- Pilar ZorroViolinist - OwnerPilar Zorro is a Colombian violinist and educator whose work beautifully blends the traditions of Classical music with the rich textures of Latin American rhythms and the freedom of contemporary improvisation. With a deep commitment to musical education and cross-cultural dialogue, she has built a multifaceted career as both a performer and a teacher. Pilar began her performance career as a member of the UniMusica Quartet, with whom she won several Colombian national chamber music competitions and performed in renowned national and international festivals. Over the years, her performances have taken her to stages in New York, Boston, and Finland, captivating audiences with her expressive playing and distinctive sound. As an educator, Pilar began teaching violin in multiple youth orchestras inspired by the “El Sistema” program, fostering musical growth and community among young students. Her passion for traditional Latin American music and improvisation led her to the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned a Master’s degree in Contemporary Improvisation with a concentration in Music-in-Education. There, she studied under innovative artists and educators, expanding her musical vocabulary and deepening her belief in the power of improvisation as a tool for personal and cultural expression. Today, Pilar continues to perform and teach with a focus on versatility and creativity. She is passionate about helping her students—and her audiences—experience music as a means of communication, connection, and celebration, transcending boundaries of genre or style.
