We will never forget our wedding at The Henry Ford! From the planning all the way to our big day. Somer was amazing to work with and was very understanding of our busy schedule during this process. She made sure everything was in place and nothing was missed. She stopped by to make sure everything was how we wanted it and made sure we knew who our team was. I appreciated her compassion when my grandfather was able to make it last minute. We had enough wheelchairs and the staff assisted with making sure people were where they needed to be.
From the manager, our server, the bartenders and the entire staff, everyone was so attentive without being overbearing. A quote from my family “It’s like they read our minds and there they were.” No one felt as if they were hovered over but all of their needs were met.
We can’t forget to mention the food!! It was absolutely amazing! It was just like our tasting and did not disappoint.
This venue was perfect for us and we are looking forward to coming back to visit often, possibly even a membership. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of the wonderful staff involved in making our day perfect!! The Henry Ford will always be a special place for us.

We could not have had a better experience than working with The Henry Ford for our wedding this past Saturday! They made everything as easy as possible for us coming from out of town for our wedding and our event manager Somer was professional and prompt to reply to communications throughout. Our guests could not stop complimenting us on the food and the unique museum setting, everyone had a wonderful evening!
We had our wedding reception at Lovett Hall and it was truly magical. The venue itself is stunning & The Henry Ford staff is superb. From start to finish the staff was incredibly professional, friendly and timely in their communication when it came to planning the event, and on the day of the reception itself the venue's service was amazing. I would highly recommend Lovett Hall as a venue.
The only thing I would keep in mind is that because the building is historical you are limited in terms of flashy entrance ideas - no sparklers, confetti, rice etc. Ultimately this is not a huge deal. They also do not have an internal audio system so a DJ has to bring all of their own equipment.
Any questions?
Lovett Hall is an absolutely gorgeous venue with delicious food, unique additions, professional and courteous staff and has everything you need for a perfect wedding day.
We cannot thank the THF Events Team enough for all of the work and attention put into fine details of our day. It was absolutely PERFECT and we’re still relishing the memories and catching ourselves smiling about the little things every day. I have to admit, I got a little teary eyed when we opened our gift, and then again when I got Aileen's 2 week-aversary email. I thought awe, I don’t get to work with Aileen anymore. She really made the experience so seamless and it was always a joy to get a new update or question from her. Thank you so much for the generous gift and every call, email, change, correction and addition over the last 18 months. We look forward to the continued memories made at The Henry Ford thanks to their gift. I hope to get the chance to work with this team again through other events. Thank you so much!!!
My wife and I had our wedding reception at Lovett Hall at the Henry Ford and cannot recommend it highly enough. We worked with Somer Hudzik during the planning process; she exemplified professionalism and promptly responded to all our questions. Our reception ran smoothly with absolutely first-class service from the waiters and bartenders to our banquet manager Kimberley Schmidt. We received countless complements from our guests about the venue, the staff, and the food. We will be sure to recommend the Henry Ford to anyone looking to host a banquet or reception.
P.S. make sure to get the Downtown Desert package; it was a huge hit!
We couldn't have asked for a better venue and team than The Henry Ford! From our first inquiry, through the end of the reception, THF's amazing team was right behind us to answer any question, accommodate any request and find solutions when we weren't sure if something could be executed.
Somer and the events team were incredibly responsive and kept us on track (and relieved we weren't behind!). Lovett Hall was a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony and reception and the team made sure every detail was how we envisioned it.
The food was spectacular. Most of the time, wedding plated dinners tend to be "Acceptable" but every single guest went out of their way to let us know that the meals were delicious, regardless of meal choice. The afterglow snacks and food were also a HUGE hit. It was a blessing to have both the catering and venue set the bar so high.
Also helpful were the ceremony and reception on-site coordinators to ensure smooth service throughout. Our vendors also had nothing but compliments about their interactions with THF staff. We would recommend THF to anyone looking for a unique, gorgeous venue.
There are not enough positive words to describe what we experienced with THF on our wedding day. It was the most magical night of our life, and THF made it all come into being. The food, the staff, the location… it was all perfect and they completely went above and beyond expectations. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking to have a history-making wedding that will be remembered by all your guests as the best one they ever went to.
Everyone at the Henry Ford is absolutely phenomenal! They’re easy to work with, make sure everything is to your liking, and work hard to ensure your big day is seamless. The venue is stunning so having amazing event managers made the whole experience the best we could have asked for. Everyone is still talking about how it was the best wedding ever and it’s all thanks to the wonderful people at the Henry Ford.
The venue space was incredibly beautiful and accommodating. Somer helped guide us throughout the whole process flawlessly. Would highly recommend!
I loved working with The Henry Ford Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan for my wedding. My parents were married at the Martha Mary Chapel and had their reception on the grounds as well. I knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps, so my husband and I started working with the staff at THF soon after our engagement. Every person we worked with was very professional, kind, and supportive through all parts of the process. Our event manager, Somer, was such a blessing to work with and made everything so easy and stress free! The staff that were at the chapel on the day of the wedding guided us smoothly through the events of the ceremony. The food at Eagle’s Tavern was something to rave about! So many guests shared how great the dinner was; especially the potatoes. My husband and I were assigned our very own server who never let our glasses go empty. It was the best day of our lives, and we are so thankful for the care that was given to us by The Henry Ford!
