The Hearnes Adventure Photography

Very disappointed that a refund won’t be made. In the midst of a pandemic with National parks closed, flights cancelled, and hotels closed - this vendor refuses to work with a young couple and give a refund. So disappointing- they should be ashamed of themselves! Every time we think of, and visit this park it will be marred with the thought of a mean photographer. #refundneeded

Beware of these people. My son and his fiancé hired the Hearnes for their wedding in Yosemite right now, June 2020. The day has come for the wedding and Yosemite is closed, because of Covid. Abbi had 2 phone calls with my son and fiancé letting them know they could choose either the last weekend in October or one weekend in February of 2021. Neither of these worked, his fiancé had her time off scheduled last year as she is a healthcare worker. They let Abbi know this and said they really wanted Yosemite, could they reschedule for June of 2021, she said no, this would not work for her, she didn’t plan to travel to Yosemite the summer of 2021. The scheduling would not work so they asked for a refund of some of their money. Abbi then refused to talk to them anymore and refused to send back any of the $6,500.00 they had paid. For the Hearnes to refuse to refund any of the money and never take one picture is borderline robbery. She bullied my son’s fiance into signing a cancelation by saying she would have to pay the entire $13,000.00 if she didn’t sign by 5pm on Saturday. I just found out about all of this and read the texts and emails she sent. My future daughter in law is kind to a fault and did not want to fight and was upset Abbi was threatening her with the additional money. I am appalled that anyone would treat a person this way when she admits they cannot get into Yosemite Park. In one of her responses Abbi says “I am out here in California you need come (from Detroit, MI) as I am here and can take you to a different park within 4 hours away, or another state. How in the world can she expect them to do this when they have 12 family members coming as well, none of them with new hotel reservations as they were all in Yosemite, and not knowing how to do this when California is still in lockdown? Michigan which is also fighting the Covid crisis has been hit hard and is still in lockdown. For Abbi to say this with no regard that 12 people who have flights out of Detroit going to Arizona and then to California shows her total disregard for Covid-19. At least the airline is offering to let us cancel as well as the Airbnb in Yosemite. Full refunds they offered as they would rather people from MI stay put. Her attitude is literally I am here and you need to get here or I will keep all the money is disgusting! Yosemite was where they wanted to be and she acknowledged she is there and the gates are locked and we cannot get in. We were hoping things would change but my son could not get a wedding permit and it was very apparent Yosemite would not open in time for their wedding. Abbi does not care; she is all about her dollar, how selfish! Yosemite being closed does not mean they canceled on Abbi. Must be her family is not in California as she has no problem insisting people from Detroit travel there when most in California are encouraging us not to come and Stay home Stay safe. Apparently Abbi is unaware of what is going on in these times. I am going to see a lawyer on their behalf to read over the contract and pursue, but this will take time, in the meantime I am forewarning anyone who deals with them to take heed! They say Covid will come around again and if it happens to you Abbi is all about you putting your wedding on her time and wherever she happens to be. She is not at all what she portrays in her website verbiage.

Professional, friendly, and great at what they do. Our photos are INCREDIBLE. On top of that, Abbi & Callen were incredibly communicative and helpful in the months/weeks/days leading up to our wedding, and continued to be during the wedding itself. During the ceremony and other key times throughout the wedding, the Hearnes were unobtrusive, but managed to capture beautiful candid shots of the event. During family photos, they worked quickly and efficiently to capture all our different groupings, while keeping everyone smiling and happy! It was during the sunset photos, though, where they really outdid themselves. Before the wedding, they scoped an amazing spot to capture a view of the Sawtooth Range near our event. Then, on the day of the wedding, they sprang into action while trying to catch sunset (my husband and I had lingered too long at dinner...), driving quickly up a dirt road to the spot they'd found earlier, and working as a team to capture twice as many shots while we strolled through creosote and sagebrush. The sunset photos took less than 30 minutes, and yet they captured amazing alpenglow on the mountains and tons of epic shots. These two are pros of the highest caliber, and lovely people to boot. I couldn't be happier with our photos.

When my partner and I began planning our wedding we knew right away that we really just wanted our wedding day to be a fun, laid back day where we explored a beautiful place with a couple of rad people — oh, and got married. Enter Abbi and Callen Hearnes. Right from the start, communicating with Abbi and Callen felt natural and easy. Despite the physical distance between us and then (they were at the time living and working on the road), they made a genuine effort to get to know the two of us and our ideas and hopes for the day. My partner and I kept things pretty simple for the big day — a few sentimental words and hugs exchanged at sunrise followed by our dear friend marrying us in front of a small group of our family and friends — and Abbi and Callen were fantastic in that they never made us feel like we needed to do anything more. They encouraged us to be ourselves and helped us plan a day that felt unique to us. As a result, we felt comfortable being ourselves and interacting with each other as we normally would in front of their camera lenses. Now, I will admit that I worried a lot beforehand about how I'd look in the photos. (I'm human!) I'd been following Abbi on Instagram for a while and every couple she photographs is simply stunning and I was convinced I was going to ruin her streak. When we got our photos from Abbi (with an incredibly quick turn around, I might add) I cried. All I could see in those photos was genuine love and joy. Yes, Abbi and Callen are ridiculously talented at capturing stunning natural landscapes. But what makes them truly gifted is their ability to draw out and capture deep belly laughs, ear-to-ear smiles, eyes shining with joy and emotion. Hire them and you will treasure the memories your photos evoke forever.
