The Hotel Zamora

I’ll start off with the hotel info before getting into the wedding details. The hotel rooms are nice; I know they’re in the middle of a remodel so we saw both the old design and the new. Both are very nice and clean. We stayed a total of 4 nights and did not have maid service a single time. I had to call the desk and ask for them to send someone to swap out our towels and collect trash. Our phone in the room did not work so every time we needed to call the desk, we had to use our personal phones and work our way through the automated system and hopefully get connected to the right person every time. Supposedly, this was the case for every phone in the hotel. The bar and restaurant are very nice, the food and drinks are great, and the staff is friendly. The valet team are absolute delights and are very helpful. One month before our wedding, our original point of contact we had been working with for a year, left the hotel. We were told that management would not let her inform any of her clients ahead of time so we found out at the end of her last day via email. Her replacements I’m sure are very capable but the strain of having to catch up on a year’s worth of work in less than one month was just an added stress for me. There were things that were missed and fell through the cracks because of this—my planner luckily caught them all in time and was handled last-minute thanks to her. The venue of the rooftop area is beautiful. Stunning views of the gulf and surrounding waterways. The set-up and floor plan is customizable for your needs, which I appreciated. We had beautiful weather, thankfully, as the “rainy day” back-up space is beyond underwhelming—a gamble we were willing to take. One of the last-minute items that was missed was our dance floor. If you do not rent a dance floor through a third-party, it's an additional $500 just to have the dance floor. Luckily, our planner brought this to my attention the week of and we just went with it considering the time constraint. Our wedding meal was from the plated menu, you get two options. Everyone was served on time and the food was good and hot. The main bartender we had, Franck, was fabulous and everyone absolutely loved him. Franck was the one person from the hotel that made me feel special and treated us all with such kindness. Before our original contact left, she told us that the hotel bar was going to close at midnight instead of 10pm but after she left, we were told this was not the case anymore. We had already told our guests that we would go to the hotel bar 10pm-12am for a nightcap and the hotel manager kept the bar open for us, which I appreciated very much so we did not have to change any plans for 100 people. If you expect to receive any sort of special treatment for being the bride, this is not the place. Our wedding was during Spring Break and on Easter Weekend, and I felt as though I was an inconvenience to everyone when I needed something or had a question. The Spring Breakers and Easter Brunch definitely took precedence over the wedding party & wedding guests. Hotel Zamora also does not do room blocks for weddings. All guests are on their own with booking their room with a supplied discount code that did not work for anyone. Overall, our wedding was great but the experience was lackluster. I’m glad we did it but I’m not sure I would let the stunning views distract me from the actual operations if I were to do it over again.

We used The Hotel Zamora for our November 2023 wedding and had an unforgettable experience. It was truly the best night of our lives and so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they’d ever been to! The hotel is beautiful, and the 360 Rooftop views speak for themselves, but what really made our experience so wonderful was the staff. We mostly worked with the event manager Carly Davis who is a GEM!! She has the best energy, was so easy to work with, was great about answering my millions of questions, and really made us feel that she had everything under control. At one point during the dinner service there was an issue with the service elevator, and Carly rallied the kitchen staff to hand carry all the food up the stairs from the kitchen to the rooftop. Neither myself, my husband, or any of our guests knew there was an issue because the staff handled it so quickly and expertly. It was that level of service that really blew us away! Our guests also raved about the food. My uncle, who’s traveled the world, said it was the best steak he’s ever had. Overall, we would absolutely recommend The Hotel Zamora and can’t wait to come back to visit for our anniversary! Thank you to all who helped make our wedding a dream come true.

We loved our wedding at Hotel Zamora! The venue where we had our ceremony/reception (rooftop) is truly spectacular and every detail was set up exactly how we had specified and wanted. Their event coordinator (Carly) was amazing, very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. The food was incredible and we received MANY compliments that it was the best wedding meal they’ve ever had and the most beautiful venue. Any issues we experienced were not related to the wedding itself (ceremony/reception) so not reflected in my review. There were some complaints about customer service at the front desk from our guests staying at the hotel. Some of the staff were kind & polite but a few came across pretty rude. There was also confusion around the room block in general. It seemed like unless people called and spoke directly to the manager responsible for group reservations, that guests couldn’t get customer service to honor the rate and dates agreed upon in our contract. Guests had to call multiple times to accomplish booking. The manager we negotiated with though does not work for the hotel anymore. The current was much more responsive & helpful.

We had our wedding celebration here in Oct. and it could not have been a more enjoyable process. Carly was phenomenal. She was knowledgable, communicative and beyond sweet! The value for the wedding package is pretty unmatched. The rooftop is gorgeous, and so is the ballroom. The hotel is nice, well equipped and in a fantastic location for guests. Everyone raved about how great the food was and the service staff was impeccable. The bartenders and servers were on top of everything and we never had to worry that guests were waiting for food or drinks. You won't regret using this space for your special day!