We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at Lovett Hall. We truly could not have asked for a better venue, or a better coordinator. Somer helped us with every detail leading up to, and including, the wedding day. She helped us customize our menu and drink options, she worked with us on draft after draft of the guest list and seating chart, she set up a wonderful tasting for us, and so much more. Not to mention that she was just an absolutely sweet, genuine person and was wonderful to work with.
The day of, our banquet manager Kim was just as helpful. All the staff made sure that all the guests were well taken care of, but gave a personal touch for myself and my husband. We had our own waitstaff tending to anything we needed, who brought us a tray of the passed hor d'oeuvres that we missed at cocktail hour, as well as a tray of the desserts from the dessert table. All of these added touches were so thoughtful.
Even at the rehearsal the night before, everyone was so helpful - even helping my parents unload things from the car. And then reload them after the wedding concluded on Saturday!
In addition to the wonderful people we worked with, the venue and food were just absolutely amazing. Lovett Hall is gorgeous, and the staff made sure that all the tables were perfectly spaced, and that the linens, chairs, and place settings were all perfectly aligned and shining. The food was also delicious. We had passed hor d'oeuvres - smoked salmon savory cone, beef shawarma skewers, and mushroom phyllo cups (all so, so good) - along with a bruschetta display for the cocktail hour. For our entrée, we had a duet plate, with horseradish crusted whitefish and a beef filet. The dauphinoise potatoes were also just absolutely amazing. We had so many guests comment to us that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had, and I whole-heartedly agree. I even received comments about how great the vegan option was, which is not always the case at venues.
I could honestly keep going on and on about how wonderful this venue was. We quite seriously had a fairytale wedding, and it was in large part due to Somer, Kim, our chef, and the rest of the staff, along with the drop-dead gorgeous venue.
If I could do it all again, I wouldn't change a thing. It was perfect.
Amazing! From planning to service to food everything was perfectly executed.
We can't say enough good things about The Henry Ford. If you're even remotely considering having your wedding here, DO IT!
We had our wedding in Lovett Hall, and it was beyond perfect. From the very first interaction with the planning team over a year ago, we felt so well taken care of. We were lucky enough to work with Samantha to make our wedding vision come to life, and she was spectacular. She was prompt with responses, helpful with suggestions, and flexible with meeting our requests. The service team on the day of was no less helpful. Our ceremony coordinators, Donna and Jessica were helpful and kept everything on track with a smile on their faces. Alex, our banquet manager was efficient and friendly and ensured perfect service all night long.
The venue is absolutely stunning and the grounds were immaculate for our wedding day. It took our breath away to walk into the ballroom for a "first look" and see everything come together, including our upgraded plateware and glassware.
The food is what really put our wedding over the top. We were excited after our tasting, but we wondered if they'd really be able to pull off a filet and chicken for 170 people. Boy, did they. We got rave reviews from many guests that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. From the incredible passed apps and display station to entrees, the dessert bar, and of course, the late-night Coney dogs and tater tots, everything was spectacular!
We'll never be able to fully capture how special we were made to feel by the entire team at The Henry Ford and how grateful we'll forever be that they made our wedding day so perfect!
Absolutely phenomenal! We had our wedding at Lovett Hall on 10/28/23. Everything was like a dream! The hall was breathtakingly beautiful, the food was INCREDIBLE and Donna and her team took care of every detail for us. So many of our guests told us that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to!
Lovett Hall at the Henry Ford is the perfect venue if you want tradition, elegance and a stunning site that is imbued with the subtle sense of history wrapping around you as you enter each room. Donna and her staff were over the top supportive, with an entire crew ensuring that prewedding set up was completely thorough (site visit, tasting of food and deserts, rehearsal complete with several staff on hand to ensure it went smoothly). The wedding itself--the food, the staff, the drinks and the ambience, made for a perfect evening. The ceremony in the garden, surrounded by flowers, was lovely. Then--you share drinks in the large first floor lobby, you step up the lush staircase to enjoy dinner, dance on the floor, chat on the balcony, linger with guests near the stunning staircase.... So many told us it was simply the best wedding they had ever attended. Photogenic without needing much additional in decor, and with staff checking every step of the way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, (including a few last minute changes) made it an easy fun night for this bride. As an older couple we wanted elegance and a bit of history, and it was perfect.
We had the most beautiful wedding! Donna and her crew ensured that everything ran smoothly and perfectly. The food, staff, and service were amazing! Thank you HFM for making our day the absolute best! ALL of my guests raved about the venue.
Donna and Somer were fantastic! They helped us plan the perfect day. We had our ceremony in the Pennsylvania Courtyard and reception in the museum, and both looked stunning for our wedding. All event staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and we heard nothing but positive things from all of our guests. Highly recommend for a beautiful, memorable wedding!
We had our wedding at Lovett Hall and had a great experience. Somer and Emily were both amazing and answered all my questions anytime. Didn’t even have any wedding day hiccups! Could not recommend more, the food was delicious and the venue was stunning
Our wedding at Lovett Hall was absolutely magical! Lovett Hall is such a beautiful, elegant, romantic venue. Donna was our event coordinator and she was unbelievable. She was so helpful and made sure the details of our day were perfect. We couldn't have asked for more. The historic beauty of the indoor ceremony space and reception area was exactly what we wanted. If you are considering booking your wedding at the Henry Ford, you will not be disappointed (and ask for Donna!)
All of the event staff at The Henry Ford were wonderful to work with. They helped bring the vision of our wedding to life and it was a beautiful day! All of the food was spectacular, I wish that I could have their chef cook us food more often. Many of our guests commented that it was the best steak they'd ever had! It is a gorgeous place to get married.
