Choosing to get married at Barley Sheaf was the best decision we could have made! From start to finish, the experience working with Mark, Deena and the whole team was amazing. They were incredibly responsive to all of our questions and needs, the food was amazing, and the whole venue was immaculate. We rented out the full inn with our family and wedding party for a long weekend and enjoyed delicious breakfasts, swam in the pool and loved gathering together. By the time we left, we felt at home and like part of the family. We cannot recommend this venue enough!!
FIVE STARS. Can’t recommend The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm enough for your wedding! We had a 60 person wedding on a Thursday night in October at Barley Sheaf and it was absolutely wonderful. The ambiance was perfect, we loved the foliage all around and the natural beauty of the venue. When we were first looking for a venue we toured Barley Sheaf with Mark, one of the owners, and he was lovely. We loved the historical vibe and that they have rescue farm animals on site. We had brunch there to try the food (which was amazing!) before deciding to book. We loved that the venue provides day-of-coordination and helps with some planning beforehand, they provided vendor recommendations and we had several meetings with them throughout our wedding planning process. They were quick to respond to emails and very organized!
Our day was seamless no doubt thanks to Kelly, our coordinator. Everyone we worked with there was great. All night people kept saying Melissa was amazing as well :) We loved that the venue also provides food so we didn’t have to find a caterer. And they are a bed and breakfast so my husband and I and some of our guests could stay onsite and didn’t need to drive to another hotel after. For the wedding Barley Sheaf also supplies linens, glassware, tableware, and mixers. For the bar we had to provide liquor, champagne, beer/wine, but that actually helped us save money rather than paying for a bar package with another venue or caterer. We also loved that seasonal beverages were provided as welcome drinks to greet the guests as they arrived for the ceremony, we thought that was a really nice touch! Right after my husband and I walked back down the aisle finally married, our coordinator Kelly greeted us with our signature drinks to kick off cocktail hour. During cocktail hour almost every waiter checked in with my husband and I to see if they could get us anything, it was so considerate and they really went the extra mile. We opted for the breads and spreads and meat & cheese stations for cocktail hour which were a hit. My husband said the homemade tortilla chips were to die for.
Along with 2 stations during cocktail hour, we also got 6 passed hors d'oeuvres. We opted for red pepper soup shooters, bbq shrimp on polenta cake, mini crab cakes, mini cheesesteaks, spinach spanakopita, and 5-spice duck on a cracker with pear miso butter. Every hors d'oeuvre was amazing, everyone had a different favorite! The spanakopita was really popular among the vegetarians. My personal favorites were the duck and red pepper soup shooters, and my husband loved the cheesesteak and crabcakes. For dinner we chose a choice of roasted chicken with roasted brussels sprouts and potatoes, herb risotto cake with goat cheese and red pepper wontons, and braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and haricot verts. Everything was phenomenal. My husband had the short ribs, I had the herb risotto cake, and then we split a plate of chicken. At the tasting I thought the herb risotto cake was perfect, but then at the wedding when I had the chicken… The chicken was insanely good. I don’t even like short ribs but the short ribs were also excellent.
Overall everyone was great to work with, very accommodating, very considerate. We already want to go back to stay the night for our one year anniversary. Thank you to everyone at Barley Sheaf for making our wedding a dream and stress-free.
We had a great experience having our wedding at Barley Sheaf. The staff - Deena, Mark, Abbey, Kelly, and Melissa were all great. They are very organized and on top of details. They answered so many questions and helped us a lot in the year leading up to our wedding. You could tell that they truly cared about their customers! The food was delicious and we got many compliments from guests about the hors d'oeuvres and the property, which is beautiful. We also had some guests with severe allergies and dietary restrictions they were able to accommodate. We would highly recommend The Inn at Barley Sheaf to couples looking for a wedding venue!
Any questions?
I’m going to try to keep this review short because I know when wedding planning time is of the essence, but it will be hard to do because there are so many positives to note about having your wedding at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm.
Before the wedding:
The Barley Sheaf is a truly beautiful property - idyllic, historical and tucked away on a lovely piece of land. It makes you feel like you’re transported to another place far away from Pennsylvania. Off that beauty alone it would be easy to book, but what sold us was that this is a family-owned property. Deena and Mark truly treat you like a part of their family and you can see their pride in this space. This is evident from your first visit. Their attention to detail and their kindness did not go unnoticed especially compared to other venues we saw that felt more cold and commercial.
Mark and Deena are supported by a rockstar team. The event planning team at the Barley Sheaf is always available whenever you need them. We moved only a few months ahead of the wedding and they helped ease my stresses from afar! It felt like a true partnership. I also want to shout out Melissa who helps with lodging.
During your wedding:
Where do I begin! There were a few key reasons we picked this spot for our big day- one was that we appreciated that you could stay on the property and get ready there. This meant that both of our immediate families and my side of the bridal party could stay over which is a breeze logistics wise. We got so many compliments from guests because the Barley Sheaf was unlike anywhere they had ever stayed before - each room is different, from the 1700s manor house to the renovated barn and cottages. This sets the stage for your weekend.
Another reason which I mentioned above was the property. Endless options to take the perfect pictures rain or shine and several spots for the ceremony put my mind at ease. We chose to get married out in the field under two big trees and it felt like the perfect garden wedding.
I know people don’t often expect a lot from wedding food but I can confirm as a “picky eater” that everything here is amazing! So many options to choose from, a really generous cocktail hour with plenty of passed options and delicious entrees.
The Barley Sheaf team has a wonderful, collaborative relationship with vendors and I think that is a testament to how professional, kind and efficient they are. I recommend them to any couple and can confirm it was the best choice we could have made!
It was a true pleasure from beginning to the day working with the owners and staff ! Attention to detail made is less stressful ! The venue is gorgeous , rain or shine, and food was delicious! Not enough adjectives praising them! Book it!
We absolutely LOVED everything about our wedding day. Deena, Mark, Kelly & the rest of the team absolutely exceeded our expectations. We received multiple compliments from guests on the service, food, and overall vibes of the wedding. Booking the Inn at Barley Sheaf was the best decision we made for our wedding day. We had multiple planning meetings with the staff throughout the months leading up to the wedding and this helped ease any wedding day stress/anxiety. We would recommend this venue to anyone looking!
The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm has such great and accommodating staff and team. They have such beautiful grounds and a truly stunning reception space!! Our team loved being able to capture photos of such a lovely wedding!!
The Barley Sheaf team was an absolute joy to work with. Mark and Deena, the owners, are wonderful people. I was planning my wedding from overseas, and they worked to make everything as easy for me as possible, connecting via Zoom and working around the times I was going to be in the area to schedule visits and meetings. They were very flexible (which was so appreciated) and great about addressing any concerns and questions we had. The rest of the team was also wonderful - Kelly and Abbey were so sweet and very responsive in getting back to us throughout the process, and very knowledgable, and the day of the wedding, Reanne was a dream. The weather did not cooperate with us (the morning rain was supposed to clear up by the afternoon, but it poured on the poor staff as they were setting up the cocktail and everything had to be moved inside), but Reanne was totally on top of making sure everything went seamlessly - and it did. The waiters and other staff the day of the event were professional and efficient (I was not even aware of problems as they arose, which is the real test!). The food was really wonderful and plentiful and the venue is beautiful (even indoors!). Really wonderful experience.
