We ordered both a small cake and several flavors of cupcakes for our wedding and everyone was excited to find a flavor that they loved. Everything tasted wonderful and they looked absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

Despite a change in ownership from the time we made the deposit until the time we picked our flavors, the Icing company was great to work with. Our cupcake bundle was so convienient and allowed such a variety while still looking cohesive. All of our guests loved the flavors and the look of the cake. The tier cake was delicious with coconut cake, cocount frosting and mouse. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious and elegant way to display cup cakes and still have a cake cutting ceremony.

I was very dissatisfied with my wedding cake as well as my brides cake. I specifically requested no fondant on my wedding cake I dislike the taste of it and I had it on my wedding cake . The fondant that was on my wedding cake wasn’t even smooth it was completely uneven and I am very dissatisfied. Everyone noticed it I was so embarrassed. My brides cake wasnt what I requested at all

Beautiful work and DELICIOUS cake! We got so many compliments on the look and flavors of the cake, and referred a few local friends to the bakery location. A few others asked if they could have any left over cake we had because it was so good. The bakery delievered on time, was able to accommodate another request of ours, and left us a small gift in addition to the glorious wedding cake we commissioned from them. We will be going back often for their cupcakes.

I had my dream cake all planned out, plum purple and silver. I called the icing to plan my cake, sent them a picture and told them colors. I got a call saying they would be closed for the weekend due to the hurricane so I had to pick up my cake by Wednesday which I was ok with. Went to pick it up after a very stressful day of my uncle's flight being cancelled and he was the one that was gonna walk me down the aisle. So went to go pick up my cake and it is bright red instead of purple ribbon. I just cried they said they tried making it the closest color they could to the picture? Bright red not purple! So they say we can try to change it to the correct color. They search for it couldn't find it and made the color out of fondant. Tell me to pick it up the next day. Well they agreed to deliver it for me due to the inconvience. On my wedding day it gets delivered and it's slanted and the diamond ring around the cake is falling off and there's a gap from it not being onto the cake all the way. I was so upset it's looking like it's falling sideways and all the mess of a cake. I finally get to speak to a manager which her associate tells her that it was slanted and the rhinestones looked off. And she tells me sorry on Thursday you said as long as the color changed I liked it. Wrong poor quality for the money spent and poor customer service. Very unsatisfied with the outcome. I wanted the chance to speak with the "new" owner and wow I was amazed on how she handled the situation so poorly.

The ruined my wedding cake, it was nothing like I ordered or paid for. The biggest disappointment on my wedding day.

0.5 My son an daughter-in-law ordered their cake for their july wedding back in December. My daughter-in-law specifically asked for buttercream and no fondant. Over several months they tried contacting the shop for questions and to make minor changes. They were told multiple times their contract couldn't be found and they weren't in the computer. Whe they asked to speak to the owners, they were always out or on vacation. When the cake arrived on the wedding day it was covered in a thick layers of fondant. Even though it made a pretty cake, it is not what they ordered. They also ordered a lemon cake, and it was a vanilla cake with a "lemon" filling that had no lemon taste. The cake was dry as if it was made a week before. When they complained on their Facebook page, someone from the shop said they don't do buttercream in the summer, although that was nowhere in the contract. In would stay very far away from this bakery.

We chose from the Simple Elegance options at The Icing and just chose colors, flavors, and number of servings. It was so easy, and our cake was beautiful and delicious!

My husband and I absolutely loved our wedding cake from The Icing Bakery in Stafford. They made us a delicious, custom, 3 tiered cake. Scheduling our cake tasting was easy and we set up a date that worked for the both of us. At our tasting we were presented with several cake flavors and icing flavors. Shannon expertly led us through many combinations until we found the perfect one. After that, we talked about the design of our cake. It’s helpful if you have some ideas of what you are looking for, so bring your iPad and Pinterest to show them. We left the bakery with a handmade sketch of our cake and secured a date. When we saw the cake on our wedding day we were absolutely thrilled with how well the cake looked–exactly detailed to the sketch. When the cake was served, our guests kept coming up to us and telling us how wonderful the cake tasted and that it was incredibly moist. We were proud to tell them that we had ordered it from The Icing Bakery. They also make tasty cupcakes if you want something small and sweet while driving down RT610. TIP: We ordered a custom cake topper off Etsy and had it shipped to the bakery ahead of time to be used as our cake topper. Will definitely use them again for other events!

