A special setting to unite family & friends to usher in an important new chapter. After visiting several venues, this was the only place that felt fully aligned with our vision and values. The venue itself is a no-frills barn that comes alive with the help of owner, Kim, and her fabulous crew. The property is gorgeous, featuring mountain views and a wildflower garden. The caterer, while technologically-challenged and difficult to reach, cooks a spectacular fully customized menu. Our wedding weekend was personal, meaningful, and incredibly fun. We will cherish the memories for a lifetime.
(Be warned: there is no Wi-Fi anywhere on the property, so download everything you might need ahead of time!)
Our family and friends are just coming down from our weekend high after celebrating my son's wedding. The Inn At West Settlement and the Catskills delivered! The agrarian setting in the mountains complete with their own flower gardens provided the most beautiful, peaceful setting. The dedicated staff saw that everything went off without a hitch. We highly recommend Kim and her crew.

Absolutely magical! Our wedding at The Inn At West Settlement was everything we dreamed of and more, and we owe much of that to the incredible venue and our coordinator, Kim.
The venue itself is breathtaking, with its beautiful landscapes and elegant interiors providing the perfect backdrop for our special day. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by its charm and beauty. The attention to detail in the decor, the pristine grounds, and the stunning views made our wedding feel like a fairy tale.
Kim, our coordinator, was nothing short of amazing. From our first meeting, she made us feel at ease and listened carefully to our vision. Her expertise and meticulous planning ensured that every detail was perfect. She was always available to answer our questions, offer suggestions, and provide support throughout the entire process. On the day of the wedding, Kim was a true maestro, orchestrating everything seamlessly and ensuring that we could simply enjoy every moment without a single worry.
Thanks to Kim and the wonderful team at The Inn At West Settlement, our wedding day was truly unforgettable. The entire experience was beyond our expectations, and we couldn't be more grateful. We highly recommend The Inn At West Settlement and Kim to anyone looking for the perfect venue and an outstanding coordinator to make their wedding day magical.
We cannot overstate how thrilled we are with how our wedding at The Inn at West Settlement turned out! It was a dream location, more idyllic than anything we could have imagined, and 1000% worth the cost. It made for an absolutely magical wedding weekend.
THE PROPERTY: The amazing thing about this venue is just how varied and spacious the property is, and how much access you have to every nook and cranny – they only book one wedding per weekend, so the idyllic property is all yours from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon! The farmhouse where we stayed is cozy and beautifully decorated, the barn where we held our reception is one-of-a-kind with its soaring rafters and natural, rustic finish, and the terrace and outdoor bar are perfect for the more casual hangs including rehearsal dinner on Friday night and cocktail hour on Saturday. The property not only allows for the seamless flow of guests but also encourages them to explore and take in the lush surroundings (there’s a firepit, lawn games, a glistening pond, stone walls galore, you name it). Everything manmade on the property is amazing, but perhaps the best aspect of this place is the breathtaking natural landscape. Located on a private dead end road, the venue is nestled in a sweet little valley surrounded by rolling hills, forest, and natural creeks. The views of the Catskills are to die for! There are multiple ceremony sites to choose from, and the backdrop for each is more gorgeous than the next. Countless guests and vendors (including our photographer, who shoots a wedding nearly every weekend) exclaimed that it was one of, if not the prettiest setting they’d ever been to for such an event.
THE COORDINATOR/FLOWERS: Kim Lynas, who owns and operates this venue, also serves as the day-of coordinator, and she is wonderful to work with. She is calm, cool, and collected and brings a wealth of experience to the wedding planning process. She seamlessly handled our vendors day-of and ensured that everything stayed on schedule. Most impressively (in my book at least), she’s a Master Gardener, and maintains an outrageously abundant cultivated flower garden (a meadow, really) at the venue for you to hand pick your wedding flowers from! The flowers she has to choose from are beyond beautiful, there are so many of them, they are as local and sustainable as you can get, and they come at no extra cost. My mom, sister, and I created our own bouquets and designed the boutonnieres, and Kim was a supportive, patient, and fun teacher throughout the process. This Friday midday activity was one of my favorite moments of the whole weekend.
We fell in love with this venue during our very first visit, and we could not be happier with our choice. Give this place a try – you won’t regret it!
The Inn at West Settlement was the most perfect wedding venue we could have ever imagined. My husband and I were fortunate to be married here on 10/15/22, and we had the most incredible ceremony and reception.
We were completely taken in from the first time we visited the property and knew immediately it was the right fit for us. The location is so peaceful and absolutely breathtaking surrounded by the mountains and we were blessed with gorgeous weather and stunning foliage. Our family and friends LOVED the venue and location, and we are still receiving so many compliments on how beautiful everything was!