I can't say enough good things about the Inn at Barley Sheaf and their staff. They made our wedding dreams come true and were there to help, every step of the way!! They answered every single question I had within a couple hours usually (24 hours max) and helped with planning SO much that it was a breeze to plan my own wedding with no planner. The weekend of our wedding, they were always there to help and went above and beyond! They even delivered water + leftover pizza to the after- after party (in one of their rooms). One of the main reasons we picked this venue was because we had gone to a wedding here before and were blown away with it and the food!! After our own wedding, I can say that so many guests are still raving about the food and the day!! Another major selling point is that there are 16 rooms onsite so you + bridal party/family can stay on site. The rooms are GORGEOUS and it is SO nice to have the inn to yourself. It really feels like it's you're the only one getting married on the day. The grounds are also gorgeous and amazing for pictures. It did rain the morning of our wedding but the backup plan was just as good as getting married outside. The workers are doing this job because they LOVE it and you can tell. They go above and beyond for you and it makes it so special. I would honestly change nothing about my wedding day and a lot of that is due to everything that the staff at the Inn at Barley Sheaf.
The entire Barley Sheaf team helped make our day absolutely perfect. I loved that the entire team was able to support throughout the entire wedding planning process, rather than only having one person to work with. The moment we drove up the driveway, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. The landscaping, the architecture and the quiet, romantic grounds the Inn and Farm sit on are perfect in every way. Our guests were well taken care of, and our wedding party and family was taken care of ever more…somehow! There was always a helping hand available when you needed it and their professionalism with the ability to connect with their bride and groom for the night were extremely impressive. If I could do I it all over again, I absolutely would and I would not change a thing. Thank you to the entire team for helping plan and execute our perfect day!
WE CANNOT THANK BARLEY SHEAF ENOUGH! From beginning to end Barley Sheaf was so helpful and made out whole wedding process go extremely smoothly. Owners Mark and Deena are so great. And they have a wedding events planning team that are all in the know and working with you the whole time. The whole events team is so helpful but throughout the process you are assigned a point person that leads the charge with helping you plan. Ours was Abbey and she was absolutely amazing! Abbey came in on the morning of our wedding, even though she doesn't usually work Saturdays to make sure everything was good for us. Melissa was there throughout the day to help us and she was also absolutely amazing! Barley Sheaf does all the food and provides the option to have the cake from a local baker too! This made it so easy for us to plan from afar as we live in Los Angeles! Everything was so magical and we had the wedding of our dreams thanks to Barley Sheaf!!!
We got married at the Barley Sheaf a few weeks ago and it was the most perfect day. The venue is truly beautiful and there are so many great places on the property to get photos! You really can’t go wrong with this venue. The food was so good—We had so many people comment on how amazing the food was. The staff were wonderful to work with as well. Deena, Mark, and Abbey were so responsive and helped throughout the entire planning process. The whole team was incredible on our wedding day. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic day. We could not be happier with how our wedding day turned out and can’t recommend this venue enough!
It’s been ~3 weeks since our BIG day at Barley Sheaf. We found them through YouTube videos of past weddings and fell in love with the flexibility they offered us. We initially emailed back and forth with Mark, the owner, along with his wife Deena, then set up a walk-through meeting. From their large wedding planning team, we worked most closely with Abbey. Abbey came prepared on the first visit with loads of questions, timelines, offerings. For someone who was planning my own wedding without a Planner, Abbey was a tremendous help. They are tried and true in planning different sizes of events, and on any day of the week. Ultimately, we chose a Tuesday for a smaller-sized wedding, the majority of guests were able to stay within the BnB.
A few months before the big day, we attended a menu tasting with ~7 other couples, our (bride+groom) costs were included in the overall wedding and we brought two guests (who we paid for). The meals and tastings were delicious, and very accommodating to all our allergies. Although we had a small wedding, we had all the allergies, all guests were raving about the attention to detail the staff and waiters had the night of our wedding (from gluten free to tree-nut free to no-garlic and more!). Huge shout out to the amazing and attentive staff and Deena, who was around all day and night for the wedding.
As the official wedding day came closer, we planned another walk through of the Inn and grounds with Abbey and our photographer. Being able to walk through and envision the day of the itinerary helped me calm my concerns and worries. For the actual wedding, we drove in our decor and beverages, Abbey and Kelly were our go-to helpers for arranging items, storing boxes, and helping transform our months-long planning process into a reality.
The guests, and the wedding party, arrived the day before. We enjoyed complimentary breakfast at the restaurant on Tuesday, and Wednesday (after the wedding). The breakfasts are made to order so plan for 45-60 minutes, but delicious with many options (and, of course, great attention and accommodation with allergies).
Would I have done anything differently? If I had more guests, an official wedding planner to help coordinate and bring in rental decor may have helped, but I absolutely loved our small, intimate wedding which encompassed us as a couple. Thank you Mark, Deena, Abbey, Kelly and the entire team!
We loved the inn for our 10/22/22 wedding. The venue is beautiful inside and outside- we luckily had great weather but the inside is so beautiful with large windows that even if you ended up heaving bad weather you would not be disappointed. We currently live out of state and I was a bit stressed about having to plan everything remotely, but the Inn is very hands on with the planning process and designates a lead planner from their team for you. Melissa was our designated coordinator/planner and she was great throughout all of the planning. They really take as much stress out of the process as possible for you. I didn't have a separate wedding planner and I think it is very do-able to do without one given how helpful they are. They collect every detail they could possible need from you in advance to make sure the day goes perfect so there are really no stresses for you day of. The food was also amazing and servers/staff are top notch. Definitely recommend!
We have too many amazing things to say about Mark and Deena and the entire staff at Barley Sheaf! Our wedding day was beyond perfect. From start to finish, everyone on the wedding planning team was so helpful. From answering my hundreds of questions to being flexible with plans on the day of and executing everything to perfection. My husband and I truly felt like we were the only couple Mark and Deena were focused on throughout the whole process. Not only is the staff great, but the food and accommodations were top notch as well. The venue itself is so beautiful and the grounds are so well kept. This is a venue that is picture perfect year round.
We LOVED Barley Sheaf and all the amazing people who work there! Deena and Mark are a fantastic duo and their property is a stunning location for a rustic, natural wedding vibe. Our guests couldn't stop gushing over how beautiful and organized our wedding was. Rienne came up to my husband and I at the cocktail hour with appetizers and drinks, and made sure we were taken care of after a long morning. The servers had our signature drinks on a tray for guests as we went to cocktail hour. Deena was everywhere all at once, and we all joked how she did the work of 3 people that day! The food and cake was amazing too. Can't recommend BSF enough for your wedding day, especially if you want to support a local, family-owned business.