Um, YUM! We first found the icing at the bridal show in Fredericksburg, and they blew every other sample we tried out of the park. They were the only baker we contacted, and going for our sample tasting was so much fun, and they did a great job designing our dream cake with us. It was DELICIOUS. We had the citrus blossom combination, which is what we first tried at the bridal show. Everyone told us it was the best wedding cake they've had. And we loved it, even though for me, most of it was up my nose. Another reason we chose The Icing was because it was unique that they offer a set of honeymoon cupcakes, AND a certificate for an anniversary cake, so you don't have to freeze your wedding cake. So great! On the wedding day, the delivery and set up went just fine, and I was so excited when I came out and saw it!

They were awesome to work with the cake tasting and the entire process. They delivered our cake and cupcakes well before their scheduled time. LOTS of options to choose from as far as cake and icing flavors and honestly they are all delicious!

The Icing designed the perfect cake for our daughter's wedding! We went in for a cake tasting and worked with the designer there to make the cake that our daughter wanted! We ended up with a small wedding cake for the bride & groom to cut and then did kitchen cakes of the flavors we chose since we wanted buttercream icing and it was an outside wedding in August! The cakes turned out great and were just what we wanted! Their signature grapefruit cake is awesome!

The grapefruit cake is to die for!! Delicious cake and cupcakes!!! My guests couldn't stop talking about the dessert!!! Highly recommend!!!!

The Icing did an exceptional job on our wedding cake! My family has used the Icing at other events and they always delivered delicious cakes and creative designs and they are our go-to event cakes! We met with the Icing just once and gave our vision of our cake and did a tasting (best part ever). We ended up choosing the white chocolate raspberry truffle and it was as always so delicious. All of our guests loved the cake. The best part for me was the fact that all I described to them during our meeting was that we were using a lot of greenery in our reception theme. The baker knew exactly what to do. She created these gorgeous succulents and berries and greenery out of fondant on our cake. It matched PERFECTLY with our theme and looked so real. It was absolutely incredible. The Icing delivers every single time!

The Icing Cakes in Stafford is a small business. It's baking is definitely better than their business sense. I was very impressed with my first meeting with them, our tasting went well and I was pleased with the suggestions from the lead baker. I did not place my deposit on that first meeting as I like to think things over and that ended up being a disaster. It took me over a week to get a response from the bakery after calling and emailing to try and book them once I had made a decision. After calling again I was told that the one person who checks the emails has been out all week and that is why I didn't get a response. The woman who told me this was rude and talked to me as though I was beingtoo pushy. Once I finally got a contract it wasn't very detailed. I am custom to a contract that states exactly what I am ordering so when it says "6" next to cannolis, I am under the impression I am ordering 6, though when I asked for clarification from a staff member I was told it meant "6 dozen" and it seemed a big hassle for them to write out 6 dozen. Every interaction with them after that became more difficult.I would either not get a response or half a response and would have to respond again to get all of my questions answered. If I had to do this again, I would have picked a different bakery. Their cupcakes and cookies were not worth the drama of trying to communicate with them.

Our wedding cake was everything we could have imagined and more! I must admit after choosing the couture option I have a few wedding nightmares. Not only did the cake taste amazing but it looked spectacular and fit our theme perfectly!

Delicious and beautiful cake! The tasting was fun and well designed to highlight the breadth of flavor combinations possible with The Icing. We opted for the Couture cake option, which means we gave general thoughts on what we wanted the cake to look like and left it in their very capable hands. The end result was beautiful, creative, delicious, and stress-free. There was some slight confusion with finalizing the order and making payment online, mostly because I was planning from out of the state, but once I was speaking with someone on the phone, everything was smooth sailing.

Contacted The Icing to set-up a tasting. My sister had used them for her wedding a year earlier and I was excited to have the same product. We had no issue setting up an appointment, tasting, and describing our dream cake. The result was exactly what we expected and all of our guests kept commenting on how great the cake tasted and was displayed. Thank you!

The cake was absolutely delicious! I got my stand deposit back in a reasonable amount of time, and everything was perfect except for the additional decoration I asked to have on my cake. It didn't come out as I expected. It looked like a rush job but no one saw it aside from my husband really. Would suggest no special decorating and stick to flowers.

My husband and I got our wedding cake from The Icing last year we loved working with them. We did one of their cupcake and cake packages and it was perfect for us because we could decide on just one or two flavors. Working with them was great from the tasting before the wedding to returning the cake stand after the wedding.