We even rented a Model T to drive us around Greenfield Village to take pictures. We felt like royalty being driven around by Ray with everyone waving to us, in addition to getting some gorgeous photos in the Village.
I look forward to being able to host some other type of event in some part of The Henry Ford some time in the future!
My daughter's wedding was magical! The venue was gorgeous. Everything from taking pre-ceremony pictures in the museum to our ceremony & reception was amazing. The food was spectacular. The staff was so attentive. Our guests have not stopped raving about the wedding! From the moment we met our HF event planner to leaving at the end of the evening, we had the best of care!
Our wedding was in Lovett Hall which is a stunning site with incredible architecture everywhere you turn! We had an offsite wedding at a nearby church and were able to access to the museum for beautiful picture locations for hours with our wedding party prior to the reception! My fiancé and I are avid book readers and the 100% selling point was the library on the first floor under the ballroom which was amazing for pictures too! Just an incredible night and experience and would recommend readily :)
My daughter’s wedding was incredible! We worked with Aileen who made sure every detail was perfect. Planning a wedding can be challenging, but Aileen made it seamless. We could not have chosen a better venue. Having the entire museum open for guests was very fun. The food was so delicious, and the staff were the best! The chef even prepared a special dessert for my daughter and son-in-law. So totally unexpected! The level of service was beyond compare. All of our guests loved it. It really was the best day ever!
Best review ever! Staff was amazing. Everything went as planned. Food was unbelievable. Overall best day ever!!
I cannot recommend Lovett Hall enough! From the moment we toured it we were in love! Our whole experience with Lovett Hall was fantastic. I truly cannot say enough positive words. Aileen, Dawna, and the whole wedding planning team were extremely helpful and supportive. I asked a lot of, what I thought, were "stupid" questions and they answered every one with patience and understanding. We had changes through out and the team was flexible and able to make it all happen. The Chef was incredible as were the other staff members that were there the day of the wedding. Such a wonderful experience and we know how lucky we are and how much the team at Lovett Hall had to do with it!!
Every interaction with the Henry Ford events team was incredible and positive. From the tour and booking our date with Donna, to our event coordinator, Samantha, to our ceremony reps, Tina and Nancy, to our banquet manager, Pat. Seriously, every single person was an absolute joy to work with.
When I saw the reception decor, I could not believe it. It looked EXACTLY as I had pictured it, and I am a pretty particular person. We got so many compliments on our venue- on how beautiful the chapel was, the uniqueness of Eagle Tavern, and SO many compliments on how great the food was. Absolutely wonderful wedding planning experience.
The whole team at The Henry Ford was awesome, but we were so lucky to work with Aileen, who was a complete joy to work with every step of the way. When unforseeable circumstances conspired to change our plans for historical transportation, she went above and beyond to make it perfect for us (and honestly our Model-T photos are some of my favorite from the whole day)! I can't say enough good things about the food, the ambiance, the service, etc. etc. etc! We are so happy to be able to visit the place where we got married anytime we want, which you will never get from a regular old banquet hall! We were married at the Martha-Mary Chapel, cocktail hour at the carousel, and reception at Eagle Tavern. Highly recommended in every way, and our guests are still talking about it months later!
Our wedding at The Henry Ford (Lovett Hall specifically) was incredible. The entire staff was amazing to work with. We especially appreciated our event manager, Samantha. She was so accommodating, easy to work with, and really helped make our day perfect. They helped us with things that I know other venues do not (for example, your reception timeline). Samantha was always so responsive when we had questions, and we just really appreciated working with her. During the reception the service for THF staff was phenomenal, and all of our guests raved about the food (we did too, the food was fantastic). I could not recommend The Henry Ford enough. They helped make it the best day ever for us and our guests.
We had the BEST experience with the team at The Henry Ford for our Lovett Hall wedding! Samantha Saylor was amazing to work with throughout the entire process from venue walk throughs, the tasting, and days leading up to the wedding. She helped make us at ease during a stressful time and kept us on track. Communication was thorough, responsive and also so helpful. We had an issue come up with one of our external vendors and Samantha ensured the Henry Ford team could resolve it for us so it wasn’t an issue on our big day. Cannot recommend this venue and team enough. Amazing space, wonderful food and awesome team. Highly recommend to couples looking for a venue for their special day!
My husband and I had our July 2022 wedding at The Henry Ford Museum. Our event manager Samantha, made every step in the wedding planning process so easy and stress free. From assisting us with the details of the decor options to choosing the perfect menu, Samantha went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding was exactly what we envisioned. It’s evident that Samantha and the team at The Henry Ford are passionate and take a lot of pride in their work to really do an amazing job. A top notch team and venue that made our night a truly memorable experience! Highly recommend!
As the mother of the bride, I was tasked with many of the details regarding the reception. From the moment we saw the venue (inside the museum) and met with the staff we were impressed. Not only was our contact person professional, timely and organized, she was also a pleasure to work with. The process and timeline that they provide breaks down every detail and takes the stress out of the process. The food was served warm and was cooked perfectly. Not only were we thrilled with how everything turned out, but our guests are still commenting on how unique and beautiful the space was!