We got married at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm in May 2022. Its a beautiful setting for a wedding and you can't go wrong choosing them for your venue.
Mark, Deena and the whole Barley team were such a joy to work without throughout the planning process and made us feel comfortable and relaxed going into our wedding weekend. On the day of the wedding, the whole staff was always there to assist with anything we needed and ensured everything was exactly as we envisioned! We received lots of rave reviews about the food and the staff, who did such a great job of making everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
We visited lots of venues in the area and one under-rated advantage to BSF is the flexibility their property provides with multiple options for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate on our wedding day, but we were able to move our ceremony inside into the beautiful large barn space and we honestly didn't spend a minute worrying about the rain because everything turned out perfectly with our "backup" plan!
We highly recommend Barley Sheaf Farm to any couples getting married in the Philadelphia area.
Our reception at at Barley Sheaf was magical! The space was so beautiful and perfect. The staff was amazing, the food was "out of this world", and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Deena and Mark are great and helped us get organized ever step of the way. My husband and I loved Barley Sheaf! Highly recommend!
Where to even begin with the Inn at Barley Sheaf? Everything, and I mean everything, was perfection. Our wedding was truly magical.
My husband and I were married there on 12/11/21. We got engaged during COVID and toured BSF in Fall 2020 after friends of ours raved about how incredible their staff had been in shifting and accommodating all of the COVID weddings during 2020. As soon as we arrived there, we immediately felt welcomed like old friends, and met with a service that is unmatched in today's world. On top of being insanely beautiful all over the property, we immediately knew this was the venue and the team for us.
The planning process was so easy thanks for the event team at BS. We live in Maryland, so planning from a distance can sometimes make it hard, but we never experienced that with Barley Sheaf. They provided guidance and answered all questions any time of day or night. Deena is such a light and pure joy! She would call me just to say hi and catch up, and was a friend, confidant, and sometimes second mother to us both! My husband and I always loved chatting with her and the entire staff. We loved how flexible they were to our needs, the way they respond to the ever changing COVID landscape, and how they treat you like family.
The entire wedding weekend, our family and friends commented on the service and energy of Mark, Deena, Melissa, RiAnne, and the entire BSF staff. They were everywhere and always one step ahead of any need or ask. It is not something you see or experience regularly anywhere else. On top of the service, the food is impeccable. Our tasting day was truly our favorite day of planning process.
We are so grateful to the Barley Sheaf team for making our day so beautiful and being the perfect place to celebrate our next chapter as husband and wife. We are truly sad we don't get to work with them now that the wedding is behind us, but have already made a pact and plan to visit annually (at least!) to relive our wedding memories and say hello to our 2nd family. Thank you BSF! You are truly the best of the best in everything you do!
The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm was amazing. We were a COVID couple so we had to reschedule and everything that goes with that. But the BSF was so great to work with and make sure it was as stress free as possible.
We had an absolutely gorgeous wedding. They took such stride’s to care for my parents (who are older and have serious health issues ) to make sure they were comfortable and able to be part of everything. It really meant so much to me.
The food was delicious, the venue is so beautiful and the staff is beyond compare. We had the wedding of our dreams.
We got married in October 2021 at Barley Sheaf, with an outdoor ceremony & cocktails, and reception in the barn. Having our wedding at Barley Sheaf was the best choice we could have made. From the moment we stepped on the property, we knew this was where we wanted to celebrate our big day. The property is gorgeous, so well kept, spacious, and very Bucks County, which we really wanted. More importantly, the staff is unbelievable. Deena, Mark, and the whole team were responsive, supportive, and helped us with every aspect of the day for the 14 months of planning. Planning a wedding during COVID is especially stressful, but we were kept up to date on all of the new guidelines, policies, and plans. BSF was very responsible in terms of COVID, making sure everyone felt comfortable and safe and doing what they could to ensure this. Beyond this, the food at Barley Sheaf is absolutely amazing!!! Our guests were blown away by the food, and by how it was presented. Day of, Deena was great, keeping everything on schedule, checking in on us, and making sure things ran smoothly (which they fully did). Everyone who was at the wedding has been saying for weeks how beautiful, seamless, and truly spectacular the day was. We could not be happier, and would recommend BSF to any couples who are looking for a fairytale wedding!
Putting this upfront because I wanted to know when we were venue searching--this place is perfectly LGBT friendly!
My wife and I got married at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm at the end of May and it was the most amazing experience--everything we could have possibly wanted and more. From day one to day of, Deena was there for us, answered every single question and handled any concerns. She and Mark consistently updated us with any changes surrounding COVID regulations and guidelines and were ready with plans A through Z.
A couple days before our wedding, which we were originally planning to hold outside, thunderstorms and a cold front rolled into the area and we had to make the call to move indoors. Deena made this happen within a matter of days and everything went off without a hitch.
The grounds are gorgeous, the food was delicious, and Deena, Mark and the rest of the team were so incredibly attentive. It was such a beautiful event and all our guests had an amazing time. We would choose BSF over and over again if we could!
Barley is the only place I would recommend to hold a wedding. From the first time we stepped foot on the property, we felt like a part of the Barley family. Mark and Deena were not pushy in getting us to choose them as our venue, but we are so happy we did. They truly treat each of their couples like they are their only clients, and they always have your best interest in mind. Obviously the property, grounds, and food are all amazing, but the reason we chose Barley was because of how caring Mark and Deena are. We were originally booked with them for an April 2020 wedding, which had to be postponed because of COVID. I think they were the only venue who actually cared about their 'covid' couples and made sure everyone was taken care of before taking on any new business for 2021. I don't know what we would have done without them. They made a stressful situation so easy and smooth. And when we finally did get our big celebration they handled everything with ease. Deena and her team have thought of everything before you even need to worry about it. They also kept everyone safe and healthy with proper COVID precautions. I think we may need to have our 5 year anniversary party here to celebrate again! :)
I could give you a million reasons why you should book Barley Sheaf Farm (BSF) for your wedding. My husband and I chose BSF because we felt the venue fit our personality, they’re known for great food (which was important to us), but really we picked BSF because of Mark and Deena. From our very first tour it felt like they were welcoming us into their home. Mark and Deena truly put their heart and soul into BSF and it shows. It became apparent very quickly that we made the right decision. On top of all their help with the normal planning process, Deena, Mark, and the BSF team worked tirelessly to answer COVID question, ease concerns, and keep us updated. They bent over backwards and then some to make sure despite the pandemic everything would be perfect.
Looking back at the weekend I know just how hard they worked to make sure our day was seamless and absolutely perfect. They have all the details, even the smallest ones covered! For example, my husband and I actually got to enjoy the food on our wedding day. The BSF team made sure during cocktail hour we got a little of everything and we were served our dinner first to give us an opportunity to eat!