We originally ordered one of the Icing's couture cakes, where we let them choose the design based on inspiration pictures we sent them, but had to downgrade as many of our invited guests were unable to make it. The cake we ended up getting was incredibly beautiful, and I couldn't have done it more perfectly if we'd walked through every detail. It was also completely delicious. The one thing I have to knock them on is communication. Emails would get answered weeks later and sometimes if I asked 2 questions I'd get back 1 answer and have to wait for a response again. There was also an issue with whether the cake would be delivered or not at the last minute which we fortunately got straightened out, but caused a minor panic. Overall a fantastic product, but make sure you get all your questions answered early!

My cake was everything I ever wanted for my wedding. I showed a picture of a cake I wanted off of pinterest and The Icing created it and it was way better than the picture. We asked for some creative touches of spiderman poking out of the bottom of the cake as a surprise for my husband and it looked amazing. I am so pleased with Icing. They were professional and created the cake of my dreams. And did I mention it was DELICIOUS !

My husband and I LOVED our cake from the icing. They personalized it to how we specified and the flow it's we're out of this world! (We got spice cake and pink champagne) they arrived on time and we're professional the whole way through. Would definitely recommend.

We chose to have one of their couture cakes created for our wedding, couture cakes allow for their artists to use their own creative ideas to create a cake they believe their clients will love. It was so exciting to see the cake on our wedding day as we entered the reception. It was beautiful! Not only was the cake tall and breathtaking, it was absolutely the most delicious cake I had ever tasted! Thank you to the cake artists at the Icing! Also, they give you a certificate for a small cake for your 1st anniversary! No freezing and eating a year old cake, how sweet of them :)

We tried dozens of bakeries in the area and the The Icing was the only cake that actually tasted good! The cake is moist; the frosting and fondant are tasty without being sickly sweet; and the design options are gorgeous. The Icing also has options that are affordable and they offered us free delivery and set-up to our local venue. Best of all, on our wedding night we were given a certificate for a complimentary cake for our one-year anniversary. No need to save our cake topper in a freezer for a year! I was extremely impressed with the quality of the product The Icing created and with the professionalism of their service. I plan to get all my special occasion cakes from them in the future.

I always say that the one part of my wedding that was absolutely perfect was my cake!! Not only was it delicious and fresh, but the finished product and presentation of my cake was EXACTLY what I envisioned. The staff at The Icing took great care to listen to what we wanted our wedding cake to look like and taste like, and they more than delivered. I originally discovered The Icing at the Fredericksburg Wedding Expo. I had tried all the vendors cakes, but once I tried The Icing's samples I was hooked. I just didn't want my cake to look great...I wanted it to taste great too! When I set up a tasting I thought we'd get to taste a few options. I was surprised to find out how many flavors they offer. The hardest part was choosing which two flavors were our favorite! We had two tiers, so we choose the Boston Creme Pie and Pink Champagne. It's been over a year since we got married and people still tell me how great my cake was...and of course, our wedding! They also offer to make an anniversary cake on your one year, so you don't have to eat stale, frozen cake. By far the best bakery in town!

We use this Bakery for every special occasion!!! We ordered a little topper and 8 dozen cupcakes with 4 different flavors. Super fresh and yummy! We took our cake on our honeymoon and enjoyed it for 5 days. Can't wait for the next cake needed.

We purchased our cutting cake from The Icing in Stafford, VA. We chose a vanilla cake with cookies and cream icing. It was delicious! I have purchased cupcakes from them previously and knew they were the best place to get my wedding cake from. The cake was decorated exactly how we asked. We couldn't have been more pleased!

I went to The Icing Baking Co. for a tasting, which they charge $25 for fyi, and never heard from them again! After multiple emails, there still has been no response. You can definitely get a better vendor for your wedding cake that is closer and more professional. Stay away!

Then get your wedding cake form The Icing! We fell in love with The Icing's cakes when my in-laws got our engagement party cake from them. Their cakes are always delicious, whether it's a cupcake, birthday cake or wedding cake. For my husband and I, it was more important that we have a delicious tasting cake than a show stopper wedding cake. But that's not to say their cakes aren't gorgeous. Our wedding cake turned out exactly how I had envisioned it and got so many compliments on not only how good it was but how pretty it was as well. The staff was very pleasant to work with and made the whole experience stress free. I had no worries that our cake would not be there on time or that it wouldn't be delicious. We ended up choosing the flavors turtle and Boston creme. Both were crowd pleasers. We probably could have found a different place to do our cake for cheaper, but we decided to go with The Icing because we knew we could get the best tasting cake and the quality of service we wanted from the Icing.

The Icing Baking Company did our cake/ cup cakes for our wedding. I was extremely pleased with the friendly staff and all the wonderful flavors they offered, to include new flavors for the seasons, which was great for a fall wedding. Our cake was perfect and the cup cake designs were flattering to the cake. Everything was delicious!! I would highly recommend them for any occassion.

The most memorable day was topped off with a memorable cake from The Icing! The bakery delivered a beautiful cake to my reception and I received a multitude of compliments. The cake was delicious and I had several flavors incorporated with each layer. I look forward to our anniversary to enjoy the top layer of the cake for another memorable moment! I used the Icing for my wedding cake in September and I couldn't have been happier! The designer worked with me and came up with a unique design for me. The cake was delivered and set up the day of - there must have been a lot of coordination with the caterer, because everything was just perfect. I didn't have to be involved with that at all! And when the cake was served, perfection! It was yummy and moist and just wonderful. I didn't have much leftover since everyone was taking extra pieces!

I learned about The Icing at a bridal show, when I tried a sample of their Citrus Blossom and Creme Brulee cake. Love at first bite! Not to mention that that they use organic ingredients, a huge plus. Their service was spectacular. They were incredibly patient and helpful through all stages of the process, from the consultation to the big day! I cannot overstate how delicious their cake is. The Icing made a delicious cake for our wedding (3 tiers - Alternating Pink Champagne and Choc Raspberry Truffle) and also various pies. We were married at a rustic equestrian farm in Remington, Va and thought pies would be more fitting than a large cake or cupcakes for our overall theme. Both desserts were a hit so much so that that people were coming back for seconds!! :) Thanks to The Icing for creating a beautiful cake and classic homemade pies that fit right in with our wedding. I used The Icing for my wedding , it was a great experience. They help you through your designs and make it happen. I actually did cupcakes for my wedding and they turned out so amazing! The price was fair with many flavors and options to choose from! I would use them for any event in the future I may have, you won't go wrong using them!

I got married at a venue in Stafford, VA. The owner of the venue suggested I go by The Icing and try one of their cupcakes. It was AMAZING. Right there, I knew The Icing would be the vendor for my wedding cake. I got two layers. Vanilla and cookies and cream. Everyone at the wedding complimented on how wonderful the cake tasted. We even gave away cupcakes as the token of appreciation gift because they are that good. If you are trying to find a cake bakery that you can trust, taste wonderful, and is a great value for your wallet...this is the place. You won't be disappointed.

Hands down the BEST cake we have ever had! It was well worth the money! The owner and staff were so easy to work with and we had so many compliments on our wedding cake! It was both delicious and beautiful! I would recommend to everyone!!

We used The Icing for our March wedding. We got one of their limited "couture cakes" - it was pricey, but our cake came out beautiful (I daresay even Pinterest-worthy!) and delicious. We got the "turtle" cake (chocolate cake with caramel and pecan filling) and the "white raspberry truffle" (white cake, white chocolate mousse, & raspberry coulis). SO good. Wedding cakes also get, instead of a special freezer-friendly top layer, a gift certificate for another cake to use up to a year or so after your wedding, so you can get yourself a delicious anniversary cake (or any other cake) (though we still ended up with a frozen top tier too, so that's great!).

My husband and I chose Ospreys Landing of Northern Virginia for our wedding. With the venue, they recommended a cake baker that they have partner with in the past. We made an appointment and had our consultation which was awesome. They are extremely helpful and very willing to help create the cake that your heart desires. Once we picked the cake and paid the deposit, it was all set. Literally nothing to worry about. They take care of the transportation and set up of the cake. After saying all of that, I cant forget to tell you that the cake was awesome! Everyone in attendance loved it. I would recommend the Icing to anyone looking for a baker.

The cake looked beautiful and tasted wonderful! Overall, I was happy with my choice. The only problem I had was with the delivery. I had a secondary place creating the groom's cake. The Icing has a policy against this; however, it is accepted as long as both The Icing and the venue are made aware. I went through this process. Yet, The Icing's delivery woman called me ON MY WEDDING DAY and was very rude. I explained to her that I went through the steps and everything turned out okay. However, I did not appreciate her tone. Having worked in customer service, I know that is not the way to talk to a customer. However, I do appreciate the effort they put into the cake and it was otherwise amazing. They also had many suggestions to help us make the perfect cake.