Aileen, and the rest of the team at The Henry Ford Museum, made our November 25th wedding perfect. We chose the day after Thanksgiving as our date, which presented some logistical challenges because of the holiday, but Aileen and the rest of the museum staff made sure our day went off without a hitch. The ceremony in Anderson Theater was well coordinated, the cocktail hour near the presidential limos was perfectly executed, and the reception next to the Christmas tree was spectacular. Our guests raved about the food and service and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the exhibits in between dancing under the bomber. If you are looking for a gorgeous venue, with unparalleled service, we highly recommend The Henry Ford Museum for your wedding.
The Henry Ford was hands down the best vendor my husband and I worked with while planning our wedding. Right from the start, the staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. They sent us an overview of the planning timeline as soon as we booked and provided us with the menu packages ahead of time. Though there are a few restrictions due to the Henry Ford being a historic site, our event manager, Aileen, was extremely communicative, open, and honest with us and still went out of her way to try and accommodate our requests. Any time any change happened, Aileen made sure to update and send over our event order right away. The entire staff truly made us feel like they were invested in our wedding, which we appreciated. We will always be so grateful that we were able to have our wedding at such a wonderful venue.
Throughout the entire process, Aileen was incredibly responsive and helpful with guiding us on our wedding planning journey.
The only thing I am disappointed about was not having any staff to direct our guests where to go (ceremony at the Martha Mary Chapel, cocktail hour at the carousel, reception at Eagle Tavern), despite being told there would be guest service staff to direct the guests. There were also supposed to be wheelchairs available for the older family members due to the walking distance between the three locations. Because we were taking pictures following the ceremony, I didn't realize there was no staff present to guide guests, and no wheelchairs at the chapel until a few weeks after the wedding when our family was discussing their experience.
Despite this incident, we give five stars for the quality of the food, service, accommodations, and overall venue.
Some of our favorites from this experience:
-the chef introduced himself and gave us a personalized dessert with our wedding date outlined in chocolate syrup
-allowed us early entry into the village to take pictures
-event planner came to check in on us on the wedding day, even though she wasn't working that day
-the grounds at the village were well kept with beautiful flowers
-wait staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating
-maintained the integrity of the historic venue with candle light, historic dishes, and time period-appropriate clothing
-cocktail hour on the carousel-everyone absolutely loved it
The Henry Ford was a great venue! They did an amazing job coordinating before and during the wedding. They were very responsive and helpful. The food was amazing. Highly recommend.
Lovett Hall is a beautiful venue. The food and drinks were great, all our guests had fun
I highly recommend having your ceremony and reception at Lovett Hall! The hall is absolutely breathtaking, i appreciate that they are upfront with all costs, and the s staff were so helpful and fun to work with. They Made Sure My day was beautiful and went as smoothly as possible!
Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend
We had our reception at Lovett Hall and it was AMAZING. Donna Van Landschoot was such a pleasure to work with. The food was AMAZING, and we got a lot of compliments on the dessert bar (Downtown Desserts - highly recommend this!). Donna made the process as easy as possible and always helped us with any questions. We had a different venue booked that fell through 9 months before our wedding, and Donna was very sensitive to that and made sure we didn't hit any further bumps in the road. We were also able to rent a Model T to have parked in front of the hall for guests to take pictures with and take a ride in - it was a big hit! We had a perfect day. I highly recommend Lovett Hall.
We had our wedding at Lovett Hall, the ballroom at The Henry Ford, and it was the best decision we could have made. We were drawn to the historical grandeur of the space, as it fit in perfectly with the feel we wanted. Donna Van Landschoot was amazing to work with throughout the entire planning process, and the reception came together beautifully. They really make it easy for the couple and the family and take care of everything. The food was so delicious at the tasting but I was worried if it would be just as good when feeding 190 people. However, the filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare and everyone loved all of it. I could not say enough good things about the experience at The Henry Ford.
We loved this venue, we got so many compliments on our wedding! Samantha was so easy to work with and made our day perfect. Thanks!!!
The Henry Ford is the perfect venue for anyone who is looking to host an elegant and beautiful wedding! Our wedding ceremony and reception were both located in Lovett Hall, which is a stunning ballroom located behind the main museum. Lovett Hall is a gorgeous venue, with marble floors, large fireplaces, and crystal chandeliers hanging over a wooden floor. Donna was our wedding coordinator, and she did a wonderful job helping us plan our wedding, from picking out linen colors and tableware to helping us organize a room layout and timeline. All of the guests loved the venue, and everyone was raving about the food. I particularly loved the extra touches that The Henry Ford offers, such as a champagne toast, customized signature drinks, and a pretzel bar snack bar. We were able to take our wedding photos throughout the museum, which led to some incredible and unique photo opportunities. Booking our wedding during the first quarter saved us thousands of dollars, which made this venue affordable for our budget. Overall, the staff at The Henry Ford helped bring my wedding vision to life, and I couldn't be more grateful for all of their guidance and support.
A fairy tale wedding come true! Lovett Hall at The Henry Ford was everything I dreamed of as a little girl growing up! More importantly, the staff, specifically our event manager Samantha S. made it the best planning and wedding experience! We were originally supposed to have our wedding August 29, 2020 however due to COVID we had to postpone until August 28, 2021. This was not an easy decision for us but Samantha was in constant contact and whenever I wanted to chat about how I was feeling she made herself available to chat and calmed my anxiety and nerves down. Whenever in communication with Samantha you could feel her excitement for us in her voice! Even in her emails you could tell just how happy and excited she was to be part of our wedding planning! She kept me amped up with her positivity. This is the type of person you want to be working with when planning your wedding! Samantha was professional, had an eye for excellence when planning out the details, and was invested in our wedding. She went above and beyond her job and was a dream come true for what we could have ever expected for a wedding manager. From the beginning of the planning process we were asked what our vision was. We were then presented with options for dinnerware, table linen, and their chiavari chairs … LOVE :) I can’t emphasize enough how important it was to have The Henry Ford take care of the tables, linen, dinnerware, catering, and details that elsewhere one would have to do on their own or have multiple vendors to deal with. Samantha helped bring our vision of an elegant rose gold wedding to come true! All the decor was perfect! Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the wedding ceremony and reception hall was and about how AMAZING the food was! Guests are still talking to us about how we had the best hors d'oeuvre they have ever had! Samantha and the wait staff were attentive and were all a delight the day of the wedding. They made everyone feel so special the day of our wedding. Lastly, the photo opportunities were endless and stunning! From inside the museum, outside Lovett Hall, and Greenfield Village. You will have the BEST photos hands down! I promise you that you will not be disappointed with choosing The Henry Ford for your wedding day!
I see that literally everyone has left five star reviews for The Henry Ford (THF) so I will just add to the hype and share that the THF team delivered for us on our wedding day in multitudes, and that if we had the opportunity to do it all over again, I'd choose THF a million times. The service that we received, especially in the midst of the pandemic uncertainty, made us feel so much better about the planning process. We worked with Samantha, who is a literal angel and probably (just hazarding a guess) deserves a raise. Something that's wonderful about THF is that they manage many of the variables that in other venues, you may have to do yourself. Think things like bartending, catering, rentals, etc. The wait staff and bartenders were so pleasant to be around on our wedding night, and were resources for my husband and I throughout the evening. They even helped us hide from some family members. Second, the food at THF is incredible. We knew that going into it and we were not disappointed either at the tasting or on the day-of. The chef does a great job - insider tip, go with the short rib. They were a fan favorite. I also loved the dining packages, which were flexible enough that we could make the food what we wanted, but structured enough that the decision-making wasn't overly complicated. Third, THF worked so seamlessly with my wedding planner, florist, entertainment company, etc. and helped us transform the space into something totally gorgeous. It was breathtaking! It was museum meets ballroom vibes and I loved it. If you're like me, and you're from Michigan, and you grew up going to this museum and you're tossing around the idea of what it would be like to get married there - do it. You won't regret it! I know it seems like 5 star reviews are a dime a dozen for this place, and that's well-deserved!
If you're looking for excellence, look no further. The venue speaks for itself, it's absolutely incredible. The service however, truly is in a league of its own.
Through out the planning process we worked with Samantha Saylor, who was prompt, personable, and an incredible resource. We were about 8 weeks away from our May 16th 2020 wedding, when Covid-19 brought everything to a screeching halt. Sam worked with us through what eventually became two postponements and made what could have been an extremely stressful process, fairly easy considering the circumstances. We were so grateful knowing that we had such an incredible team in our corner through a very stressful and uncertain time.
We were finally able to have our wedding on August 6th, 2021 and the day was perfect. All of the Henry Ford staff that we interacted with that day was so friendly and kind to us and our guests. Every detail that Sam and I discussed was taken care of, nothing was left out or forgotten. They even went above and beyond to provide a few surprises throughout the day, including a plate of our passed hors d'oeuvres that was waiting at the head table for my husband and I to enjoy once we were finally seated. We took advantage of renting two Model T's to take us into Greenfield Village for pictures and it was one of our favorite parts of the day. The drivers were friendly, accommodating, and shared fun facts about the village during our ride. I highly recommend doing this if weather and your budget allow. It will make for amazing pictures and memories.
The reception was stunning. Lovett Hall is a beautiful space and our guests were in awe of it. Dinner service went off without a hitch and was the fastest of any wedding i've been to (and we had 150ish guests). Guests are still telling us how delicious all of the food was. We gave our guests a heads up that the bar would be id-ing and had no issues with this. The bar staff even made a point to check members of the bridal party's id's prior to the start of the reception, so that once the reception began they wouldn't have to have their id on them. We had some personal items that were used as decor (picture frames, signs, etc) that the staff put away and had waiting for us on a cart at the end of the night.
Selecting Lovett Hall was the best decision that my husband and I made for our wedding. We are so grateful to the staff at The Henry Ford for making our day beautiful from start to finish.
My wife and I were looking for a LGBTQ+ inclusive venue and The Henry Ford not only met but exceeded all of our expectations and working with the Henry Ford to plan our wedding was a breeze, even during the pandemic. They were organized, professional and communicated what was needed each step of the way. With them handling all of the tableware and linens it streamlined our decision making process and made our reception design process simple. The day of went off without a hitch. The Henry Ford staff was welcoming, professional and attentive. Our guests still rave about “the best wedding ever” as they were never without food or drink and had options for entertainment - check out the historic memorabilia (drink in hand) or hit the dance floor under the plane. The Henry Ford is truly a one of a kind wedding venue that we will get to enjoy with our family for years to come.
So pleased with our experience at THF Museum! Every service was exceptional
The staff here is professional and attentive. I felt like they were always 5 steps ahead of me, which is what you want for your big day! I had my reception at Lovett Hall and Samantha was a dream to work with. She had every detail down perfectly for me, and I felt so at ease day of knowing that everything was going to be beautiful thanks to her. I cannot recommend working with The Henry Ford enough!