Our families stayed on property for the weekend which made it feel like a destination wedding but with all the benefits of a local wedding. Thanks to the whole BSF team we had the most perfect, magical wedding day. They treated us like family and we now have a very special place to return to for anniversaries (but we’ll be back for dinner before then)! Booking barley sheaf for your wedding will be the best decision you make.
I don't even know where to begin when reviewing how amazing our wedding was at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm! We hosted our rehearsal dinner, wedding, and next-day brunch at BSF. They have a team of truly caring and talented people, and I am not saying that lightly. Deena is an actual rock star at remembering all of the details and coordinating all of the many, many aspects of the wedding. Her follow-through is incredible and she always had her own suggestions that took our day over the top! Her husband, Mark, was an equal joy to work with who puts so much care into everything he does. And they do it all with such grace - my husband and I hope to grow up to be Deena and Mark! Christina was another coordinator on their team who is just so good at what she does! She answered my many phone calls where I would reach out stressed out about this or that and every time I spoke with her she eased my concerns and we ended each phone call laughing and in high spirits.
We are a Covid couple so there were date changes, safety changes, and endless unique challenges posed by this. BSF was so on top of the state’s guidelines and did everything possible to ensure the safety of our guests. Everyone at the wedding appreciated all of the precautions the venue took and at the end of the day, our guests were safe and still had an absolute blast!
But mostly - the food was INCREDIBLE! Way beyond any food I have had at the endless weddings I have been to. We did a split plate of braised short ribs and scallops. Every guest remarked on the food for all three events we had at the venue. My husband is still talking about the grilled caesar salad we had at the rehearsal dinner. Huge props to their kitchen staff - just wow!
And lastly, the venue itself is beautiful and allows for endless options for stunning photography. We originally planned for a summer wedding - envisioning it to be green and full of naturally blooming flowers. Because of Covid we had to move it to the beginning of April. I was worried the barren trees would look bland in photographs but I am happy to report I was wrong! The venue is equally suitable for an early spring/winter wedding. It ended up looking absolutely magical.
If amazing food, a spectacular team, and a beautiful venue are for you - book The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm! I hope to host many events there in the years to come!
WOW! Just wow! The food, the scenery, the rooms, the owners Deena & Mark, the staff- everything about this place was INCREDIBLE! My husband and I got married at Barley in October and it was absolutely perfect. Our wedding was a dream! They have so many beautiful options where to hold an outside ceremony, you cannot go wrong. Our cocktail hour was right outside the restaurant which had a beautiful green scenery with a hint of the historical building. The reception area can either be in the newly renovated barn or a beautiful tent. We had our reception in the tent and it was so magical! The rooms were magnificent, stuff you see in a fairy tail! The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Hands down, the best food I have ever had at a wedding! So happy we went with Barley for our wedding venue!!!!!!!
Our daughter’s wedding took place in August at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm. This is truly a magical setting; a beautiful manor house with impeccable landscaping and historic accents provided the perfect picturesque backdrop for an outdoor tented wedding. With the current restrictions and health and safety guidelines to move outdoors, Deena, Mark and staff quickly transitioned our vision to a beautiful tented intimate wedding. The wedding day was seamless and exceeded our expectations.
From the attentive professional staff to the phenomenal farm to table dinner, no detail was left out.
From day one, we were treated like family and any questions or concerns were answered and put to rest. The owners are on site and working throughout the evening to ensure everyone’s needs are met. How impressive!
From start to finish, this day was magnificent. Our family continues to rave about the beauty of the farm and the great celebration that was had by all.
Everything you read in all these reviews is true. This place is utterly enchanting and run by the kindest, most attentive couple I've ever met in hospitality - Deena and Mark Frank. Deena and Mark will make you feel like they've adopted you and your loved ones. They just care.
COVID turned our 200 person New Jersey-venue wedding in March into a 30 person wedding at the Inn at Barley Sheaf in August -- and we would not change a thing about our wedding day. We had about 20 others stay on-site with us for the weekend and everyone fell in love.
Our wedding was spectacular: the events team is flexible and professional, the light-filled rooms have character, the food is DELICIOUS, and the hospitality is gracious and always generous. This is the place to hold any event, big or small.
My husband and I decided to stay an extra night after all our other guests had gone home. We were eating breakfast on the restaurant patio the next day and we just had this MOMENT looking out on the magnificent view and watching all the butterflies swirl around the flowers. WHAT IS THIS PLACE? We absolutely can't wait to go back and visit for anniversaries to come. You better be expecting us, Mark and Deena!
After having to completely change my venue due to the pandemic, the Inn at Barley Sheaf was super accommodating to try and help fit us in a date so I could still celebrate my baby shower as normally as possible! The owners Mark and Deena answered all our questions and concerns when new rules and restrictions would turn up from the Governor. We were able to follow all the rules, wear masks indoors, to keep all my guests as safe as possible while still having the most GORGEOUS baby shower ever. I am so thankful for the staff that prepared and served the meal and drinks, they worked so hard and did an amazing job and were super pleasant and accommodating! The food was great, everyone LOVED the scones and mint tea! I am super thankful for the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm for allowing us to have some semblance of normalcy in an otherwise un-normal world we are living in right now. My first baby, a boy, was celebrated and showered with so much love and I can't thank Barley Sheaf enough!
xoxo

Where to begin with this amazing venue?! I get teary eyed thinking about our wedding weekend that they put on for us. If you are lucky enough to have your wedding here - you will meet Mark and Deena who are the stars leading their amazing team. Deena especially has weddings down to a science - she and their whole staff were there for us every step of the way in the wedding planning process. I appreciated the many phone calls and emails exchanged with the team figuring out logistics and making sure that every detail was planned out to match our wedding dreams. With their resources and expertise it made wedding planning easy - and on the day we were stress free as they take care of everything!
We had a particularly large wedding and their entire team rose to the occasion and put on the wedding weekend of our dreams. During the weekend the staff took care of every. single. detail. Including when we ran out of beer the night before and Mark took care of it and made sure that we had enough for the wedding day! This venue/staff goes above and beyond every day and are committed to high quality and amazing service. We feel lucky to have such cherished memories at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm.
Where to begin?! Our wedding at Barley Sheaf was absolutely perfect. Everything about the venue was wonderful - it is beautiful, the owners and staff are incredible, and they make the whole planning process so easy! Mark and Deena are amazing. They make an effort to get to know you as a couple and are involved in every step of the way - they felt like family by the end! It's pretty cool when the owner of the venue comes out to give you a sample of your cocktail hour menu so you don't miss out while you're taking pictures - talk about 5-star service! And of course, all of our guests said the food was the best they had ever had. I truly have nothing bad to say about this venue, and I can't wait to visit every year on our anniversary - if not sooner! Thank you to Mark, Deena, Reanne, and the whole team!
