The Historic Hill House and Farm

THIS is the place you want to get married! Mike, Sara, Frankie, Chef Chase ,Lacey and ALL the staff are beyond words to start. They truly make you feel like family! You get a personal touch with the food as Chef Chase sits down and handcrafts a menu with you (if you choose to use them for food-which you should, because it is incredible). They will bend over backward to meet the needs of you and your guests in all aspects. I haven't even gotten to the property! Completely unique and stunning! There are plenty of rooms on site for a good chunk of family and friends to stay, which is a nice perk. Each building on the property is unique-some very old, some very new. You can choose to get the entire place for the entire weekend with all meals included, which was very nice for us as my husband's family is from out of state, and this was a great way to spend time with them. Our wedding came together perfectly! Hill House really made our dream come to life. We will be forvever grateful, and we will continue to come back to stay, eat, and attend events for years to come!

Where do I begin. I first laid eyes on Historic Hill House, in search of a venue for my wedding, in July. The barn was merely a skeleton of a structure and I had already fallen in love. I met with Michael Bradbury and his enthusiasm and vision were all I needed to know that this was the spot. As the structure began to go up, I almost told him he needed to redo the rendering because it quickly became clear that the actual building was going to surpass what was originally drawn. I anxiously awaited them to find their chef. And was excited to see what gem Mike would find to add to the team. Nothing could have prepared me for the creative flair, expertise and likeability of Chef Josh Slaughter. What the designer of Historic Hill House created and assembled in and around the barn, the new to the property chef, cultivates and compliments with his unique and delicious culinary science. Our wedding was everything I dreamed, imagined and more. We had a destination wedding feel, allowing us more time with our out of town family members and I was proud to have those near and dear to me stay in the Hill house cabins and experience everything Hill House Had to offer (Except the pool. It was February after all). The ballroom of the barn is AMAZING. As I get back photos from the wedding, every. single. one. had a beautiful back drop. Inside out and, Historic Hill House is exceptional, extraordinary and just plain gorgeous. The rooms are five star plus. The individual amenities in the rooms are both thoughtful and delicious (a plank with olives, cheese, crackers, fruit and cookies and a smores kit for their fire pit!). Jodie Domengeaux Schrier is a doll and very personable. She will have no trouble booking up Hill House as a destination venue for not only weddings but corporate retreats, reunions, galas and any other large gathering. My only suggestion is for potential clients. Hurry up and book or you may miss your chance. This place is going to be busy .
