After cancelling our large, indoor wedding due to the pandemic, my husband and I started looking around for venues for a micro-wedding in the fall with emphasis on great food. The Inn at Little Washington was so perfect, I wish we had just planned on a micro-wedding there to begin with! We held our ceremony on the Field of Dreams, cocktail hour on a covered veranda, and dinner in a private ballroom with three sets of double doors open to the outside. The events coordinator, Lisa, and her team handled everything (flowers, wines, decor, cake, etc.) superbly, accommodated last-minute changes to the guest list, hosted us for afternoon tea to plan, borrowed a mannequin from the dining room to surprise guests at the ceremony, and even helped direct our rehearsal (definitely not in the job description, but much appreciated). Everyone is still reminiscing about the excellent menu. I wish we could get married here every year, but we'll settle for returning on our anniversary!
True professionals, kind people, ready to help in every way without getting in the way, with inspiring and creative suggestions. The food at The Inn at Little Washington is, of course, best in class. The buildings and grounds are elegantly beautiful yet accessible and unstuffy, with a gorgeous mountain backdrop, We had started planning 8 months in advance, then, thanks to an unexpected Supreme Court decision, found ourselves calling to ask, "Could you squeeze us in next weekend?" They could and they did, although no one would have ever known there was any "squeezing" involved. From the outside photographer they recommended to the resident pastry chef and the in-house florist (you would not believe the cascading hydrangeas), it really was a once-in-a-lifetime event. And just exactly as we wanted it. My husband and I couldn't have been happier that day. We'll be back for every anniversary!
Our wedding at The Inn at Little Washington was truly one of the most enchanting weddings we have ever experienced (a little bias here, yes, but we have been to some pretty incredible weddings all over the world, so the bar was set somewhat high to begin with). The setting is pastoral and charmingly romantic. The Inn itself is historic yet opulent and modern. Every little detail is well thought out and you will not want for anything...before you even realize you need something, they have thought of it for you. The level of service provided by the Inn deserves more than 5 stars in our opinion--they were phenomenal. Our accommodations in the Gamekeeper's Cottage were luxuriously rustic and spacious. We could not have asked for a more beautiful place to celebrate our special day with our family. The Chef created one of the most incredible dining experiences we have ever had...every bite was well thought out and perfectly executed. There isn't a single thing we would change about our experience at The Inn at Little Washington!