We were lucky enough to get married at The Inn at Barley Sheaf in May of 2019. Without a doubt, selecting the Inn for our wedding venue was the perfect decision, and our day was absolutely magical. Mark and Deena (the owners) were so incredibly kind, patient, helpful, and welcoming throughout our planning process and did everything they could to help us feel comfortable and calm. Abbey & Reanne (the other planners) were amazing!!! While planning, they helped us make some important decisions and did such a great job of being honest, kind, responsive, and caring. The whole team is truly professional, knowledgeable, and really knows what they are doing. We were so impressed by them all!
The day of our wedding, I was nervous of course, but the calmness of the whole team really helped me relax. Abbey, Reanne and Deena were so helpful and really were so involved to ensure that everything went off perfectly. They were right there throughout the entire day, making sure we were happy, fed, and always had a drink in our hand! They helped with coordination and timing and it was easy to trust in them because again, it’s so clear that they really know what they are doing. Not to mention, the chef and the rest of the kitchen staff - wow!! Everything was delicious, they were so accommodating with dietary needs, and they worked so seamlessly during dinner service to make sure our large wedding got served in a timely fashion.
When first choosing a venue, a big reason we chose Barley Sheaf was because there were so many areas for customizing our day to truly make it ours, as opposed to other venues in the area with “packages” and a sort of revolving door feel. Barley Sheaf could not have lived up to our expectations any more, and the day felt so personal and fitting for us. Everything truly was perfect and it goes without saying that the setting is so peaceful, beautiful, and serene. Another huge plus is that you have the whole place to yourselves! Such a comforting feeling the day of the wedding to know you’re surrounded by friends & family.
I could go on and on about all of the reasons you should choose Barley Sheaf as your wedding venue, but I’ll leave it at this: you will NOT regret it! If we could get married 100 times over, we would always choose Barley Sheaf. We can’t thank them enough for everything they did and for making our once in a lifetime day everything that we could have imaged and more!
The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm was the right choice for our wedding. We had 50 people on a Sunday night and it was an absolute blast. Everyone was so helpful and friendly from our very first meeting all the way to the minute we checked out of the inn the day after the wedding. During the wedding itself, we were both able to relax and thoroughly enjoy the day without having to worry about coordinating anything. The venue, facilities, food, service, professionalism, planning, and coordination were second to none. Barely Sheaf is a gorgeous location and it has so much classic American character and charm. We’d like to thank Mark, Deena, Reeanne, Abbey, Josh, and the rest of the Barley Sheaf staff for everything. We are so grateful that we were able to have our wedding at such a wonderful venue, it was simply an unforgettable, dream-like experience.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here, and it was a great decision! The venue has a stunning, rustic vibe with a fireplace to keep warm for the winter. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to help our rehearsal dinner run smoothly.
My husband and I got married at Barley Sheaf in October. Barley Sheaf was the first venue we checked out and we immediately fell in love. Mark, Deena and the rest of the team were very responsive throughout the planning process despite that I may have asked them hundreds of questions. We were hoping for an outdoor ceremony under the trees and cocktail hour on the patio off the manor house but given the cold and rainy forecast several days out, we decided to move everything inside to the barn. Deena was amazing, calling all of our vendors to coordinate Plan B, including reaching out to the band to coordinate an early arrival of the drummer to avoid any disruption during the ceremony and cocktail hour. She handled this and other weather-related logistics with the other vendors without even being asked, which was so fortunate for me because I never would have thought of these logistics myself – especially just days before the wedding! Even in the rain, the venue was shockingly beautiful. Our pictures are amazing. There is a large fireplace in the barn which was burning during the ceremony which contributed to the cozy and romantic atmosphere and the acoustics were perfect for the string quartet. The staff at Barley Sheaf flipped the event space after the ceremony for the cocktail hour/reception in a matter of minutes. The entire day went without a hitch – my mom, my MoH and myself were completely stress free and didn’t have to worry about a thing. The guests have raved about the service and food. We will definitely go back again and again for brunches and dinners because the food is so amazing. Though the weather wasn’t what we envisioned, everything was more perfect than we ever could have imagined, and we are so happy we tied the knot at Barley Sheaf!
If you are looking for a venue at which to have your dream wedding, look no further than The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm.
Nestled at the end of a breathtaking, tree-lined driveway, The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm looks is as if it were plucked out of a storybook. Neat landscaping and charming architecture adorn every square foot of the property. The Manor House, Barn, and Cottages feature spacious, one-of-a-kind guest rooms. You and your guests will love checking out each cleverly-named room's unique style.
Also located in the Barn is the newly and beautifully renovated main event space. Peering out onto the grounds, huge windows allow plenty of natural light to fill the room. Our reception spanned from late afternoon to early evening, so we had the pleasure of enjoying daylight, dusk, and moonlight. Adjoining the event space is a large deck, on which we placed comfortable seating and market lights, so that our guests could lounge and mingle outdoors. Just down the stairs of the deck there is a fire pit, where our guests roasted s'mores long after the music ended inside.
The food at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm is a clear cut above standard wedding fare. Locally-sourced and fresh, each dish is delicious. Some of our favorites were the mushroom arancini (one of several appetizers during cocktail hour), the campanelle pasta with vegetables in a pesto cream sauce (a pasta course before the entree), and the scallops and beef tenderloin split-plate entree. The kitchen and wait staff care about the details of food preparation and presentation, constructing every dish as if it were on display and serving all plates to the table at the same time. For our guests with dietary restrictions and food allergies, the food options were numerous and equally exquisite.
While each aspect is individually superlative, it is the remarkable team of people at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm that ensure your wedding experience is truly flawless. The owners Deena and Mark Frank are welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, and present. They expertly guide you through the intricacies of wedding planning, no matter how big or small the decision. We had challenging timing and lodging questions that they easily sorted out for us. The team is rounded out by Abbey and Reeanne, each with keen attentions to detail and passions for wedding planning. Altogether, the team makes it their top priority to make sure you and your guests are well taken care of. Two examples: At the rehearsal dinner, they surprised my wife with her favorite pie, key lime, despite it being out-of-season and hard to acquire. And at the cocktail hour, they stood by us with appetizers and drinks to make sure we had the chance to eat and drink before we got too busy mingling with our guests.
All in all, choosing the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm for our wedding was the single best decision we made. We are already looking forward to going back for our anniversaries!
