Our dedicated staff provides professional, polished service to ensure your wedding happens exactly as you have always imagined it. Hillholm Estate was built for Amos G. Winter in 1895 as a romantic gesture to his wife-to-be, Julia, to woo her into Maine's mountains from Manhattan society. Generations later, the Winters passed the estate to the first of a series of stewards, a physican who used the property as a rural post-war hospital, after which it became an elegant country inn. Hillholm stood as a beacon in the community; some of the oldest members of Kingfield's community remember learning to play tennis on the estate's green clay courts as children, to swim in its inground pool, and to ski down its natural amphitheater. The estate's surrounding acreage features dense woodlands, sprawling green gardens and apple trees, a wood sauna and cedar barrel jacuzzi, and frontage on the Carrabassett River, just a stone's throw from the Western Mountains' best swimming hole. In 2022, partners JennyBess Chaim and Matthew O'Donnell became Hillholm's newest stewards, launching a massive historic restoration of the property. Here, you can host a sweetly intimate or lavishly grand ceremony: our space is versatile. Hillholm Estate exudes a nostalgic aesthetic found only in these few remaining grand old houses of New England. Inside, host your reception in our formal dining rooms and fireside lounge. Due to Hillholm Estate's remote locale, you and your guests are afforded absolute privacy and serenity during your stay.
