrong with him.

The Groove and Andy made our night so very special! It was so important to my husband and I to have a full dance floor all night long - and Andy accomplished just that. The dance floor NEVER cleared! He was great to work with us through the types of music we wanted, the mood, the atmosphere we wanted for our night. Not once did Andy make it about him or what he wanted, he was so focused on making our day exactly what we wanted. If I was to do it again, I'd chose The Groove 100x over! Thank you Andy and The Groove for helping make our night one we will never forget!!

We hired The Groove to DJ our wedding a few years ago, and to this day one of our favorite memories, that friends and family continue to rave about, was the dance floor that evening. It was packed the entire time and I think every single person got out there for at least one song (and many never left!) Andy was our DJ that night and prior to the big day we were able to sit down with him and discuss our vision, favorite songs...and "please don't play" songs :), and songs and announcements for specific portions of the evening (cake cutting, etc.) He was so professional, helpful, knowledgeable, full of suggestions, but also really listened to what we wanted and executed perfectly the day of. I can't say enough good things about this DJ company for helping us make our wedding day even better than we imagined it could be!

An absolute must hire for your wedding! Andy from The Groove was amazing from start to finish. I was overwhelmed with the thought of having to plan the music from start to finish but Andy instantly put me at ease. He made the process easy and enjoyable, something I didn’t think would be possible while planning a wedding. On our wedding day, Andy knew exactly what to do for each part without needing anything from me. What else could a bride ask for on their big day! He kept the music going the whole time with people out on the dance floor nonstop. We were all sad when the wedding had to end because the music was so good! I would recommend him to anyone and everyone if you are looking for someone organized, easy to work with, and most importantly someone who will keep the dance floor going all night.

Andy is an amazing DJ, and saved the day by jumping in and running my ceremony music. Wouldn’t have wanted anyone else! His playlist met all our wants and expectations. He is professional and timely. Gave us a great price. Thank you so much for making our wedding day perfect!

We have been cursed with substandard DJs in our past family weddings. I’m thrilled to say the curse is broken! We hired Andy Hagenah at The Groove for our daughter’s wedding over Labor Day weekend, and we are so happy that we did! He is on then”preferred vendor list at our daughter’s wedding venue, The Grand Tradition,” and we now know why. Due to the strange Covid world, we had to postpone one time. Andy was both flexible and accommodating. When our venue didn’t allow group dancing and a DJ, he stepped up to be our “emcee” instead. He also offered to set up his equipment in our backyard in 110 heat so that we could host a dance party after the “reception.” As if that wasn’t enough, he bought extra lighting for us to use in our dark backyard. He was spot on in the timing of every single detail, having met with us beforehand to fine tune the unusual details of the day! I can’t recommend this DJ enough. Book Andy Hagenah at The Groove. He won’t disappoint!

Andy did an excellent job! My husband and I planned our wedding from across the country and Andy was very accommodating. We talked via phone, email, and skype. I was worried about the music selection (just because I like being in control). But he far exceeded my expectations. Our guests are still talking about how great the DJ was! We highly recommend this company.

Andy was amazing! we got so many compliments on the music and the vibe that he created. He did a great job pronouncing everyone's names (I've got some long greek and polish names and he didn't butcher anything!), was wonderful as our MC. I danced the WHOLE time- he did a great job reading the crowd. But more importantly- and specific to him- he was amazing to work with leading up to the wedding. Communication was always really straight forward and easy. He actually listened to what I wanted, and remembered details from our first meeting! He was my favorite vendor by far and I'm so grateful for all he did to make our wedding so wonderful!

Andy provided MC, DJ and photo booth services for us. We cannot speak highly enough of his contribution to our fabulous wedding. Pre-Wedding : Andy met with us several times and was an excellent communicator in between. He worked closely with us to provide a descriptive timeline that all the other vendors used, and really spent the time to get to know us. Dealing with Andy was hassle-free, professional, and enjoyable. Additionally, as we were having a destination wedding (LA based), Andy was able to plug us into other vendors and helped us to arrange a day-after party for all of our traveling guests. DJ Services : Andy was a fantastic DJ. We aren’t the type of couple that would micro-manage the music selection, yet we do have our particular tastes. We trusted Andy to provide a musical atmosphere at our wedding that was inline with our own tastes, and he far exceeded all expectations. He has a deep repertoire of musical knowledge and truly knows how to read the crowd. We could not recommend Andy enough and if the need ever arises for a DJ in our future, he’ll be the first we call. MC Services : Andy was a charismatic MC. He really let the wedding take center stage and follow a more organic/free format.. which we loved. Everything was well timed and on schedule, and moreso, everyone loved him! Photo Booth : The photo booth was huge! It fit 10 people in frame easily and was such a highlight of the wedding. Everyone loved the props and costumes, and the service was set up promptly and run professionally. If you are in a situation between upgraded silverware and a photo booth, nobody remembers silverware. Overall : There is no regrets or small fits we had when dealing with Andy. If you want a hassle-free and knowledgeable DJ/MC that keeps the party going, look no further. And get the photo booth!

Andy was awesome at our wedding. He was very personable and easy to work with. We planned a wedding from across the country and he hopped on Skype to talk to us about our plans. He was able to read the crowd and keep the reception going. He also was very accommodating to special requests and last minute changes. I would definitely recommend his services to other brides and grooms!