My husband and I can truly say that we had the wedding of our dreams!! From the moment we came across the Inn at Barley Sheaf, we knew that this was the place that we wanted to celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together. We could talk about the beautiful grounds, or all of the options for ceremony locations, but the photos are enough proof of that! I want to talk about Mark, Deena, Abby, Reanne and the rest of the staff at the Inn. From the second we met them, they greeted us with open arms and treated us like family. Mark and Deena don't just own the Inn, they LOVE the Inn! And it shows with all of the effort and time that they put into every single wedding that they hold. It was all hands on deck from the second we stepped inside. They were there for us throughout the entire planning process, making sure that we stayed on track, and providing us with guidance and recommendations along the way (75% of our vendor recommendations came from Mark and Deena, and they did not disappoint!!). We spent our entire wedding weekend at the Inn, holding our rehearsal dinner in their newly renovated barn. It felt like a private weekend getaway surrounded by our closest family and friends. On the day of our wedding, we just knew that everything would go exactly as we had hoped for. Abby and Reanne spent the entire day making sure that every last detail was taken care of, even the smallest things didn't go unnoticed. The grounds are impeccable, the food is impeccable, and the staff is impeccable. We had our fairy tale wedding, and we owe it all to the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm. The morning after the wedding, we were greeted by Mark and Deena in the downstairs foyer. Deena and I began to reminisce on the events from the entire weekend, and we cried together. If there is anyone that pours their heart and soul into their work, it is these two. We will forever be grateful for the memories that they have provided us with. We will be back on our anniversary to celebrate!! Much love to all of you at the Inn!!
We are from Boston and our daughter and her husband live in the Bucks County area. Their favorite place for dinner, and brunch, is the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm. So when they got engaged in February of 2017 there was no question this was their top choice for a venue. In addition to the AMAZING food, the rustic ambiance, and the beautiful grounds, they were equally impressed with the staff who go "over the top" to please their guests. But the connection they felt with the owners, Mark and Deena, truly sealed the deal. When my husband and I came out for the informational tour we understood immediately why she chose the Inn at Barley Sheaf. Mark and Deena were experienced, professional, organized, and knowledgeable in every facet of the planning stage. (The rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch took place at the Inn as well.)They know what works and what doesn't and provide assistance every step of the way. They're extremely responsive and able to customize based on their clients' needs. As the mother of the bride I can truthfully say we were never concerned how the weekend would go; we had tremendous confidence in the owners and their staff. No stress and no worries - everything went like clockwork! From the outdoor ceremony, to the cocktail hour on the deck, from the main event to the after party, and then finally the farewell brunch on Sunday. To quote our daughter and her husband " It was perfection. We wouldn't have changed a thing!" The only thing my husband and I would have done differently is to stay Sunday night (after everyone left!) but we had to head home. Can't wait to go back for dinner next time we're in town.
I wish that I could give the Barley Sheaf venue, wedding team, restaurant and staff overall a million star review, because five stars is just not enough to rate our experience. The moment my husband and I had our first dinner at the Barley Sheaf over a year and a half ago we immediately knew that when we were ready to get married it would have to be here. Not only are the grounds something out of a fairy tale, but the food is outstanding. We loved the Barley Sheaf Farm so much that we also decided to have our rehearsal dinner and after wedding brunch there as well! From the moment we sat down with Deena and Mark to map out how we envisioned our special day to be, everything was smooth sailing as we were in expert hands. Mark and Deena were with us every single step of the way, along with their AMAZING planning team. The entire Barley Sheaf team consistently made us feel like we were a part of their family and they were just as invested with our big day as we were. Mark, Deena and the entire BSF team were ALWAYS going above and beyond to make sure our big day (and rehearsal dinner) went off without a hitch. They were with us throughout the entire process, start to finish and consistently made us feel like no phone call or question was ever an inconvenience (and trust me we had a TON). I loved how I never had to feel stressed about how our rehearsal dinner would run or what would happen on the day of our wedding, as I knew they had it handled. And boy was I right, as our day was nothing short of PERFECTION because of the BSF team. Both myself and my husband felt like we could just relax and enjoy our wedding day because we were in such great hands. Our family and friends spent the entire wedding weekend at the Barley Sheaf from our rehearsal dinner, to the wedding day, and then our morning after brunch. Every single guest of ours could not stop raving about the wonderful time they had, how attentive the staff was, how incredible the food each day had been, and how they wanted to come back and book another stay to enjoy all the Barley Sheaf has to offer, because they couldn't get enough. I could go on for days about our exceptional experience with Mark and Deena and the entire BSF team who made our wedding a dream come true, because the truth is there is no one out there like this team who is going to care more, work harder, go as above and beyond to bring your wedding day vision to life more than this team. Mark and Deena are two of the most genuine, sincere, and kind hearted people that I know and it shows with how much their staff, vendors, wedding couples and guests love them. Throughout our entire wedding journey Mark and Deena have become like second parents to us, and the team like our own family. We will forever cherish the memories the BSF team was able to help us create for the most important day of our lives. We are forever grateful and would without a doubt recommend this venue to every single couple out there looking for a magical wedding day you just cannot get anywhere else.
Mark and Deena were very attentive to delivering on our vision for our special day. They went above and beyond to make us feel like family! Unfortunately the morning of our wedding turned to rain. They assured us everything would be fine and they managed to deliver on our dream wedding despite the weather setback. We love having this venue also being a bed & breakfast where our whole family came to spend the weekend and it feel like our own home :-). We plan on spending our anniversary here every year going forward to relive the romance and beauty of this property.
An absolute dream come true!! The most beautiful wedding venue with the very best team. I can't thank Mark and Deena enough for making everything about our day perfect.
There is something very special about the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm and I fell in love instantly. Mark and Deena strike the perfect balance between making wedding planning feel fun and personalized while maintaining a high level of organization and professionalism that calms and assures you that all of the details are covered...and they were, every last one!
They LISTEN to you! During the planning stage, the entire team communicated with us frequently and took meticulous notes about what we envisioned for our wedding day. When we needed help, they suggested vendors and/or ideas, but never once pushed or pressured us into something we didn't want. Plus, they are flexible which we really appreciated because we moved out of state halfway through wedding planning and they didn't miss a beat. They are not a wedding factory. They are wonderful people who spend time with you and work to accommodate every request. Honestly, I will miss seeing them!
The grounds are stunning. The food is phenomenal (like really, really good). The rooms are gorgeous. The barn is completely renovated. The atmosphere is so romantic. The staff is unbeatable. I could go on and on and on...
We received SO many compliments about the Barley Sheaf and we had the time of our lives on our wedding day. I could not recommend this venue any more!
It goes without saying that we couldn’t have found a more perfect venue for our dream wedding. From the moment we stepped on the grounds and met Mark, who is one half of the power couple that owns the property, we knew that the Inn at Barley Sheaf was exactly what we were looking for. Mark dedicated an entire afternoon to touring the grounds with us and making it known that he was just as vested in our wedding as we were.
Before we started looking for a venue we agreed we wanted uniqueness, character, and most importantly a place where our wedding felt special and we wouldn’t be just another number. The Inn at Barley Sheaf gave us all of that and more! From the various impeccably styled rooms we filled with our family and friends, the exquisite grounds which make this bed and breakfast feel cozy yet elegant and luxurious at the same time, and the incredibly delicious award-winning restaurant style plates which our guests declared the best wedding meal they’ve ever had, we couldn’t have asked for more…
In comes Deena (making the power couple whole) and her expert planning team Abbey and Reeanne. These three women were able to take our vision and make it a reality better than we could’ve imagine. They knew exactly what questions to ask and were able to put together every inch of our wedding weekend allowing us the time to relax, take it all in and really enjoy ourselves. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the rest of the staff at the Inn at Barley Sheaf who were attentive, pleasant, and who were just as happy for us as our own family and friends.