One of our favorite aspects of the venue was being able to stay in the gorgeous farmhouse on the property with our immediate families. We didn’t have to worry about getting to the venue on the day of and we could really enjoy spending extra time all together. We also really wanted the opportunity to host a weekend of events to spend as much time as possible with all our guests, so we were able to host a welcome dinner and farewell breakfast at the barn as well.
Kim was TERRIFIC to work with. She and her team clearly take pride in this property; they make it shine in the best light possible. We loved every single person who worked with us throughout preparation and during the weekend. Everyone was so polite and welcoming and easy to collaborate with. Kim has fantastic taste and we completely trusted all her suggestions. We worked with the majority of her recommended vendors and that was a huge benefit – everything ran so smoothly and, if any adjustments were needed, they were quickly and efficiently modified. Everything went perfectly.
There were SO MANY details that made this venue stand out to us, but I will list a few. Kim also worked with us for the flowers, and we were thrilled with how they came together! The natural beauty of the space meant that very little added decoration was needed and there is a prop closet with items to repurpose for centerpieces, candle holders, chalk boards, seating chart displays, etc. This was an immense help when planning because we did not have to bring all these items with us. There were also several small touches that made the barn feel really personal and homey – the gorgeous farm tables (they are so beautiful that no runners or tablecloths are needed), mismatched chairs, assorted vintage china for the place settings, and we were able to set up some lawn games for the cocktail hour.
I clearly could go on and on about how wonderful The Inn at West Settlement is! We couldn’t have found a more perfect place. It was an honor to host our special occasion at such a remarkable venue.
The Inn at West Settlement is truly a perfect venue for a wedding weekend! My husband and I just got married there the weekend of July, 9th 2022, and everything was even more magical than we could have ever expected.
First of all, the location is STUNNING; nestled amongst mountains, farmland and nature preserves, the views could not be better. Being able to stay in the farmhouse, an easy barefoot walk away from the reception barn, made getting everything ready for the big day so relaxed.
This relaxed energy was truly made possible by Kim's expertise. It is clear that she loves what she does, and she does it so well. The whole year leading up to the wedding, she was available over email to answer all of our questions and send recommendations. When the weekend finally arrived, she was there to greet us with a warm smile and walk us through everything. One of my favorite parts of having my wedding at The Inn at West Settlement was being able to help make the flower arrangements, walking through the garden with Kim and pointing out the flowers I liked best.
If you are looking for a naturally beautiful location, where all parts of your wedding weekend can take place, where you get to partake in creating your wedding decor under the guidance of a wedding expert, look no further: The Inn at West Settlement is for you!
I cannot say enough great things about this wedding and the owner, Kim. My husband and I got married at this beautiful property 9-18-21. The owner Kim was an absolute pleasure to work with from the day we booked 2 years ago all the way through the wedding. Her property is stunning, well-kept, and her property staff member, Danny, was calm, collected, hardworking and an absolute sweetheart to work with. We decided to book a stay at the farmhouse on the property and highly recommend for all couples getting married at The Inn. We stayed there with a few couples in our bridal party and made a fun weekend out of it.
We were required to pay Kim to be our day of coordinator and I'm so happy that was a requirement in our contract. Kim stayed calm when we ran into a few hiccups, kept an eye on the weather, and made sure everything was running smoothly so I could get ready with my bridesmaids without a worry in my mind. Kim also has a very large "prop room" with items like mason jars, signage, lawn games, etc. We were allowed to use anything from that room free of cost. Not only were we allowed to raid the prop room, but we were also allowed to use flowers from Kim's stunning cutting gardens. Kim created the most gorgeous arrangements for our tables in simple mason jars. The wood tables and barn-setting is so beautiful in itself that we didn't need big floral bouquets on the tables. Her taste is impeccable!
Our guests are still talking about how stunning the scenery was and how great our wedding turned out. We cannot recommend The Inn at West Settlement enough. We will definitely be back during the off-season to hopefully stay at the farmhouse for some skiing. Thanks for everything you did for us, Kim!
I cannot recommend this venue enough! If you are looking to have a picturesque barn wedding in the Catskills, this is the place to do it! The property is absolutely gorgeous and it was so convenient to be able to stay at a farmhouse on site during the wedding weekend. Kim was super helpful from the outset: she provided us with a comprehensive list of vendors in the area, she answered questions throughout the planning process, and she made the actual weekend run so smoothly! We did not have to worry about a thing (even the variable weather!) during the weekend, Kim took care of it all. Many of our guests came up to us during the wedding to ask where we had found such a perfect venue. Don't miss out on this special place!!
We had an amazing experience here for our daughter's wedding. First, the venue is absolutely perfect -- the barn is gorgeous, and the the setting is magical. We were lucky with the weather and had the wedding outside, but the wedding would have been beautiful in the barn as well. So, one additional plus is that, unlike some of the other venues we saw, you do not need to rent a tent in case of bad weather. Also, the barn has lovely bathrooms, so you also do not need to rent port-a-potties. Kim, the owner, could not have been more helpful!! She helped manage all the details and everything ran smoothly the day of the wedding. I have hosted lots of events, and my daughter's wedding was the only one where I never needed to do anything, or track anyone down during the event to make sure details were handled. Kim was there and managed it all beautifully. I cannot recommend The Inn at West Settlement highly enough.
