Holds ceremonies and receptions
We live in Alton and tried valiantly to find a venue there. Unfortunately, nothing adequately met our needs. We'd very much wanted to keep everyone in town, where it would be easy to get together and affordable for guests to stay, but a friend recommended The Ink House and we decided to look.
We liked the aesthetic of the venue from the get-go, particularly the brick walls and The Press Room. We went initially to one of their wedding events where, to our great good fortune, we met Joanna. There's a lot that's wonderful about the Ink House, but Joanna sealed the deal for us.
She patiently and painstakingly went through the details with us (over and over and over because I so wanted to get it right). My first husband and I eloped, and I knew nothing about weddings in general, much less how to plan and execute one. Although she wasn't our wedding planner (we didn't have one), she held my hand through many important decisions. She answered all my questions about vendors, and guided to us find people to work with who we really liked and who were also very helpful. She did this with various subjects (aesthetics, timing, ceremony, etc.).
I could go on and on, but I've already written s long review so will wrap it up. The venue was fantastic and we received a lot of compliments on it. Everyone we dealt with who worked for The Ink House was also fantastic.
Joanna is a shining light - enthusiastic, bright, dedicated, focused, punctual, extremely helpful and a sweetheart. She was a great guide and I appreciate her on multiple levels. We had a beautiful, fun, meaningful experience - much of which we owe to her and others at the venue.
Obviously, I highly recommend the physical space at Ink House, as well as the team that makes it so special.
We knew we didn’t want to get married in a church, a barn, or in St Louis. We were struggling to find a venue that felt like ‘us’. When we found The Ink House, we just knew it was the perfect place to hold our wedding. From the very reasonable pricing and the incredible staff to the beautiful atmosphere, we felt every bit of our dream come alive that day. We truly cannot recommend The Ink House enough!!

Set in downtown Edwardsville, IL, The Ink House is a high-end historic space with contemporary details that now hosts weddings and other milestone occasions. Co-owners and operators Hannah Fink and Kristen Pfund have revived this landmark building, carrying on its long legacy of creativity and modern-industrial aesthetic. This is a space in which you can make your own for your special day, to create your own joyous news.
One block from Edwardsville’s Main Street, The Ink House was the site of a local newspaper - The Edwardsville Intelligencer - from 1921 for several decades. Hannah and Kristen have poured their efforts and heart into bringing life back to this location, inviting to-be-wed couples to hold their wedding festivities within. This duo believes that couples should have flexibility in their choices. Thus, this venue team offers full bar service with mixologists and will accommodate any licensed and insured caterer. Guests entering this venue will first encounter the white palette and splashes of color in the Press Room Lounge. This welcoming space is well suited for guests to mingle or have fun with the in-house photo booth. The brick building features numerous spaces and wheelchair-accessibility.
Wedding events that can be hosted at The Ink House include bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and receptions. This venue offers nearly 6,000 square feet of space, with The Press Room the largest event space at almost 3,500 square feet. Recently they expanded into next door creating another venue known as Off the Record. This venue can be operated for a single event or hosts can choose to use the entire space. Approximately 2500 square feet of outdoor space great for ceremonies and another 2500 square feet typically used for a cocktail reception. The Press Room allows 250 guests can be seated on top-notch Chiavari chairs and around long tables for your special celebration. They are also connected to a boutique hotel called the Urban Collective. A one-of-a-kind experience for travelers seeking something beyond the ordinary. There are eight unique suites that have different styles, themes and vibes. Bar service is provided in-house with mixologists ready to work with you to organize your selections and customized cocktails. This venue team can advise you on trusted caterers and other vendors to help make your wedding planning more seamless.