We leave you with this… some people will say that there may be minor hiccups at your wedding, and to just brush it off. But, we will say without hesitation, thanks to the dynamic duo Mark & Deena and their expert team at the Inn and Barley Sheaf, our magical wedding went off without one single hitch and for that we will always be grateful! We look forward to many more visits to the Inn, if for nothing else, than to eat the outstanding food prepared by Executive Chef Josh Homacki and his wonderful team!
Selecting the stunning Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm for our wedding weekend was the easiest and best decision we have ever made. From day one, the Inn staff went above and beyond with answering all our questions, reaching out to us to confirm details were in place and accommodating my dietary restriction. Abby and Deena were incredible at recommending reliable, highly professional and outstanding vendors to make our day go on without a hitch. On our wedding day, we were able to sit back, relax and enjoy the day. Reeanne, Abby and the event staff went above and beyond to make our guests feel welcome and accommodated all their needs and answered any and all requests. Our guests are still talking about the professionalism and outstanding care that the staff provided. Then we get to the food, the guests say, “not only was this the best meal at a wedding but the best meal we ever had”. Josh and Drew in the kitchen did an impeccable job creating a unique menu that met all the needs of our guests. From vegetarians to food allergies and meat lovers, the meals were far above expectations. The only negative of the weekend, having it come to an end. Mark, Deena and the entire Inn staff are truly top notch!
There are not enough kind words and compliments in the English language to adequately describe how fabulous it is to get married at The Inn at Barley Sheaf! My husband and I fell in love with this property instantly and working with owners Mark and Deena and their fantastic event planning team was a pleasure! They helped plan every last detail and were patient and prompt with my MILLIONS of emails and questions! The property is so romantic no matter what season you pick, rain, shine, or snow! We planned for a May outdoor garden wedding, followed by an outdoor cocktail hour with the reception in the (brand new barn)...Imagine my panic as the weather forecast accurately predicted heavy storms and downpours. The team at IBSF was on top of everything and helped convert the entire wedding plan to accommodate the weather. I can't even call it "Plan B" because it was just as beautiful and perfect as it would have been if it didn't rain. And the food....oh my gosh! The food is absolutely delicious! My guests won't stop raving about how my wedding had the BEST food they had ever had! There is not one thing I would change about my experience with IBSF! Thank you so much!!!
We had our wedding at The Barley Sheaf in July 2018– and I can honestly say it was my dream wedding. The venue, food, and staff were beyond anything I could have imagined. From the moment we booked with them to the day of the wedding — We had nothing short of a perfect experience. Always responsive and helpful— we never felt like just another engaged couple. It was the best night and everyone complimented us afterwards on how amazing the venue was. Thank you to The Barley Sheaf— we would recommend this place to anyone ! Looking for a wedding spot !
We got married at the Barley Sheaf in July 2018 and we could not have been happier with the experience. The venue is gorgeous, both inside and outside. The food was delicious. We still talk about how good the peach and corn salad was! Several of our guests told us it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding. Mark and Deena were great to work with - consistently friendly and competent. We really appreciated the personal touch they brought to the event. All of the staff we interacted with were professional and helpful. We had both our rehearsal dinner and wedding at the Barley Sheaf and booked rooms for Friday and Saturday night, which we recommend if it’s in your budget. It helped the wedding feel like a weekend getaway with our nearest and dearest. A great experience all-around.
We held our wedding at the Inn at Barley Sheaf in May 2018 and could honestly not imagine having our wedding anywhere else. It was a truly amazing weekend and we owe many thanks to Mark and Deena for providing such a beautiful venue, thoughtful service and just being all around friendly, professional hosts.
We spent a great deal of time visiting other wedding venues in the Bucks County and NJ area but when we first drove the tree lined drive up to Barley Sheaf we instantly knew this was the venue we wanted. It hit on everything we wanted: the classic and intimate feel, the beautiful on-site inn where our family and wedding part could stay, an amazing restaurant with top chefs who’d be preparing the wedding meal, and awesome owners in Mark and Deena who were amazingly nice but who we also knew how to handle any curveball on a crazy wedding weekend.
From the beautiful Inn rooms, brunch at the restaurant, wine and cheese happy hour, walking the grounds, and the amazing happy hour and reception, Mark and Deena made the Inn at Barley Sheaf feel like our own private estate for the weekend. We had so many friends and family come up to us and say it was hands down the best wedding they’ve ever been to.
We were the first wedding taking place after Barley’s new wedding space was built next to the existing barn, and we naturally were a little nervous that the project wouldn’t finish in time. However, Mark provided weekly updates, photos and naturally, the barn was done without a hitch and looked amazing.
We can not recommend the Inn at Barley Sheaf more emphatically, it was amazing.

The Perfect Wedding Venue!
Where do I begin? There simply aren't enough words to say how much my new husband and I loved our recent wedding on July 7, 2017 at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm -- it was absolutely magical ! The owners, Mark and Deena, are so great and couldn't have been sweeter or more helpful to us during the entire planning process -- it is obvious that they truly love what they do, and we came to love them so much. Our planner, Debra, was absolutely the best - so kind, professional, helpful and accommodating - and she really made planning our wedding at Barley Sheaf such a fun and exciting time -- we couldn't have done it without her. We just loved her and felt so blessed getting to know and work with her. We looked forward to seeing everyone who works at Barley Sheaf every time we went on site, and we look forward to seeing them on our many visits in the future. From the gorgeous tree lined entrance driveway, to the beautiful Manor House and incredible grounds and gardens, you will be simply stunned by the beauty of this place. It reminded my husband and I of our trips to the South of France, right here in beloved our Bucks County. The property makes for an enchanting wedding setting, and the people at Barley Sheaf can't do enough to ensure that your wedding is as perfect as can be. They truly went over and above for us, especially on the day itself, and we can't thank them enough for exceeding our expectations. You will love everything here - from the exceptional food to the gorgeous property and the beautiful rooms for your guests. It was truly the best possible place for us to hold our wedding, and I cannot recommend it highly enough!!
This is going to sound more like a love letter than a review, but I hope this helps you understand how amazing this place is. My husband and I got married here, and I cannot imagine doing it any other way.
Firstly, the property gives you the perfect amount of luxury retreat and cozy home. You can enjoy the fresh air in the garden or snuggle up by the fireplace in your room.
All the rooms are named after plays by George Kauffman, lending each one its own decor and style. Comfort and amenities are guaranteed in all. As a bride, I stayed in "The Man Who Came To Dinner" and loved everything from the view to the jacuzzi tub.