Currently planning my wedding at the inn- they seem to be in a period of transition as many of the "approved vendors" they gave me when I first signed my contract are no longer active- florists, djs, sound engineers, and bar tenders to name a few. This was disappointing, as the other DJ option they gave me ended up being MUCH more expensive than the one I had originally priced. Make sure you check that all the vendors they give you are still active (with the vendors themselves!) to make sure you are budgeting correctly as the venue is very strict with who they allow you to hire. I had a lot of frustration with this trying to get questions answered by Kim, she has recently left the employment of the Inn so I'm hoping things will go more smoothly going forward.
They do have an entire room full of props to utilize- which is great! Things that would be costly such as chalk boards, window panes for writing, card holders are provided by the venue which I haven't seen anywhere else!
This is a mixed review as the venue was lovely (and a great deal) but we struggled with the owners. We got married at the Inn at West Settlement this past fall and had a great day/night. We loved being able to stay on the property to make a weekend of the event and getting married outside with the mountains in the background was incredible. We got so many compliments on the space and loved the bonfire. That being said, we had a very difficult time dealing with the owners and this sadly changed our feelings about the venue. One of the biggest issues we faced was with Kim. Before she even met us, Kim was rude, unresponsive and unhelpful. She is also the ONLY wedding planner allowed at The Inn, if you do not pay her extra to be there you CANNOT have anyone else. We opted not to use her but did have her arrange our brunch the morning after which was a huge mistake. She was rude to one of our mothers and our guests and did not put out enough food even though we wound up having 20-30 less people than we paid for. Another issue was the owners adding things that were not in the contract. They seemed really laid back but when we decided to go with a local caterer that was not Mary's Kitchen, the only one suggested in their packet, they became angry and attempted to charge our caterer an extra $500 to use their "kitchen" (a room with no stove). We faced similar pushback and charges with other vendor choices as well. We are not sensitive people, but Andy and Kim made me cry multiple times during the planning process. Luckily Andy really stepped up the day of our wedding and we had a lovely memorable day, but we think it is important to know going in that you may face some issues on flexibility. Be sure to check your contract and to stand firm on things you want and make sure everything is in writing before you sign. The space is really lovely, so as long as you can arrive at a good place with the owners maybe you can have an easier go of it than we did.
We just got married at The Inn at West Settlement and couldn't have chosen a better location. The ceremony and reception sites are beyond gorgeous and were created with so much thought and care. Kim, Andy, and Mary (caterer) were all so great to work with.
This venue is on a private property with flower gardens, wildflower fields, a swimming pond, fire pit, and rolling mountains in the distance. There's no wifi or cell service in the barn but it was so nice to be unplugged and have all of our guests be in-the-moment with us. Because it's so remote, there wasn't a curfew or any noise restrictions which was nice not to have to worry about. It was absolutely beautiful and we wished we never had to leave!
My Bride and I had our wedding here 10/3/15 and it was every much the life experience we could have ever imagined. We wanted a true "DIY" rustic wedding with lots of ability to tailor the venue to our vision. The owners Kim and Andy were very accommodating every step of the way and all of our families and friends are still talking about the venue.
Highlights of the venue for me. Ability to decorate / layout floorpan however we want.
BYOB saved me thousands of dollars.
Mary's Cooking is their preferred caterer and not only was her food absolutely amazing but reasonable and accommodating at every turn.
Ability to hook up an iPod for our "DJ"
Bonfire at Dusk with breathtaking views
And they love dogs just as much as we did :)
This place is a gem for those who truly want a quiet rusty beautiful setting.
My wife and I have already decided we want to continue to go back to stay at the Inn for yearly visits since we already have such amazing and vivid memories of the property and the good times we had there.
The Inn at West Settlement is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It was the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The whole day felt like a dream. Kim is fantastic at making sure everything runs smoothly for your special day. Andy and Kim keep the property so beautiful and you can just feel the love that is put into every detail. My guests said our wedding was one of the best they had ever been to. No one was in their seat except to eat. We had games set up outside and dancing inside, every one got to spread out around the property and do what made them happy! Plus we had a fire with smore's!! Anyone looking to do a barn wedding needs to check this place out.
I had my wedding in upstate NY in a barn overlooking the mountains! This venue was amazing! The barn has been refurbished, with a new wood floor, beautiful hanging lanterns and an awesome bar. An Inn is on the property for the family to stay during the wedding. We had our ceremony on the front lawn overlooking the mountains, the barn and a pond. It was the most magical wedding! The owners of the property were so helpful and really care for their barn and Inn!