I cannot stress how amazing it was to work with HFM, especially with Aileen and Joanne. We booked our venue RIGHT before the pandemic began and with everything up in the air, they were a constant source of assurance and support as they kept us updated/close eye on pandemic restrictions. They went above and beyond with keeping us informed and in the loop. They showed so much kindness and gratitude and made our day extra special. I believe they were just as excited as we were since we were the first wedding of 2021 they also got to experience :) I cannot thank them enough.
Lovett Hall is one of a kind! It has everything you might want for a fairytale wedding. Highlights include: outdoor garden wedding space, main floor cocktail space(rain back-up location), cascading stairs, horse-drawn carriages, late-night ending and spectacular ballroom with original wood floors from the 1930's. Our guests continue to rave about this wedding. July was one of the first post-covid event for Henry Ford and we were happy to find that the Lovett Hall team (coordinator, chef, wait-staff, bar-tenders) served the finest creative, fresh and delicious meal in the most delightful atmosphere. We felt like royalty. Good luck and we hope you find the perfect wedding venue for you.
We just hosted our daughter's wedding at the Henry Ford Museum. It was everything we had hoped for. Samantha, the event coordinator and the entire staff at the Henry Ford did a superb job. We got so many compliments. Everything went smoothly .
Donna and everyone at THF were the absolute BEST people to work with and made our wedding day run smoothly and flawlessly. So many of our family and friends have commented that it was the best wedding that they've ever been to and I cannot express how grateful I am that we were able to host our wedding day at this fantastic and beautiful venue. If you're looking for a beautiful setting with great food, coupled with organization and hospitality, this is the place for you!
I never write reviews but I felt it was necessary to do so in this case.
I spent a year looking for the perfect venue for my wedding. My fiancée and I live in California, but I am originally from Michigan and the majority of my family live in Michigan. We searched for many venues in California but when we entered Henry Ford Lovett Hall, we knew we had found our wedding venue. Lovett Hall is breathtaking, elegant and I envisioned saying I do here. We selected a date, placed our deposit, and started crafting our save the dates and booking vendors.
Suddenly, the world changed and a Global Pandemic hit. As a Doctor in the front lines, I have been watching the implications of this pandemic. When the states enforced the shelter in place I reached out to Henry Ford and expressed my concern that our wedding may need to be postponed. My wedding date was scheduled for October of this year. Initially, I agreed to play it by ear. I was told they had been giving couples 8 weeks prior to their wedding date to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic. So I waited for a couple of months, but when April rolled around, I began to feel very uncomfortable with the situation. I could not plan anything, including flights for tasting and also other events like my shower. I was scheduled to pay my next deposit of over 10k, a large portion of which I would lose based on their payment schedule if we later decided to cancel the date.
At that time, I reached out to Henry Ford and I asked to move the date to 2021. I informed them that I do not feel comfortable having a large gathering this year since we do not know when this pandemic will end and what the new normal will look like. I was worried about the safety of my guests, especially because many of them are elderly. I also told them I did not think it fair to ask my guests to plan to attend my wedding, only to cancel 8 weeks ahead of time, especially when I have guests coming from other parts of the world including myself and fiancée and his family. I also did not want to spend tens of thousands of dollars only to have a large majority of guests cancel.
Henry Ford declined to change our wedding date, stating that they follow CDC's guidelines and recommendations and have been making decisions month to month based on that. Since our wedding date is October and CDC has not yet provided recommendations that far ahead, they cannot honor my request. I was asked to either keep the date or cancel the wedding. Sadly, we decided to cancel the wedding entirely and the perfect day I dreamed of at Lovett Hall is gone.
These are very unique times and I am very disappointed in how Henry Ford handled this situation. I would never have cancelled or postponed my wedding had it not been for what is going on in the world right now. All we asked was to change our wedding date to 2021. I thought they would be more understanding, flexible and compassionate in light of the current global crisis.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue to consider the Henry Ford Museum. Samantha, our coordinator, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was responsive, professional, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. The staff did a wonderful job making everything look beautiful and worked hand-in-hand with our vendors to ensure that everything was taken care of so that we were stress-free and could just enjoy the day (which we did). It was just an incredible experience overall. Thank you to the Henry Ford and especially Thank You to Samantha for making our dream wedding come true!
Very beautiful venue. Cheaper packages to marry in the winter months. No decorations needed
We had our wedding at the Henry Ford’s Lovett Hall. The ceremony was downstairs and our reception was in the ballroom upstairs. It was absolutely everything we could have imagined! We worked with Aileen to plan the details for our wedding and she was very helpful and responsive. We would highly recommend working with Aileen and having your wedding at Lovett Hall! Your guests will love it and you will not regret it!
We booked Lovett Hall because it's absolutely beautiful and we wanted a venue that was more 'turn-key' (i.e. we didn't have to find our own table and chairs and linens, they do all the catering, etc.). What we didn't know when we booked it was that it comes with excellent service, both throughout the wedding process and the day-of. Donna was our coordinator and made us feel like we were the only wedding she had to plan. She was fun to work with and very professional. Pat was our banquet manager and was so kind throughout the wedding and made sure everything ran smoothly (as far as I know everything ran on time and no one had any issues at dinner!). We had a bridesmaid with some severe allergies and they were super accommodating and she felt at ease the whole evening. Our guests have been raving about the wedding and Lovett Hall ever since.
The reason I'm knocking them down one star is because there are some restrictions to be aware of like where you can take photographs, how you can get around Greenfield Village, and what you can/can't bring into the venue. Some of these are because it is a historic venue, but others just give them more control. Additionally, there are fees for pretty much every little upgrade, even for small things like water bottles for the wedding party. Again our wedding was so beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing, but I think these things are important to note.
The staff is amazing. We had our reception in Lovett Hall and took our photos in Greenfield Village (definitely get the historic transportation if you opt for this photo spot.) When choosing between the museum space and Lovett Hall there are pro's and con's to both (even though they are the most incredible event venues in the area) if you have your reception in the museum guests will wander around instead of dancing etc, and in Lovett hall if it rains you cannot take pictures inside the museum if there is another event going on. Overall, the staff is incredible and treated us like a king and queen throughout the whole process. FOOD is amazing, and the drinks were awesome (we did the upgraded bar) 10/10 recommend to every bride
We were married at The Henry Ford Museum a few weeks ago, and the entire experience was amazing! Aileen was fantastic to work with from start to finish - very responsive to my many questions. Our guest raved about the food, and loved the unique venue we picked. A lot was included at The Henry Ford that was an additional cost elsewhere (beautiful ceremony and reception chairs (chiavari), a champagne toast for all guests, cake cutting), which made our decision for us. And the photo op. locations were really cool - especially being able to take a horse carriage into Greenfield Village for photos there! Highly recommend.
We were immediately pulled into the museum by the pictures that we saw online. Shortly after touring the venues at The Henry Ford Museum, we knew it was the one! The staff is beyond friendly, welcoming, & genuinely cares about your overall experience. Aileen (our wedding coordinator at the museum) was always available for questions & would promptly respond with an answer. We meticulously picked vendors who had frequented the museum to ensure a smooth & stress free wedding day. With the added efforts of Aileen & Scott, our wedding day was nothing short of amazing! I would HIGHLY recommend hosting a wedding at The Henry Ford Museum.
We absolutely loved our experience working with The Henry Ford! We had both our ceremony and reception at Lovett Hall and the day was nothing but perfect, and a lot of that perfection can be attributed to the thoughtful and detail-oriented staff. From the moment we walked into the ballroom at Lovett, we knew that we wanted to have our wedding in such an incredible and well-preserved piece of history. We were then paired with our awesome event coordinator Aileen who worked with us throughout our year-long engagement to make sure all of the details of our day were taken care of. She had great advice and used her experience to ensure our wedding was the best it could be. On the day of our wedding, Aileen worked with our vendors to ensure our vision was executed perfectly and our banquet manager Jason was completely on top of all of our guest's needs. I could not have asked for a better team of people to help make our wedding day amazing!
The Henry Ford Museum was the absolute best wedding venue! Not only do they provide linens, chairs, glassware etc, the food and bar selections were AMAZING! our guests kept raving about how much food was at the cocktail hour and the dinner entrees were huge! Two chicken breasts for the pretzel chicken entree! They assign a coordinator who you work with from the start to make your dream wedding come true!
My husband and I had a great experience working with the event staff at Henry Ford. What our "next steps" were clearly communicated from the beginning, and I never had to worry about forgetting something as the event manager would follow up. It was so convenient having the catering/bar taken care of on site. The way the team set everything up for the reception, it was absolutely stunning. The food was amazing. To top it off, the staff made sure to gather the vendor items for us. I would strongly recommend The Henry Ford.
My sister had her wedding at Greenfield Village (the ceremony at the chapel and the reception at the Tavern). It was an incredible day, they were paired with Jaime Smith and she helped to make the whole process so smooth. She was so helpful and we're so grateful for her! The food was so good, the backdrops were lovely. The helped with a ton of the small details and did whatever they could to make the day run smoothly. Every single museum employee we encountered was the most polite and great to chat with. It was such a great experience and highly recommend this venue!
Having our wedding reception at the Henry Ford is something I had dreamed about since I was a little girl. Once I got engaged, and my fiance and I went for a visit, we knew right away this had to be the place! We worked with Jaime-and she was absolutely phenomenal. Jaime worked to make sure that our day could go exactly as we wanted it to. I felt so at ease knowing that she was there to make sure all the details fell in to place. Jaime was incredibly attentive via email and our meetings were always so fun and productive. Jaime had such great ideas to bring the museum to life on our special day. Everyone raved about the food at the wedding-the potatoes are seriously to die for! I would highly recommend The Henry Ford if you're looking for a venue that is unique, elegant, and timeless!
We had our ceremony and reception at The Henry Ford. Our ceremony was in the Anderson Theater and it was such a unique place for a ceremony. Our reception was inside the museum and it was everything we wanted it to be and more. Our event manager, Jaime, was incredible at helping us figure out what we wanted for our day. From food choices to lighting rentals, she helped us with so so much and I don't know what I would have done without her.
Lovett Hall has been my dream wedding venue since I was a young girl - and this January it became a reality! We were paired up with Samantha as our coordinator and she is an absolute gem! She made me feel like the most important bride she was working with and made all of the things we were hoping for a reality! She is honestly one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and made the wedding planning process so much less stressful. Everyone at Lovett Hall was so kind and accommodating the day of the wedding which made the nerves go away on more than one occasion. The food is AMAZING, not just your standard wedding banquet food and the additional options for appetizers/dessert were so fun and unique! If you love a beautiful, historical venue and think that's what you want for your wedding, I HIGHLY recommend Lovett Hall at the Henry Ford!!!)
Our wedding was at Greenfield Village (ceremony at the Martha Mary chapel and reception at the Eagle Tavern) Everything was so perfect! The venues are beautiful historic buildings that provide and amazing backdrop for photos. The food was great, the staff was so accommodating, and guest raved about the space! Loved this venue, and Jaime (Henry Ford event coordinator) really helped to make our dream day a reality.