Secondly, by staying at the inn, you get the best breakfast and dinner. Every meal gets high scores for ingredients, presentation, and the ability to help you easily achieve the clean plate club. Furthermore, you get wine & cheese from 4-5pm! Luckily I was with friends and family who shouldn't judge me for standing next to the cheese the whole hour.
Lastly, the people at this inn are incredible. I think I told everyone that I love him or her by the time I left. The staff are attentive, lovely, and really do care about your stay. This is certainly a testament to how the owners, Mark and Deena, operate and work. If you are thinking of having your wedding here, Mark helps you get set up and is so patient, especially if you have a lot of questions like me! Once you've locked in a date, Deena and Debra take over to help you step by step to organize your perfect wedding day. Whatever you need, these ladies are on it! FYI - they told me they can't control 2 things: my guests and weather. But I'm pretty sure they made a special deal for me! The only time it stopped raining that weekend was on my wedding day!
Moral of the story: don't think twice about it, book it, and you won't regret it.
It's really hard to put into the words how much my husband I love the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm, and how wonderful our wedding was. We booked the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm almost a year and a half before our wedding as we were blown away by the property, the food, and the staff. Although we were stressed because we were planning our wedding from abroad, we were met with support by Deena, Mark, Debra, Mona, and Joliene. They knew what we wanted, and they helped every step of the way to make our dream become a reality. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, and we can’t wait to return again in the future. Thank you again, Mark and Deena.

A bit of background. My wife had us visiting every last venue under the sun in the greater (and I mean greater) NYC area. We saw wineries on the North Fork, beach-side venues on the Jersey Shore, and farm/farm-like spots in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We happened to pass by the Barley Sheaf Farm on the way to another Bucks County place that we had seen online. After seeing that other spot, which wasn't for us, we made an impromptu visit to the Barley Sheaf Farm ("BSF").
Both of us were down at first sight. BSF and its grounds are beautiful. We loved the idea of having our family and close friends stay with us on site. The outdoor wedding, veranda cocktail hour, and 100-125 person barn reception were exactly what we were looking for. Joliene, the event planner at BSF, was solid -- friendly, totally straight/no-nonsense, and willing to work with whatever we wanted to do. And the price was comparatively reasonable. So we went for it.
It was awesome. The Inn and grounds, the staff, and most importantly, the event. The owners were so great to work with. Joliene was there to help us with everything. And we had an amazing time.
Lots of people told us that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. I imagine that's an easy thing to say. That said, the people who said it to us seemed genuine about it. From my (biased) point of view, it was really well run, the food was great, the location couldn't be beat, and my wife and I and all of our friends and family had an amazing time. I think that's about all you can ask for.
I did not have a good experience at this venue. Originally booked here and then canceled. It is a beautiful reception venue, however, they informed us after we signed the contract that we would have to decorate the space ourselves the day of the wedding! And that we would only be able to get into the space at 9am at the earliest, the day of the wedding. As a bride on her wedding day, I would not want to have to worry about decorating my own space only moments before I get married. We spoke with one of the inn managers about the expensive cost of the venue and possibly having a cheaper meal option. We were spoken down to as if we were illiterate. They mentioned their food is so expensive because it is "farm to table". However, we are getting married in December, so not much is coming off the farm at that time, so we had a hard time understanding where the high expense was coming from. I was not happy with the way I was spoken to by one of the inn keepers and I was not happy with the fact that they made it seem completely normal that they changed the contract days after we signed it (changed the cocktail hour space on us and changed the cocktail hour timing, which in turn made our wedding end earlier than we anticipated).
Response from the Vendor on 10/16/2015
Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you did not have a good experience with the Inn. We pride ourselves on exceeding expectations and did not in this case. I am sorry that you did not feel you were dealt with in a supportive way.
As...
a venue, we can potentially have the space rented out the night before your wedding, which can limit the time allowed to decorate, but if the space is not being used the night before you could get in the day/night before. This was highly likely, but not something we could promise. And while I realize the pricing for the event was on the high end for your budget, I was disappointed that even with the discount we gave you were unable to make that work, as I was under the impression the discount was just what you needed. I will say that I thought we had come to an agreement on the cocktail hour, so that caught me by surprise.
We will certainly learn from this feedback and strive to get better. I understand that you have found another venue that better fits your budget and know that you will have a terrific day. We wish you and your family the best of luck.
I highly recommend The Inn at Barley Sheaf farm as a venue at which to hold a special event, or to escape for a quick get-away. I booked my May 2015 wedding at Barley Sheaf based upon the exquisite beauty of the grounds, the elegant nature of the buildings, and the professional, but warm demeanor of the entire team. Every aspect of the location is picturesque, and offers a spectacular backdrop for your day. Proprietors Mark and Deena, and their amazing team, are dedicated to making the planning go seamlessly; from soup to nuts. I was not hesitant to put my special day in the hands of Barley Sheaf, as their passion for what they do is evident. My interaction with everyone was nothing short of spectacular. Thank you Mark and Deena for such a wonderful experience!
Words cannot describe the feeling of competency, professionalism and superb service from the entire staff at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm. They helped me plan a highly personal wedding, recommending outstanding vendors for hair, makeup, flowers, etc. The Inn and grounds are spectacular, you feel a sense of peace driving down the tree lined drive opening to gorgeous grounds. Guests could not believe the food, service and beautiful gardens. It felt like my wedding was in the country side of England (yet easily accessible on main road). Many guests stayed overnight and raved about the antiques and quality of care they received. It is an oasis! My photographs with the Inn at Barley Sheaf as the setting are stunning. I had no worries as the staff's attention to detail was impeccable. Hats off to the entire team for making us--and each one of our guests--feel welcomed and important. It was an outstanding celebration.
My mother and I happened upon the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm by accident while driving around New Hope. We are so glad we found it. Driving down the tree lined driveway, we knew we had found a special venue. The lush grounds, charming Inn house and functional farm invited us in. The wedding/catering plans were surprisingly affordable considering all the service and extras they provided. On the day of the wedding, the staff setup and arranged the whole ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception without a hitch. Our guests truly felt as if they had been welcomed to our home for an intimate get together. And the rooms were comfortable beyond belief. The staff prepared breakfast was delicious and we couldn't have picked a better venue. I can't wait to celebrate our anniversaries there in the future.
My husband and I had our intimate wedding at the Barley Sheaf! We were married in one of their suites in front of the fireplace. We then had a wonderful cocktail hour and a delicious dinner! We then had everyone stay over with us in all of the gorgeous suites! Everyone was so helpful to our party! I would recommend this place to anyone!
We had a beautiful outdoor fall wedding ceromony in the gardens of the inn. Our guests stayed in the historic inn. Fred, the coordinator with the Inn, was beyond helpful. His vision for the display of decorations, food, favors, and flow of the day were impeccable. Kristin was also a gem in her helpfulness. Our guests had the run of the Inn's grounds and were put immediately put to ease. We also used their chef for out reception dinner and coctail hour. The food was superb. Our pictures say it all. It was a beautiful setting:
