The Huguenot Loft at The Peace Center is a historic wedding venue located in Greenville, SC. As soon as you enter the space, it's clear it has its own unique, elegant charm.
One of Greenville's oldest buildings, the Huguenot Mill, was constructed in 1882 and is a former working textile mill. The 8,400 square-foot Huguenot Loft, which is part of the Huguenot Mill's upper level, has hardwood floors and views of the Reedy River. A converted upstairs space, the original wood plank flooring, beam ceiling, exposed brick, and vintage architectural hardware provide the feel of a SoHo artist loft. This adaptable space can accommodate up to 400 guests and work with any theme you choose. It makes a wonderful backdrop for your special day with its open layout and all the natural light that enters via the historic mill windows.
The Huguenot Loft at The Peace Center offers both a prep space for your caterer and an in-house bar with staff and equipment. To make your wedding day stand out, The Loft will take care of your audio-visual needs and can even supply bespoke lighting. They also offer a selection of event rentals, like chairs, tables, and linens. You and your guests also have easy access to numerous public and private parking lots within a three-mile radius. The Huguenot Loft was a perfect venue for our wedding! The natural light was beautiful. I will say it is NOT an all inclusive venue like some we looked at booking. You are charged for just about everything. I understand this is typical of high end wedding venues like this, however be prepared for this when budgeting for your big day. The biggest perk is they have a calendar of availability online so you can see if your desired date is available.
Lastly, plan on having your rehearsal NOT at the Loft. You cannot book it until closer to your event date. Overall, Bethany & her team were on top of things all day and helped us have more than a smooth experience.
This location is beautiful and convenient. The only thing I didn’t love is that EVERYTHING has a fee and there are lots of rules. You can’t have sparklers for an exit or candles down the aisle, there are rules on what you can get from vendors, like you can get chairs from vendors but not your stage, little rules like that allll the time. The experience working with them feels very corporate and not boutique or celebratory.. it’s as if you are planning just a random Large scale, expensive event... not like they are trying to thank you for choosing them to celebrate your happiest day or make you feel special that it’s your wedding. So while the event space is wonderful, the experience of working with them is just corporate and fine.
Love this venue! My husband and I had our reception here and loved every minute of it! The brick, hardwoods and entire feel of the venue fit us perfectly, plus you cannot beat the downtown location of the river. So many of our out of town guests are already planning their next trip to Greenville! Convenient location across from the Marriott where we booked rooms. One small problem we had was we booked our day at the Loft 2 years in advanced and thank goodness we did because other couples were already inquiring about our date, but some of the staff got switched around and they never let us know and no one new every reached out to us when we got to a year out so it was a little confusing for a while. Other than that everything was wonderful. We even had very unexpected rain right before our cocktail hour started and they let us start everything early because some guests were stuck outside in the down pour.
You have to book all beverages through the Peace Center but we had no problem with that because the pricing was very competitive and our drinks were fabulous. They also do a great job of helping you figure out your floor plan and even go through PPR to rent all of your tables, chairs, etc. One thing to keep in mind though is the cost to rent is JUST to rent, so rentals, lighting, outside caterer, bar, decor are all in addition. But we couldn't imagine celebrating anywhere else and we are SO happy we did! night we will never forget!

The loft was the ideal venue for our wedding in February 2014. Shelley Keim, Peace Center Events Coordinator was a joy to work with and made me feel like I was her only client. Bar pricing in 2013 was very fair and I think equipment rentals will only get easier as the Peace Center ramps up their inventory. I would recommend this wedding venue to any Greenville Brides looking to totally transform a space to make it their own while still holding onto that historic value. We held both our ceremony and reception at the loft.
AMAZING venue! Perfect backdrop for every bride to make her wedding unique! Plenty of space for seated dinner, buffet, dance floor, band, etc.
Just keep in mind, you're renting an empty space! All of the additional costs and rental fees add up FAST!
The Huguenot Loft is an absolutely stunning wedding venue! It is perfectly located in the heart of downtown Greenville within walking distance of all the amazing restaurants, fun bars and hotels. With its beautiful brick walls, exposed wood beams, hardwood floors and massive windows it's the perfect place to hold a wedding reception. Additionally, the service is outstanding and Carrie is a pleasure to work with. We LOVED having our reception here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married in the Greenville area!
We absolutely loved our reception at the Loft. Carrie and Shelley, the staff there, were so helpful throughout the planning process, and I really valued their input. The building and reception space were well taken care of, and the day-of staff was helpful. We got a ton of compliments from our guests on what a perfect space we had chosen. I would highly recommend it!
Carrie & Shelley at the Huguenot Mill Loft were a JOY to work with during the planing of our wedding! They were very helpful throughout the whole process, and were very prompt in returning calls/emails. The venue itself is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! We loved having the ceremony area and the reception area under the same roof, made the party start earlier than if it had been at another location! The brick walls and wood floors provided a really warm and cozy, romantic atmosphere. We have gotten a lot of compliments on how perfect our venue was... and I have to agree! Everything was wonderful! :)
The Loft was absolutely perfect for the wedding! It was a beautiful open floorplan which made all the different aspects of the wedding flow together! Not much decoration needed as well, because the loft in itself is stunning!
The Huguenot Loft is a beautiful facility located in Downtown Greenville. There are two rooms and a downstairs 'Mill' area. The exposed brick walls and beautiful hardwood floors made a beautiful backdrop for my wedding reception. We used a mixture of round tables, cocktail tables, and had a dance floor for approximately 450 guests. It was the perfect venue. I would highly recommend going to see it and consider it for your wedding.