I absolutely loved Andy!! He was so helpful and professional!! He helped me not only with music selection but also setting a time frame for the whole day! I cannot say enough good things about him! Tim English was the DJ/MC for my wedding this summer, and he did an excellent job. He had the perfect balance of taking charge of the crowd (ie directing them when they needed to do something) while still being very non-obtrusive. He definitely got everybody dancing the entire time! He did an excellent job, and I would highly recommend him as a DJ or MC.

my husband and I were very happy with Andy and his prices were very resonable. We had several meetings with Andy to make sure all of the music choices were what we had wanted. He has a great online program wher you are able to let him know songs that you definetely want played at your wedding as well as songs that you DO NOT want played, no matter who requests them. Andy was able to take all of our music (country, hip-hop, 60's 70's & 80"s) and blend them all during the reception and really made it work. I highly recommend DIsc Go Round DJ. He also did the music for the ceremony and was also able to find us a videographer at an amazing price only 2 days before the wedding!

Andy Hagenah did an awesome job at our wedding ceremony! He really brought everything to life! He worked with us before the wedding to make sure the music was what we hoped it would be. Andy also took video at our wedding since we did not have a videographer! That was so sweet of him! I would highly recommend his services!

A good DJ can make or break your wedding they say. I call BS. What you need is a DJ who if he is doing something you dont like he will change it. It is your wedding. So get them. if you dont like how they doing it, they will change it in a second. That being said, they were pretty smooth and had all the latin music I requested.

The entire goal of reception was to keep people out on the dance floor, and Tim did just that. Everyone I talked to kept telling us how amazing our dj was. Our dance floor was packed the entire night, and Tim really kept the pace of the reception moving. He kept the music light with big band and jazz standards during the cocktail hour per our request, and then upped the tempo for the after dinner dancing. I would highly recommend Disc Go Round for anyone ready to have a big party at their reception!

Andy Hagenah is a genius. Best vendor I picked by far. Put us at ease and everyone was raving about the music...it was the best night of my life and Andy set the tone.

Andy is the perfect DJ. He is fun and personable but not cheesy. He is extremely organized too, which I really appreciated. I was very concerned with keeping everything on time at the wedding, so we didn't have awkward/long lulls, where guests didn't know what to do. He met with me the week before the wedding and went over the schedule minute by minute. On the actual wedding day he made sure everything stayed on track. He guides your guests through the day, but does so subtly and tactfully. He also is great at understanding what type of music you like and plays stuff that suits your style. I was worried I wouldn't be able to dance at my own wedding but I ended up never leaving the dance floor because that's where all my guests were :).

Where do I begin with Andy...he excelled in every aspect! We were very particular in our song list and requests and Andy read us perfectly and saw exactly the vibe we were going for. People were dancing till the lights turned on! Andy also worked within our budget to make sure we had the perfect day..he provided lights and the photo booth and ran everything without a hitch! He was an amazing MC for the entire evening, and was incredibly easy to work with and accomodatig through the entire process. The thing that Andy offers that not all other DJs do is that he will listen to your requests, and even if you are not sure exactly the songs you want he will work with you to determine the theme or vibe that you are looking for and will make it happen...he does not have his own agenda nor does he have a boiler plate wedding that he forces upon you. I highly recommend conacting Andy!!

Andy has certainly made a a good amount of effort in making sure the timeline and the music flows on the night of the wedding. His price is probably one of the most reasonable one that we had found, after interviewing about 4 DJs. He also gave us discount on paying it in full at once. The guest especially love the lights he put on at the hall, it was just the perfect color, the perfect dim and the perfect shine on my cake. I love every bit of it. He catered our music to what we wanted too. Great job to Andy and we would highly recommend him to anyone!!

We couldn't be happier with our selection of Andy Hagenah to be the DJ for our wedding. Andy is professional, friendly, and has a great sense of the moment which applies to his emcee skills and his composition of music. Andy truly made everything that we wanted to happen possible. We had a special request to play a couple of video tributes to those not with us, one of which was for our first dance and had to be perfect. Andy ensured that it was perfect, and for that I will be forever grateful. Andy impressed us from the moment we met him - we knew he had a great command of what he was doing, and it really showed in our wedding. If we could give Andy 6 stars, we would!!!

DJ was the hardest vendor for us to choose. There are so many DJ's who turn the event into their own, rather than the special day of the bride and groom. We did not have that problem when we met Andy from Disc Go Round. From the initial meeting, we felt he was there to make the day special for us. Thanks to Andy, our wedding had a great flow. Our wedding ranged from young children to elderly adults, and he was able to read the crowd and cater the music to everyone's tastes. He was a wonderful DJ and we would highly recommend him.

Andy was the dj for our wedding and he was so great! I'm sure my husband and I were a bit of a challenge...he likes classic rock and bluegrass and I like hip hop and pop music. Andy sat down with us and helped us map out our entire wedding using a blend of both our music styles! He was great and the day of the wedding he was not at all cheesy and very funny!

Andy knew exactly what we wanted and when we wanted it...he's a true professioinal DJ. very reliable and fun and didn't play any cheezy songs that we didn't like. The sound qulaity was great...he played music before, during and after our ceremony and kept the party going during our reception too. we had a great time!

Andy is so professional and very organized and efficient. He coordinates with your other wedding vendors so that he can create a timetable of your needs for the day. He stays true to your style and caters to what your needs are. He offers great suggestions and is fun to deal with;He is the BEST!!!!!!