Five Stars to the Henry Ford...perfect!! My daughter's wedding reception was at Henry Ford Museum this past weekend, and I could not speak more highly how every detail was handled. The staff was outstanding, especially Jamie Smith, our Event Planner at the Henry Ford. She helped us right from the start through to the day of the wedding. Jamie offered suggestions I would have never thought of that made the day even more special. The food and appetizers were delicious and the serving staff outstanding as well. The staff worked very well with our flower, cake, and DJ vendors. One last comment, the museum was the perfect venue to host the reception, its beautiful on its own and with the lights over the dining tables it was over the top gorgeous...plus this time of year, we had the Christmas Tree as a backdrop....our guests were thrilled to tour the museum after dinner.
After having the most amazing and perfect Fairy tale wedding at The Henry Ford - Lovett Hall, I cannot thank the team and staff enough for helping make my day perfect. A very special shout out to Donna VanLandschoot who was the event manager and now my friend. She made sure that everything was the way I wanted and was always available for me to answer any questions and help with everything I needed. She truly was a godsend through this entire experience and I will forever be grateful for all she did during this special time in our lives.
This is the absolute best wedding venue in Michigan. No contest. Best atmosphere, best food, best people to work with, best experience.
My husband and I had our ceremony at the Martha Mary Chapel and reception at the Eagle Tavern in Greenfield Village. We had the most magical day and did not have to worry about a single thing. The whole planning process with the Henry Ford Team was a breeze. They made planning our special day very easy and stress free. Jaime Smith was lovely to work with during this process. The day of the event was PERFECT. The Henry Ford staff provided the best service I have ever experienced in my life. They were super responsive and went above and beyond to take care of the guests and wedding party. Linda, our event coordinator for the day of the event, was a such a pleasure to work with. The food was hands down the best food I have ever had. The guests were amazed at how beautiful and well everything tasted. Chief Dave was so kind and created a very special day for my husband and I. The Henry Ford is the most magical and amazing place to get married. I am so happy and grateful! I love the Henry Ford! I could go on for days ranting and raving about this place. Thank you for everything.
We had our ceremony and reception at Lovett Hall on 10/6/18. First, what we loved:
- obviously Lovett Hall is a gorgeous setting for a wedding
- our event manager Jaime was accommodating, professional, and courteous
- ability to have ceremony/reception within steps of each other
- food was delicious
- fun Model T ride through Greenfield Village for photos
What we hated and why we would not recommend The Henry Ford to others:
- our ceremony representative seemed judgmental of our non-traditional ceremony ("That's weird")
- we had planned our first look in the museum, with the approval of our event manager, and when we were taking photos for our first look, we were made to leave by museum staff because apparently we did not have proper approval (I spoke to our event manager later that day and she stated it was a miscommunication... but it still disrupted our photos)
- when returning from our Model T ride, there was no one at the gate to open it for us at the allotted time, which meant we had to sit around for 10 minutes while our driver tried to contact someone. This disrupted an obviously already tight pre-ceremony photo schedule
- and lastly, the worst -- rude bar staff and banquet manager (which I saw mentioned in another review here as well). They were strict about carding, which I understand, but they were accusatory and rude to many. Especially Scott, the banquet manager, would follow people onto the dance floor to ask for IDs and take drinks away if they didn't have them (even if they had already been served by a bartender) and made rude comments to a few of our guests. Many people left with a sour taste in their mouth. Finally, they closed the bar 30 minutes sooner than what we had paid for without explanation. After the fact, our event manager apologized & refunded us the money for that time, but I would rather have had a positive experience than any amount of money.
Would not recommend.
Beautiful venue, the event coordinator was great help with all our requests . Great experience
I can’t imagine a more beautiful place to get married... so I love that I was lucky enough to have my wedding here. The ballroom in Lovett Hall is absolutely breathtaking. The food was unbelievably delicious (Seriously, I wish their chefs would open a restaurant so I could eat those meals every day). And the relationship with our event manager, Samantha Saylor, was what dreams are made of. She constantly calmed our chaos and accommodated everything we wanted/needed. I just can’t say enough good things about The Henry Ford, because our entire wedding weekend still has me speechless. Every moment was magical, and that was possible because of this team, their venues and their menus.
We had our wedding at Martha Mary Chapel and our reception at The Eagle Tavern. Everyone at the Henry Ford was incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was just the way we wanted and that we did not have anything to worry about. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and really enjoyed it. The servers at the reception were very attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic. Everyone loved the carriage rides and the drivers. We really enjoyed planning the wedding with Jamie. Linda and Don were amazing on our wedding day making sure everything ran smooth and we enjoyed the day. I would definitely recommend having a wedding at The Henry Ford!
We had our reception at the Eagle Tavern with a Carousel Cocktail hour. Everything was amazing and it was planned so well. I was really happy at how friendly and accommodating the staff was on the day of the event. And working with Aileen was a pleasure. She was very helpful and was on top of everything for us. We had the historic menu for the dinner and that was delicious as well. It's a really special place and the Henry Ford pulls it off beautifully!
The Henry Ford provided the most elegant and organized venue for the wedding reception we held for our daughter and son-in-law. Our coordinator, Samantha, answered all of our questions and phone calls immediately from beginning to end. The Henry Ford went above and beyond what we had planned. The food and ser