Our experience with The Icing was a positive one. The cake was as good as it looked! We were not surprised as we often purchase their cupcakes, however it was nice to receive many compliments from guests regarding how beautiful the cake looked and how delicious it tasted. We are already looking forward to our anniversary cake! There are a few minor things that can be improved that we would like to comment on. First, we understand that The Icing is very popular in the area and so they are very busy. However, during a few of the times I tried communicating with them via email or phone, I felt as though they were rushing. For instance, on one occasion I was asked for information I had already emailed them and on another they didn't answer all of my questions so I had to email them again. Secondly, the cake design we decided to go with included embossing. The staff was helpful and made suggestions based on this new design. I provided a picture of the cake requested and a pattern was ordered. During a visit to the store I asked to see the pattern and was told that it usually is not shown to the customer. The resulting cake was beautiful however the embossing was very subtle. From a short distance the cake looked like it had plain fondant on it and most guests did not notice the embossing until it was pointed out (and they came in extremely close distance to the cake). Also during my visit, the designer had mentioned applying a shimmery mist to the embossed fondant to make it stand out however this was not done. Despite the few things that could be improved, the cake looked beautiful and was delicious!

My husband and I ordered our wedding cake from The Icing, and we would highly recommend them. We thoroughly enjoyed the cake tasting and consultation. Who wouldn't with all the yummy cake, fillings, and icing? They were very helpful in directing us toward the right size cake for the number of guests and in determining the overall design of the cake. They didn't even cringe when I called a month later and wanted to make a few changes. I also ordered my husband a surprise groom's cake. I sent The Icing an email explaining that I wanted it to have a Las Vegas theme and I told them a few things he enjoyed doing in Vegas. The groom's cake looked fantastic, my husband loved it, and it was one of the most talked about items at the wedding! Oh yeah....the cakes didn't just look good, they tasted amazing! My guests were literally taking multiple slices of cake home with them as they left for the night.

They delivered and set everything up which was a great help as well! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for great service and quality cakes/cupcakes that are beautiful! We spent over a thousand dollars here last year for our wedding in August. We bought a cake, cookies and dessert shooters. Everything was fine...nothing spectacular but it was fine. We received a coupon for a free anniversary cake which expires at the end of August. My husband was recently deployed to Afghanistan so I kindly asked if we could use the coupon when he returns since he will not be here for our first anniversary. They refused to extend the offer....so much for them "honoring those who serve". I will make sure everyone knows about their lack of respect for the men and women defending our freedom.

I used the Icing for my wedding cake and wedding favors (cookies). I was very disappointed with my wedding cake. I paid a little over $800 dollars for one of their couture cakes. I gave the baker lots of ideas for our general theme of the wedding (vintage, books, etc.). I knew going into it that a couture cake gives the baker creative liberty; however, I do not think this cake was anything like what I described I wanted. It was a plain white cake with four tiers and no vintage or book theme to it at all. Based on what they had described to me, I was expecting to be blown away. The cake itself was delicious though. I just wish they had been more in contact with me to make sure that it was what I wanted. My favors were Air Force themed cookies that they personalized for my husband and I. They looked great, although I was not impressed by the taste.

We opted to go for the coveted couture cake where they make whatever they want and we picked the flavors. They bragged about how the cakes they make are normally 1000 to 2000 and we only paid 425. The cake tasted amazing and I would recommend them to anyone just not for the couture. It looked like a normal cheap wedding cake and they didn't give us the cake stand or the leftover boxes we were supposed to get.

I cannot say enough about this little hidden gem! While planning my wedding I happened to get an advertisement via email and was impressed with the flavor choices and designs of the cake. Having a couple of disastorous tastings at our local bakeries and not being overly impressed with the bakery website photos of wedding cakes I decided to just pop by the bakery and pick up some cupcakes to try on my own. I have tried several of the popular "fad" style cupcake bakeries and always disappointed...definitely not the case with The Icing! I was unbelievably impressed with their cupcakes. Simply amazing! I set-up a tasting and the owner met with us herself. The tasting was amazing and not only professional but delicious! After discussing what our design ideas were we left ecstatic with choosing The Icing to do our wedding cake. We ordered a two tier wedding cake along with several dozen cupcakes. We cannot express how pleased we were with the end result. They matched our colors perfectly and the design of the cake was EXACTLY what we asked for. If you are looking for DELICIOUS and reasonably priced than this is definitely the bakery for you. I would highly recommend them to any bride and definitely think if you go for a tasting you will definitely walk away with the same opinion that I have!

The Icing makes amazing cakes and our wedding cake was no exception. It was beautiful and it tasted great. They have some truly unique designs and flavors. I loved that they custom-design each cake and bake you a new one for your first anniversary.
