About this vendor
A lakefront retreat with quite the story to tell, The Hideaway at Xanadu Island Resort offers a picturesque setting to reconnect, relax, and celebrate your wedding day in Battle Lake, MN. Nestled on the utterly private Xanadu Island, The Hideaway has been welcoming guests since 1920, with everyone from socialites to former US presidents having embraced the island way of life. Current owners Nicole and Jay Reinan are proud to continue the legacy of this incredible property, a place that is truly the stuff of Minnesota legend.
All four acres of land and grounds at The Hideaway are a tribute to tradition and all things old-fashioned. From the weathered pathways to the rustic meets retro ambiance, everyone can see just how well-loved The Hideaway has been throughout the centuries. When you host your special day at this venue, you will enjoy exclusive access to every inch of the island for total privacy and seclusion. Your ceremony will take place overlooking the lake, with nature providing the perfect backdrop. Afterward, you'll retire to the climate-controlled barn for an evening of dining, dancing, and making memories. The barn can accommodate up to 60 guests for a seated meal, ideal if you envision sharing your special day with your closest friends and family. As your guests explore the property, they'll come upon the Historic Lake House and Cabins, their accommodation for the duration of your festivities!
The Hideaway at Xanadu Island Resort is available for one-day, two-day, or seven-day rental, so you can enjoy a wedding week or weekend, not just a wedding day! Nicole, Jay, and their team will encourage you and your loved ones to embrace lakefront life during your time on the island. Be prepared to spend lots of time outdoors kayaking, canoeing, or just relaxing by the firepit! If you require assistance with planning your special day, there is no need to worry, as on-site event planning and coordination services are available for an extra cost. Nicole and Jay can also help you connect with local vendors who can transform the Hideaway into the rustic wedding venue of your dreams.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Perfect Place for Our Wedding! ❤️🍂
Where do we even begin?! We rented the entire island at The Hideaway at Xanadu Island for our wedding, and it was truly everything we...
could have ever dreamed of!
The island is absolutely beautiful, and the gorgeous fall colors made it even more breathtaking. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting to celebrate one of the most important days of our lives!
One of our favorite parts was being able to have our entire bridal party stay right on the island with us in their own cabins. Having everyone together made the whole experience so much more special. From the beautiful scenery to the time spent with our favorite people, it was a weekend filled with memories we will cherish forever.
We cannot thank Nicole, Ashley, and Carrie enough! We are so incredibly grateful for everything and couldn’t be happier with our experience.
Xanadu Island will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was everything we wanted and so much more. We truly couldn’t have imagined celebrating our wedding anywhere else!
We hope to be back someday, and we would recommend this beautiful place to anyone! ❤️🍁

owded. Our island staff/coordinator for the weekend was Mary, and we could not have done it without her. She was so positive and helpful, and kept checking to make sure we had everything we needed. We can't wait to come back for an anniversary in a few years to make time to enjoy everything the island has to offer! Thank you!

The Xanadu was absolutely gorgeous and I love that the lodging allowed our loved ones to be close to us. We booked the resort for the full week. This allowed us to relax after the wedding and provided a space for our families to get to know each other. We all swam in the water, had family dinners at the dining table in the main house, and had daily bonfires.
We had our wedding outside and then held the reception in the barn. All of our guests were blown away by the beauty of the Xanadu.
I would 100% reccomend this venue to any newlyweds who are looking. It is a great cost, very accommodating, absolutely romantic, and a great venue to make memories at.

ding! We highly recommend The Hideaway at Xanadu Island!
Beautiful Venue! We spent a week in early September, and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely historic lodge, which has been carefully updated so that the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen...
are comfortable and convenient, while keeping the charm of the original building. We used the Barn for a rehearsal dinner and Sunday morning brunch (before and after the wedding) and it was just the right atmosphere for our group of 60 (the max # for the space). Nicole and Molly were great to work with. I hope we can come back someday!
